TGI Fridays - Leicester Highcross in Leicester

Had a really good experience here for a first date back in December so decided to come back to celebrate an event last week, understood the company had gone into administration so was willing to understand slack in attitude and lack of food/drink options. We were shocked to find that they had put up the food prices, £20 for four tortillas, one bit of chicken breast and some seasoned veg! We had finished our meal within a decent time and then waited 30 minutes hoping someone would come ask us if we wanted desert or at the very least take the dirty plates away. We witnessed two members of staff flirting with each other running around laying tables giggling rather than waiting on people. After 45 minutes I had to go and ask someone for the bill as frankly we were fed up of waiting despite attempts to flag the staff and make eye contact, I was very polite however when I got the bill we had been charged for two drinks we didn’t have totalling an extra £20, this was rectified but with no apology from the waiting staff, the bartender couldn’t have been more understanding so props to her. Conclusion, I can see why the company has fell the way it has.

Very long to get orders taken and for 1st drinks to arrive. It felt like they were understaffed and they took a long time to clear away dirty tables. Staff was not knowledgeable about portion sizes so a half rack of ribs was not enough and more food needed to be ordered.

Food was lovely, Alex did a great job!

We were served by Michael who was new. He was fantastic! Really made an effort for the kids and made our nephew with additional needs completely welcome by answering all his questions, not minding about very specific requests and repairing his balloon animal.

My wife and I arrived around 12.30ish, we wasn't greeted at the entrance like normal. But nothing to worry about. We were asked to sit against the window area but all the seat were filthy, so I asked if they had a rag to wipe the seat which the waitress cleaned it for us. Then while we were sat enjoying ourselves. They placed another party in the next bay. Due to this the was a constant back and forth with the back rest and it moved so much, that we requested to move. Which was great and we noticed that the booth seat had a massive chunk missing out of it. And to push thing over the top, it was absolutely freezing in there and all you could see was these horrible looking industrial heater on wheels. I don't think we are going to go back there

Had an excellent lunch experience here today. Jordan served me and she was very attentive with exceptional service. I had the Cajun spiced mac and cheese and it was delicious, super cheesy and creamy, 10/10 would come again and would recommend

If there was an 0 option then I would've pressed it. Went here earlier in the year, I will not return. Food was ok , not amazing. Very over priced. I dined with a group for a special occasion. Waited nearly an hour for our starters and had to go to the bar to remind the staff we wanted to order drinks. The mains were also very late. We spent nearly three hours in the restaurant. The restaurant wasnt even busy. No excuse. Service was dreadful. I will never return to this restaurant.

Visited after a long time. We didn't have particularly high expectations but though it's a safe bet for a quick bite. The seats and tables were sticky. Our waiter wore a dirty T-shirt. The water glass had to be replaced as dirty inside. The food was ok-ish except for the side dish of coleslaw which was literally shredded cabbage and carrots, dry with no dressing at £4.60.... My friend felt sick for the rest of the day after having a burger. Overall very overpriced, dirty and low quality of food.

Unfortunately the food was really average,our server was great she was doing her best. TGIs was great 30 years ago.

Had a group meal here last night (31/07/2024) the food was so overpriced, the cocktails (2 for £16 were watered down and hugely overpriced, not really 2 for 1 at £16) it was so hot in the restaurant with no air conditioning, staff were flat, unfriendly and we stood waiting for almost 10 minutes before being seated even though it was very quiet. overall it was poor value for money, and not a great dining experience at all! will not be going back here again! food wasn't that great for what we paid

Staff were just lovely and really helpful. Food came quick was hot and tasty and kids pack was great to keep my 5yo busy while waiting. Got one kids meal free too with the summer hols deal.

We were served by Lou-Ann who was absolutely amazing, nothing was too much trouble and she made the whole experience such a pleasure. She really is a credit to TGI's, she was so warm and friendly. The food, as always, was top notch and the 2for1 cocktails went down a treat too!

Advertised as closing 21:30. Refused to serve me at 21:00 saying the kitchen was already closed. False advertising!

Went here yesterday for my birthday meal! The only things that were nice, were the starters! Me and partner both ordered the steak medium rare, one of which came out the most chewy steak I’ve ever had! So my partner switched and gave me his, which was closer to well done! The mushrooms were what can only be described as raw! The fries had absolutely no potato in them at all! I asked for mayonnaise and was given a bottle with enough for a 20p sized squirt! The food was dry! My partner left with the taste of blood in his mouth and to top it off his pint of Guineas was warm, in a filthy glass! We will never go to TGI Fridays again! I’d never been before and thought we’d try it cause people are always raving about it and for the life of me I can’t understand why! Completely inedible!

Used to love coming here but it has gotten so expensive, almost £70 for 2 people to have a main & drinks. Shame because the food is nice, especially the jack Daniels glaze, really should start selling that in bottles, it's delicious

As a long time fan of TGI Friday’s, I went and had their famous sesame chicken strips, a Jack Daniel burger, and a portion of their cheese & bacon loaded fries. Simply put, the chicken strips were perfect as always, and the burger was cooked well and very tasty, especially when smothered with the JD sauce! However, the cheesy bacon fries were underwhelming, and for some reason the bacon that topped the fries were awful. I would have thought it would taste just like the bacon in my burger, which was great, but it didn’t taste good at all, and actually prevented me from finishing the meal. Whenever I visit Friday’s I’m usually inclined to give a perfect score, but the loaded fries detracted from what would have otherwise been a flawless experience!

My wife and me went for our 52 nd wedding anniversary.No complaints at all.The waitress was excellent and they made a bunch of flowers out of balloons.didnt find it over expensive.5 stars

we were placed near an open kitchen which was loud and extremely hot it took some time to get the right menus arranged and the first round in but our server was absolutely lovely and really made the night! Big thanks to Lou Ann

We had an amazing time at TGI Fridays for my son's 10th birthday. The food was delicious, and Neil, the manager, along with Sienna, made a wonderful surprise for Connor, who can't eat gluten. They prepared a huge dessert just for him, which he could share. The whole team then sang him a birthday song, making the experience even more special. Their effort and kindness truly made his day unforgettable. Thank you so much to everyone at TGI Fridays for making his birthday so fantastic!

Quick and friendly service , tasty food

I was dubious about whether to visit TGI's as I'd seen there have been some reviews posted over the past few months that are more on the negative side, however, I cannot disagree with them more. I came here for a late birthday meal with friends, and we all really enjoyed the evening. The cocktails that we had were strong, however, that's no complaint in my eyes, they were so delicious! We all had starters and mains and I'd opted for the Fridays Chicken Strips to start, and the Frank's Red Hot Chicken Burger for the main. Both dishes were so good, and the sauce that comes with the chicken strips in an absolute must try! I have to say the food was on the pricey side however the food is spot on, perfect even, so I had no obligations paying the prices. Our server was Toby and he was very attentive and friendly and we couldn't fault him one bit. I'd say if you don't mind paying that little bit extra then it's well worth a visit. I'd definitely come again, 1000%!

Got food poisoning, so do not reccommend at all! It was a quiet time when we ate and staff were very blasé with service. Used to love having cocktails and food here and of course will never be returning. Over priced also for what is it. AVOID.

We booked the cocktail master class for a hen party, Sienna was absolutely amazing! Fabulous service, amazing experience and great atmosphere. Neil and Jordan joined in the fun and were great as well. We had the best time and are looking at booking again! Thank you so much to you all for such a great afternoon!

I come here on occasion and the staff are always happy to facilitate any special requirements or wishes myself or the party should have. They're very attentive. Trust the food to be good and tasty, I find the price to be a good reflection of the level of service and quality of food - again, which is very good.

Came in today for some lunch with my family. Milly served us and she was absolutely amazing making sure to look after us and keep our drinks topped up. The food was amazing and came out promptly too

Decided to try TGI Fridays today while me and my partner had come to Leicester for a change and it did not disappoint. Service was top notch, the beer was refreshing and the food was delicious! Hats off to your chef.

Came in for some cocktails today and was amazed by the service. The drinks were amazing and who can say no to 2 for 1. Young lady who served us was really chatty and genuinely seemed interested. Great staff! Great cocktails! Great food!

The food was OK, which ...perfect for American feast food as expected. Manager, I think she was extremely rude. They'd ran out of the fish, the red wine we asked for, the cider and cranberry juice. ON A SATURDAY evening. The place wasn't very busy. I still had to wait 20 minutes to be seated even though precooked. Huge que waiting outside to go in. Very pricey

I mean, it's okay, the food is decent, but during all these years I've never had a good service experience in Leicester branch... my daughter loves the restaurant so we go there from time to time but I really wish we didn't. There are always some issues, slow service, sometimes rude, inattentive, managers should really look into providing enough floor staff because it's not even the waiters fault most of the times, it's a poor management and badly planned shifts. There many (if not all of them) better restaurant in Highcross area where food is better and you'll receive a spot on service every time.

We came here for a meal on a quiet weekday night. Amy was so incredibly accommodating and polite. She helped us out with recommendations and any enquiries we had. She was so lovely and personable and made sure to have a nice little chat with us every time she came over which was massively appreciated. Such lovely staff and food, we will be back soon. Great food amy was just brilliant

I recently visited this Thursday just gone. The food and service was phenomenal, I will absolutely be going back soon. I had a burger and chips, the chips were extremely tasty. The experience was that much better, because our server Amy was wonderful. I hope she had a lovely rest of her shift.

The temperature in the restaurant was slightly uncomfortable, which hindered my ability to fully relax.

I have great memories of visiting TGI’s, but I think it’s just a memory now. The burgers are Massively over priced and not anything special, minimum £20, a joke. You’d be better off and probably cheaper at Miller & Carter and that’s saying something. Staff seemed miserable and uninterested in interacting, didn’t leave happy. Rather regretful that I decided to go there and spend the money I did. I’d give it a second thought if you want to go here, choose a nice pub, you’d have a better meal and at a much better price and probably a nicer atmosphere, like turn the lights on, your making enough at these prices.

First time I have taken my partner as he has never been before was welcomed and great service from the staff, looked after our boys by waiter Toby 5 star what a great guy, topped off by brilliant guy at the bar unfortunately can't remember his name. Very attentive waitresses aswell, boys had a great time, unfortunately the food was not as good since takeover by new manager as an adult eating of a child's plate whilst kids ate of adults plates, thank you to the lady that sorted our bill 👍 brilliant staff shame about the food. Have a good shift all off you was a pleasure for customer service perfect..

I give one star because you can't put less. The worst restaurant of this chain that I have ever visited. almost no drinks available, very small food portions. They charged me 4 pounds for a children's orange juice that was really impossible to drink due to its poor quality. Dry fries, dirty glasses. It's not worth the money you pay. very disappointed
