If you order from China Thai Fever in Shipley esp if you use an app - don’t! Ordered last night - food no show - no answer on phone. Then saw that many others with same recent experience and people even going to check and it was closed! Used many times in past but something going on there. Had to fight with Deliveroo a LOT to get refunded - other reviews saying lost their money.

The food isn't an acceptable standard, the "curry" had the consistency of water and looks like any coconut milk that may or may not have been used had split. The food smelled like gone-off sour cream too. I've used this place a lot in the past, and the last 12 months it has gone really downhill. Won't use again.

Shouldn't be allowed business not taking orders customers paying and not receiving their food

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience at China Thai Fever. The starters were quite nice but the main courses were awful. I also think my wine was watered down! The restaurant was cold and for 40 mins we were the only customers. The music was too loud and kept having adverts part way through the songs.

I was eating the staff were excellent and the food was great recommend salt and pepper dishes from here 10/10

If I could give 0 stars I would. DO NOT eat at or order from this place. Food is overly salty, the chips were black due to them cooking rotten potatoes. The chicken was pink and clearly inedible. The “crispy beef” was just chunks of beef swimming in water. Rang up to complain about the standard of food, convinently the manager wasn’t in to speak to. They offered no compensation and were more than rude on the phone.

BAD BAD BAD BAD The food was a take away order. To feed a family and it was absolutely inedible. The food was so salty, the potato in the chips was black/ rotten. The chicken was slimmy. I rang the restaurant to try rectify the problem and they said no manager available. £50 wasted.

Takeaway. Edible. I wish i had read the reviews before ordering. Food wasnt fresh and part of order missing. To many good places locally to return here. Its a shame, it used to be fantastic

Ordered takeaway. The first one had over microwaved tough prawns and no sign of spring onion or ginger. It was replaced and redelivered. Hence gave them an extra star, Prawns better but still no spring onions but hurrah ginger. Very disappointing. Will be finding a new Chinese takeaway.

I would avoid this place at all cost Got a coke which was poured from a bottle and a can, and just tasted like cheap coke. Don’t think you can fault tap water but both glasses were dirty. Prawn toast was rock hard, crispy won tons were tiny and rock hard also. Starter was okay, but my friend got more S&P chicken than I did S&P beef. The main was serve on two different plates, got a mountain of rice but like 4/5 pieces of chicken in sauce? The table had only one pair of cutlery, chairs were sticky and so were the floors even though when we walked in, they were mopping near where we sat? No AC on during a heatwave. We complained about the prawn toast and the waitress was very apologetic. But definitely won’t be returning here.

Absolutely awful. Avoid! The Foo Yung was bulked out with lettuce or cabbage (Difficult to tell tbh) the fried rice was clumped together like stodge and was just boiled rice and far too much dark soy sauce that it was disgusting to eat, the chicken fried rice was incredibly dry and the chicken had the texture of leather - All the food tasted like salt and grease. Also the bland food was cold after arriving an hour later than the expected delivery time :-/ Just hope we don’t get food poisoning!

Ordered a take away last week and had to throw it away. It stunk, the presentation was awful, we ordered chicken fried rice and it turned up in a polystyrene burger box, it smelt like polystyrene and looked like it had been microwaved from a packet. Ive never had to throw food away just because it was so smelly and poorly presented. The delivery driver told me to 'have fun with my meal' had no fun what so ever and will never be ordering from this place again!

Very, very poor. Food tasted microwaved. There was 10 of us and we all got served at different times. Waitresses are very inexperienced and I totally don't blame them. We left before we had all eaten our main courses.

Unfortunately, this meal was extremely poor and we won’t be returning. I would advise others to avoid, as there are many other great eating establishments in the Shipley area. Have visited a few times over the years and were shocked when we walked in. The floors are filthy - as in, months of not having a deep clean and sticky. The napkins were stained and had dirt on them. That aside, we were hoping for the great food we had experienced before. However, it was horrendous and we ended up leaving full dishes on the table, paying and going home. Things are being pre-fried and then fried again in old grease. The curry was only what I can describe as similar to bisto gravy with green curry paste added. The noodles were falling apart from either being over cooked or pre-cooked and reheated. Unusual unauthentic seasonings used in places, like western dried herbs, and vinegar in prawn toast? Granulated white sugar on onion rings? The chicken is identical to the pre-sliced, saline filled sandwich chicken you get in supermarkets, and this is used in every chicken dish. The staff were young, and apologetic. They seemed to know that it wasn’t great and didn’t seem to genuinely care. Carsberg out of a can, and flat pop out of a 2 litre bottle. Saddened and hope that this restaurant can turn things around.

Truly awful food, only ordered from here because 3 other Chinese on holiday, wish we hadn’t, beef with green pepper in black bean sauce was runny and with no green pepper, hot and sour soup was brown and slimy with 1 prawn, 1 piece of beef and pork, it all went in the bin as it was inedible

Ordered via Deliveroo at 6:40, expected delivery time 7:15. Still no food by 8pm - phoned the restaurant to be told that all Deliveroo orders had been cancelled. Unfortunately the restaurant forgot to actually do the cancelling part. If I hadn’t phoned to chase, I’d still be sitting here now with no food and £25 lighter. I felt a bit sorry for the girl on the phone, who will probably get this all evening. 2 hours after ordering, Deliveroo forced a refund and I tucked into a ready meal from Sainsbury’s instead. But by the look of some of the most recent reviews, I think we had a lucky escape. Really disappointing, though it seems we’re not alone in our experience.

Ordered a takeaway which was over an hour late. When calling the restaurant to ask where my food was I was greeted with a loud sigh and then a very uneducated and disrespectful young girl who has absolutely no customer service skills. Replying with "What!!!" When giving my address and then rudely responded with "on its way" before immediately putting the phone down on me. Won't ever be ordering from here again

I ordered food for delivery at 5:15 pm it’s now 7:30 pm and still no food has arrived! I’ve called the restaurant 7 times and no one is answering the phone! This is ridiculous service I am absolutely appalled and will be getting in touch with the bank to make sure you don’t do this to anyone else!

Takeaway food is disgusting. Seriously, don’t waste your money. It is overpriced, dry, , some of it slimy, bland, burnt tasting and very low quality. If I could give it minus points I would.

I ordered food for delivery at 8:08pm. I even spoke to them at 8:10 to amend the order. They texted me at 21:20 to cancel. That is *really* poor. Not the cancelling, that I could deal with. But to cancel over an hour after the order was placed, an hour after I spoke to one of their staff, and too late to order from someone else is, frankly, a new low for me in poor restaurant customer service. I will remember this, so as to not accidentally order again, but also to expound the tale to my friends and colleagues. Well done.

We had the all you can eat buffet, at only £18 per person. Great food and piping hot. Definitely recommend.

We went for a family celebration last night. Within 3 hours of leaving all 3 of us were vomiting even though we all had different dishes. We messaged the restaurant in case others may have been effected but had no response.

Some of the food is extremely salted. The tasty one isn’t served with what was supposed to be in the dish. Staff try their best but although very pretty and ver6 young, they lack training.

ordered a Chicken Satay Gai to start which was Chicken skewers in a mildly peanuty but very salty sauce. Shredded Salt n pepper Chicken was basically crispy chicken with a few onions, no chilli's or spring onions. really bland despite the menu stating "hot". ended up pouring on the leftover salty sauce from the chicken Gai to give it some taste. not impressed with either option tbh

This is a place to visit.. It opened during covid with only deliveries. It is open and has room for large or small parties. The menu is packed with a mix of Chinese cuisine and Thai cuisine. The staff is friendly and customer service oriented. A pleasant experience. Highly recommended.

Great food but freezing 🥶 inside, can't enjoy our meal

Used this place as my go to for over 9 years, WILL NOT BE USING EVER AGAIN. Why when I order food for delivery do I want to be insulted by the delivery person? I'm alright thanks I'll take my business elsewhere, must be great to have so much business to drive regularly customers away!

After 1 1/2 hours waiting for delivery still not arrived. After I rang them it arrived 5 mins later, luke-warm food and the order was wrong. Very expensive mistake, much better options around the area.

Started off well then the service got so slow then kept forgetting to put our orders through, very poor set up no organisation at all. Feel sorry for the poor young girls running round not knowing what to do. Presume no training!!

I'm afraid I won't be going back here again, the food wasn't great. My Thai ribs were not Thai at all, more like Chinese spare ribs!! Our starters arrived at our table separately. My main meal was completely missed off when the food arrived at our table , not sure how this happened as we were the only customers in the restaurant. The waitresses were a little clueless (not their fault as this looked like lack of training). overall very disappointed.

Booked a table for 4 May 9th, took our drinks order and 1st course, had to go to bar to see where our order was after 40 mins. The waitress had finished her shift and not handed over. After we asked about our order they were quick to sort, but we ended up being a course bejimd.Izzy helped us out and was absolutley fab. The food was amazing without doubt but front of house staff need more training.

Never again! First time ordering take away. Had one main of the two ordered missing. Contacted them to advise and they apologised and said they ‘were busy’. Had to ask for the missing main to be delivered as it was not offered. That was over 90 minutes ago and still waiting!!! We basically paid £8 for a portion of chips!!! They must be making a good profit if they take your money and don’t actually give you anything in return!!!

Booked a takeaway on line. Received an explanatory phone call, as I asked a question in the comments. A loyalty points system was explained, which will be a nice incentive to reorder in the near future. Food was delivered promptly and was lovely, with lots of free spring rolls and prawn crackers. Disappointed with the service provided. Once we had received our food we contacted the restaurant as we were not happy with the food we received. We ordered the king prawns in batter for £6.20 and received 4 mini spring roll sized pieces. This was not what was expected for £6.20. The massaman curry had potatoes which were raw, the person on the phone insisted they were cooked but they were not. Additionally we ordered the duck stir fry, on the menu this specifies as spicy, however it was extremely limited on flavour. We mentioned this on the phone and they told us that the dish was meant to be bland and not spicy. Overall I think this restaurant is expensive and this is not reflected in the level of food.

Takeaway order delivery was due at 8.10. Chased delivery as nothing receive by 8.30. Got an updated time of 9.05 33 attempted calls to them as still nothing. They totally ignore the phone.They are still taking orders even though they cant fullfil the ones they already have. Food finally arrived at 9.55. Food cold and the squid you could sole your shoe with.Will never use again. Total waste of time and money.

Restaurant is currently closed but we had another superb take away last night. Everything was perfect, as always.Can't wait 'til the restaurant opens again, so we can see Andy and his friendly team in person and thank them for keeping going and cheering us up during these depressing times. Ordering for the first time tonight Saturday night food arrived 10 minutes early, piping hot and all 4 of us said it was delicious. Will be certainly ordering again.

Although quiet, since it was a Tuesday, service was fabulous, engaging staff, fabulous food, nothing was too much trouble even though our meal was a bit unusual!

We eat here every month when in Shipley visiting elderly relatives. Staff are very helpful and friendly and we are greeted as regulars. We always eat from the Thai menu and can recommend everything we have had, including the massamans, pad thai, and mixed starters. The restaurant is calm and peaceful with interesting decorations. Highly recommended.

Think this place needs to better it’s service there’s no point in ordering food for it to come as a meal and it all come separate, service is shocking ! Staff are forgetful, I literally ate my rice chips and spring rolls whilst still waiting on my noodles which I thought was ridiculous if I’ve ordered as a meal to eat together it should have come together way over priced!

Nice clean restaurant with attentive staff. It was easy to find as on a main road. Complimentary prawn crackers and dips were served.My friend ordered chicken satay but nothing came with it, no dip etc. I ordered crispy seaweed, I'm certain it was not freshly cooked, also they had sprinkled sugar and salt over it. Not nice.My curry was fine. My friend said her stir fry was just ok.I can recommend this restaurant, just that some of the dishes let it down.

Service was an inconvenience, there was no desire or urgency to turn over tables or clear food visibly spilled all over the floor. It was an excruciatingly painful procedure to order a couple of items from the menu and establish which meats were halal. According to my dinner guest (a medical practitioner), the Tom Yong Soup reeked like bacterial vaginosis which the waitress freely agreed was a terrible smelling dish which she would never try, yet insisted was the authentic aroma of Tom Yong Soup as prepared by a Thai chef. The items would not be refunded. Thai Fever has no Food Hygiene Rating yet is allowed to operate with appalling practices.

Was disappointed on May but tnought we would try again. Food uxsed to be lovely delivered quickly and hot. This time it was worse. Long wait and food not hot. Infact the food was awfull. We spent £32 annd honestly i put most of it in the bin. I did try to ring but call was ignored 3 times. Wont be giving them a third chance.

Reasonable takeaway food, never any complaints. Not going to blow your mind but solid nice food. We always get free prawn crackers added to the order, however big the order is.

Never been to Shipley before and we were driving around looking for somewhere to eat before taking up our hotel room offer. We spotted this restaurant and there was parking opposite. It was Saturday evening and the restaurant was not busy. They do not offer their all u can eat on Saturdays. We were perfectly happy and settled for one of their set menu options. We asked to have the soup swapped for something else which wAs no trouble. Our service was polite and attentive. Service of the food was speedy and attractively presented. The premises and loos were clean. We are too much! Photos of our food attached. Delighted to recommend.

Amazing all the time. Seems to be leeting standards slip slightly recently. I hope that doesn't happen more often or it will ruin it. Food is 10/10 chinese. Eating in is brilliant sometimes it's not as good delivered but only recently and still much better than anywhere else. Leaps and bounds ahead of the Imperial over the road.

There is a varied menu or Chinese and Thai food on the all you can eat buffet and normal venue with high quality and delicious vegetarian foods to choose from. I keep coming back again and again.

Me and my girlfriend call in here on a Thursday evening at 7.30. This was are first visit to the restaurant. We chose to order from the buffer rather than main menu. We enjoyed all the food we tried. Are waitress for the evening was Patricia. She was very friendly

Me and my boyfriend love China thai fever, and we dont normally have any problem at all. But we went on 2nd June and we had been there 45mins, just talking and eating. Next minute the tables getting cleaned up, and we get a plate of hand wipes and fortune cookies. We hadnt even asked for the bill or anything to say we had finished. So my boyfriend ordered another dish and the guy looked at him to say really. We had gone for the all you can eat, but we felt very rushed and not welcome. Was not impressed when I left.

i always order from this place as me and my sons love it but as a matter of fact once the delivery driver turned up to my house was quite old in a silver car and as he gave me the food my 5 year old boy was also at the door and he kept steering at my son so i asked what his problem was and then he turned his head around and got back in the car

I ordered from the Thai menu, the grilled chicken satay followed by tiger prawn massaman curry and salt & pepper chips, both courses were piping hot and very tasty. It was my first visit and the restaurant was very quiet for a Saturday evening, service was good and staff attentive, I will definitely visit again and look forward to trying more dishes.

Ordered a takeaway pleasantly surprised it came quickly but the food was not very hot and sweet and sour pork balls with NO pork balls resulting in having to wait for them meant the food had to be microwaved ....wont be ordering again

Had a lot of take aways. Very good menu and really prompt delivery. Appreciate on a large order the extras they send free. However in February we were very disappointed by a very long wait and after several phone calls arrived slightly cold. Not usual standard but when complained it appeared they were defensive

We visit China and Thai Fever every four weeks or so when staying in Shipley and can highly recommend both the service and the food. We are always made to feel really valued customers and even when very busy ( as tonight) the standard of service and interest is maintained. We always eat from the Thai menu and can recommend the lamb massaman and all the various red and green curries, plus the Thai mixed starter. I wish we had somewhere as good as this near home.

Ordered a take away from here last night, part of my order was a portion of salt and pepper chicken. When it arrived there were only 6 pieces of chicken in the container.

Visited on a Thursday evening with friends. The welcome on arrival was great, the staff were all very good. We did the £15.99 all you can eat buffet and we all thought the food was excellent, as was the speed of service. Will definitely return....

Having passed this restaurant for years and never really noticed it before, we spotted it and decided to try out their a la carte all you can eat meal and it was lovely. They offer this for every one Sunday- Thursday. Service was very prompt, portions were hot, plenty, freshly cooked and tasted good.

We took advantage of the £14.99 dinner menu where you can order as many dishes as you want. All food ordered was lovely. We had a mix of starters; chicken & sweetcorn soup, crispy seaweed and chicken satay skewers. Mains included green Thai curry, coconut rice, phad Thai and beef in black bean sauce.

After a gap of about 3/4 years we decided to revisit this restaurant. We fell out with it do to the poor food of previous owners. I understand there are now new owners & new chefs . Anyway the staff were friendly & attentive on our arrival & helpful despite the place being pretty busy. THe food was of very good quality , ample servings and a better choice of drinks since we last visited. All in all, very pleasing occasion to what used to be a favourite of ours but went downhill badly for a while. Will definitely be back a lot sooner this time

myself and my husband had a evening with friends and work colleagues to celebrate Christmas has it was the time everyone could get together and the food was nice and the drinks were ok would go again just myself and husband would recommend anyone to try for themselves.

We visited for the first time when we took our tutors for the buffet meal on 12 January. As there were 17 of us in the party, we had the upstairs room. The staff were all lovely, friendly and welcoming. They were extremely attentive and were really helpful at advising us what to try.

I’ve never been treated with such rudeness and distain upon walking into a restaurant. After walking in and speaking to an older, grumpy looking man, and requesting a table for my family, he looked at me as if I was stupid for not booking a table and started to walk away from me telling me it was going to be half an hour to wait.

I have been here before and ordered takeaway as I am local. Always been great. Tonight went to celebrate occasion with friends. Only table in there. Made to feel guilty for being there. Treated appallingly. Huffed and puffed at us! Just wanted to leave. One star given because food was lovely. Gentleman that served us though needs to be sacked, clearly doesn't like being Round eople. Dreadful. Even cracked his knuckles, alongside colleague showing his frustration of serving us! Incredibly rude!! Would not go back, recommend or order takeaway. Such a disappointment. Ordered our takeaway from China & Thai Fever because our usual Chinese Takeaway "The Imperial" at Shipley was closed. bought 3 meals - 1/4 duck with trimmings - Chicken and Cashew nuts with chips and side serving of curry sauce - and mine was stay chicken with noodles. The food arrived fairly quickly but on first glance the chips looked and tasted terrible - like frozen chips and only luke warm. My husband said the chicken was not great and taste poor in his chicken and cashew dish - curry sauce ggod. My son loved his duck dish - I loved the noodles but the Satay Chicken had no Satay sauce in it that I could taste at all - it was just in a gravy and very bland. Disappointing as read great reviews. Free vegetarian spring rolls and prawn crackers were a nice touch but once again the spring rolls were very bland and barely warm. Overall cost was more expensive at £26 for the three dishes than the Imperial for same type of choices - taste wise inferior (apart from duck and noodles ) so myself and my husband threw away all the chips (so curry sauce went too as that usually goes on the chips and half of our main dishes. wont be ordering again.

We go to this restaurant almost every week to enjoy the "served" buffet . The food is always freshly prepared and of top quality. The staff are very friendly and the service is superb.
