What a wonderful authentic Thai restaurant, a true credit to the couple that own it and run it. All 4 of us ( 2 who thought they didn’t like Thai food ) had a brilliant evening with stunning tasty food and great service. There is nothing not to love about this place. We all can not wait and are looking forward to our next visit, a true gem of a place in Langport

As soon as you enter, there is a lovely smell of Thai cooking. Pretty good range of dishes and no problem with adapting to specific food needs. We sampled a good range of dishes and every plate was almost licked clean. Quite a testament to the standard. Service was a bit slow ... as is often the case in Thai restaurants as the food comes as it is ready.

Another visit to Thai Mango, because despite previous visits, I’m yet to find a better dish than Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles). Pains me to say it, but the food is far superior to the service. If you’re having a take away, you’ll highly rate it, but eating in is just not good enough unfortunately. Booking was pretty straightforward over text, easily getting a table for the same day. When we visited, 4 tables were taken out of around 9 or 10. A cheery hello, and shown straight to our table on arrival. No drinks menu, and can’t buy wine but the glass, so we shared a bottle. The decor is… odd. Several lamps, and not a single lampshade was straight! Dirty windowsills, such an own goal. Random picture of asparagus on the wall… We were asked what drinks we’d like, and ordered food at the same time. Unfortunately they didn’t have prawn crackers, which has been a previous highlight, authentic and so good. Starters of essentially prawn toast was lovely, and both mains superb. The food is really 5 star, and I can’t recommend it enough. Heard a table near us ask for dessert, and although they didn’t give a menu, they reeled off lots of desserts… we were intrigued! However, after our main, no one asked us about desserts.. or more drinks.. such a shame. We ended up finishing our drinks and going to ask for the bill. If anyone asked us for drinks or desserts I think we’d have spent at least £20 more, but it didn’t happen. Such a selling point missed. I can’t see TM being open for much longer, which is a shame. Sort out the service and the decor and you could bring in much more money! A strange note on the menu and bar that they need to add on 7.5% due to cost increases too… just add it on to the cost of meals, that would make more sense. I didn’t feel like I could or should tip because of this ‘price increase’, either put the price of meals up or add a service charge… I don’t think the staff are bad, just not trained properly. With a bit of training, they’d earn much more and so would TM. Now there’s a new Thai open in Yeovil, we may visit TM again but for take away only. As mentioned, can’t see it being open for too long, but I hope it is… drunken noodles are sooo good!

So, I’ve been to this place 3 times now,, and it’s time to spill all, this absolute delight of a restaurant/takeaway just goes to show that you can make the food taste and look as authentic as possible. For a second, I actually thought I had waited 6 hours for a delayed flight, then 16 hours on a plane. Arriving in Thailands best 5star restaurant, then back again, all in the space of an hour. This food really is fantastic, I usually find rice boring and mundane no matter how anyone tries to cook it, but these cats sure do know how to make it absolutely delicious, I could spoon their rice into my mouth again and again like a toddler would eating it’s first chocolate mousse. Everything is fresh, non greasy. And all of the different 15 dishes we have had, not 1 has disappointed, get your backsides to this lovely little place people. You will not be disappointed.

Quirky little restaurant in Langport that lacks a little warmth and atmosphere, but delivers on the food. I moved to the area just over a year ago and this is my first visit to Thai Mango which we decided to try with friends. Upon entering the bar/restaurant you're immediately enveloped with the wonderful fragrance of Thai cooking. However, the restaurant is sparsely decorated, and there's nothing of note that would indicate you are indeed in a Thai restaurant. The owner and serving staff were very good an attentive. The menu is simple, offering up traditional Thai dishes and all of us agreed the starters and mains that we ate were really good. I opted the a red curry which I asked to be pepped up a little and it was very aromatic, tasty and packed a punch. Good food, would recommend!

We decided to try Thai food for a change, and it was a very pleasant change. It appeared and tasted... 'fresher' and 'cleaner' than our usual Oriental culinary desires. The prawn toast is certainly something we both recommend, and will make sure to get two portions next time! And, the pad Thai was fantastic too. Looking forward to returning, very soon.

We visited Thai Mango in Langport for our anniversary as we’d heard great things and we weren’t disappointed! The staff were so welcoming and accommodating. We ordered the prawn pancakes and spring rolls to start. Both tasted so fresh with great flavours. The prawn massaman curry and Thai green curry were phenomenal. My boyfriend remembered tasting the Thai green curry a year previously at Party by the Parrett and now it’s safe to say, we’ll be regulars! Thanks very much team Thai Mango!

I visited this restaurant with my father and to start we shared Thord Mang Goong (Thai Prawn Cake) and Popiah Sot (Fresh Spring Rolls). The prawn cakes were really nice, and not much different from what you'd get in any other decent Thai restaurant. I'd never come across the fresh spring rolls before, they were quite tricky to eat without making a mess, but they were lovely and refreshing. Then for our mains we had Chicken Pad Thai (my father's) and King Prawn Sen Lek Pad Sieuw (mine). These were both delicious and the Pad Thai was the tastiest Pad Thai I've ever tasted, really flavoursome. Overall, a very satisfying meal so I would definitely recommend.

Until now I have never felt the need to provide a negative feedback review following a meal out; my wife and I have had some excellent food and some less so, but our experience at the Thai Mango was so poor it demands a warning.I recommend that you read this review to the end as it will clearly show why I have summarised my experience with ………… the food provided to my wife and I at the Thai Mango, is without any doubt the worst Thai food I have ever tasted. It was worse than poor. The service was no better. I cannot recommend this restaurant. When originally booking a table for the Thai Mango evening buffet event, held once a month, we were asked by the member of staff if we could possibly arrive half an hour earlier than our preferred time, as apparently the buffet can get busy.We arrived at the requested time only to be told by the owner (I assume) that as there were not enough bookings for the planned buffet, it had been cancelled. It was unfortunate that the owner had not taken the time to advise us of the cancellation by phone before we arrived. The owner said that instead of the buffet, where we would have been able to choose what we wanted to eat, they would provide an alternative with a selection of starters, followed by a variety of main dishes selected by the restaurant. The atmosphere in the restaurant was average. It was generally well-lit and decorated but it had an underlying odour of stale fat and was rather chilly. We ordered our drinks which we took to our table and then sat waiting for the next 25 minutes!Whilst we waited, some other diners showed up and from their muted conversations, we noted that they too had booked the buffet and had arrived at a time set by the restaurant. None seemed over happy it had been cancelled with no notice. After waiting 25 minutes with no further contact with the staff, I left the table to find the owner in order to request some Thai crackers. This appeared to cause him some surprise. The crackers arrived within a few minutes. They were I think of a mixed cooking batch, as some were over cooked and tasted burnt and whilst the others were coated in oil. We tried a few, but we soon gave up.The selection of starters arrived. They included a ¼ Thai scotch egg, a satay chicken, ½ spring roll, sesame or prawn toast and (I think) a fish cake. There was a portion of each item for my wife and I.With each item there was something fundamentally wrong. The chicken meat provided on the satay skewer, was so minuscule, that there was barely enough fo it to go around the skewer; the toast and cake items were awash with fat; the Thai scotch egg piece tasted of egg, but the outer cover had little/no flavour and the taste and texture were unpleasant; the spring roll was icy cold as if just removed from the fridge. As we sampled each item it was clear that my wife and I both found the food downright rubbish and unpleasant. We decided to leave before any main course selection was presented. We were not prepared to eat anything further at the Thai Mango. I spoke quietly with the owner saying that we were leaving, but we would pay for the drinks and the sample starters and that the starters were without doubt the worst Thai food we had ever tasted. We had tried to be quiet and discrete so not to cause any fuss. However, the owner, obviously taken aback, chose to shout from the restaurant area, in front of the other diners, into the kitchen, saying “This gentleman says that this is the worst Thai food he has ever tasted”. He shouted this two, or three times, until he had the attention of the chef (his wife), who then came out of the kitchen and into the restaurant area; she said nothing.I did try to quietly explain what we found wrong with the food, but the owner stated he was not at all interested and we should go, that we were not to pay anything and we should just get out of the restaurant. We did.We have only recently moved into the area and were recommended the Thai Mango. We had been looking forward to the meal for some time, as we love Thai food. Our disappointment was total.I could have written this review immediately on the night, but I was so disappointed in the food and the attitude of the owner that I may have ended up giving the wrong impression. I have let it rest for a few days so that I could accurately and fairly present our experience. The quality of the food provided to us that evening was very poor. The arrogance of the owner was overwhelming. I have since read the other Tripadvisor reviews and I am pleased that some other people have had a much better experience; but I wish I had read the reviews previously, as the service/food that my wife and I experienced that night was not unique. We cannot fix the food but the owner can, if only he had taken the time and allowed us the opportunity to explain what was so bad.

I’ve seen this restaurant I. The distance while passing, but never gave it a second thought. A work colleague has moved near and been twice, giving glowing reviews each time, which prompted me to visit. I called at 1500 on the day to book, but no answer. I left a voicemail and the owner Colin called me back confirming my booking, at a slightly earlier time than requested due to a big booking; which shown that he cares about his customers and didn’t want a lesser service being given to us. Upon arrival we were greeted by four members of staff behind a small bar, but they were very friendly and we were warmly welcomed. We ordered drinks and were shown to our table in the lovely decorated restaurant. We asked the waitress for a recommendation for a meal for our son, aged 8. She duly obliged and made an excellent recommendation. The prawn crackers actually tasted like prawns which is rare, but were well received by us all. My wife and I ordered the set menu (can’t remember the name) at £24pp. The waitress asked if we didn’t like any of the meats and how spicy we wanted our meals, then they were cooked to our liking. SO MUCH FOOD! I could’ve just ate the starters with rice, but another four mains to share was so much! They did offer to bag anything we left up to be fair! The service was good on the whole - the waitress who erred is in the main was brilliant, a credit to the restaurant. The other two waiting staff weren’t as good, one asking if we had finished when I were half way through.. but it did seem they were new and would hopefully grow into the role. The owner came over and was lovely throughout, made me feel really comfortable, very endearing too. The bill was quite high, but if I’m honest it’s because it was my first time here and ordered way too much! I could’ve spent £30 less and still been full. All in all, an excellent meal and will 100% return very soon!

I was staying near Glastonbury with my daughter, we were in the area for her to sit a scholarship exam for nearby Millfield School. We arrived at out accommodation at 7pm, tired and hungry after a three hour drive through pouring rain. The place was in a secluded area with no food places nearby, a quick google search turned up Thai Mango as a well reviewed local restaurant. One negative review gave the impression that the reviewer was a bit of a tw*t so I went with the massive consensus of 4.5 stars. We had a choice between sitting in the front section or out the back. The proprietor said it was up to us but when we opted for the front he seemed put out. He was friendly but seemed ill at ease. We ordered starters of fresh spring rolls, not fried, and these lovely little pork satays. Both dishes were really tasty, the pork satays particularly delicious. For mains we went for a green curry with prawns, a chilli fish, and a chicken larb salad, we had coconut rice to go with it. I would rate all the food as some of the most delicious Thai food I’ve ever tasted! Not cheap, and the front of house is certainly not a natural for the job, but if you’re in the area I’d recommend visiting Thai Mango

Ordered a takeaway on a Saturday night. Usually get Thai from Thai Elephant in Street, but we live in Somerton so thought we would give Thai Mango a try. I was told on the phone it would be 40 minutes. Went to collect 40 mins later and didn't receive the food until over an hour after ordering. We weren't too annoyed as it was a Saturday night, they were very busy and were very polite however we still spent over 20 minutes waiting. Food was fresh and hot when we got home and was okay at best. Had we not paid so much money for it i probably wouldn't have finished it (and i never leave food). The price was extortionate...£30 for 2 curries and 2 rice. Would be just over £20 in Thai Elephant and much better quality of food. Won't be returning.

Thai Mango is a great little find tucked away in Langport. Been here several times with my partner and on every occasion we’ve been blown away by how good the food is. Having travelled and lived in Thailand, we were both quite surprised at just how authentic the food is, certainly not the western adaptations of Thai food you see in many restaurants. If you’re hungry, I suggest trying their ‘Sam rap’ menu which is a selection of dishes cooked to your own taste preferences. The owner, Colin, is always an excellent host and very welcoming. Even people who entered the restaurant after us were served at the bar by another barman before we even finished ordering our drinks!!.

I was a little apprehensive as food at some buffet nights in other restaurants can be somewhat moderate. No worries here though, for £22.00 per head we had a delicious range of starters, and a great variety of main course dishes, all brought to the table. All piping hot. Really freshly cooked and aromatic. We were offered more of any dishes free of charge too - but were well filled already. Wine was good and service was efficient and friendly. Enjoyed a delicious meal here last Saturday. The restaurant was very busy..In fact, our friends who go regularly, said they had never known it to be so busy. The service was friendly and professional....staff knew about the dishes which were all cooked by a lovely Thai lady in the kitchen behind the bar. We chose the set menu but could stipulate how hot, meat, prawn etc to taste...It took a while for us to be seated due to a lack of staff on such a busy night, but this in no way affected our evening. I would recommend this place to others....but book first so you are not disappointed.

This was my first visit here. I was out celebrating with friends. The owner was very welcoming and the waitress was charming. All four of our party were completely impressed by the quality of the delicious food, which was perfect. The decor and ambience was also just right. I will definitely be making a return journey here.

Arrived late on Friday night with husband and daughter.. managed to get the last free table in the restaurant. The barman was friendly, helpful and welcoming. When my daughter asked for help choosing, he even brought her a taster! The home made scotch eggs were fantastic, and main course was equally amazing.. so pleased we found this place! Will definitely return if in the area again!

Colin and Sue, the owners of Thai Mango did the outside caterering at my 70th birthday on the 11th Feb. for 75 guests The food was excellent, fresh and delicious and well presented. They kindly stayed on and served the food for which I was grateful. Thanks Colin and Sue.

I had heard of the restaurant but this was our first time. The restaurant was easy to find with good parking. The decor is very much in keeping with the experience. The owners welcome was very warm and friendly. We were really impressed by the knowledge and time that was given to explaining the menu and how it spice temperature would be tailored to individual taste upon request. The food is the best Thai I have ever had and will be going back and telling friends about the restaurant. Well worth a visit..

We decided on a trip out on a lovely winter day and headed for this restaurant we had never eaten here before but found it on the internet and as lovers of Thai food checked it said it was open and set off. On arrival a sign on the road advertised the lunch special and so we parked but found to our disappointment the place dark and closed some few minutes after their advertised 12oclock opening time. We sat a few minutes thinking maybe someone would arrive but felt that was probably unlikely and eventually left to look for lunch. If you think of going here make sure they are open before you go.

Since Colin and his wife moved here they have created a lovely place. Great for a pre-dinner drinks and traditional Thai food. This is our fourth visit and we have not been dissappointed. Fully recommended but booking necessary on Fri/Sat.

Everything is cooked to order by the most wonderful Thai owner. The food is first class, set in atmosphere which is unpretentious and welcoming. The menu is very good with specials that change on a weekly basis too. We have taken friends and family here and everyone agrees with us - good people, serving excellent fare

Arrived ten mins early, ordered food. Told that prawn crackers and dips would be served whilst waiting. They never arrived. Eventually shown to our table, 45 mins after booking time, to an almost empty dining room. Asked how long our food would be told five mins. Hot plates were placed in front of us, only to go stone cold. After well over an hour we left hungry. There were no apologies for the appalling lack of service and food, just an £11.50 bill for two glasses of wine. Save yourselves the bother go elsewhere

A group of us chose an all-in medley meal so as to get a taste of everything. A first course of deep fried fat foods was disgusting, not like us lot to leave it uneaten.Mains showed they could cook, but it was unexciting and think a lot was pre-cooked, as it lacked the fresh crispiness so famous in Thai food. The wines we cose were good. The surroundings were drab and skimpy with a cold feel, a sofa whose cushions creashed to ground level.£37/head!!

We went for Saturday night dinner and decided to choose the mix menu put together by the restaurant This gave mixed startersA green chicken curry, pad Thai,a prawn very delicious but hot curry a mixed fish in a sweet and sour sauce and rice. At 25 each a very good way to sample a wide range of dishesEvery thing was cooked perfectly, pleasant enough decor in the restaurant, polite staff but nothing really outstanding. I think For takeaway or with a larger party probably more fun as the atmosphere is a little subdued

Visited Thai Mango while on a weekend break, having not initially considered a Thai restaurant. The food was absolutely fantastic and the manager was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. My only criticism was that the waiting staff weren't very attentive at all. I even had to help myself to knives and forks from another table!

You are greated as soon as you arrive, brought prawn crackers and dip (free) with the menus and drinks. Relaxed atmosphere and not rushed to make choices. We had startes and mains, plus sweet. Highly recommend the Pad Thai (my wife had this and I tried some, great flavour and a good choice for those not into hot spicy food) and I had the Gaeng Thai Red Prawn, oh the taste, and a good hot kick too, just what I like! This is not the cheapest restaurant, but as I say, you pay for what you get, and for us this was definitely worth it.

My partner and I visited The Thai Mango for the first time last night, I doubt it will be our last!We sat outside for the entire experience as it was such a lovely evening and the setting was pleasant.Usually when you decide to sit outside you run the risk of being forgotten by the staff - but not here at Thai Mango - all the staff delivered excellent service without being too pushy. Their knowledge of the menu was very good and they knew how to guide a Thai newbie through the menu but at the same time they let you take time over decisions and never rushed you.In the end we opted for the 'set' meal - a platter of starters, a mixture of main and some rice.Food was cooked quickly and when it arrived we were very pleased with the vast array of colours and aromas that were placed in front of us. Once we tucked in it became obvious that the flavours were just as good as the presentation. The only fault we had with the food was the quantity (just too much for us) However, the staff, who always seem happy to please, boxed up all the food we could not manage on the night and we took it all home with us.To be honest this place does deserve the fifth star but the only reason I have given it a four is that we both would have liked to see more options on the menu. I know the old saying of keeping it small and simple is often correct, however, in this instance I do think a few more options would be the way forward. If you are in this area then this place is definitely worth the visit.

Lovely restaurant, lovely staff, but poor choice for us on their buffet menu last night... We had three nice starters and then were served three curry dishes, one noodle and one prawn dish (which we sent back, merely because we would not eat it, and did not want the food to be wasted). I loved the chicken curry but husband could find nothing he liked at all in the main meal. The beef and the pork in the other curries were a bit tough, but the vegetables in them were nice. Hubby came back home hungry. We paid nearly £40 in effect for some starters, and one chicken curry. Luck of the draw I suppose, as last time we were there we really enjoyed it. Hint: if you do not much like curries, ask what dishes they will be serving on that buffet night (it changes each time) and if you do not like the main dishes, ask for more starter dishes instead as staff are very helpful. We did not think about this at the time. Unfortunately we were offered the starter dishes as an alternative for my husband, just as we were about to leave.
