Been many times, food is always awesome and the service is lovely!

We went there as a group of 6 fir my birthday. Service was excellent , with lots of chat with the serving staff. Food was excellent . Atmosphere excellent. Well worth a visit. I will be returning soon

I am so disappointed that the food at this restaurant in Moseley has gone downhill so much, having been one of my favourite restaurants over many years. The food was awful. The chicken was old and tough, the sauces (satay and red curry) were thick and not at all authentic.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sabai Sabai, and I can confidently say it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, instantly transporting us to Thailand with its beautiful decor and soothing atmosphere. The service was exceptional. The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Our server took the time to explain each dish and offered excellent recommendations based on our preferences. As for the food, it was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was a perfect blend of flavors, fresh ingredients, and authentic Thai spices. We started with the Tom Yum soup, which was bursting with vibrant, tangy flavors. The Pad Thai was the best I've ever had, with perfectly cooked noodles and a delightful mix of textures. The Green Curry was another standout, rich and creamy with just the right amount of heat. For dessert, the Mango Sticky Rice was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Overall, Sabai Sabai exceeded all our expectations. The combination of exceptional service, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere makes it a must-visit. Whether you’re a fan of Thai cuisine or looking to try something new, I highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be returning soon!

A quiet night to have a dinner and a catch up. Dinner was beautiful and served with a smile. Our server was informative and helpful with the choices.

Lovely restaurant with very tasty food excellent friendly service

We did a collection order for 3 starters (satay chicken, squid and chicken wings) and a main (pad Thai noodles). Aside from the satay chicken starter the remainder of the dishes were extremely poor. The chicken wings were greasy with no flavour, the dry mix with them added nothing. The squid, again flavourless and unpleasant. However, the worst dish was the pad Thai noodles main. Myself and my partner ended up putting this in the bin it was so distasteful and the chicken was stringy. I called up to complain and whilst the lady was polite we were offered no redress on the basis that we'd had 15% off as it was a collection order. I consider as it's a collection, not eating in, that why the 15% discount was offered - this was not a recompense for the poor quality of the food. Very disappointed at the unpleasant meal and the failure to resolve a genuine complaint; I do not recommend this restaurant at all.

Second visit to this restaurant the food was nice no complaints there. When the bill came. The service charge is automatically added and expected to be paid ALSO a charge for growing trees somewhere in world was charged to the bill. When I questioned this charge the waitress could not explain what it was for. I asked for both of these extra charges to be removed I paid the bill for the food and drink that we received. I paid cash and THE CHANGE NEVER CAME we waited a while and then left as this was becoming an embarrassing situation What a shame this was the outcome of otherwise decent evening As we traveled around 45 mins to get to this location I will be looking for something near and who give the change

Food is really good! But unfortunately the table has never ready on time, to the point we’ve waited in the pub next for for 15-30 mins a couple of times, servers don’t seem happy to work there and are a bit rude, very crammed and awkward spacing but again food is brilliant, for a sabi sabi is expect a better building

Staff friendly and helpful. They were very attentive and catered to my coeliac and lactose intolerance. The food was really beautiful, huge portions! I hadn’t been there since before covid and was worried it wouldn’t be as good as last time I came as I had told my partner how amazing it was and it definitely lived up to previous visit. We both really enjoyed our meal and will be booking again soon. Next time we’ll bring more people!

Went to Sabai Sabai before and this time compared to before were night and day. When we first got there I was okay until I sat by a table that clearly has a cold draft coming from it. I asked to be moved which wasn't a problem however then I came to realise that the whole inside of the restaurant was cold. My partner even asked for the heating to be turned up which they did do for us apparently but I just could not warm up. Then our food came. Once served no one asked us if we were okay or if we needed anything else. We both ordered steaks and I tried sliced pieces and did not eat the rest ontop of the inside of the building being cold, by time our steaks got to us they were cold. I counted 6 delivery food drivers come and go with food to be delivered in the restaurant before my food was served. I preferred my starter which was calamari that indeed was sooooo delicious! I think they only noticed our dissatisfication with the food once we had so much uneaten steak left on our plates and us only eating the rice and calamari. The manager came around and first said that we ate most of our food which I then had to project to say I hadn't I only had 2 pieces and it was cold and my steak also had lots of fat on. She suggested remaking the meals for us but we refused as we were just too cold to be sat there for any longer and just wanted to leave. She then went into the back and came back suggesting 50% off the mains. My partner was willing to pay the full amount regardless but we took that. I'm just a bit sad because I felt like it ruined my birthday which is actually today and I was soooo looking forward to that weeping tiger meal I had before that came sizzling with flames on the iron pan. It deffo did not come out like that... Tbf I don't think I'd be returning but if cold is your way to go then go for it.

The good: the food. The bad: everything else. Asked for prawn crackers which never came. Requested water twice which also never came. Had to ask for the bill four times over 50 minutes and then when it did come theyd added 10% tip for 3 of us! The only ladies bathroom was also in a disgusting state, seen public toilets in better condition

As thai is one of my all time favourites, a bit disappointed with tom yum, was quite acidic for us, red curry was amazing but disappointed with appetiser sharing platter .

I was a member of party of seven before christmas, cut to the chase had drinks starters, mains came and within first minute three of us had found hairs in the food and even more sickingly pulling long hairs out of mouth from the food. Staff implied we put them there, even though none of us had that colour/consistency hair, which obviously matched staff. Waiter asked if we wanted dishes replaced, we said no as we now felt like puking! He said shall I take away the dishes , we said "obviously". Five minutes later he came back with a bill of approx £230 for entire meal, arguing that it should be paid even though mains had hardly been touched. We paid the £90 odd for starters and drinks after their 15 minutes of demanding the £230 and left. No apologies or anything from staff, just contempt. On mentioning to my neighbour she too told me that she ordered a take away, found hairs in it and rang them and they more or less told her that she was lying but eventually agreed on refunding her. Place is a joke...they will probably put hairs on the menu as a delicacy by means of an excuse!

Great food, staff are very hospitable even when it gets busy and stressful. Tony(?) is great, we always feel like we’re under good care when he is around. Much prefer this branch than the others, as it feels more “home-like” if that makes sense.

Visited last night with my wife. Amazing thai food and great service from our waiter Toni who look after us for the whole night. Highly recommend !! and definitely will come back next time 🥰

I recently visited a restaurant for a significant family celebration, expecting a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, the event turned out to be disappointing and distressing. To our dismay, we found four black hairs in our food, a clear indication of poor hygiene standards. This was particularly alarming as no one in our party had black hair, which made the situation more unsettling. When we brought this to the manager's attention, the response was far from satisfactory. Shockingly, the manager accused us of placing the hairs in the food ourselves. Despite the clear fault on the restaurant's part, the manager insisted on charging us for the contaminated meals. The overall service was appalling, with a complete disregard for customer satisfaction and basic cleanliness. This experience was not only unpleasant but also disrespectful. I strongly advise others to avoid this establishment to prevent similar experiences

Haven't been here for a very long time. The food was lovely. The side portions were a little small. The "Wok Hei" was perfect. Staff friendly.

Visiting Birmingham for the first time when we stumbled across Sabai Sabai and what a find it was! Delicious food, excellent service and good price. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone thinking of going 😊

I was at the Birmingham restaurant last night and I was so disappointed with my food. Sabai sabai in Moseley used to be one of my favourite restaurant over the years and I have always been very pleased with the food. The chicken noodle I had last night was absolutely awful. Chicken wasn’t fresh which I couldn’t eat, it looked like a dish made in a hurry, hardly any noodle in it. I actually felt sick all night. I already booked for next week to go there with friends for Xmas meal, I might have to re think.

We are regular customers - usually need to order a takeaway but occasionally manage to get over there and dine in. Great service last Saturday night when we had some friends over, one of whom has some extreme food allergies. The Sabai Sabai chef chatted through the menu with her and they worked out some excellent choices for her. She absolutely loved her food (as did the rest of us ). Just wanted to commend the excellent customer service we received - thank you!

Really bland papaya salad and dumplings One green curry was bland On asking the waitress , why food was bland, she said… That’s what Thai food is like.., when I corrected her , she said if I wanted spicier food , I have to ask for it. Something has changed. Catering again for local tastes with NO Authencity .. will I go again NO

Tonight was my first time in 10/10. Food was delicious. Service was brilliant. With amazing wine choices as well. I can honestly say it’s the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Will recommend and return. If you thinking about trying this place. Treat yourself

I've been having food from this restaurant for around 4 years, but only ever as a takeaway. This is an expensive place, but the food was always great, so its always been an occasional treat. Sadly, it's no longer good enough to justify their current prices. The portions of my most recent takeaway (4/8/23) were unbelievably tiny and the quality and flavours were like that of precooked food from a supermarket. All requests where there was an option to choose different type of noodles were ignored. It all tasted as if they'd re heated old pre cooded food. On the positive side, the food was ready on time, and they seemed busy enough, but overall a huge dissapointment, so I will no longer use this restaurant.

Great place to dine in, it has authentic dishes and great customers service. We have only visited the Moseley branch, which we would recommend to prebook as it gets booked out fairly quickly on a daily basis. If you’re looking for a date night or to book for an occasion then it’s definitely got the right atmosphere and ambiance. Only downside for Moseley branch is that it’s a bit tight in there not the biggest of restaurants but they have other branches within Birmingham !

Very nice food and staff are very helpful

The setting is nice. The waitresses were polite, but the food was not tasty. If I have to put on salt and chilli oil to obtain some flavour then its a fail. If you like Thai, please go as I could have just chosen the wrong food. I am marking simply on this visit. I will return but not immediately and with hesitancy.

Excellent food. Attentive waiters however the service was a bit slow. Large gaps between courses. Luckily we were a party of 11 so filled the time with chit chat. Very accommodating staff towards hosting our baby shower event.

Has one the best chicken pad Thai you will have ever tasted! Highly recommended!!

Good food. However have a very unaccommodating policy for children. I found lady to be very rude and abrupt when I asked to be seated with my 2 year old son she advised they have no high chairs and I could tell she felt I was more of an inconvenience than a customer. I continued to take my food out.

After seeing the 2 for 1 offer for January I decided to try and book for Friday 27th. Was first told that it didn't include Friday evening but as long as we were there for 5pm then we could take advantage of the offer. When I rang back later to confirm I was first told that the offer expired on Thursday 26th then that the offer didn't apply to Moseley but we could go to Harborne for lunch. I was then informed that the 2 for 1 only applied between 5 and 7.30 on Monday to Thursday. Needless to say I'm very annoyed that their misleading offer didn't clarify any of this and their staff seem to have little idea of what was actually on offer. Unfortunately I've had to give this 1 star to enable me to post my complaint.

Very poor. Booked for new years eve and first time in many months with mother in law who is 92. Table wasn't set, had to wait, brought us wrong drinks, no plates or cutlery with mains, had to go to desk chasing these, had to wait over 49min to be served and then another 30min for bill. Staff most unfriendly unhelpful rude. Bill just under £150 and then charged us further 30p for plastic containers. Awful night and awful congested place. Wouldn't recommend it.

Had the loveliest dinner, everything we ordered was delicious! Customer service was perfect, thank you Ed for serving us. Cheerful and positive guy who made us feel welcome and checked on us throughout our meal. Will be coming back.

Couldn't finish my main as portion was too big. I asked if I could take it home to avoid food waste as most of my main was still in the bowl. Rather than bag it up for me and bring it to our table (like most other restaurants do) I was asked how many tubs we need and the tubs were brought to our table for us to fill up ourselves!! It was extremely embarrassing filling up our own tubs at the table with other diners watching and if that's what the staff at Sabai Sabai intended to do then they succeeded! I have never, ever in my life eating out had to fill up my own tubs at the dining table when out and wanting to take food home. We were appalled by this. I did email the restaurant privately following our meal but as I have not even had so much as a reply let alone an apology, and it's been 5 days since I sent the email, I've decided to publicly post this review. Shows the ignorance and/or possible arrogance of the staff or management that I haven't even had a reply to private email concerning poor service.

As someone who has thai in their roots, i find this restaurant accurate to the cultural and traditional dishes and the food just hits the spot! My favourite dish to order would be pad see ew 😅 the customer service is good aswell and so are the staff! the presentation is also immaculate. Well done!

Terrible food at ridiculous prices. We're big on Thai food and thought we would try this place. Firstly I was disappointed that they charged us £4 for prawn crackers. The Duck "rolls" was just one spring roll cut in half and cost £9. So already up to £13 for some prawn crackers and a spring roll. Then the Thai Green curry was so, so spicy that we couldn't eat it. I've never known a green curry to be more than mildly spicy, but this was horrendous with no flavour and just spice. I'm a madras guy at an Indian so I'm fine with spice. But this was as though they threw in loads of chillies as there wasn't much else flavour going on. Won't be returning. I'd much recommend Chaophraya Thai Restaurant in town. Much better food and prices.

I went with 2 friends, we each had a starter which were very nice and then a different main from each other. They were so spicy hot that we could not finish them. We have had hot curries etc before, but these were something else! We told the manager (?) our thoughts and he wasn't really interested. We won't be going back! My friends had eaten in Sabai Sabai in Harborne and they said it was really good.

The food was alright (in small portion) but the service was not. My friend really enjoyed Thai food so she suggested this place for our dinner. As we were finishing our meal, we noticed that we were the only table without water and lit candle (while the waitress has been giving them to other tables throughout our meal. Not sure what's the deal with unfair treatment but the only thing sure is that we won't come here again.

Ordered I takeaway on 21/04/22 because you (sabai sabai) choose to use deliveroo, I did not receive order, not once but twice within two hours. You will not see my custom again, you are a disgrace, your response was to blame others, you need to have a serious look at how you treat your potential customers, shame on you.

I am extremely disappointed with this restaurant. I had previously naiveley thought that the Moseley branch would be the same as the Harborne branch but no not at all. The Moseley restaurant lacks ambience, quality and staff. Although one of the staff members was really nice and helpful unfortunately due to the quality of food iam unable to score this higher. They were short staffed and running round which is unfair to the staff team but also their customers. The food tasteless and there is no way this can be compared to the quality of the Harborne branch. The ambiance- there wasn't any. 70 pound worse off now. Never ever again

Just got home from a meal at Sabai Sabia and I don't know what I just ate, but it wasn't Thai food. The "vegetable tempura" was sparse frozen peas, carrots and corn covered in globs of batter and deep fried, still dripping with oil on the plate. Absolutely inedible. And the "Pad Kee Mao" was Japanese noodles covered in chili oil again with random frozen vegetables and some egg. At a complete loss as to where these positive reviews have come. But if you have ever eaten proper Thai food before, SAVE YOURSELF AND DO NOT COME HERE.

Such a small and tucked away place, it’s easy to miss. I have been going here for years and have never had a bad experience, nor a dish I didn’t enjoy. The main dishes are all great but I would also recommend sharing starters amongst a group if possible
