I give this 3 stars because I like the chicken curry but it’s way overpriced hence the 3 stars, used to be $15 which is also a lot for some chicken rice and vegetables but now it’s $21.59 which is ridiculous, I could get a steak for that price

Went with a birthday girl who loves Thai. Overall, we were all more than happy with our choices, especially me and my choice of Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice. Service was very good, but could have been a little more attentive. Prices were reasonable for food and service provided. No liquor license, BYOB.

Decided to give this place a try despite the mixed reviews. We ordered a few different items to try, but most items left us less than impressed and the only reason I decided on 2 stars was because one items was halfway decent, otherwise it definitely would have gotten 1 star. We started out with the combination plate appetizer which includes; spring rolls, chicken wontons, fried tofu, chicken satay, and lastly shrimp and vegetable tempura. All fried items were limp, oily, and greasy. They lacked flavor as well. The chicken satay itself was not good, however the sauce that came with it was decent. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be a sauce however an item was given as well served in a sauce dish, but it tasted like pickled cucumbers and carrots. I wouldn't use it as a sauce, but it was decent as well. Everything else I could have done without. Next we ordered Pad Thai Chicken, Chicken Pineapple Fried Rice, and Beef Curry with Peanut Sauce. The Pad Thai was pretty terrible to say the least. It was flavorless, the noodles were so sticky you could barely pull them apart to eat it and the chicken was kind of dry. No Pad Thai I have ever had. The Chicken Pineapple Fried Rice was not good either. The rice was extremely overcooked, so mushy you could have made wallpaper paste out of it. The Beef Curry was the only thing that we actually ate and actually wanted to eat. It tasted good and looked good. It was full of vegetables, tender beef and a coconut style red curry sauce. Slightly on the watery side for my liking, but overall was decent. After the meal we had, we definitely will not be back, I can imagine we will travel for thai food or suffer without it. This place also was extremely over price for the poor quality you get. The items we order came to around $75 give or take.

I always get the curry because I can't get here often enough to get past my coconut curry craving! Love the food. The menu is not filled with hundreds of choices but everything on it is a good choice. Food is plated beautifully & aromas win you over before the first bite. It's a bit pricey but I can't find Thai this good anywhere nearby. It's hit or miss with crowds. Just there on a Friday night & it wasn't full at all. But it's often jammed & if you don't have reservations the wait can be long. In addition to the curry I really love the soups & the appetizer sampler tastes as good as it looks. Don't skip the toasted coconut ice cream. Like most of the desserts it comes with a generous portion of fresh fruit (mango, various berries). Lucky for me Thai reheats very well ;-) I take some of my meal home just so I have room for the ice cream!

Whenever I come to Reading on business, we can count on a quick and delicious lunch. I don't typically eat Thai food, but I am hooked on their "always a special/off the menu" seafood curry. Typically it has shrimp, scallops and salmon. It's delicious and s nice size for lunch. Enjoy!

I embrace the whole experience of dining. Thai Cuisine is on a short side street near a shopping mall with on site parking. You enter from a porch into a warmly lit spacious room with elegant Thai decor given to beiges and greens. Tables are covered in exquisite Thai fabrics with plastic protectors. The food focuses on Thai-French fusion cuisine. Service is personal, informative, and pleasant. Their interpretation of Thai iced tea is full flavored with subtle hints of spice. For us a lovely part of the meal. We skipped appetizers tonight. I had the Seafood Curry, a huge plate of green and red vegetables with a large assortment of clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops, salmon and some other fishes. All were bathed in a light red coconut milk sauce with muted heat that augmented the seafood flavors. The small amount of rice was inadequate to sop up the luxuriant sauce. The shrimp, asparagus, and chicken with a mild fragrant sauce. There was a lot of the crispy broccoli to add color, flavor and texture. We did splurge and shared the coconut cake with coconut ice cream. The splurge was worth the calorie guilt feelings. The noise level was low and murmuring. Their caring decor, service, and respect for food combined to make a lovely personal evening for us.

This is my most favorite Thai restaurant that I ever had in the World. When I was a student near this restaurant, I kept coming back to this restaurant for dinner and take out! Now, I have been to Bangkok close to 20 times and go to various Thai restaurants in Tokyo, but I still think this restaurant is the best Thai food. I wish that I can go back there someday!

Have been going to the Thai Cuisine for over 20 years. Fell in love with the chicken Pad Thai and never looked back. Celebrated many special occasions there and love going there for the girls night out, especially as it is BYOB. The appetizers are delicious, especially like the spring rolls; the daily specials are always fresh and flavorful; the desserts, especially the crème brulee, are to die for (not to mention the bananas foster and the coconut ice cream.

Easy to find with parking in the rear. Looks like a renovated house. A bit haphazard grounds. Chintzy decorations inside. Lots of tables. Very friendly and quick waitstaff. We were served promptly, with tea refilled several times. I enjoyed that hot Thai tea with the orange slice in it. Very light flavor. I ordered the chicken with coconut curry. Very colorful presentation with veggies, chicken chunks and rice in a white cream curry sauce. I'm not a spicy person and this was a bit too spicy for me. But the flavors were good. My friends ordered the special of veggie stir fry and shrimp platter. They liked their platters and even added more pepper sauce to them from the tri-container brought to our table.

So, we read so many rave reviews, obviously locals. The one I should have listened to - I disregarded thinking...OK....one guy thinks he knows better than everyone else, he was spot on.....if you've even Thai in a real city, you will most likely be sorely disappointed in this run-down spot. We went there for dinner on a weekend 8 PM. After spending $40 on dinner for two, we are both home feeling quite yucky, and did not finish our meal - as matter of fact, we left most of it on the plate and got out of there as fast as we could - primarily because we sat with water for almost 45 minutes (place about 70% full) and not even as much as the soup we ordered - a plate of some bagged rice crisps with a little dish of hot sauce/mayo?? (no...not an aioli - I know my condiments thank you) it was almost indescribable - then when the soup arrived, it was not hot. Lukewarm actually. Ok, so it was mediocre at best, and they did reheat it IN A MICROWAVE for me. When the meals arrived, they were awful. More about the VERY LIMITED menu and prices in this place....ahh, I digress, back to the meal. I ordered the Panang Curry ($16.95), it was so incredibly awful, not hot and the vegetables were steamed to mushy, except for the red pepper which was practically raw. I ordered it with fried bean curd (tofu) and got most of it steamed and then about 8 pieces of UNCOOKED curd - in all different sizes...now I know my way around a commercial kitchen, this was put on unfried, picked off the top (thus remaining pieces ranging from pea size to smushed cubed corners - tofu eaters, you know what I mean) then the fried put on top, and thus the cold dish arrived after it sat not-close-enough to the heat (most likely scenario). The rice was in the typical "flipped monkey dish" style, except that it was solid, starchy and part of it a complete ball on one side - obviously came out of the bottom of the rice cooker, it was not fresh, nor hot. The other guest had Pad Thai ($17.95), it was white, BROKEN rice noodles, not nice long noodles - with a clear sweet glaze, not even a sauce. Not brown, not spiced, nothing. The mushy veggies were the same as in my curry, with some mung sprouts and somewhat dry/old sliced green onion as a garnish. Tasteless, except for the sweet. He ate about 1/2 CUP of this dinner and left it. The server was just OK.....never asked if anything was wrong, but did apologize for the soup - she wasn't cooking, I understand that so can't really fault her for the quality of the food - but if you see two meals and people asking for the check 3 minutes after they get served - wake up, there's a problem - ASK. There was a another server who was IMHO local, and had shoulder length hair in her face, like REALLY down in her face. "Hair city" folks, where's the manager to have servers wear hair ties? She kept flipping it back... I am glad we did not have her at our table, I would have asked for another server. So, now let's get to the table next to us....which had a little kid RUNNING around the table, bouncing on the floor...OK, so not the restaurants fault, but someone please say something, the prices on this menu do not say "day care" they say "expensive delicious food". The floor was BOUNCING, and you could only wonder if it would hold up through dinner. The place is a run down, peeling paint, people live upstairs (owners I assume) pretty awful looking home converted many years ago to a restaurant in a neighborhood, I can't believe they are as busy as they are - how about cleaning up the awful peeling faux wickerish-plasticine-70's chairs and tables with large ashtrays by the front door. All in all, I would give it a 1/2 a star for just being as busy as they are - miraculous, they have truly fooled the local population. PLEASE, will some other Thai restaurant folks come to reading so you can put this place in it's place, which is most definately not a 4.5 star restaurant....but then again, you are in Reading, PA and not a larger place. Never will spend another $ in this place.

So forget about the long wait, and forget about the ridiculous prices...this was by far the worst Thai food I have ever eaten! The Tom yum soup tasted more like Alfredo sauce than ginger, the pad Thai had almost no flavor other than sugar...even the drinking water was so heavily chlorinated that it was undrinkable. Our server was pleasant and attentive. You will find better Thai in an airport.

I see most of the good reviews for this restaurant are from locals. I am being generous at 2 rating. Definitely a restaurant that takes advantage of folks that have never eaten genuine Thai or even in places like New York City, Washington DC, Hawaii, San Francisco. It is quite Americanized. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and acceptable service until they got busy. Everything we ordered it seemed like they added sugar just to make it sweet. The Thai Tea was so weak, I thought they used a tea bag. Prices are high, yes crisp veggies, portions are normal. Family owned who take advantage of uneducated people. Sorry to say and it seems this is the only Thai in the area. Better Luck Next Time.

Dao (not sure if I'm spelling that right), the owner specializes food for allergies especially GLUTEN FREE, which is great for my mom so she can get more than just a salad. It's also BYOB.
