Situated LG in St James Quarter. Amazing atmosphere, great food! 5 stars. Returning in 2025 to update review. I am yet to have Tom Yum soup as amazing as this restaurant.

Had a great experience! The food was excellent and the service was even better. Our server, Sindhu, was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend!

We had lunch here while visiting St James Quarter. Everything we ordered was very good. The fried rice was flavourful and spot on, and the Pad Thai was also delicious. We appreciated being able to choose our preferred spice level. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we were well taken care of. The setup was unique, especially the cozy booth seating.

Good atmosphere, food is delicious. Btw, ADHI was so nice, good service. We will eat again, recommend PAI THAI with chicken!

Very nice place with a great wall and seating. The food was excellent, well seasoned and juicy ingredients. The Satay PadThai was excellent, as was the pineapple fried rice.

Food was fine, service was good, but there's just no reason a tofu pad Thai should cost £15... Almost £17 with the 10% service charge... I mean, it's a pad thai (inside a mall at that)

We got the Aubergine Stir Fry and Pad Thai Loaded, both were absolutely sensational😍 service was excellent and fast. One of my favourite places now! Total came to about £44 for 2 people, so a bit on the pricey side, but absolutely recommend :)

Solid Thai food place with a great vibe. The phad se ew noodles are thinner than usual. Sauce tastes great and the papaya salad was HOT but good.

Fabulous 🫶🏼 The food was one of the very best Thai food I’ve ever had and I had a lot 😂 but this experience was incredible divine. The service is excellent and very attentive. Don't be fooled by the fact that the restaurant is located in a shopping centre. The quality of the food and the service are first class and superb 👌🏼

Disappointed!! I beleive staff do not underdtand what is the thai food is! I ordered thai fried rice and got black looking rice - half cocked & floating in a middle of soy sauce pond and some shape like fried egg on top of this weird mix...what is this? My friend ordered fried rice basil and he got strange looking dish and fried egg on top of the puzzled mix , we hardly ate 1/4 dish each ..we dont know what we ate to be honest!? I guess the chef doesnt know the difference between fried rice and other food. Went home and felt sick. Got diarrhoea. Guys go attend some food training courses. You are so lucky we didnt reoprt to food safety. Amazing you are getting customers and operational.

We stumbled upon this well-known canadian chain. Food was delicious. Daughter is vegetarian and it was easy to choose a dish for her. Service was really helpful, a bit slow I have to say, but server was kind. Totally recommend it.

We had dinner in this restaurant and we were very pleased with both the cuisine and the service thanks also to Sindhu who was very nice and helpful.

We ate the very spicy version of Massaman curry and jasmine rice for dinner. Sindhuja was our waitress who was very kind and understanding. We got a fish and prawn sauce based curry initially and she asked if we were vegetarians and kindly exchanged it for the vegetarian option without any reservations. We really enjoyed the service by her and the manager and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some great Thai food.

I was invited and went there scared as it has all changed. The waitress came up to our nest (so fun) and told me my hair was beautiful. After 6 years fighting illness I was so happy, she meant it. A you late teen complimenting my hair is the strongest loveliest thing that has happened to me in 6 years. Honesty 10/10 Service Same Food. Same Price. Normal Thank you so much for the kindness from a beautiful waitress too a 55 year old hermit. I’ll never forget it x

We went to Thai Express Kitchen for lunch with my family. We ordered pad Thai with buttered chicken and prawns. A lovely staff member named Sindhu suggested adding a fried egg on top of the dish, and it was exactly what we needed! The food arrived hot, flavorful, and with the perfect amount of spice, as we chose the medium level. My mum, who works in a kitchen, noticed the cook preparing dishes over high flames and was impressed by everything. The friendly atmosphere and attentive staff made it a great experience for us. We will definitely be back and will recommend the place to everyone!

The food was absolutely amazing, and the waiters were super kind. I couldn't help but notice though they were thoroughly understaffed, and were definitely under a lot of stress and pressure. Some people had to get their food to go including my friend (our fault as we planned badly) and they didn't have much time to clean up or take orders. They apologised profusely for the wait but I really feel whoever's in charge should give staff more hours!

I loved the ambiance of the space. Sindhu was particularly great with high level of professionalism and customer service. I can’t recommend this place enough if you’re looking for an authentic Thai restaurant in Edinburgh. I frequently eat here!

The dishes were really good and served quickly. The waitress was very nice and advised us on the food portions. We also had a tasty Scottish sour, which was a nice touch. The place only accepts card payments, so keep that in mind. Overall, it was a great experience.

The food was delicious, I liked the tom yum soup, it is spicy so if you can't tolerate spicy food you can either request a less spicy level or let them know they not make it spicy. Atmosphere was really nice, I highly recommend this place. Service from Zineb was good, she was nice and welcoming. I would not mind coming again.

Stopped in for dinner with my wife while visiting the city today. Not very busy, maybe 3 other tables sat. Sat around for 15 minutes without anyone coming to serve us until we eventually decided to leave after we saw all the servers just standing around socializing. On the way I out I stopped by the group of servers standing around and told them we were waiting for 15 minutes without service and the hostess said “sorry I was taking the other table’s order” pointing to the table next to us. I’m not sure how this explanation makes sense when they’re just standing around and the restaurant is mostly empty.

We decided to come try Thai Express and left deeply disappointed. We sat and waited for 15 minutes to order and not a single server came to check in on us. Occasionally we’d notice the servers just standing around and still not approaching us. Not great vibe in the resturaunt either. Do not recommend.

I am deeply disappointed with our experience at Thai Kitchen Restaurant. My family was turned away because our autistic child, who has specific food preferences, brought his own meal. This approach is incredibly disheartening and discriminating towards families with children who have special dietary needs. It's a shame that the restaurant couldn’t display an ounce of understanding or flexibility for those who might need an alternative to their menu due to medical or developmental conditions. This was a truly upsetting experience and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone who values inclusivity and compassion.

Popped in on route to cinema on Valentines night. Hadn’t booked but the staff were brilliant and managed to fit us in. We explained that we were short on time as the film was starting soon. Thai express food is amazing & they serve it very quick. The pad thai is amazing, go for greeen curry very spicy, you will thank me later. Kudos to Adhi, he is very attentive to our request and he really give the extra mile to our table. Of forgot to mention, this is our 3rd time here, or more!!

The kitchen was a disaster, more than 20 minutes waiting for a dish, and that was when the restaurant was not at full capacity, 10 minutes later they served it to me. At least they discounted the service charge. The pad thai was good, the bad thing is having to eat it in a hurry.
