Chilli Spice in Birmingham

An all round 3 stars from me. I ordered a slightly hotter than usual lamb madras with boiled rice and onion bhaji on Sun 16th Feb. The total was around £16 (see photos) with complimentary poppadoms. Slightly expensive for a takeaway, but nice food. May eat in next time.

Nice clean but food to spicy couldn’t enjoy it won’t be going again

Order is not completed, we order meat thali, it supposed to contain item mentioned, but there was no prawn dish and king prawns. very disappointed with that. they only send lamb curry a d veg curry.

Xmas day 3 x sittings 12 3&6 pm all packed out fantastic food hot no waiting abdul and all the staff take a bow superb

There was a chicken bone in the chicken tikka masala which is unexpected

Very bad place .food was very bad.they just manipulate us by acting very good.i got food poison after eating from there.i did have some good food months ago.Now the situation has changed they serve the dishes which is smelly and try to explain its good.it’s not good for health.please really bad for taking my family members to this place.we will never be back again 💯 wasted around 150£ for just awful food.very sad.

Tasty food as usual, early delivery meant we weren’t ready for the food. Had a takeaway leaflet included that suggested with the value of our order we should have had a free starter but there wasn’t one included?? Even so,would recommend

ive tried most curry houses around the or near the k/s area and this by far is the best chicken naga ive had to date cant vouch for anything else but nagas on point

Just came back from a birthday curry. King prawn balti, chicken tikka masala, rice & peshwari naan. Absolutely spot on 100per cent delicious!!!!! Quiet atmosphere, just what i needed ! Poppadom starters , gorgeous dips , Hake starter, with sizzling ' service onions' . Superb!!!!!! Friendly owner, smart dressed waiter!!! My def regular restaurant!!!!!!

After visiting this place for the first time I was served raw chicken after complaining It was put in the the oven again but still was not cooked it was Slimy and raw i felt sick and after stoped eating . I Had offered to pay my starter and drink and was shouted at and told to get out as they wanted me to pay the main. There was 2 men waving there hands around Speaking There native tongue in a Violent and Unprofessional manner.

Tonight was my first time ordering a take out from here . I went in to collect it. The staff where friendly however its more of a restaurant to meet up with friends then to have a date night as its very casual setting. Food wise I ordered sagaloo! Fried onions rice! Onion baghess! Paswari nan to name a few. The onion baghess were a tad too crunchy but otherwise I enjoyed the food and would be coming back again.

Food is 10/10 deffo needs a lick of paint inside and updating but food is unreal

i ordered tikka masala, keema naan,egg fried rice and a side of onions. The tikka masala was way too sweet and sickly. The keema naan was good but the meat fell straight out of it. THE EGG FRIED RICE had loads of cooked onions in it ??!?!?!? and the rice itself was just white rice with no soy sauce in it ? Will be ordering else where next time.

Nan was stone cold plus lamb bhoona curry lamb was very tough. Never had a issue but tonight's food order was very disappointing my parents did not have the food. Evening totally ruined. I clearly stated that l wanted the nan piping hot instead it arrived stone cold. Total waste of my money very disappointed 😞

Great food my new favourite place to eat. Dishes can be customised to different spice levels when ordering. Planning on eating at the restaurant next time instead of ordering in. 👍

RIP OFF, charge you for bringing own drinks in, £10.00 even though it says you can, £16.50 for 10 poppadoms they charge per person for sauce/chutney, first and only restaurant I’ve been to that’s charges for this, Give this place a miss, if you don’t want to be RIPPED OFF, should be glad of the custom/booking.

We’ve been coming to chilli spice as a family for years but last night the 2nd of Dec 2023 , 11 of us came for my daughter’s 23rd birthday …. As I said we’ve been coming years and never had a problem, the food was nice no complaints with the food at all but the bill we was overcharged … 11 poppadoms cost us £16.50 so we queried this and they said they had charged us for the dips which I may add was already on the table at 70p a person and then 70p each the poppadom, In all the years we have been coming to chilli spice we have never paid for the dips when sitting in the restaurant and may I also add doesn’t come to £16.50 anyway so they over charges on that and then there was a charge at the top of £10 with o/d written on the side so I queried this and they said it was for bringing our own drinks in which we have always done and never been charged for but again just put the charge on and never told us that what they charge …. After spending over £185 you’d think they would of taken these charges of but they never and I ain’t one to complain so the bill got paid but I will never return to this restaurant again for the principal …. They still have the same waiters there but I think it’s had new management whoare going about things the wrong way and have now lost a family’s regular custom.

Delicious as always. My drink was forgotten but you came back out to deliver it so thank you for that

£73.50 worth of food, a lousy bottle of pop as a thank you

The food is excellent! Onion bajghee to start, crisp nice salad. Chicken tikka (not normally bothered for) is brilliant! Chicken pathia, again excellent 👌 full of flavour. Onion fried rice, spot on. £30 = feeds six people (take away)

We have a takeaway from here every few weeks and an occasional meal in. Why have I written a review now? Well, having had a terrible meal in the north of England I now realise what a gem of a place this is. Excellent, friendly service and exceptional food quality. The lamb tamarind is a favourite in our house. To avoid disappointment we will not be having a curry from anywhere else but Chili Spice in future.

I came to Chilli Spice with a sports team of 16 people with a whole range of dietary needs. The servers were wonderful and accommodating. They brought the dishes quickly and it was exactly what we ordered. The highlights were the Thali, Tamarind lamb, and peshwari naan. The atmosphere is simple and casual, which is exactly what we wanted. Thank you for a great evening in Birmingham! We hope to be back.

This place is one of the best restaurants I have ate from and I always order it when i’m in Birmingham! The staff are friendly and I am not sure if he’s the owner or what his name is (i’ll have to ask next time) but the guy with greyish hair is always so sweet and welcoming! For the amount of times I have ordered I am shocked that I haven’t left a review before! 10/10

Lovely until I realised there was a deceased moth under the tray lid of my chicken Pakoras. I immediately stopped eating at the risk of my health as it ruined the integrity of the meal. This usually never happens at Chilli Spice.

Absolutely 🤢 disgusting 1st & last time I will ever order from there again.. Throw the food away after two bites. Shocking thay are still open. Never again..
