Have been eating at the Thai Lounge for a number of years but will not be after the last takeaway. All 3 dishes that we had were watery and had no taste to them we were extremely disappointed and won't be ordering again

Very nice food. Main dish portions are in the larger containers and full with generous nice cuts of meat. I would recommend for eating in and take aways.

The easy option was a delivered Thai meal but what a dreadful mistake. Pad tai was tasteless, no peanuts a congealed mess. Chicken massiman curry sauce was like water and flavourless. The hot beef dish was chewy and no heat. The sticky rice was just plain boiled rice. The mixed starters were again bland, over cooked and not worth paying for All in all for £50 a total waste of money and shameful to even advertise the food as being Thai

Had a lovely take away tonight of Thai and Indian food . Unfortunately the prawn crackers that were paid for did not arrive. Only realised after the nice delivery guy had left. Shame

Have eaten here before and really enjoyed it so decided to treat ourselves to a Valentine’s takeaway. Did a preorder through Uber eats to make sure it was on time. Called an hour before it was due to check order received and told yes it would be dispatched soon. An hour after it was due (still not arrived) I called and the person went to find out where it was…10 minutes “on hold” listening to busy restaurant, hung up and called back only to be told they had a record but it “had not been printed” but it wasn’t their fault it was Uber eats?! Food reordered with half an hour wait (will it arrive this time?) but was called back to say that they couldn’t omit the fish sauce even though this was done the last time I ate at the restaurant. Not impressed…don’t think I will bother again

Ordered as a takeaway. Duck meat looked like it had gone through a blender. Obviously from a packet. Rest of food not fresh and tasteless. Like out of a microwave

Absolutely shocking service. First time using Just Eat and the Thai Lounge. Love Thai food and had high expectations, ordered before 7.25pm Saturday evening, Just Eat said 8.10 estimated delivery, restaurant confirmed 8.30pm, okay. When it got to nearly 9.00pm we started to get concerned and hungry, clicked the get the restaurant to call me button-nothing. Eventually got through to the number, was told they were sorry, driver accident! Food was on its way! When asked about what state the food would be in-'PERFECT A1 condition Sir'. Taxi arrived after 10.00pm. I asked what condition the food was in, when did he collect it? He assured me the manager had just handed him the food. It was terrible, had been standing on a shelf for over an hour I would say. Noodles and rice congealed, pancakes stuck together and all lukewarm. Dreadful service. Emailed them to ask for an explanation, no reply!

customer service was impeccable; couldn’t have asked for better service. They were flexible with the menu and always checked up on us. Deffo recommend. Food was mouth watering The interior is beautiful. Definitely gonna bring my family back!! :) I was served by sufi and shajahan.

I don't usually write reviews but this restaurant deserves it. The delivery took nearly 2 hours and if they are busy that's fine. But when we finally got it it was flavourless, very disappointing!

My husband ordered a takeaway Thai meal and it will be the last from this restaurant. Not one dish was authentic. Thai food should be an explosion of flavours - this takeaway was more like a poor version of chinese. Boring, an insult to the fantastic cuisine that we love and nowexpect

Unfortunately this isn't Thia!! It's linked to and Indian next door and they are running 2 restaurants next to each other. I'm one of 7 who thought it would be nice to have a Thia meal and we we're all very disappointed. My wife is a vegan and had no choice and the staff didn't realise that fish paste isn't vegan or vegetarian so they definitely need to look into that as all their vegetarian meals have fish paste in them. All I can say is the whole experience was quite poor.

When a restaurant can not cook rice properly avoid. Bland food. Service was good tho. Beer over priced and ate in a empty restaurant. Spent 70 quid here could of done the same and better at home for 30 quid

£8 for a 4 mile delivery is extortion..

1st time eating Thai in years and really enjoyed it all. Ordered online collected bang on time 5 minutes drive home and hot flavoursome food was enjoyed. Very filling very tasty very good service, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Very helpful, I ordered online but needed to add to the order. The delivery driver had just left, however they arranged another driver to send out the extra dish. Very nice Pad Thai, very happy with the service.

We ordered the Meal for 2 and everything was fantastic! Everything was tasty with fresh ingredients. You can tell love and care was put into the food! A hug amount of food for a great price with loads leftover for tomorrow!

Delivery an hour late and a dish missing when it eventually came. Between ordering, waiting a hour and the other hour, complaining and waiting for replacement dish, Thai Lounge upset our evening, what was meant to be a treat turned into waiting complaining and dissatisfaction. I don't expect everything to be perfect but to do so badly... Look at your reviews Thai Lounge.

Friday night I order using Uber Eats. 1 hour later and the order has been updated to say new delivery time which will put it at 2 hours after we ordered. At 2 hours I called them and they told me “today is our first day on Uber eats and we hadn’t checked the orders from there, we can get it to you in 1/2 hour. I’ve only just seen your order and printed it”. I categorically told them no way, I didn’t want to be eating my dinner at 9.45pm. I honestly would have expected better from these guys. We’ve eaten there 10s of times but this is ridiculous. If it’s your first day using Uber eats surely you’d be checking it to make sure no orders had come in??? Definitely hangry now.

Shambles. My elderly parents rang to place a takeaway order (over £40) you said you were very busy and will call back You didn’t. They had a frozen pizza and won’t come back!

We got a takeaway from here during the second lockdown. The order we received was wrong, such as the tofu curry not actually containing any tofu. Even if the order had been correct, it is expensive to pay £26 for two curries and two rices. Also, when we picked up there were people having drinks while they waited to collect their meals, which is against the national lockdown rules. Would not visit again.

Takeaway order very wrong and ‘promised’ free meal next time. Meal was mediocre at best. Today refused to honour that promise. I won’t be going back. It’s a shame because it used to be good and I was a regular customer, but it’s too expensive for the poor quality of food we had and I certainly didn’t like the service.

Very disappointed I pre booked online which worked well although my booking was not checked properly when we arrived as I was shown into their Indian restaurant.After we asked we were then seated in the thai restaurant at 7.35. The menu was different from that shown online with a lot fewer dishes and no set menus! They took our order and served us with our wine..and prawn crackers but failed to serve us with water as requested.After over an hour the waiter told us they had lost our order and retook it. We were promised a free drink which never materialised. Our mixed starters arrived about 9pm and these were tasty.Our main courses were served about 9.20pm and they failed to serve the dumplings we had ordered. These were promised gratis...and arrived about 5 minutes later but cold in the middle. Our stir fry was good and the red curry bland!We did not have time for coffee or desserts if indeed they were available as we were never offered a dessert menu or coffee.Indeed our bill arrived after 10pm!When our bill arrived there was no reduction save for the inedible and late prawn dumplings. Only when I complained was the service taken off.The excuse given by the restaurant for the appalling evening was that they were busy with takeaways!

Food was really good but service was really slow, we arrived at 7 30 and left at midnight. It was nice to get the extra time with my friends but very very slow

We turned up on time for our 8pm booking. Seated in the luxurious seats next to the gents, then we waited, waited some more, until 45 minutes passed and we still were not even asked if we wanted drinks. A polite prompt to the server asking to serve us didn’t help, so 50 minutes from sitting down and still no order taken it was time to take our money elsewhere. Avoid.

The service was very slow even though we were for the early dinner slot. Meals were alright, but paid and left when done as coffee and dessert was unavailable and incredibly slow on the service side. And the restaurant was not that full. Food was alright but I have had better. Was not that impressed to be honest.

This is the 3rd time I’ve been to this restaurant and now won’t be returning. The food was average the service was average the price was fair until it came to the drinks. Unfortunately my bottled beer wasn’t cold but charging £8.95 for a 200ml bottle of Prosecco is robbery. I have never ever paid that much for a little bottle of Prosecco any where. £3 for a kids apple juice WTF! I will not be returning the drink theft prices isn’t acceptable. You’ve lost a customer.

Always a good Thai curry even as takeaway

A little off the beaten track, this place hosted a family get-together for 14 of us. We were well looked after and the food was delicious and plentiful! I would definitely recommend you give it a try.

Good for takeaways - not if you are in the restaurant!! Food good when it arrived but oh my gosh how long did we have to wait!! It was at least an hour between our starter and the main dish being served even though the restaurant was far from full. However in the meantime at least 7 or 8 takeaway meals were brought out for customers in the lounge area. How frustrating to see all this food bypass our table whilst we were kicking our heels. Won't be returning here.

I have to say this place do a very very good Thai. The presentation is amazing and the setting, while not to private is very nice. Staff polite and attentive. The staff that have been there a while are very good at helping you choose a meal. I would say as a group you could have quite a selection to try. 9.5 out of 10 well done.

I love eating thai food and i can tell that Thai lounge have very delicious thai food. especially the penang fish with egg&vegetable rice and prawn pad thai on the side. it was very enjoying thai food experience and would recommend thai lounge to my fam.

Visited here on Sunday with family and it was dreadful. This is supposed to be a Thai restaurant but most of the dishes were Indian with only 3-4 Thai dishes. Very, very disappointed and won't be returning.

As it is linked to the Tarana you can order Thai or Indian at the same table which is great if friends what different things to eat ! Bit pricey but not had a bad meal there.

There were flies flying around the whole restaurant, crawling on the chairs and crawling all over the windows. I saw at least 15 flies on ONE window. I therefore didn’t eat because i dread to think what’s going on in the kitchen if the seating area is that bad. Noooooo thanks!

What’s happened. Are they under new management..?? we’ve just had the most disappointing takeaway/ meal from this place after eating here for years.. the complaint to the watery green prawn curry were the prawn were boiled within an inch of the dried up excuse. On complaining . It was met with .” It’s supposed to be like that “ !!!!! Talking over explanation to what was wrong. - Not taking an interest in why the food was bad. Being rebuffed with no apology just to ‘get me off the phone’. The most upsetting thing is This place has been of such a high standard for so many years. And yet with in weeks the reputation will get around the village. . And another once good restaurant has closed.. - AVOID.. - The chicken tikka masala a was dry & rubbery. The pad Thai. Over cooked slush .. .. really disgusting & really sad it’s gone down hill..

Great food and friendly service

Not a detailed report, as food and service is great. Looked after from the minute we walked in, until when we left. Service was excellent, and food was tasty and plentiful. Would not hesitate to return.

Really delicious food, especially the coconut rice! Friendly and helpful staff and pleasant surroundings. There were a couple of birthday groups so the restaurant can clearly cope with large bookings as well as smaller tables such as ours. No parking on site, bit there is a large car park within 3 minutes walk. Would highly recommend.

Went Tarana (which we love) for a Valentines meal but it was fully booked so they invited to walk through to the Thai Lounge.

We are missing Thai food from Thai lounge very badly but for that i went to the another place. that's not quality food at all .

Monday nights is “Police Raid Night” at the Thai Lounge in Lingfield. Ah it makes you long for the good old days when there was an Elvis impersonator or a belly dancer. This is the second time we’ve eaten there in the last year when there have been more police present than customers. The police were NOT on their Xmas jolly. They were checking passports. I’d not got mine with me but they were only checking the staff so I got away with it. The set Thai dinner for 2 menu A at £24.95 pp is a veritable feast! It would easily feed a whole boat load of illegal immigrants. (Sorry, couldn’t help myself). Great value for money, tasty but the service was painfully slow and the waiting staff pretty unavailable. We didn’t see anybody being carted away in a paddy wagon so that can’t have been the reason. It was 10th December and as I said, more police than diners - maybe 6 or 7 tables taken - so no Xmas parties. But despite the kind of awkward atmosphere,the grub was fine, no complaints. No hassling waiters to disturb your conversation so a ✔️ for that. They were probably all in hiding....... you know counting to 100 backwards...

Nicely decorated in a modern style. First impression of the table was not too good. The restaurant was not very busy although there were quite a few people at the bar area. We chose a particular table because of its location but it had to be cleared first. When we sat down, we had to ask for the table to be cleaned as there were large grease marks over it. These were wiped down with a serviette leaving it rather streaky. There was no table cloth, just a runner that had a couple of holes in and some bleach splatters. Slow service to order drinks. I then asked for tap water but had to go up several minutes later to ask again. I ordered another half Cobra (at the end of the evening I was charged for a half San Miguel). There was a wait to order the food and we were then told that they were very busy (I think with take away orders as there were a lot of empty tables) and the wait would probably be about half an hour. The waiter said he would try and get it quicker. It did actually arrive sooner than half an hour. Not a good start and we hardly felt like valued customers.

Used the takeaway displayed on their own website. Ordered over the phone and collected. Starters and pad Thai dishes were correct but mains were totally wrong. Ruined a family anniversary!!!!!

Serve both Thai and Indian cuisine here and both very well. Can't fault the service. Great for the area of Lingfield

Table for six booked (8pm), restaurant busy on arrival and ambiance pleasant. Quickly seated and drinks ordered. Food reasonable, we had quite a selection between us, but service was slow not too much of an issue as we weren’t in a hurry but we’re still eating at gone 10pm which was just too late for some of us. Food was tasty, I’m by no means an expert on Thai cuisine, more than enough and reasonable value.

This is quite a big restaurant with about 40 tables. We waited about 10 minutes after being seated to order drinks, then 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive, a further 10 minutes to order, another 25 minutes for our starter to arrive, then another 40 mins for the mains. Other than the time we had to wait, everything was fine!! They really need to employ a few more staff to cope with the number of tables.

Fast service, good food and great atmosphere in the restaurant. Good value for money.

The food is really good as always, cocktails were good with a few tweaks, toilets were okay but the staff were friendly and attentive as always.

Have been before and excellent but on this visit seemed to lack interest. Was a quiet mid week meal and firstly could not enter Thai part of building but were asked to eat in their adjoining Indian restaurant although Thai was still available there. Bit off putting having Thai food with Indian music playing pretty loudly in background. Food was still first class but took three attempts to get entire drinks order for our guests fully delivered and although pretty much empty food took a long time to arrive. Then having ordered a second round when meals arrived this was forgotten so ended up cancelling drinks as had finished meal and still not arrived. Overall lacked the usual care and warmth we are used to and all staff appeared a bit bored with the whole effort . Hopefully a one off but if this had been first visit would not come again

Food always good. Bit what's happened to housekeeping? Windows smeared and dirty, floors the same and the ladies loo not nice! Shame it used to be perfect. Food good though.

Went hear with my two sons for Father’s Day treat,didn’t book but manager said if you can finish by 1.30pm you could have meal as we got there at 12.00 so we sat down and they were very busy with large buffet but still sorted us in good time,tried some starters to share and I had duck in sweet and sour with crispy batter on outside while my sons had fish red curry.The whole meal was a delight and will be back for more and very good as I’ve visited thialand and know the food well.The price is very good as nothing is cheap in lingfield as racecourse puts people there with money to spend and of course alters the price of many things but try this place and you will never want to eat a Thai meal anywhere else.

Amazing Thai restaurant. I have been to many Thai restaurants in the UK and eaten authentic Thai food in Thailand. Last night was probably the best Thai food that I have had. I wanted the scallops cooked a different way that was on the menu. That was no problem at all. Left to have a decent break between having our starters and ordering the main meals. Staff were accomodating and attentive. Most definitely the best Thai restaurant in the East Grinstead area.

Been here every year over the years, today was disappointing. Beef massaman was inedible, sent it back got a chicken version which was filled with star anise (which you can't eat). When we complained about the food the manger/owner just made excuses with not one apology. Immediately said it was the same chef which indicates it isn't, and the place was empty. Not going back next year.

Finally! I’ve not had Thai food in over 8 years, but since it was my birthday, I got to choose and they had to go, bWAHAHAHA. Okay, so it wasn’t really evil of me because I knew my hubs and kid would like it. What I didn’t know is that it would come the family favourite!!! We went at lunchtime (open 12-2) and there was only one other family there, which made me a bit hesitant, but the staff was friendly and welcoming and the venue is beautiful, so I got over that quickly. Then the food started coming out, and besides large servings, it was DELICIOUS. Yummmmmy. Being our first visit, we wound up ordering too much, so we brought some home and it was still yummy as leftovers. We can’t wait to go back.

Good choices of food. All the food we had was very tasty. Service was good and all the waiting staff were polite and helpful. The only drawback is it'sattached to the Indian restaurant next door, customers can walk between the two, and their resourcea do seem to be somewhat split. Overall a nice place to eat.

The restaurant is nicely presented and the service was excellent. The food was the best thing though, we had vegetable green curry, duck Penang (extra hot), sticky rice and noodles. Well worth a visit

Booked online for a Thursday evening as two for one cocktails then plus deals on bubbly. Excellent food and attentive helpful service . Pleasant interior and drinks and food all arrived in reasonable time. Complimentary Baileys was a nice touch.

Visited the restaurant for Saturday lunch with friends. The food was amazing, beautifully presented with fabulous tastes. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The interior of the restaurant very attractive, well laid out and a wonderful atmosphere.

Good service and quality food served pipping hot with attentive staff who listened carefully. Will return soon

Very good value, plenty of choices and you can keep returning until your belly is full. Also a good selection of desserts.
