I like this restaurant because the food tastes good. However, I was shocked when I was asked to pay an extra fee (£1) for just a little more sauce—sauces without filling. I wasn't asking for much, probably just two tablespoons. 😅😅😅😅😅😅 The first two times I came here, I was not charged an extra fee. If they expected me to pay, they should have informed me during my first visit to avoid disappointment. Moreover, I have never been asked to pay for extra sauce in any other restaurant. 😅😅😅😅 If there is a charge for additional sauces, it should be clearly stated on the menu.

Have had takeaway a few times from here and it varies. Although i enjoyed my first order from here some time ago but since then the quality has seemed to of declined. Portions vary, sometimes overcooked. Today the pad thai with chicken was dry and noodles all clumped together, overcooked/no moisture. Had the whole fried sea bass and feel its a tad over price for what it was.. the garnish which were lettuce leaves went soggy and browned by the heat of the seabass which was unpleasant to eat (even the salad deserves to be loved) Maybe it depends on the chef Or better to eat in if that's possible I saw many good reviews which is why I returned even if it wasn't consistent.. hoped that I just caught it on a bad night, but unfortunately it's not for me.

As a guest at Penta Hotel this place is nearby. The portions are quite mean. I’ve been a few time In a couple weeks and am disappointed each time with how very tiny the portion size is. It’s basically kids portions.

Closest to Thai food that tastes like Thai food since our last visit to Chiang Mai. Atmosphere is basic, but I'm here for the food ! Spice level a little lower that Thailand, but definitely got the other Thai flavours, Thai Basil, Lemon Grass, Lime Leaf etc etc. No problem recommending ThaiGrr 👍👍

This photo speaks itself! Fantastic fried chicken legs! Super crisp skin - don’t forget the crispy tasty skin stick to the end of bone! Best of all, not an oily fry dish and no under skin fat as well!

I've ordered through deliveroo twice. The first order, the starters were great, I got sweetcorn cakes and gyoza, which I highly recommend. However the main, I'd ordered garlic chicken and there was nothing garlic about it.. Nothing like the picture. Tasted slightly sweet and that was about it. The chicken was also NOT battered as it was said to be in the description. I'm still torn as to whether they sent me the wrong thing or not. Second order, I ordered the same starters which, were still great - the quality did not change. I enjoy the sweetcorn cake and gyoza a lot - however the main again, I ordered the red curry and the the chicken was inedible.. It was almost black, and it tasted very strange and everything it touched got that taste. I had to push it all to the side and eat the aubergine and the rice which was covered in the very watered down sauce.. If you want a good red curry Bolan does it MUCH better.. Quite disappointed, I wish the mains lived up to the starters quality wise.

I found one long greyish black hair in my prawn rolls and this is the first time I order from this restaurant on Deliveroo! I felt a hair in my mouth, pulled the food out and found it stuck in the rolls still... This is the first time this happened in my life and it's ultimately disgusting... Don't order from this place guys. I have asked for full refund on Deliveroo, because I'm too scared to eat anything else that's from this place, and I would like compensation as well😇😇😇

Just had some great food from here this lunchtime. Food is always first class and service is fantastic. Just seen the review from the last person we must have been at 2 different restaurants, it seems she's the type of person whom is after free food. Need concentrate on cleaning her nails before commenting on others ha. Anyway its great, I highly recommend.

Very very bland and mediocre food in tiny portions which is overpriced, absolute dire surroundings tables were dirty with flies on them, staff will ignore you forever even when we were the only people eating in and prioritise only deliverrro orders, I has to ask for cutlery also which they don't care to give, avoid!!

Outstanding and very authentic food!! I have lived in Thailand and it is generally very difficult to find authentic flavours overseas… ThaiGrr! is really authentic! The level of spiciness is on the mild side, but you can ask to go the extra Thai mile! Thai tea is REAL! Not made from instant, as many other places do… I will return for sure! 🇹🇭😍🇹🇭

One of my favorite Thai restaurant in Reading. It's located in front of Queens Court. Thai dish is really authentic, especially Khao kaa moo(my favorite) ,and the spicy sauce that comes with this dish. Delicious, Kind staff, and clean table !

I’m a big fan of Tom Yum soup, so I came here to try theirs, and I was very impressed! It’s packed full of flavours, it has good quality ingredients and it is just the right amount of spicy, perfect on a wet and cold January evening. I will go again for sure.

I loved every dish I tried here. The food is delicious, especially the curries. Usually in Thai restaurants I've been to in Reading, the curries don't have enough texture which make them have a water-like quality which I'm not a fan of. That's not the case in this restaurant. The curries here have the right amount of density, so you can really taste all of the ingredients the chefs put in them. Therefore, the curries here are a must when visiting. The soups are also delicious and I am pleasantly surprised, being half Italian, that they serve tiramisù as a dessert option. This will certainly be a regular place for me to come and enjoy proper Thai food. The friendly staff and the wide selection of food on the menu only serve to bolster my previous sentiments. You get so much bang for you buck at this place, as well! Overall, a superb restaurant and I wish them continued success in the future.

If you haven’t eaten yet, I would say it’s not good to eat. I ordered chicken rice but it was so hard. The waiter’s attitude was so bad that he didn’t know where the good reviews were coming from. There was no seasoning to contend with.

Fabulous food in a cafe style venue, but don't let that put you off. Lived in Thailand for work reasons in the '80s and 90's and travelled back in the '00's. This is the most convincing Thai food I have had in the UK. Fabulous.

What a hidden gem in Reading! After reading all the reviews I’ve decided to give it a try and I’m so very impressed with the friendly service and the authenticity of Thai food here. There are so many choices on the menu and some daily specials too aside from the ready cooked dishes from the counter. Prices are reasonable, portions are good. The shop is located outside the mall on the alley. You must try this place and I’ll definitely return. 😍

Had the Tom yum goong soup and the shrimp pad Thai, both were delicious and the portion was very generous. Will definitely come back again more for the food here.

Reviews are lying. Definitely one of the best Thai restaurant in UK. I’m from Scotland, come down south to visit friends, booked a table for dinner. Absolutely love food here. I personally take really spicy food, ordered ThaiGrr Roar (with 4 chillis on the menu), spicy enough for me and also very tasty. Love ThaiGrr fried chicken, must have! Thai milk iced tea is also very delish. Definitely will come back next time when I’m visiting.

i was doing deliveries today at thaigrrr when i entered shop smell of food was damn nyc so couldn’t stop myself to buy regular box noodles nd sweet chicken was damn gud i remember that taste i used to eat in netherlands gouden wok. overall loved price is bit high in comparison to quantity rest excellent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Simple in its menu approach and decoration, the food was surprisingly good value for money and, given its location being a bit away from main roads, fairly quiet.

Had the fried sea bass with spicy sauce and stir fired vegetables with rice. Generous portions and shared with two for 30 quid. A delight to the sense of taste! Will be back again when in Reading.

Disappointed - despite the excellent reviews the food quality was poor and was not as advertised. Have tried the sweet chili chicken and sweet and sour chicken but I haven't finished either, they were tasteless, slimy, and were all poor cuts of meat. The only thing I finished was the satay which was OK.

Just popped in for lunch with my 12yo. We shared spring rolls, and a large half/half bowl of massman curry/chilli chicken with rice which all came to just £13 with 2 drinks. This was an awesome lunch. I'd highly recommend. 12yo says it was exquisite - high praise!

The best Thai food in Reading by some distance, at an excellent price. Have both ordered delivery and dined in several times and the quality of dishes is consistently great. Moo pad prik, minced pork pad ka praw with fried egg, laab gai and fried chicken are some of my favourites! Everything is full of flavour and I love that they don't hold back on the chilli when needed. Textures are spot on too (that crispy chicken skin...). There is obvious love and care going into this food, the best kind of restaurant.

Probably in the top 5 best deals in town. Going by the visuals on arrival, you might not expect much, as the emphasis appears to be on speed. Somehow, they sacrifice nothing on speed while providing equally high marks in the flavour category. Each dish you might recognise from past take aways is elevated to full-service restaurant quality. Massaman curry has almost no right to be that tasty!

Food is excellent. Very good quality and quantity for money. I had both takeaway and dine in food and have tried several dishes. All delicious! I'm not sure if it's a family business, but everyone there is super nice and has a great smile 😊

I had stopped ordering/eating Thai food in the UK because it was not just disappointing but an embarrassment to the mighty Thai cuisine. Then ThaiGrr happened and wow wow wow. You've got to come here for some authentic delicious mouthwatering food! It brought me back to the time I was backpacking in Asia! Don't be discouraged by the way it looks, it might look very cold and minimalist, get in there and order the delicious food! We will for sure come here more often!

It must be our new favorite food in Reading (and we love quite a few local indies). We have tried half of their menu so far and cannot wait to taste the rest! 10/10 absolutely worth visiting. The guys are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Make sure to get the fresh prawn spring rolls and leave some space for the mango sticky rice. Mind that their spicy is spiiiicy but you can still taste other flavours. We have no pictures as we simply ate the food too quickly. But the presentation always looks appetizing. Hidden treasure in Reading for Thai food lovers ! Ordered by chance through Deliveroo and this by far is the most authentic Thai joint in and around Reading.. they have found a fan in me :)

This is the best Thai restaurant we have ever tried! There are so many dishes that you wouldn't usually find outside of Thailand. We have ordered many times as well as dined in and every time the food was delicious. The service is great, the owner is always attentive, polite, and very helpful with recommendations. This is one of our favourite place in Reading and we are on a mission to try every single dish!

From the outside ThaiGrr! looks like just another Wasabi or Kokoro, but the taste and the attention to care is something else entirely. They have their ready-to-eat curries and stews in hot basins, my favourite being the authentic moo pad prik (pork belly stir fried in red chilli paste), but really the stars of the show are their made-to-order specials like their kor moo yang (grilled pork neck), a dish that I had not yet found outside of Thailand. At normal restaurant prices, it's not cheap for the bare surroundings, but what's lacking in decor is more than made up for by the flavours and service. Their khao kha moo (stewed pork leg) comes with beautifully fatty, fall-apart-in-your-mouth skin. Both their fried chicken and crispy squid come fresh and hot, and if you manage to catch their summer special dessert of mango sticky rice then count yourself lucky. What a fantastic and daring new addition to Reading, I hope they do well and continue to churn out courageous new specials to their menu! :)

The staff were very friendly and welcoming when I went here. There was little wait for the food, it came out very quickly. The food was piping hot when it was served, which was great. And the flavours definitely delivered. I would definitely recommend the shrimp, light but with a satisfying crunch. Honestly, I enjoyed everything. The noodles are on the spicy side, which I was fine with, but just be wary of that. The Citrus iced tea was refreshing and light, and was a good accompaniment to the food. I had a great experience and will definitely return.

Can I give 6 stars? Clearly the owners have thought of all aspects which is great to see!: Ordering was easy, online payment easy, food is better than many other Thai restaurants, portions are big enough, rice included in price, and all wrapped in compostable packaging (although wrapped in cling film)....Tastes delicious :) Recommended!

The food is absolutely delicious, and the changing specials are dishes you'd rarely ever find in Thai restaurants in the UK: Khaow Moo Daeng, Khaow Kaa Moo, Khaow Man Gai. The crispy chicken salad was 10/10, the crispy chicken 10/10, Massaman curry 10/10, Som Tam 9/10 (the seasoning sauce was a bit different to what I'm used to) and the Salt/Pepper squid also 10/10. The staff are super friendly and it's run by Thai chefs/owners, so you won't find any Anglo-Chinese-Thai fusion dishes. I'm really excited to see what they do - I'd love to see some regional speciality weeks, where the menu flips and showcases a different จังหวัด - so pleased we have an authentic Thai in Reading now. I'd normally never compare in a review, but when looking at Thai places in Reading: Rosa's Thai is delicious, but since their chefs left and it's made at the Deliveroo kitchen, it's not the same as you'd get in their Brixton/Liverpool/etc branches. Thai Corner is also excellent, but the menu is not as authentic and "street food" style as ThaiGrr! As for Thai Now, Paya, Bolan, My Wok - I'd class them as Thai/Asian-inspired. I'm basing my judgement on living in Bangkok for a number of years and comparing to what I'd eat there.

Som Tum is on the menu and its takeaway delivery format was interesting. Got the impression there were chefs behind the wall who knew what they were doing and would go off-piste on request. Lots of space in front of the counter for antics whilst waiting.

Everything I have tried is tasty, but their special menu Khao Kha Moo is my most recent favourite.The taste is very authentic Thai and I am really glad that I now have another great restaurant in Reading to go to when I feel too lazy to cook Thai food myself. I also like their well thought on eco-friendly take-away packaging!

Heard some great reviews from friends about this new restaurant in Reading, so my partner and I decided to try it out. Initially we thought Thaigrr is just the Thai version of "Wasabi" serving ready-to-go Thai food at reasonable price. But we couldn't be more wrong. Thaigrr is more than that, they also have a selection of cooked-to-order dishes where their experienced Thai chefs will only cook as and when the customers order. That explains the restaurant quality of the food they served. We ordered 2 soups, 1 starter and 2 rice dishes. The food was just utterly delightful and the Thaigrr Fried Chicken is to die for. Definitely a must-try dish and you will not be disappointed. Big thumbs up 👍 to Thaigrr, what a great addition to the food scene in Reading. Can't wait to eat there again.
