Planet Spice has been our go to takeaway since moving into our house. Their food is plentiful, delicious and they’re very vegan friendly. I decided to leave a good review after I received a phone call asking if we indeed intended to order a chicken rice because most of the other items on the order were vegan. Really impressed with how they reached out and checked when a lot of other establishments won’t do that! For those with dietary requirements, know that Planet Spice (or the workers who dealt with our order, at least) will take them seriously.

Very, very disappointed and a big waste of £33. The poppadoms were stale, onion salad, 75p for the smallest pot. Food was tasteless and very greasy. We will not be using this place again. This place costs around the same as other takeaways and unfortunately falls far short in the quality of the food it offers. Be careful when choosing your Indian food.

Discount advertised not honoured!😡😡😡 went to pick up food expecting a 15% discount as advertised, was told we had a discount last week 😡

Flavour of the food gone poor , bit dry less sause in Balti , nan bread was burnt , portion gone less , no poppadom or salad and sauce , Thought I give 2nd try , the place used to be good , think it time move somewhere else

Had to chase a take away order from them, eventually took nearly 90 minutes to arrive. Starters luke warm an tasteless, mains the same, my Rogan was dripping with ghee and had what appeared to be some chicken cooked with a quarter of a tomato & then topped with a portion of under cooked brown onions (not even mixed in). Sagwala like all other dishes, no flavour. Had used then since they opened in 1999, NEVER AGAIN.🤬

totally ignored order note and didnt do mild curry as requested. stupidly outlandishly hot, even a spice lover would have trouble with this. i used to be able to handle spice but not anymore so specifically requested an extra mild dansak. three bites and i feel like throwing up. thanks for another wasted £15. never again.

Made an order over the phone. I was told 40 minutes. Took over an hour. Then both of our curries were only warm, not hot. We had to microwave them. One order was wrong. One nan was burnt, and the rice was a blob that needed to be broken up with a knife!

Had the set menu for £12 i think it was, Madras was beautiful, rice was lovely and had a shami kebab.... All was beautiful 👌🏻 The boss have us some free chips as well i would definitely recommend.

The staff are extremely rude. Ordered on Uber eats. Waited over an hour and a half for the order to arrive with items missing. Call the restaurant and was basically told it was all in the bag when it left the shop, and the only thing they could do send the missing items but would take 45 minutes. The customer service is shocking and staff are very rude.

Ordered from here twice now. It arrived in good time, the food was amazing, and the best thing is the clearly labelled vegan options! Loved the mixed vegan sides deal. We got that plus a veg balti and some kind of saag dish. Everything was fantastic, our favourite Indian takeaway!

Just had a selection of starters and curries from planet spice,it was without a doubt the most tastiest curry we have had in a long time.needless to say we will be using this curry shop from now on.what a lovely experience bwith all of the added extras.

Our usual take away wasn't answering so tried here. WOW the food was fantastic piping hot and free extras added bonus . A complete dining experience even down to hand towels/wipes and chocolate mint. All dishes loaded with meat and taste. Highly recommended our new saturday/ midweek treat location.

Last time was her was 15 years ago! Moved back to the area. Still as good chicken and mushroom balls lovely, chicken tika tender salad to go with fresh poppadoms excellent thank you guys for a lovely meal 😋

BEST TAKEAWAY / DELIVERY IN BIRMINGHAM Wow absolutely amazing I'm a real foodie tried nearly every takeaway in Birmingham and this is the best by far. The service and delivery is so quick staff are so nice and the food is out of this world. I had a Tandoori Lamb Chops starter with a chicken and mushroom Balti, special fried rice and free papadom with salad, mint sauce onion, 2 free chocolates and a hand wipe for £12.00 unbelievable and the food is amazing ignore any negative reviews they are rubbish. Thank you Planet Spice perfect never going anywhere else.

Update: Changed my review from 5 stars to 2 stars, to 4 stars now. As we gave it another try a few weeks ago. It's definitely improved to last year , but it didn't knock me off my feet and isn't as amazing as it was 4 years ago. It's solid, good food, but not the best curry place in South Birmingham anymore. Left really good reviews for this one in the past but the chef changed and food was awful and completely different than before. Had a text a while back that the old chef is back so decided to give it another go today... Bad idea. The Chicken Tikka Masala Meal I ordered was missing the Rice / Naan it was meant to come with. The sauce was watery, lacking flavour and chicken was quite tough. The family Naan was so dry and crunchy on the outside. The spicy poppadom was a store bought one :( Such a shame as this was our regular Indian, had the best Indian Food in South Birmingham, up to about 1.5 years ago. Had a really good reputation too. Get the old chef back or at least the recipes

Decidió volver a visitarlo, ya que está bajo nuevos propietarios. El personal fue muy educado y atractivo. La comida ha mejorado desde mi última visita. La carne tenía una textura agradable y las especias suficientes para estimular las papilas gustativas. Las salsas estaban bien presentadas y sabrosas. Fue un buen toque incluir un paño. La comida llegó caliente y antes de lo esperado, el curry estaba caliente y sabroso y el conductor fue agradable.

Love their food, this is now our new favorite takeaway. Ordered their £9.95 meal deal and the mix grill was very nice especially the sheek kebab. Will be ordering again.

Food was mostly okay but avoid lamb tikka, meat was really tough, tasted off and smelled really bad I always order lamb tikka from other takeaways and it's never tasted like that

New management are excellent, best indian takeaway in the area.

Just look at the images. How on earth can you expect anybody to eat completely burnt food. You managed to not only burn the lamb till it was black.. but had the cheek to send this as if it was okay? And you got the ice cream order wrong ignoring the flavour I asked for. AVOID

Ordered 2 Curry's 1 chicken 1 lamb egg fried rice 1 peeler rice onion nan chicken curry all I could taste was lemon or something made me feel sick my husband lamb was hard peeler rice was boiled rice my egg fried rice was lovely nan was burnt and chips disgusting forgot to add mint yoghurt to the order I've been ordering from there for many years but won't be again worst curry ever

Appalling food quality , Greasy , Containers are not even a fingernail in depth of product. They should be ashamed to serve that to the public.

The food here used to be delicious. The food I had tonight was disgusting. There was so much chilli in the dishes they were inedible. Even the rice was horrible. When I tried to phone back 10 times to complain they did not answer the phone. Avoid this place at all costs.

Order 2 currys . Both rubbish. Rang to complain . My daughter didn't want another one. No refund offered, they send another one for me it was worse then the first. They didn't answer the phone to me when i try to phone the second time Deliver lad was lovely and very apologetic. Will not be going there again. What a shame.

Used to be my weekly indian.lovely lamb madras my friend liked the mushroom sagwuala.a few months back tried again madras horrible taste fatty meat and small amout of meat.last week tried again lamb was like leather and it was red in colour 1 mouthful binned it.and naan was burnt.my friend hated her meal wont use them again.neither should anyone who reads this.not fit for your dog.

Pedí un cordero rogan josh esperó 20 minutos más de lo que me dijeron y luego recibí un curry de cebolla con 4 trozos de cordero (probablemente realmente cordero) intenté sonar 5 minutos después del parto a las 9:00 p.m. para obtener un reembolso, ni siquiera contestaron el teléfono. aunque dice en el sitio web, la tienda está abierta hasta las 11:00 p.m. toda la semana.

Never answer the phone been waiting over 50 mins now for my food i will not eva use this place eva again

We waited over an hour for our meal and 2 phone calls later were very disappointed when it finally arrived. The sagwallas had tinned mushrooms and the potatoes in one were undercooked. The lamb sagwalla was inedible, the lamb tasted off. The mint/yoghurt dips were too thick to pour or dip and the mixed grill was dried up and mostly inedible. We have used Planet Spice for many years but will not use them again. New management or chef I think, big mistake.

Primera vez usando planeta especia. Pollo al curry ordenado con papas fritas. Esperé 20 minutos para la comida y solo había un cliente delante de la comida. Cuando comía mi curry solo había 4 trozos de pollo. No hay guisantes ni cebollas. No volveré a utilizar este takeway.

Generous portions of meal with reasonable prices, not compromising on quality of food . Recently tried their house special naan and loved it. Food is always fresh and delivered hot. One of my favourite and regular takeaway

Ordené lo que pensé que sería una buena comida yunny para la esposa y para mí. Descubrir que no era para mí. Pedí keema pan naan con keema extra y pollo. Ábrelo y quedo con pan naan. Cordero kebab resultó ser un pastel algo completamente diferente.

I have had many a take away from here everytime I visit Birmingham. Service is always pretty promp. The food always impresses the taste bud and the portions are too a good size .

DO NOT ORDER FOOD FROM HERE IT IS DISGUSTING... I ordered 2 lamb balti’s, a lamb Biryani and a naan bread I waited 30mins for my food and when I tasted it, it was so tasteless and very tomatoey, the lamb was hard and chewy, the naan bread was like dough and the rice was hard. We went back to return the food and they were so rude and only gave us half our money back. I would NEVER order from there again. WORST CURRY I HAVE EVER HAD!!

I ordered lamb balti and biryani, one of the best balti in town, they have got an option of mild med hot and i absolutely loved my hot balti. And their naan is delicious. Will revommand

Normally go to rumanas but as they was closed had to go for a different restraunt. First thing is delivery was late, 2nd the food was disgusting. What was that in the kemma nan it was more like mince meat. Rice was nasty. Used to use this restraunt years ago and enjoyed the food now it's really gone down hill.

First time ordering as it was rated highly, the chicken was hard and tough, the naans were a joke and the rice was stale. Never again

The mixed biryani was fantastic. The popcorn chicken and chicken tikka were juicy and delicious. My daughter is a fussy eater and she loved the food. Highly recommend Planet Spice as you get restaurant quality food at takeaway prices.

What has happened to Planet Spice? Have ordered from there for years was always good. Definitely the best curry I have ever tasted. Just before Xmas i ordered a curry and was told it was a different chef. I said ok not a problem. What a problem it was disgusting. Just ordered another one thinking the old chef was probably back. Oh my god it was even worse. I have just gone to bed but I don't feel right. The chicken was dry and tasted off. The curry was so watery. The naan bread was awful. Really hope I'm ok tomorrow. Never wI'll I order from there again. What a shame it's gone downhill. It was such a good place for a curry

Loved it. They have delivered piping hot food on time, egg fried rice and chicken tikka sizzler was a fantastic combination with onion bhaji and lamb chops on the starter. Their naan bread is best.

Had curries from here in the past and they have been lovely , but this one was very poor, it was very watery too tomatoey and the chicken was a bit hard, I’m hoping this is a one off. So will give it one more try and hopefully I can give 5 stars.

First time in a while ordered from Planet Spice and disappointed with them forgetting the rice, and curry was nothing special. More sauce than actual meat in the chicken mint masala. I won't be going back!

All of the food tasted like it had been frozen and warmed up again, we had two briyanis and the sauce was sweet and it tasted more like korma, the naan was tasteless and tasted like it had been microwaved, honestly the worst takeaway I've ever had. I can't speak for the rest of the food they do but I wouldn't recommend the briyani

This is our favourite takeaway. Food is brilliant and delivery is really quick. Love the onion bhajis which are always freshly cooked. Other favourites are the lamb tikka naga, chicken tikka masala and the excellent peshwari naan. Highly recommended!

Always enjoyed planet spice. We have had the odd not quite 10 out of 10 meal and once a missing item.. but this meal tonight was absolute perfection.. i enjoyed it so much! Chicken so tender and perfectly cooked.. every flavour was just spot on to my taste. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Both kids and the hubby enjoyed all theres just as much too!

Food was bland and tasteless, asked for garlic naan but for plain. Korma was sweet and sickly and bhuna lacked seasoning. Won't be ordering from here again!

So bland! Very thick it stuck to rice rather than blend with it, no teast balti, undercooked naan, over cooked rock hard chicken tikka. And I'm normally easily please. Not happy!!!

Tuvimos una comida para llevar carne biryani de mezclado este restaurante la última noche, tuberías calientes, bien condimentadas, y excelente relación calidad-precio. Bien hecho. Servido por un amable miembro del personal, no demasiado largo para esperar, y vale la pena cada céntimo. Zona de servicio, limpio y acogedor. En el lado negativo de un hombre en su teléfono móvil, no sé si era un cliente o personal, pero podría haber ido fuera a hablar. ¿Por qué la gente grita cuando están en los móviles.

Loved every part of the meal and you can't beat getting your food early..

Vindaloo wasn't spicy in the slightest, resembled thick soup. Normal curry wasn't much better. Usually egg fried rice is with white rice, This was pilau so couldn't even eat that. ( wasn't the their fault as it's my preference but it should have stated in the menu.

Naan bread large and tasty, pathia tasted to much like tomato puree for my taste but husband enjoyed his chicken mint masala. I would prefer foil containers as opposed to plastic so I could keep the food warm in the oven until I was ready to eat.

Food and service always very good. However, I was charged £1.50 delivery. On the menu and website it states free delivery within 2 miles. I live 1.7 miles away. I checked it on Google Maps. I will have to take it up with the manager. The delivery driver said he could not do anything about it. Also this is a takeaway not a restaurant.
