Beautiful meal last night. Top quality Thai food. Highly recommend this place! Would be nice to see beer on draught rather than just bottles.

Real shame the menu is now so limited as the food is fantastic and much better than the branded restaurant that's recently opened in Shrewsbury. I used to order the panang chicken all the time. It's also no longer quite such a viable option for my vegetarian other half.

Easily the best Thai food in Shrewsbury, cooked by the Thai lady chef. This restaurant deserves more support vs the chain restaurant down the road.

My wife and I ate here on a Friday night. An excellent, authentic Thai meal. All flavours were fresh a vibrant from the dumplings & satay starters to the red curry and penang. Our young waiter had half a dozen tables to cover and was a bit pushed at times, but coped admirably. We're looking forward to our next visit already!...

Sadly this restaurant was quiet much to our surprise as we are local and normally can't even get a table as it was packed. Here tonight for a family meal and the food is fantastic and staff can't do enough

Nice but don't have enough food for the price as quite expensive.

Definitely not worth the money! Cold on arrival. 4 cold tempura prawns for £10, 5 pork dumplings for £9. Red Thai chicken curry… 5 pieces of ok chicken in a runny sauce £16.95!!! Beef noodles, ok, but £16.95?? The chips were the highlight with beef and chilli, but stone cold. At £8.95, sorry but simply not worth it. We paid £50 and that was with 20% discount!!!! Never again sorry!!

Lovely meal here tonight. Freshly cooked and hot. Service was good, not rushed and the server was friendly. Prawn tempura and chicken satay for starters followed by stir fry chicken & cashew and a red Thai chicken curry. Both came with jasmine rice. Portions were good, in fact I couldn't manage all my rice. The curry was a little on the hot side but after a couple of mouthfuls my senses adjusted 😄 If we lived closer would definitely visit again.

I mean, we had food from here ages ago, I think early covid when in Frankwell, and it was great tasting. As it was lockdown we went back a few times to try and keep local businesses on the up. Disappointing takeaway today though! The Calamari was 8 quid and 7 pieces (pic shows 5/7). Pretty tasteless unless you used the dip, and even then, was a bit bland. Prawns were ok though and the prawn dipping sauce is always banging. That said, the Beef pad thai was thin on the beef. All in all, 50 quid was a little excessive. Can't see us ever going back. I get that costs are insane, but 50 quid for a pickup, and then general lack of taste is really unfortunate.

Absolutely beautiful food. Some of the most flavourful food I’d have in a long time. Very accommodating with allergens. Reasonably priced. Will be coming back for sure.

Compare with those we ate in Thailand, it’s a lot different, but the Thai foods in Thai D are quite delicious 😋 The decoration is good, feel like eating in Thailand. The chicken wings are yummy, kids love them a lot. Green curry is not very spicy and full of coconut flavor, love it👍🏻 Compared with the Thai food eaten in Thailand, the food here tastes really different, but it is still delicious. 😋 The decoration here is nice and it feels like you are in a Thai restaurant. The chicken wings are crispy and delicious, and children love to eat them. The green curry is not too spicy and has a strong coconut flavor. I like it very much👍🏻

Great food and great service. I had stir fry with egg fried rice, wife had one of the pad ones, I think pad see ew. The food was truly flavorful and clearly freshly made. The young servers were very attentive too. The place was quite busy when we showed up, so a booking is recommended. We got a chance to talk to Ben, the owner, who told us a bit about the history of the restaurant. He also asked about our visit and sightseeing plans, which made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend.

Poor experience of ordering takeout from Thai D and poor value for money. I spent over £40 on takeout and the portions are miniscule, I have included a picture of £15 worth of prawns which come with absolutely nothing, to say it's a main meal is an insult. We also ordered sides of spring rolls and chicken satays, you get three spring rolls for £6 and the chicken satay source is distinctly lacking in any peanut flavour. Just overall really poor value and average food. I'm now £40 out of pocket and were both still very hungry, best avoided.

Ate here a couple of weeks ago. The food was really tasty and fresh and the service was very warm and welcoming. We were just visiting Shrewsbury but if we were local, would definitely be regulars!

Fabulous Thai meal last night Very tasty food, clearly made with very fresh ingredients. We had a share platter to start, a main meal each and a side with the mains and a bottle of wine for under £100. All served quickly Probably the best Thai food I have had in the UK, and as good as food in Thailand Will definitely return to dine in and to take away as well Thank you for a lovely evening

Excellent Thai food and great service! I had the sweet and sour (an absolute classic I always seem to get). This was one of the best I have ever tried. It had a smokey undertone with a lot of flavour. If we’re back in the area, we’ll be back!

I ordered fish cakes and pad Thai. I wasn't able to order delivery as opposed to take away. They were very helpful and sorted this out easily. My food was delivered exactly on time....and I had stepped out and they phoned me. AND the food was fabulous!

Just left after a meal for my sister's birthday. Accommodating and friendly staff, excellent food and service. Even had a quick chat with the owner who is a complete delight.

Me and my wife have eaten here 4 or 5 times now...you wont find better...i lived in cambodia for 2 years so i know what south central asian food should taste like. Lovely place and staff🙏❤

Food ok/good, courtesy of the chefs; waitress pleasant; small place, pretty bare bones. Rubbish atmosphere: we had to listen to an unpleasant waiter/staff member moaning loudly with another customer about cultural issues of the day. Hearing this member of staff bloviating arrogantly about "all these minorities" etc was distasteful and a rubbish accompaniment to eating. I'd recommend he consider that he was at freedom to loudly broadcast his simplistic views - without consequence - and therefore perhaps things aren't quite so stacked against men or white people (as he insisted was the case) as his delicate self-esteem and apparent overconsumption of social media might make it seem.

I would normally highly recommend this restaurant. The pad Thai, Thai curries, and the rice's, especially the pineapple rice, are delicious. However, today I tried the Thai Boat Noodle soup, and I found this had an unpleasant aftertaste and couldn't continue eating it about a third of the way through. I told the very nice waitress this, and as I don't know what this new item on the menu is supposed to taste like I offered to pay and ordered a pad Thai instead. Sure enough, the returned soup appeared on the bill and I paid. My recommendation is to avoid the Thai Boat soup. Or it could leave a bitter taste in your mouth, literally and metaphorically!

Great tasting food in the heart of Shrewsbury town centre. I have been twice now in different groups and both times, the food was excellent. The chef is from Thailand and the food has just the right amount of spice. Easy to find on the main street, at the top of Wyle Cop. Well worth a visit

First visit and enjoyed it. Didn't have chance to have starters but the mains were tasty and well cooked. Staff are fantastic, nice touch with complimentary Thai prawn crackers and dip. Only downside is the charge of 3.20 for a bowl of boiled rice which is ridiculous. At present they also don't have a dessert menu. The delivery drivers are also a little boisterous and take the shine off the ambience of a restaurant setting- for example we were almost barged out of the way by a chap on entering, he was like a mad man in a rush and wasn't taking any prisoners- restaurant customers are of no relevance to their delivery drivers and I encourage the restaurant to deal with this. But in general would give it another go for sure.

Friendly service willing to talk about the food & wine. Good food, well presented and full of flavours. Recommended.

First time to Thai D, I'm not too familiar with Thai Food, but loved the choices I made. My friends were far more knowledgeable about Thai Food and they said the standard and tastes were excellent.

Very nice food, and well priced. Was a great valentines meal with nice candle and fresh flowers on tables. Little disappointed as a lot of the official google photos are NOT of the restaurant so felt a little underwhelmed with the decor as it is very plain and cafe like. Would definitely return though for the quality of food!

Trendy Wendy Thai. That and Bombos next door are great places. For a complete opposite yet good in its own way, there's the Castle Thai by the station. Shrewsbury is great for Thai food.

Poor quality food and expensive for what you get. Ordered the chilli squid to start and received 6 squid making it over £1 each if you cost it. Rice is extra cost and doesn't come with the Curry. Staff are not knowledgable on the menu. When I asked whether it contained a certain ingredient, she asked me "what does it say on the menu". Well firstly you're the waiter, not me and secondly, if you don't know, you go and check with the chef!! She went to check with another waiter, which again was not the chef. Go and check with the chef who is cooking the item so you can give your customer accurate allergy ingredient info!

Good service. Food quality not so good. Tempura shrimp batter was soggy not crispy, though the shrimp were a good size. Beef portion was on the small side and of the poorest quality. It was tough and chewy to the point it was inedible. Had to be given to the birds. Pad Thai with chicken was just ok. Would not go back.

Pleasant, clean surroundings with well-spaced tables. Very friendly and helpful staff, who offered to adapt dishes to the right level of spice for me. Nice, fresh cocktails, reasonably-priced wine and delicious food in generous portions. So pleased we stumbled on this little gem on our visit to Shrewsbury 👍

Really good experience overall. The food was really good, our favourite was the Thai Green Curry. Friendly staff and owners. Parking is not available. However, if you visit in the evening there are a few spots near the restaurant.

Stumbled across this restaurant while looking for food on a Saturday night with my girlfriend. We both enjoy Thai food so thought we would ask for a table. The place was heaving. Was asked to call back in 30 mins as they may have a table free. We waited and called back. What a great decision. Food and service was excellent. We started with a sharing platter for 2. The crispy chicken was superb 👌 but only 5 pieces. Could have done with 6 so we don't fight over the odd one. I had Thai yellow curry (never seen this before) and Sue had king Prawns. Fantastic flavours and extremely quick service. Ben the concierge was interesting and fun. we had some great conversations till late. They have a late license so are open till 1am. Definitely will be returning. A very enjoyable evening

Wonderful! Amazing food, many vegan options, dogs are allowed and everyone is so extremely lovely! Just make sure you made a reservation as they are always packed- No surprise as the food and service is just first class!!

Went on a Saturday night. Food was good but a very long wait (1 hour). Staff were friendly but rushed off their feet - balancing cleaning tables, Deliveroo and takeaway orders and serving customers. Food itself was good overall but place would benefit from a few extra staff on weekends. I am sure that if you went during lunch or in the week it would be much better.

Very very impressed. Pleasant and hard working staff. Place was very busy + take away orders and it was quick and efficient service. Food was beautiful, had the crispy prawn special (very nice, plenty of big prawns), egg fried rice and a noodle dish which was lovely. Nothing was too much. I asked for extra sauce and they were happy to facilitate this. Very nice Thai- would recommend!!

I first had food from Thai D 18 months ago and it was amazing. Since then, the quality of the food has decreased. The takeaway menu has a lot of “out of stock” items which is disappointing. Both of our curries arrived and had a an awful smell - the ingredients were not fresh and the taste was so far below what it used to be. For the price, you would expect food that tastes and smells fresh. Whatever has changed I hope they can go back to their old methods.

Delivery was later than the 20 minute slot. They did apologise but could have adjusted the times. The Massamam curry was made with leftover vegetables - re heated boiled potatoes in particular don’t taste very nice 😕. Rest of the meal was fine, fairly average.

The first thing that greeted us was the greeting from the owner and chef, as if we were old friends. Nice. We chose the Chicken Sate, Pad Thai with prawns (about seven) and a spicy seafood dish, all of which were very good, although the seafood was let down by rubbery calamari. The meals were of a good size, and with rice we were more than happily full. There is an adequate wine list with wines available by the glass. Service was excellent.We were early in the evening and able to talk with one of the owners about the restaurant’s history, which was very interesting. This is a really nice restaurant; well-presented meals, good prices, truly Thai flavours, and definitely worth making your favourite in town. .

Probably the best freshly cooked food in Shrewsbury. Caters for all, from omni to vegan and between. Update 09/22: Take-away portion size is on point. The tofu is better prepared, and the flavours are wonderful. Thank you.

As an Asian, I highly rate their pad thai. I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. Good portion too. Tofu way too small and their slightly noisy children with a dog made me nervous so one less star.

Stopped here for lunch. We were the only people in the restaurant on a Saturday lunch. But the food and service were utterly delicious. Recommendations were good and the Pineapple Rice was exceptional. My Other Half said it was pure Thailand on his plate.

We enjoyed a tasty meal with family. Menu was varied and provided vegetarian options as well as other dietary needs. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

My order has been rejected around 7.15pm, with the stated reason that the restaurant is already closed. Although it is indicated here that it works until 10.30pm.

Stopped in around 2pm for a late lunch. Friendly greeting, seated and provided with paper menu (rare in this world of QR codes). Ordered the Thai Fish Cakes (£7.45) as a starter and the Thai D Curry Bowl (beef, £9.50). The fish cakes were nice, good flavor and texture. The curry cowl was quite heavy on the (cheap) carbs (rice & potato) while providing a very, very small portion of beef amounting to a few thin slices.. while it tasted good, the small beef portion was a letdown. Perhaps other dished provide more value?

Delicious food but decor is a bit souless. Need a closer on the door as it was continuously left open by the delivery drivers and it was a very hot night. Pleasant staff.

Didn't like the food, gave no sauce and the spices were bad. Service bad aswell, waiters left for like 5 minutes and I had to wait to order a drink

First visit to Thai D, and really impressed. Staff/owners were really friendly and helpful, paying particular attention to a friends nut allergy and adapting the food accordingly. The chef was happy to make requested changes to the dishes to our request, and all all the food tasted amazing. Will definitely return, and also good to know the restaurant offer deliveries (either direct from the website or via JustEat/Deliveroo).

Really tasty food. There's not much on the menu I don't love. Crispy egg is a game changer. Nat and Ben's team in the kitchen consistently turn out delightful food.

Very welcoming and professional staff. Once inside you see well spaced tables, and a spotlessly clean eating environment! There is a lunchtime menu from 12.00 to 3.00. I had chicken massaman curry, lovely tender chicken, vegetables including potatoes, and peanuts, in a delicious coconut milk sauce. With Thai sticky rice. There was an option to include a paratha. There is a full menu for evening meals 5.00 to 10.30 from Tuesday to Sunday. I thoroughly recommend this food bar which I would describe as a lovely restaurant!

Well worth a visit the food was very tasty and reasonably priced

The food was ok, not the best Thai I've had but good. They were very busy and clearly a bit flustered. The owner however is lovely. It's also nice to support a local restaurant. They're clearly still learning but the service and friendliness of the team there is worth going just for that.

Really really good food drinks seem a little expensive however 4 largers on tap is good. Staff friendly and welcoming. I went for dinner but the setting of the place is probably better for daytime dining.

It took an hour and a half to get my order from Uber eats. When calling the restaurant they blamed it on the UE driver saying they have not shown up yet. The food was super soggy and there was no rice which is a standard side dish with curry. VERY watery massaman curry. Pick a different place cause this place sucks.

Refreshing skandi vibe - all white and light pine. Starters delivered by one of the chefs with a big smile. Homemade spring rolls with lots of fresh veg were really good. Mains were Thai red curry with beef - excellent tasty and hot. Pud Thai not so good - my tofu wasn’t warmed through and a bit stodgy with not many veg. Served though with a pile of chopped peanuts and another of chilli flakes. Staff were really helpful. We’ll be back.

The best Thai restaurant in Shrewsbury. Authentic Thai food that was packed full of flavour. They've recently started doing bubble tea and they were delicious. A must for all visitors and Shrewsbury locals.

This has to be the best Thai food I have ever eaten. Authentic and packed full of flavour. The team at Thai D were very welcoming and hospitable. Will go again when we come back to visit Shrewsbury and will highly recommend.

I ordered a takeaway - vegetable Thai curry. My birthday. The vegetables in the curry were uninspiring and not cooked properly - the sliced potatoes were undercooked and still hard . A piece of broccoli with carrot slices and a few green beans so frozen veg and undercooked potatoes . I was unable to go out and ordered a takeaway as a birthday treat. Not impressed at all .

Fantastic restaurant with incredible Thai food. Could have easily eaten everything on the menu. Lovely members of staff that made you feel welcome from start to finish. Couldn’t fault the place.

Awful experience! The delivery service was terrible, food was below average and very expensive. I would not recommend to anyone who dislikes arguing with a delivery driver, or the owner. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE! The pad Thai was like eating old socks and both curry’s were way below average. Never ordering from here again!

What can I say, I have waited over a year to try Thai D. I would constantly ask friends if they wanted to go as I was desperate. When I seen they was on UBER Eats i was soo excited. Well how disappointed was I! I personally will not be ordering again. Not worth what you have to pay! And very disappointed in the taste.

Really nice lunch, Pad Thai has plenty of your chosen meat, nice touch serving chili and nuts on the side so you can season to taste yourself. All nice and fresh, really friendly team and great service. £55 for 4 people for a very nice lunch and drinks from the lunch menu which is great value. Accommodating team allowed for a small baby with our party. Blue moon beer super fresh with a slice of orange in the right glass. Overall a great spot for Thai food.

Excellent food - good service - friendly atmosphere.

Dined in for lunch today and was very impressed. Lovely food, friendly service and simple lunch menu options which really hit the spot. My son had the Pad Thai and I had the fried rice with pineapple, cashew nuts and prawns. Both dishes delicious! Already planning my next visit, highly recommended 😊

On reflection I found the place to be temperature cold ..big air conditioner unit blowing cold air across the room. The food was good but not memorable (4 big prawns in main dish and wasn't as spicy as advertised) and no option to eat with anything but knives and forks. No Thai beer in stock so drank Spanish, or Italian I can't recall. Service was polite and friendly but inexperienced and slightly nervous. I so want this place to work guys so I'm trying to give you constructive support. Best wishes and see you soon.

Food excellent. My only complaint is the driver would not deliver my order to my door and I had to descend two flights of stairs using crutches as I'm disabled. Other deliveries come right to my door making it much more helpful

Best Thai dishes in and around Shrewsbury. Never been disappointed and they always deliver to the highest standard. Good is absolutely delicious and I have tried a lot of the menu. Can only recommend to try.

Amazing food! We have just had a take away from Thai D Food Bar and the flavours are amazing, the portion sizes were very generous and the staff were very lovely. We will definitely be going again, Thank you!

Takeaway order. The Tom Ka soup was delicious, and Thai green curry. Deducting a star because they did forget a beer off my order, and we weren't keen on the Pad Thai... edit:- I've changed my mind and put it up to 5* because they contacted me and rectified the mistake on my order, so happy with their customer service. The food in general was quite rich, sweet and creamy, not too spicy, the Panang was the hottest dish and even that was pretty mild. Overall the food was great quality and flavour, would recommend !

We moved here a month ago just as England went into Lockdown #2. We have used the delivery service once weekly and been very impressed. The food is deliciously tasty and perfect portion sizes. I like the fact that some of the food containers are made from card rather than plastic. On all but one occasion the food has been delivered in the booked slot. We were telephoned on the one occasion that the delivery was going to be late. They were very apologetic and added some yummy extras free of charge by way of apology. This week they ran a discount on deliveries too which was much appreciated. I look forward to visiting the restaurant in person one day and having a sit down meal...whenever that may be!
