We went for the Sunday buffet and were surprised that it was so busy… The starters were good and there was even Peking duck, although the hoisin sauce was a little odd..,. There were loads of mains to choose from and the staff kept the tables clear as we ate…. Although it made us feel a bit rushed. There were lots of desserts but they were all placed along the entrance which was a bit concerning,,, Overall the meal was good value at £25 a head but it was more Chinese/ Asian food than Thai,….

Once arriving - everything seemed fine , staff were polite. Starters came quick , then the mains took over a hour to come out , had to ask for them and even once asking it took another 20 minutes. Seemed like staff were only focused on certain tables. One other table next to us didn’t even get their order in 20 minutes into coming and was just left there and even once asking they was ignored. One side of the restaurant was packed and the other side seemed to only have one table of there friends or family? Service got poor once other tables come in that seemed like they would tip. A few of the staff were rude. Ordered duck main and had about 6 slices of duck. No choice of tap water only had to pay for a bottle of still. Place was dirty and run down. Very disappointed and will not be returning.

Together with 22 Anglo Thai Society colleagues, my wife and myself had lunch earlier today at the Thai Orchid Restaurant in Maidenhead which is fast becoming one of the Society’s favourite restaurants. The Sunday Buffet is an excellent spread and at £25 (recently increased from £22) represents excellent value for money. As such, bookings are not only essential but should be made well in advance. Another excellent event and one, I’m sure, we will be repeating in the not too distant future.

I have been coming here for many years, the food has always been very good and have never had a bad meal. I went on a Tuesday night, the restaurant soon became full. I opted for the special lamb shank panang on the table talker. It was the best meal I've ever had here. So much flavour with the sauce and the lamb shank was huge, perfectly cooked. Service as ever was exemplary.

A fantastic meal at the Thai Orchid on Saturday evening. We ordered two set menus and every dish was excellent, one of the best meals we have ever had. We have visited regularly over the years, but this was the first time for while. The service was excellent as usual, our thanks and appreciation to the all the staff. We will be back again soon !

Terrible experience. Ordered crackers and Tom Yum to start. The soup was akin to a stock with spices in it. Service is pathetic and I waited an hour for a main of simple stir fry and rice which didn't show up despite me being reassured it was on its way. I got up and walked out never to return.

I have enjoyed eating here quite a few times over the years but was shocked by my latest visit. The food was terrible and we left most of it. The fish cakes were like rubber coated in grease, the rice seemed to have been burnt (in a microwave ?) and if the noodles were once fresh then it sadly wasn’t on the same day we ordered them. Extremely disappointing, I don’t know whether the chef has retired but the food was inedible, I won’t be heading back.

Very expensive for what it is. We opted for the a la carte menu in the evening. - starters came out in one big dish (there was 8 of us dining, and amongst us some vegetarian). They had put all the meat and veg together in one big serving plate rather than bring each dish out separately. - waitresses were miserable, no smile and it was evident they were making comments about our table between them. - overall mediocre food i have to say. Very expensive for what it is. Probably only worth going for the buffet where service doesn’t matter.

Our first time, having heard about the restaurant from neighbours, and we weren't disappointed! Lovely food, best ever prawn crackers and everything tasted freshly cooked and authentic. Highly recommend.

We visited Thai Orchid for the Sunday lunch buffet today for my birthday - I had been wanting to go for a few months and this was the first opportunity we had where they had room. The food was lovely very tasty enough spice and so much variation - whilst we were there a small child on another table dropped a toy car down behind a radiator and one of the staff took the time to make sure he retrieved the toy - the look on the little boys face after the staff member having spent at least 10 minutes getting the toy back was priceless Can’t wait to come back x

We have been enjoying the Sunday buffet at the Thai Orchid for years, but this was our first visit since lockdown. As always the food was hot, fresh, and delicious. There is a huge variety of dishes to choose from; our favourites include the amazingly tender sliced beef, tom yum soup, deep fried squid and the chicken in scallop shells. Sadly only managed to squeeze in a small bowl of fruit salad for pudding, despite a fantastic selection of sweet dishes- so full from previous courses. Our favourite Maidenhead restaurant

Thai food is one of our favourite cuisines. We love the fragrant curries, the zesty salads and the sweet desserts. So, when we moved to Maidenhead, we were excited to discover that there were several Thai restaurants in town. However, we quickly became disappointed with the quality of Thai food on offer. In London, we had been spoilt for choice when it came to Thai restaurants, and the standard of food at Thai Orchid just didn't compare. The prices were also much higher than you’d think for Maidenhead. However, the service was excellent and the food was good. On Sundays, they offer an all-you-can-eat buffet for just £20 which I think that this is a great deal for the selection of choices they list. .Thai food in Maidenhead may not be the best Thai food in the UK, but it's definitely worth trying if you're in the area.

My wife and myself were part of a group of 12 who had lunch today at the £20 per head ‘All You Can Eat’ Buffet at the Thai Orchid Restaurant which is located close to Maidenhead Bridge near the River Thames. Our host had prebooked a table in advance which is just as well as this is clearly a popular Sunday Lunch venue as there wasn’t an empty chair/table in the whole property. As such, book ahead to avoid disappointment!! On seeing - and tasting - the extensive buffet, one is not only spoiled for choice but the quality is very good. All in all, extremely good value for money and no surprise why this must be one of Maidenhead’s most popular Sunday Lunch venues.

UK unfortunately is lacking when it comes to genuine Thai cuisine, most serving watered down version of thai dishes. And then we have Thai Orchid in Maidenhead, a place where the flavours are like you remembered them in Thailand.And remember, unless you are of the vegetarian persuasion, to order the chicken satay skewers as a starter, or you will miss out on the yummiest thai dish in UK.

We have been visitors at this Thai restaurant for 10 years+ and probably nearer 15. So we were looking forward to our pre cinema dinner as it had been sometime since we last ate there.The welcome was as warm as ever and the restaurant was very busy even at 7:30.Our order was delivered within about 5 minutes. Now I like quick service but this was taking it to the extreme. And yes, the singapore noodles must have been hanging around for a few hours. I was really looking forward to them being freshly cooked. I should have sent them back, but you don't go out for dinner to have hassle.The rest of the meal was fine, but you knew that it wasn't fresh off the wok or whatever pan they use in Thailand.So after such happy times, it has reached the end for us. Which is a great pity as we like the people and have happy memories

Staying only briefly in the Maidenhead area, my friend and I decided to try something that looked interesting. We were delighted with the friendly service, the wonderful decor and the incredibly delicious food in this restaurant.

Decided upon having Thai for lunch and knew of this place in Maidenhead. We parked up with ample parking at the back and made our way in. Were greeted by very friendly staff and place at a nice table. We soon realised that the lunch was a unlimited buffet much to my delight. Everything was what we expected with the lovely flavours of Thailand. From soups, starters, salads to mains and the very yummy desert. The only downfall was as we got there a little late things were a little cold, so pays to get there early. Overall experience was excellent would recommend.

We went to the T O for the first time and were greeted personally by the manager who is very friendly and polite to all his guests / customers. We had a mixed starter to share , 2 mains and desserts from the trolley with a few beers and glass of wine which came to £65. Well worth it as can’t complain and food was nicely presented and tasty . Four of us dined Thursday evening and we all agreed this was one of the best meals we have had. We chose Banquet B, and from the starters to the main meals the food was excellent and the presentation was fantastic. The portions were extremely generous and the food being so good one of our party could not finish his sweet. I would definitely recommend the Crunchy Cake.

My wife was celebrating a significant birthday so as a treat we thought it would be different to take family and friends to the Thai Orchid, having been there once before, and having enjoyed it. We hired a coach and turned up with 25 people and they were so welcoming. The food on a Sunday lunchtime is a buffet style meal and you can eat as much as you like. Impossible to work your way through the whole menu as there is so much variety, and it is beautifully presented. We will go again for sure.

I visited the restaurant first time with my wife. Food is good, tasty but very very oily. Papaya salad was not up to the mark which is traditional Thai dish and must have dish. This was big disappointment as it was least expected. However service was good, fast and staff friendly.

I am convinced that this lavishly decorated restaurant was left behind when Thailand was on it's world tour! The food is amazing and is served by very attentive, lovely and friendly staff. My wife and I have been coming here for years, but most recently for my birthday. From the intricate tables to the infamous dessert trolley Thai Orchid made for yet another memorable evening. Although there is ample seating, booking is essential on the busier Friday, Saturday and Bank Holiday evenings. Parking is somewhat limited, though additional parking is available on nearby roads if you don't mind a walk.

What a wonderful selection of everything Thai plus some added extras for the fussy diners! We haven't been for a couple of years and the quality and value of the Sunday buffet is still excellent. Wonderful and attentive service made our day extra special with menus to suit all tastes and ages. Our party ranged from 20 years to 80 years and we had all been looking forward to this meal since we booked a month ago. We will not leave our return trip so long next time!

Went on a midweek evening for business, restaurant not busy ( to be expected midweek), service good and food for me was just average. The steak was over cooked and not as ordered and noodles quite greasy ( just a personal opinion of course). Portions on starters quite strange , most came as a ‘3’ per portion which as most people dine as a 2 or 4 .... Staff courteous and friendly but think I could of got better value for money elsewhere.

Went out with all four children for our boy's birthday. Two under 2s included. The staff were so kind and attentive and couldn't do enough for all of us. The menu is good and the food we ordered was so delicious. Best evening out for a long time and so lovely it felt like me and hubbie were actually on a date we could enjoy. Thank you to the staff and would def. eat there again!!

I am not a lover of Thai food, however a family celebration brought me to this restaurant I must say they have something for everyone, I would defy anyone who could not find a dish they enjoyed, the choice was overwhelming. I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again in the near future. Amazing.

We regularly get a takeaway from the Thai Orchid. It is always tasty and succulent. We've ever had a bad meal from there.

Japanese is our first love but Thai is the next from other parts of the world. Food is very good and high standards.

We love the red and green vegetable curries at this restaurant. The garlic rice and the red veg curry is my personal favourite combination. The red curry is perfectly spiced, aromatic and spicy with lots of healthy vegetables. The green curry is fantastic too and is a favourite of the rest of the family. I haven't tasted any meat dishes but that's my personal fear that I may not like the smell. The Pad Thai was amazing too. I am a big big fan of the red curry and sometimes my taste buds actually crave for that authentic taste. It's far far more delicious than some of the big names. The staff here is also extremely friendly and always welcoming and look after you well. I am a frequent visitor, everytime my tummy and taste buds scream for the red or green curry, it's the Thai Orchid for me at Cookham. And the location is beautiful too!!

Delicious food served by friendly and efficient staff surrounded by authentic Thai decor - carved chairs are sturdy and comfortable and the tables all with relief under glass. Had the banquet which was fullsome and tasty, especially the duck. Plenty of choice on the menu if you want to go off-piste so to speak but the set meals are good value; you won't go away hungry.

Our first visit, a birthday celebration. We had a wide range of dishes, and shared them. All were delicious, and one of them, a whole fish, was particularly beautifully presented. Service was swift and smiling, surroundings were clean and comfortable and a happy atmosphere developed as the place filled up. You could still have a conversation without shouting though. I'm a critical soul usually but have nothing but praise for chef and staff.

I took my sister in law for dinner on Saturday evening for her birthday. Menu was very good, we did browse but chose to have the Set menu B for 2, what an amazing choice, food was hot and the dishes so tasteful and delious. All the staff were very welcoming, family run, Would definitely recommend and book again.

Eight of us enjoyed tasty Thai cuisine and first class service. Looking forward to the next time and will certainly recommend to my friends and extended family.

It's always great food and good Sunday all you can eat buffet but expensive prices and the main owner is often very rude which makes you not want to go. He is especially rude in the phone and often will hang up on you!

The pad thai was spot on, my (hot) tea was refilled, the beer was authentic and cold. The place was packed on a Saturday evening, yet they found a table for a single disabled diner. Not just great food but also compassion and respect for a customer!

Excellent quality food, kept hot with candles under serving dishes. Popular and busy restaurant with limited parking at rear. Seating and decor could be updated a little as enviroment unchanged for years. The youngsters loved the chocolate mousse dessert with broken crunchie bars on top! Only given a two hour slot for your table.
