Thai Express in Birmingham

Not woah but quite tasty compared to all other places in the station. The cutlery and plates are not reusable which is not super great and feels cheap but it works. The service is fine.

I tried Thairacha chicken bites today, and it was so bad, hard to chew and barely warm, it’s like it has been warmed in the microwave. I don’t recommend it. Very bad experience.

Very quick service, great tasting food (pad Thai, soup, and green curry), and reasonable priced for town. Only thing l would change would be the wooden plates that the food is served on, and the wooden fork, spoons, and knives. I know it's eco-friendly, but just not right for this type of food. Chopsticks are also available.

I was at Thai express today and the service was excellent Diego is the main man, nice and kind and food is amazing, highly recommend it

I brought my mum here 2 years ago and the food was delicious. Loved it! We came back tonight and the food wasn’t as nice. Someone in the kitchen is really heavy-handed with the soy sauce, it was overpowering and ruined the meal. However, the staff are young, professional and always pleasant. Hope this feedback is taken on board as I’d love to come back.

Thai Express Birmingham really impressed us with their wonderful service. The staff were super friendly, polite, and made us feel so welcome from start to finish. The food was good and the kindness and attentiveness of the team truly made our visit memorable. Sometimes, great hospitality makes all the difference, and this place certainly delivered on that front. We’ll be back just for the warm atmosphere and lovely staff!

We had an amazing spicy as per our taste buds stir fry and battered chicken thai it was just superb ..and special thanks to chef who recommended as per our preference!!

My daughter ordered general Thai takeaway and we asked no tomatoes and no pineapple. The two members of staff who served us were not listening to us and were busy perving at other women walking past. The chicken was burnt and had no taste. We had to get something else for dinner. Water of money

I come here every time I'm in Birmingham for work. I love it! The food is delicious and the staff are so friendly. Especially Diego ! He's very chatty and friendly! Would definitely recommend! :)

First time having Pad Sew Ew Medium spice - with chicken Got it to takeaway - was still hot when I got home after about 20 mins Fantastic, not too heavy and not too oily! My new favourite noodle dish Cooked fresh and lovely staff Thank you!

Today me and my wife wanted to try new cusine We both went to thai express We were confused what noodels we should try We asked one of the front guy he was so rude We ordered tom yum and thai noodel the food was sososo bad tomyom was like chocolate soup i think they add sugar in it and the noodels was overcooked. Thai noodles was average. We had stomachache after going back home Plz make food delicious how it should taste And plz clean the restaurant make it neat and clean. Would never recommend this restaurant I am really sad 👎

Fairly healthy for fast food with actual vegetables. I lived the Tofu and broccoli! Some vegan options and staff could answer my questions about ingredients. Would go again if I have to wait for a train. It's upstairs in the corner.

Not good. “Aubergine sauce” had 1 single piece of aubergine, the chicken was precooked slices, sauce was way too salty, and couldn’t taste much other than salt. Only reason I kept eating was because I was starving and hadn’t eaten all day…

Estuve allí unas 14 / 15 veces. Siempre que vamos a la plaza de toros Thai express es imprescindible. Esta vez no nos dejaron sentarnos diciendo solo comida para llevar. Pero la mitad del comedor estaba lleno y los niños estaban cansados. Estuvieron abiertos otras 2 horas. El tipo de recepción fue tan grosero. Llevamos a un amigo con su familia. Thai Express puede hacer mejores negocios si contratan personal decente. 2 estrellas por la calidad de la comida.

I’m Thai and I always order the pad thai everytime I come to Birmingham and it’s been tasty and consistent everytime for the last 1-2 years of eating here. The Pad Thai doesn’t taste like something you’d get in Thailand but in my opinion, it’s different and favors towards my tastebuds, and it’s so tasty (I always order very spicy). It’s my favorite takeaway to order and I’m sure asians enjoy this dish

I love this place! The food is super delicious, was served by Lima and Diogo. They are very friendly and give you good recommendations. We got chicken fried rice and noodle, absolutely love them! Would definitely recommend everybody to come here and try out these delicacy 💯💯💯

Not impressed with the quality of the food at all. I ordered the Thairacha Wings Hot Box (Wings and Chips). The sauce had a chemical taste so made the wings unpleasant. As for the chips, they were close to raw in the middle. Not a place I will be returning to.

My friend and I stumbled into this restaurant while waiting for our train. We ordered the chicken and beef noodles. The food tasted ok but we got sick on our journey and as i am writing this review, we continue to have diarrhea. Will never recommend.

I was looking for a quick vegetarian dinner on this lovely evening and came across this gem. The staff were pleasant - ( I know how hot it can get in a kitchen! Especially on a hot day) The food came quick and I would definitely recommend Thai express to anyone who’s looking for food in grand central. The tofu stir fry with sticky rice had a nice Smokey taste to it. I am overwhelmed and will certainly be returning.

Pad Thai was beansprouts mainly. Rice was overcooked mush. Worst Thai ever. Ended up binning it and making A Sandwich

Thai Express offered a mixed experience with their Pad Thai, featuring undercooked tofu and raw vegetables. While the self-service setup fostered a friendly atmosphere, the food quality fell short of expectations. Despite the convenience of self-service, the lack of attention to detail in the dish and overall inconsistency in the dining experience left much to be desired. It's disappointing that such potential wasn't fully realized, making it unlikely for a return visit.

Absolutely pissed at the appalling service!!!! Bought pad Thai for myself, spicy with extra prawns and a mild pad thai for my pregnant friend who has severe heartburn. Pregnant friend ended up with my food labelled as mild, I end up with mild as a newborn baby's diarrhoea labelled as my spicy extra prawn meal. Absolutely fuming, hangry as f right now..what a waste of £23!

Food was quite average. Reasonable price. If you’re hungry you can go and quick grab. But this is not authentic Thai food. Veg rolls were already pre-made and kept under the light. Would not recommend.We bought Pad Thai and Fried rice. Fried rice is better compared to padthai. Not a Good place to sit and chill. It is more of Takeaway station. Apart from that people are nice and friendly in the restaurant.

Great little halal Thai place in central Birmingham, ideal to grab a quick bite. The food was lovely, decent portion, and the staff were attentive. The atmosphere was lively as it was in the middle of a food court in a shopping centre / New Street Station. The only negative was that there wasn't a restroom in the restaurant, but public toilets were apparently not too far away.

I placed an order via Uber Eats. 20 minutes into the order, they cancelled it saying they didn't have time???? Seriously.... Then don't accept the order to begin with...

We sat down after a chaotic train journey, we were hungry. We noticed that the table next to us had abandoned their food and thought that wasn't very nice. But one bite into the twice fried chicken and I don't blame them for leaving their food. This was so bad.

the only thing bad was that i wanted more spring rolls. also it’s on the second floor just in case your spending 20 minutes trying to find it, speaking from experience. food was an immense experience.

I've been visiting Thai Express every Saturday and usually have the chicken wings and Thai green curry. Amazing. But the customer service is so poor and shoddy. The staff are so miserable. But I try to ignore this as I love the food. Most recently, I went on Monday this week and oh my word, I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent customer service provided by Diago. Well done young man. Your management can learn a lot from you. Keep up the fabulous work, dazzling Diago.

Disappointed with my recent experience ordering takeaway compared to my previous experience of dining in. I ordered a takeaway today via Uber Eats. The order was supposed to take 45 minutes. It took an 1 hour 30 minutes to arrive. They didn't use proper takeaway containers. It arrived with sauce spilled everywhere. The sauce was salty and the rice was burnt. Was not good value for money.

The chicken was gassy!! Literally tasted like gas! The noodles were flavorless and the pudding were like mixing rice and plain yogurt that you can make at home! Very disappointing experience

The food portions were small. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and they gave small portions of the chicken and more rice. How cheap is this place! It was no flavour at all. Deffo try Mrs Chews which is just opposite. They give bigger portions and the food is much better.

Quick service. Reasonable price and quantity. But not the best taste as Thai food. I don't know how authentic this restaurant is as 'Thai'.

Often a go to for me and my friends whether passing through town or getting food in. My go to is the Pad Thai which is definitely skewed to the western pallete but is always tasty and fresh with that lovely peanuty crunch. The portion sizes are great and the chicken is usually nice and tender making for a good comfort eat. My friend usually gets the Pad See Ew and she says it always hits the spot too. In terms of the staff - they have always been kind a courteous when I have been in person (but that hasn't been for a while now).

Great flavours. I've always wanted to try something of this sort that requires a spoon and form to eat 😁! This hits the spot on so many levels. However, do not get this if you are in a rush, unless you're ok with sipping out of a paper bowl. Would definitely return and try the other dishes.
