I've been here a few times now and overall it's a good place to eat, with some downsides Food - on the whole, most of their dishes are good. Everything is Halal, which is great. The dishes feel like they aren't fully authentic, the spices feel toned down for instance (even if you request spicy). I wouldn't recommend the red curry as its nothing like what you'd expect. It's more a creamy, coconut milk based curry which lacks the traits of a red curry. I even had to ask the waiter to make sure they gave me the right curry. Portion sizes vary but generally are pretty reasonable Service - the staff are definitely friendly but the service can sometimes be slow. The service has felt a little disorganised each time we've gone, with the service being sporadic and inconsistent. On one visit, they forgot entirely about a dish that we ordered and cooked everything else Price - it is a little on the expensive side, even considering its central location. They don't accept cash which is quite bizarre

The Masaman curry was absolutely delicious, full of rich and authentic flavors. Adhi provided excellent service, making the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Sindhi and Masthan were waitress and cook / or other way round as not familiar with names. Waitress was very pleasant, helpful and informative about the spice level options. We enjoyed our meal and the relaxed informal ambiance. Thank you.

We were served by a boy who spoke Spanish and was very attentive from the first moment, we greatly appreciated it since we had doubts about the menu. We ordered starter rolls (not worth it considering the size and high price), and noodles. These were very good and it was a sizeable dish. The price seemed high to us (€30 per person), taking into account that it is still a noodle restaurant inside a shopping center.

Milena was lovely and food was great!

The atmosphere of the restaurant is good, but I had the worst Tom Yum Goong soup. The topping beef was tough and fishy. I hope you change the recipe. It's the worst. For some reason, customers seem to be eating stir-fried noodles.

Food portion good and tastes well. Adhi's service is excellent, giving good food explanations and recommendations. Payment is helpfully quick, especially as we are rushing somewhere else as a tourist. It is just the atmosphere is a bit too dark/dim for us which we are not a fan of.

We had a wait time of 10-15 minutes but ended up only waiting about 5 which was nice. Staff were great! Very polite, attentive and quick in their service, especially for such a busy time of year. The food also looks as good as it tastes, some dishes even allow alterations on spice levels!

As of this writing the meat use is halal (picture attached). Flavour rather authentic to what I tasted in Bangkok but just less spicy. Tom Yum is missing something but not sure what. Phad Thai is great. Highly recommended. To find it's in St James Quarter lower floor at the end of the mall.

The location might be a little tricky to find if you are navigating on google maps. Head inside the shopping center and take the escalator down to the food court section. The food is authentic, flavorful and delicious. Our waitress Sindhu helped a lot in recommending the vegetarian friendly dishes and provided great service. Highly recommended

Quick to seat us , super friendly service , yummy food , very accommodative of my toddlers , good kids menu , great vibe! Sindhu and Adi were superb ! Five stars!!!

Sindhu; our server was very tentative, patient and all round excellent. She explained all the options, listened without interrupting, brought a picture menu then made excellent suggestions as to what would be best which was spot on. In this day and age, many hospitality workers have a short attention span, always in a hurry, couldn't care less or not bothered and are in the wrong profession. Sindhu is an asset so seek her tables if you go there. The food had very good flavors, authentic and well made, good portion and well worth the price we paid for it. The atmosphere was good, the music was palatable and the setting was good.

Visited Thai kitchen yesterday, and it was a great experience. Excellent service from Milena! She was incredibly friendly, kind, and patient. Without hesitation, she was able to answer all questions and explained the menu to us very well as it was our first time dining here. Not only that she had checked on us a few times after receiving our food. The food was delicious and full of flavour, especially the Thai fried rice and tofu thairacha bites. Great experience overall, I will definitely visit again!

I had dinner last weekend, and it was a lovely experience. The waiter, David, kindly explained the menu to me and gave me some advice since it was my first time at the restaurant. My pad thai loaded was fast and yummy. Great food and perfect service—I’ll be back soon!

Kind of loud for my taste, but the food was amazing full of flavour. The service was immaculate. Would suggest this place to anyone looking to dine somewhere with a unique atmosphere especially if you’re seated on the “box” tables on the left of the store.

Underwhelming! Cheap fast food sold exclusively. Chicken curry rice should be renamed Onion Curry with thinly sliced chicken slivers. The dessert was good though.

We had a really amazing experience at the Thai Kitchen,food was wholesome and we were amused by the hospitality specially by Sindhu who had taken special care for making sure the food is customized to our requirements.

Food was fine but staff tried to take payment twice during the middle of my meal. It's polite to either take it at the start or at the end. I also asked to have the service charge removed and then the staff member said she would have to ask the manager and then in the end my partner was still charged for it. Strange service

Wonderful Thai restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh. My waiter Adi greeted me tonight and looked after my first experience @Thai Express. He was passionate, attentive and made great suggestions. Happy to hear the allergy question and warnings if the food could be spicy. I have had the Thai sriracha chicken wings and the "loaded" pad thai. Both dishes were quick and tasty. Will be back for sure!

The food is excellent. We came back on the second day as we were very happy with every dish we ordered on the first day. The staff members are lovely. Milena, David, Weila and Sindhu were very warm and welcoming. Milena attended us on both consecutive days of visit. She’s an extraordinary asset to the Thai Express Kitchen, who made our meal all the more special! I’d highly recommend this restaurant.

Amazing experience, came here yesterday and will definitely be back! I was lucky enough to have been served by Milena who was kind, energetic, and overall very pleasant. I had tried the recommended dish satay stir fry which was beyond my expectations!

Food was lovely, but Sindhu made our experience really special by being super attentive and kind! Wonderful waitress I hope she gets the recognition she deserves!

Worst Tom yum soup I’ve ever had Ordered a satay and it was way too salty - and not even a satay

Bad experience with the manager who cancel our order while it was served because my 7 years old son brought fries from other shop.

Food was delicious . Cater to vegan diets and intolerance. Starters and mains came all together. Kids plain noodles and soy sauce didn’t come with the broccoli we had ordered but could have been a miss communication between waiter and ourselves. We’ve been a few times and always loved the food. Service was great. My daughter loved her balloon 😊 Thanks for a lovely lunch. 💛

They took my order and after 30 minutes they remembered that we existed and brought a cold curry and they didn't complete the order because we ordered other dishes and they never arrived.

Everything was sooooo good, from the atmosphere to service and the food! If I could give 10 stars, I would. We were very satisfied. I had an amazing dining experience with dishes that were truly a must-try! The Pad Thai Satay Chicken, Crispy Spring Rolls, and Thairacha Prawns were all flavorful and delicious. The service was exceptional, especially from Sindhu, who provided excellent suggestions and was attentive throughout. Her warm and friendly behavior really enhanced the meal. The restaurant offers great value for money, and I’ll definitely be visiting again, this time with more friends. Highly recommended!

This is one of those places that's got everything right. From really cute and colorful atmosphere to a well designed menu filled with rich and layered flavors. Staff were incredibly nice and friendly. Would definitely recommend the Chilli chilli Bangkok 😋

Just to make you aware my server was called Vili a chap from Fugi. He was the most attentive server I have ever had. The restaurant is very clean, food fresh and yummy all round a great experience I reported all of this to Claudia your manager, who asked me if I would mind to leave a review. Modern, if you take a closer look, some of the furnishings are not really clean. The service employees take their time. The food is anything but authentic Thai cuisine. Price/performance is not right. Danger! A 10% service charge is automatically added to the price, even if you don't want it.

The starters were excellent but for the price some prawn crackers for free would take the sting out of the cost. Almost £3 for 5 prawn crackers? I had fried rice with battered chicken, it was tasteless, some of the rice was stuck together and the chicken was hard, overcooked or reheated. My partner had pad Thai which he said was good. The meal was expensive for the portion sizes. There is a well known Japanese style chain restaurant that does a much better pad Thai and fried rices dishes than here and it’s slightly cheaper too.

The rice noodle doesn't be cooked enough time which tastes raw and hard. I feel stomachache after the rice noodle. However the service is very good

Added the service charge without asking. If waitress ask is everything is OK? and I say yes that doesn't mean I want to pay extra 10%. But since It was my girlfriends birthday I didn't want to make a fuss. It's unprofessional way of doing business.

I ordered in, the food took more an hour to get to me and most of it was cold. The food quality is not good, the protein portion is very small, it is blend, fat and basically not tasty. I will never order there again, nor I’d recommend it to anyone else.

Needed a little of asian spiciness while on a three-week vacation in the UK. Thai Express provided us with warm, comforting, spicy Thai food. Special thanks to Adhi for your service.
