Tammy's Thai Restaurant in Tandridge

This is not the authentic thai taste but might fit local people here as it is not spicy.

Lunch is from 12-3 we arrived at 2:45 I didn't think we'd be seated, but the lovely staff were only to happy to help out! We got seated, the menu on the day was simple 3 items for about 15 pounds, I went for chicken satay starter, red chicken curry and a sticky rice, it was lovely, set out by the staff on the beautiful tables, I would definitely recommend for people to go here. My daughter and I had 3 items each, plus drinks and a pudding each and it was still under 50 with the tip. We will be back.

Food are awful taste so bland. Not worth the money they charge. Will never go back there again.

£13.95 for a 3 course Lunch, in excellent surroundings, cheaper and tastier, than aot of Greasy spoon Cafes. Give it a try, you won't regret it.

Great little treasure hidden away on the busy A22 but we’ll worth the stop. Genuine ‘home cooking’ from what is obviously a long established family run business. Perhaps not the flashiest nor the most modern but the quality of the food makes up for the slight lack of ambience. Usually worth booking as there are only a fairly limited number of tables and the regulars are often to be seen here

Fair food but overpriced for the lunch special.Price of the set lunch has kept increasing in the last couple of years, but the quality and quantity has slowly evaporated to watery Thai Curry with dubious pork (bacon???) Beef always tough. Given up on this place now, only so much a customer will put up with.

Stopped in on the off chance for dinner but the restaurant was full. The service from initial contact was warm and welcoming, so we decided to get a take away and so glad we did. They gave us complimentary prawn crackers while we waited for our food and even though it was a 20 min drive home, everything was still fresh and hot. It turned one to be one of the best Thai foods we’ve had in a long time. Will definitely be making a booking next time!

While the exterior of the restaurant is pretty run down , inside you’ll find good Thai cuisine … lots of choice .. an excellent red curry and efficient service ( although male staff could risk a smile now and then !)….

Very small portions of food. 3 course lunch is 2 courses in my opinion. I wouldn't call rice a separate course of food?

Booked a table for 4 never been before, I know few people who have been several times not sure why. I think it lacks service not particularly friendly waiters only smiled when I did. I felt like they could have made more of an effort, we told them it was our first time and only had Thai once before. They were not interested in talking about the menu maybe because they didn’t understand or couldn’t hear as did notice one waiter had a hearing aid. Also they were all elderly and didn’t look Like they really wanted to be there. The decor was awful Christmas lights and various old fashioned pieces around the restaurant rather off putting. The food On the other hand was not bad I had tiger cry sirloin beef which was tasty and prawn noodles which were nice. The fish cakes for starter were not nice rubbery. I would go back for a second time and try some Other dishes but not in a hurry.

The food is always fantastic and the service good, always polite and friendly. We moved to the area 7 years ago, found Tammy's Thai about three years ago and are now regular customers. Friends who we have taken always want us to take them back. I think the best Restaurant in thesse parts. Highly recommended

Everything lacks flavour or is deep fried. Beef massoman arrived with potatoes preciously frozen and had broken down and it had whole pickled onions in it rather than the described shallots. Never again. It is cheap cheap ingredients and it was the worst Thai food I have ever tasted.

Lovely food and a very happy atmosphere

So glad to have found the place on our doorstep, which has our favourite northern Thailand dish - Khao Soi! Tammy's version is delicious and we will definitely be returning to try the rest of the menu.

Best Thai food and service great. We go many times

This fantastic Thai restaurant is a true Gem, we did not know it existed until we drove past one day. Checked out the menu as soon as we got home to see they served the best Thai (or any curry) dish known to man - Khao Soi!!! We visited the next day to try it as you dont come across this dish often in England and it was delicious, rich and authentic. It was missing the signature crispy noodles on top but the flavour was incredible. Will certainly be back to try their other dishes and of course more Khao Soi. The staff were friendly and hospitable and the building was full of charm and decorated with trinkets and Thai artefacts. Superb

After a busy travelling to the London Temple strolled over to Tommy’s Thai Restaurant and had a wonderful and tasty meal, staff very welcoming and looked after me very well. Would recommend a visit if in the area.

Great ambience and authentic Thai food

Superb outing, 25 of us visited Tammy’s Thai for lunch today, it was absolutely brilliant. We had pre ordered & chosen from the two course set lunchtime menu. Everyone thought the food was delicious, tasty, authentic, very nicely presented with polite and courteous staff. Thank you so much for making us so welcome, we will be back.

Really poor. One lady staff member was pleasant but the rest of the staff are just amazingly rude, it became comical by the end! Place and decor are very run down and the food is old fashioned, heavily fried and bland. Seems like a favourite haunt for the oaps so I guess if your after a 1980s tasteless chinese feel it might tick the box - otherwise don't waste your time or money, it's not enjoyable

We have always enjoyed the lunch-time menu (now £13.95, not £11.50 as per their website), but haven't been for a while. For whatever reason, they have decided to change the way they serve the sticky rice and it was not good. It arrived at the table in a bamboo container (quite attractive), but once the lid came off, the rice was a stodgy, heavy mass of rice in a plasic bag! You could describe it as sticky, but so sticky it landed on the plate in the shape it was in in the bag and didn't move! Such a shame that they have decided to change to this way of cooking/serving it as the staff and service was, as usual, friendly and efficient. Please go back to cooking your sticky rice properly and not serving it in a plastic bag from the microwave.....

Waited ages for a drink. Had drunken beef which had hardly any flavour. It used to be much nicer.

Saw Tammy’s while on the way to East Grinstead and thought we’d give it a try for lunch on the way back, and definitely the best decision we took that day. When we went inside it was so packed with people, which is always a great sign. We were welcomed even it being so busy and they managed to find us a corner table to sit down, so lucky! We got some starters and mains with rice, and they were absolutely delicious! the food came really quickly as well, super impressed with it considering how busy they were. The prices were really reasonable as well. Also much mention how lovely the people were, always with a smile and so helpful. Definitely going back for more very soon!

Interesting place. If you want service with a smile this is probably not the place from you but the food was good and reasonably priced. Flat fizzy drinks though.

Banging food and service. Maybe a touch light on the heat on one or two dishes but no great shakes. Will defo be going again and again!

My go to for take aways, very authentic and always good service and reliable. The restaurant is also lovely , small and intimate .

We had a family dinner this past weekend and the food was absolutely outstanding. Everyone in the family loved their meal and the staff were very friendly and accommodating when one of the meals came out with too much spice so they re-made it for us. The desserts are also delicious and well worth trying! For the quality of food provided, it is a very reasonably priced menu. The tables are beautifully hand carved and it has a very peaceful and relaxing ambience to it. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would certainly return next time we are in Lingfield.

The lunch time deal is good value but very limited. The soup was lovely the Currey was very good but the salad was bland. It was quite off putting with the staff all wearing masks still in Nov 2022. We happened upon the restaurant on a drive down to Kent. We won't Ben going back.

You could ask for no more the service was fantastic as was the atmosphere. The menue had a good range and the staff were good with their advice. All the food was 100% my only negative was the cost of the wine. I will be using this place more often for an evening out and take aways. A lovely setting for couples too. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Nice place, lovely food. The set menu for 2 people comes with a lot of variety and plenty of food for at least 3! The place is really busy, book in advance, I saw a few people being turned away as they were fully booked. The staff is attentive and polite.

Very outdated with covid signs everywhere. Food was ok but swear my chicken was duck !!! Apart from that not bad for the money but portions could be more

Lots of people saying "Authentic" obviously aren't Thai! The Som Tum was though, delicious. Asked for it to be hot in Thai but was okay spice wise. Really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it. The rest was nice. I tried my friends dishes though they didn't want to share and it was all Anglicised. Shame. It didn't taste bad, just not as amazing as it should be. I got the Chicken Basil (Kai Ka Pao), it was not authentic at all and was quite disappointing for a native, my friends liked it though. Wasn't bad, just not how it should be. It's also strange for me to have anything but plain rice with food, unless you have sticky rice with som tom or green curry. So my friend ordering coconut rice with his red curry made me wince - bit like soaking a nice steak with ketchup. But, hey food is meant to be enjoyed, so who am I to say how to eat it though that's not how it's done back home. My other friend was recommended a prawn dish - usually it's chicken or mainly pork, which I thought was like having mince turkey in a Shepards pie. Overall really nice. We all enjoyed it, but it really wasn't authentic which was a bit disappointing, but that's most Thai restaurants in England.

Friends recommended this place to us - we are so glad we went. The service, the food and the atmosphere was lovely. We will definitely be coming again.

Went last night for the first time having heard many good comments and usually opt for an Indian but fancied a change Absolutely amazing food the sausage and prawn starters were superb gorgeous yellow curry everything spot on Very authentic restaurant lovely staff and not expensive Will certainly be coming back soon

We booked a table at relatively short notice, called an hour before we arrived to say we were running late and going to be two people short. The response was perfect and reassuring. When we arrived we were happily greeted and direct to our waiting table, we were not pressured into quickly order to turn the table round. but ask what drinks we would like to drink and given time to look at the menu. From the time the food order was taken to the food arriving and the was excellent. Good quality and flavours and a reasonable cost. The staff wo served us were great and received a good tip. We all had a great evening (the restaurant was full booked as well so book early)

Burning smell coming from kitchen… then our food arrived burnt flavour noodles chicken green curry tasteless… mainly just coconut flavour. All the usual charm had gone . Really bad experience, must have changed hands in the past year. I brought a green curry from m&s tasted million times better than this place. Small portions too… can’t understand I said to my partner why would you serve this as your never gonna return. We certainly won’t ever bother again.. just horrible food…. Sorry you guys who own it,but you need to hear it … and the poor Paying public before they too feel let down by such poor food …

Decided we’d visit Tammys Thai for lunch so we phoned to book as we know it gets very busy Lovely selection to choose from on the set lunch menu for £12.50 per person. Warm friendly welcome and we were seated straight away. On the lunch menu there’s a choice of starter main and rice/noodles or main rice/noodles with a glass of wine or beer We opted for starter main and rice We had vegetable spring rolls and chicken satay, served promptly were hot and delicious, garnished beautifully Mains weeping tiger beef, prawns with black pepper and garlic sauce and we both had egg fried rice. Both mains were served with plenty of stir fried vegetables in the dish and we both really enjoyed what we’d chosen Service was great, really friendly young lady looking after us and very pleased we booked as the restaurant filled up Such good value and we will return, dinner next time I think

Amazing Authentic food. Very impressed for dine in and takeaway. Cod Red Curry is probably my favourite dish but everything we have had. Reasonable price, great food, friendly team, speedy for takeaway

Mixed experience. Disappointed with the chicken satay, didn't seem like good bits of chicken and not much sauce. 2/3 of the mains were good, one was far too greasy. Flavours were otherwise good, as was the atmosphere and prices reasonable.

Once again, amazing food! One of my favourite takeaway choices - very fresh - 5 stars just on that. Only one suggestion is to add some idea of when food is ready to collect when ordering ASAP online please.

Great Thai food from what seems to be a family restaurant. Mouth watering food and great staff.

Updated, feb 2022. This restaurant is awful. Had to eat their food again because a birthday party chose it. Honestly, it reminds me of Chinese food in the 1970’s. I truly don’t get the positive reviews. Since my first review (following) they are still using polystyrene takeaway containers. No excuse for that. My latest meal was inedible and other members of the party messaged me to say ‘you can’t really call that food’. Review 1: A red curry 'with beef' which actually had so little beef in it, it was a misnomer and should have been named red curry with water chestnut and some beef, if you are lucky. Why this restaurant is still using polystyrene takeaway trays when there are so many recyclable options is beyond me.

1st visit tonight,weve driven by for many years and never been in, wow so good the food was hot and we didnt have to wait long and they were busy, plenty of food fantastic flavours will definatley go back

Had dinner here this evening, food fantastic and great value, only complaint was we had about seven dishes to share for our main course and the beef salad came ten min after the others and again with desert three came out straight away the fourth after the rest had finished, can’t be that difficult to bring them out together.

Sorry to say I was disappointed with my take away. Shame because would have been lovely, flavours were good but the chicken in the curry (that I’d been craving all day) was quite strange. Maybe they buy ready cooked frozen chicken or something? Also I ordered online for collection ASAP & it doesn’t give you any indication of when it will be ready. I monitored the tracker but it never said ready for collection. So by the time I went in thinking surely it’s ready by now, I reckon it had been sat there ages as was pretty much cold. I will probably give them another chance but avoid chicken dishes.

My family have been trying since 11 o’clock this morning to ring it’s now 3:30 in the afternoon it keeps ringing and ringing and ringing and they hang up on us all the time how rude can you get food is good but the customer service is awful

Went for the lunchtime special, was very nice.

My partner and I have been here a few times since the lockdowns were dropped. The food in reasonably authentic Thai food that is served with a smile and even though they restaurent is usually very busy the food does come out very quickly. The menu is extensive and we are gradually working our way around it. Needless to say we will be back very soon!

It’s good restaurant, Pad Thai very yummy, just the portions is not very big, environment nice you will enjoy the meal here.
