Lovely old pub with some gorgeous features. The outside area is massive and nicely done with individual heaters. Food is Thai, delicious and authentic.

Great local. Good selection of beers and wonderful thai all served with a warm smile. Ella behind the bar was very accommodating. Keep up the good work folks.

We dropped by for just drinks and to watch footy, came back one Sunday for juicy plate full of carvery, another visit we fell in love with the Thai food which is authentic and made with love. Owners are so sociable, wife is so attentive and friendly. Huge back garden with lots of seating, staff are helpful & bubbly😉

Saturday eve - had a lovely Thai sizzling beef + egg fried rice. Recommend!

I attended Foresters last week and all I can say is what fabulous service! The vibe behind the bar was great all workers really seemed to be enjoying themselves. I was served by Olivia who was incredibly helpful and kind. I will definitely return!

Make sure that poly pipe is welded well because you said you were open and I was bursting and needed a beer Disappointed

Review is for the Thai restaurant at the foresters. Food was great. Coffee was not great, bitter and from a machine, but most aren't there for the coffee, all in all a good pub Thai meal.

Had our Christmas party here. Very nice. Did not stay overnight.

Brilliant roast, good selection of beers and friendly staff. They provided a private room for 10 couples and baby’s, and made it a very pleasant and enjoyable day.

Awesome pub, great Thai food and the beer garden is very useable. Have kids? Bring them, it's a family friendly pub. It has sports on tv, lots of seating inside and outside including heaters. It's been through a refurb recently, so if youve visited previously, give it another go.

Very nice comfi pub and the Thai food was absolutely amazing! Best Thai Curry I've ever had, and I tried a few around the world ☺️ Fish and beef was also amazing. We all agreed to be back very soon.

If you like screaming kids running around like lunatics whilst the “parents” ignore them and smoke weed this is your place. Bar service is next to impossible to get a drink. Standards have slipped so badly with new management. Jeremy kyles waiting room are a step up from this. Would never go again.

Striking Edwardian pub in a prominent corner location, the Foresters has a very traditional unspoilt interior, retaining its original multi-roomed layout. It's a Fuller's house and the majority of the ales come from the Fuller's portfolio. Food is Thai. I do feel this place could easily be a five star pub, but I've dropped it a star for two reasons: Firstly, whilst the Thai food was very good, with delicious flavours, the meat was not as tender as we had hoped for - perhaps next time we will opt for chicken dishes rather than beef. Secondly, the staff are not as friendly as one would expect when visiting a pub. They're not hostile or anything like that, but it would be nice if they could just be a bit more welcoming. Overall though, this is a decent pub and we would not hesitate revisiting.

Great Thai food ,went with a Thai friend and she too was impressed with the choice and taste .Did not give a 5 as the service was not great as most of the staff were new and some did not even know the menu or details on the meals etc ,The prices were shocking as it is with most of this places where they have increased all the prices to recover what they have lost out with the lockdown which they feel is a good reason ,personally would love to go again but there are other places where they are not abusing the general public’s wallet .lastly the toilets are shocking under the current issues with health and safety .

No hay nada increíble en cuanto a cerveza, pero la comida es excelente. Realmente agradable y auténtico tailandés toda la semana y luego un excelente asado asado un domingo. El domingo se lleva muy bien con un ejército de personal joven y servicial.

I've just had the best carvery of my entire life! A stunningly good choice of meats, a great variety of vegetables and accompaniments. Mammoth portions too. The Foresters now also serves a great selection of beers. Highly recommended!!

I booked the upstairs room for a private party of 30 in December 2019. Thanks to the organisation by the manager Natalie and the other members of her team it was a great success. Everyone was very helpful. The room looked lovely with Christmas lights and the tables arranged round the side of the room, with the disco set up in the window alcove. Several of the guests commented on it. There was no need for any extra decorations. I agreed with Natalie that we would have drinks organised for upstairs with sparkling,red and white wine and discussed the number of bottles in advance that might be required. I was given a member of staff for the evening to take orders for soft drinks( there were some underage teens in the party) and for beer and lager from the bar and also to help with the wine. This worked really well as everyone stayed in the room and added to the atmosphere. I was kept updated discreetly by Sophia who stayed with us for the evening, as to how the wine was going and how the bar tab was going which gave me the control of when to close it. Originally I was not happy with the buffet menu choice and asked if I could have something different. I was introduced to the lovely Thai lady called Nok who does the cooking who suggested I looked through the take away menu and then we could put together a suitable menu and she would price it per head, which is what we did. It was very reasonably priced and the food was delicious and catered for vegetarians as well. She came to help serve as well with another member of her staff. It was all very well organised and the evening went with out a hitch. It was a great place to have a birthday party and I would certainly recommend the Foresters. A huge thank you to everyone who was involved.

We use the Forester regularly but hadn’t eaten from the Thai menu for some time. Five of us ate there in late July and we were all agreed that the food was excellent. Myself and my wife spend two months in Thailand each year and the quality of the food served at The Forester would not be out of place if served there. Good menu choice and value for money. We highly recommend.

We like the food here and the flavours were really nice but both my wife and I noticed that there was very little chicken in our Thai curries today so I assume they had run out?

Very good pub Thai setup in a lovely old purpose-built Fullers pub. Food is consistently good, always go for a pad thai, partner has green curry, kids like peking duck, service is good and hostess is very warm and friendly, nice family restaurant.

The best part of Thai Forester is the service! We love the kind woman who runs the restaurant and takes our orders. She is a gem. The Thai food is very good and we always go away happy. Get the Panang Chicken, extra spicey!

Just had huge Sunday roast - excellent food and very helpful service. Very impressed, would definitely recommend.

The family that runs the Thai food in this pub have been doing so for at least 20 years. We had 1/2 crispy duck to start which was plenty for 3 then 3 first rate authentic tasting Thai curries at reasonable prices (£8 for chicken / £9 for beef) and the portions were generous. This also applied to the sticky rice which can sometimes be served in very small portions. The meal or 3 came to £50 before service. The Thai is not open on Sundays but they do also cook some English food such as steak and chips if Thai is not your thing.

I've recently discovered this gem in the south west of the city. The restaurant is cozy and warm - if the weather is good, you can eat in the beer garden. The staff is Thailandese, they welcomed me in a really nice way with fabulous manners. We had pork ribs for starters - they were perfectly cooked, tender and tasty. After that a kind of Thai fish balls served with a spicy sauce, delicious. For main we've chosen a fish served with salad. It was a fresh sea bass recommended from the chef, it was amazing! We finished the dinner with a chicken curry. It was spicy and tasty, yummy. For drink you can choose from the pub and it's served at the table. This place is definitely recommended, fantastic quality and service. I'll come back for sure soon. Very very good!

Our favourite place for Thai. The pub is fun and lively, there is a restaurant through the bar which is quieter. In the summer you can eat in the beer garden. Authentic menu, great tasting food, quick and friendly service.

Estamos alojados en el" debido a los consejos de amigos. Hemos sido gratamente sorprendidos por el delicioso restaurante tailandés se encuentra dentro del pub. No sólo era la comida de lo mejor, el personal era increíblemente amable y servicial. Nos gusta la comida tailandesa, pero después de comer aquí, será difícil volver a los Estados Unidos - la comida tailandesa que hemos tenido allí ni siquiera comparar. Recomiendo encarecidamente!

It was a family occasion and the food was exceptional. The service was very good. the prices were reasonable.

Good value Thai topped off with bottles of Chimay ale at £3 a bottle made for a great night. Will definitely come again next time we're in the area.

This pub is a local landmark. It is pretty much unchanged from the 1960s (hence why it's always popping up in tv dramas). There are separate bar and eating areas. The decor is authentic - lots of wood and tiles. We had a drink in the bar first before moving to the dining area where we had a lovely 2 course Thai meal. The service was friendly and the food delicious. I had the sizzling beef and it was gorgeous. Portion sizes were just right. Can't wait to go again!

Went for dinner with family was pleasantly surprised the staff were friendly nice atmosphere the food arrived on warm plates we had starters and main all delicious very clean we will certainly be returning in the near future.

We have been to the Thai Forester's numerous times and it is always a great eve. The food is tasty. Staff are excellent and we never have to wait very long. It's always busy, especially at WE so don't forget to book. The Forester pub is also great and we always have fun here.

It's okay, but we wouldn't choose to eat here again. Nothing wrong with the food per se - it's just that the feel is not quite right jammed in on the side as it is within a busy pub.The pub itself is excellent and offers several bars with a good selection of ales and the occasional beer festival.

Durant notre séjour de 3 nuits nous avons diné avec plaisir tous les soirs au pub, les plats sont variés et délicieux, le personnel très aimable et disponible, je recommande vivement cet établissement plein tous les soirs.

Not your usual decor or setting for Thai cuisine. This typically charming corner local English pub, revealed a secret gem. Great ideal sports bar come local to watch world cup rugby and in winter when the several fireplaces are roaring would be cosy place for a pint. The Thai cuisine on the menu is even more of a bonus. Have eaten Thai food in several countries throughout the world and would certainly rate this somewhere at the top of the list, maybe not in first place but a close 3rd or 4th. Extremely good Thai food reasonably priced. Would return again and recommend. If looking for a good pint with some bloody good Thai then don't walk past the the Forester, go in , it's worth it.

We were a little surprised to find a Thai restaurant at the back of the Forester as we hadn’t checked it out and just expected a typical “pub meal”. The dining area was empty when we arrived but by the time we finished almost all the tables were full and there was quite a buzz to the place, so the reputation must be relatively good We had the special starter for 3 and some spicy prawn crackers, then I had the Pad Himaparn Stir fried duck dish, whilst others had prawn Pad Thai and roast duck curry and we shared rice. In hind sight we could have done without the starter as the mains alone were very filling. With drink it ended up as quite an expensive mid-week meal though the cost of the food alone was very reasonable. Service was good, if not at times a little too keen, particularly early on when we were the only people there. If that’s the worse you can say about the service, they are on to a good thing. No optional 12.5% “service charge” was added to the bill here.

I have visited this pub several times with friends and family and also on business lunches. The service is always excellent, Thai food is really good. Highly recommend.

Food is excellent with excellent service. Price is reasonable. Selection is very good so you can avoid spicy dishes if you wish. An English menu is available. The fish and chips along with hamburgers off that menu were very tasty. Top it all off with a Fuller's beer!

Really great meal here with good service, despite being very busy and noisy on Friday night. Loved the mixed starters, pad Thai and massaman curry. Defiantly more casual dining run romantic. £40 for two people. Will be back soon!

Good food, good value, and good service. I have eaten here several times over the years. the main courses are nice. the golden triangle starters are very good. though the dim sum are not as good as can be. Overall, a good priced restaurant in the back room of a veryt good pub, so worth the trip

Great food, excellent service, reasonable price. There was a slight mistake with my order (which I hadn't noticed) which was picked up so I got a second course for free. All smiles from the staff. Beer good too :-)

Always good, always packed, always need to book - says it all really.Massive pub garden so if you haven't booked and the weather is being kind you can always eat outside.

Always enjoyed the food here - fresh and tasty. But since the pub has grown more popular, the prices have crept up and portion sizes ... not so much! So - more of a rare treat these days.

We went for a Birthday celebration last night and had the delicious Thai menu. The service was good and the beer was excellent as ever. The sweet chili fish was cooked to perfection as was the really hot pad prig prawns.I wish they would sort out the poor FSA rating - what is all that about?
