TGI Fridays - Birmingham NEC in Solihull

Went in tonight before T&D, it was rammed. Had to wait for a table but sat outside and had a drink. Taken to a table after about 20mins, Hollie served us. She got the drinks ordered before we ran out. Food was ordered and didn’t disappoint! Even had room for desserts. Will be back 😄

Me and my partner have just visited here and both had a smash burger which was absolutely amazing! The service from Alison was 5 stars aswell. Would deffo recommend coming here again!

Went here yesterday before the War of the world’s musical. We used to love TGIF and were sad that some places we used to go closed down. Had a porn star martini which was too sweet, under shaked and lacked a little decoration. We had nachos, which were very good. My husband had chicken fajitas, which were served in a pan but not sizzling hot and lacked flavor. The wraps were lukewarm , almost cold. And the cheese could have been more. I had the meatless sesame strips with sweet potato fries. The fries were good. The strips were ok but mediocre really. We had a milkshake and sorbet as dessert and they were good. Mains at around 21 pounds got to be a joke and overall the price for the food is too high for what you get. We paid 97 all in. Which is far too high. Our server was very good and he was the saving grace. We will not come back. There are better places which deliver better quality food and drinks for cheaper. And I don’t mean I won’t pay more. Happy to do so if the food is amazing.

Food was the best we’ve had in a while, seems like TGI’s is back on the up after a few not so great visits at other locations, cocktails as tasty as usual (got 2 extra on the house due to a mistake being made too) Want to specifically say that the Host this evening (18/4/25, 18.30) I believe her name was Amber, did a fantastic job of working under the pressure of a lot of waiting (and complaining) customers. We forget that the world is understaffed at the moment, and people complaining about bad service is the reason people don’t want to work within the catering industry, compiling the problem and slowing things down… Raising your voice at a young woman who is doing her best to juggle so many people, just makes you look pathetic and childish, and I hope it makes you feel better about yourselves on some cosmic level. Learn some compassion, close your mouths and grow up!!! All staff though were fantastic overall and would definitely return to this location in a heartbeat based on the experience today and definitely recommend visiting here for those headed to any gigs in the arena (make sure you book in advance for an early visit (before 17.30))

Ordered the mix grill £40 dish and other dishes plus drinks, my mix grill was terrible so over cooked and steak cut in half, overall the meal was a disaster, staff where nice and polite, eat somewhere else

Had a lovely time David was our server and made us feel very welcome, he was kind and funny. Food was nice I had ribs that fell off the bone they were lovely!

I'm very disappointed. The service was actually quite terrible. We had a table for 5 on a Saturday evening after Crufts. We were largely ignored, and the starters and mains arrived at the same time. I have a food allergy, and the people bringing the food didn't even know which burger was which (all selected differently). Seriously? Must do better.

What a waste of time! They first said we had to wait 30 minutes for a table only to realise we could book online and get one straight away. Then when they gave us a table, the seats were filthy. Then we had to wait 10 minutes to order and after 40 minutes of waiting for our food, we decided to leave. The staff are not very clued up on what's happening in the restaurant and the beers are disgusting!

First time at TGI Friday. Would definitely recommend. Great choice of food, fast service. All the staff were friendly. Was quite loud but all adds to the atmosphere.

Absolutely shocking service, booked a bottomless brunch, waited 10 mins for the waitress to come and take our first drinks order. 20mins still waiting for drinks! Walked out!

Appalling service - tried on 5 occasions to book for a large party by calling and leaving a voicemail and by emailing. No one ever got back to me and my first call was 4 weeks in advance. Would not recommend if you want to make a large group booking.

I visited TGI Fridays Birmingham with my wife on Friday, and it was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere and interior are rich with history, creating a unique and welcoming vibe. Right at the reception, there’s a Harley-Davidson on display—I couldn’t help but imagine taking it for a ride! The staff were absolutely fantastic and incredibly attentive, especially Louisa from France. And you know what? French people are so friendly and full of humour! Thanks to her, we had an amazing time. She even joked that I could ride the motorbike—as long as I wore a helmet! So I’m already looking forward to my next visit. 😁🏍 A huge thank you to the entire team for making our visit so special!

Toilets were horrific, and also so off putting when a member of staff is using the loo to come out and not even wash their hands. Put me straight off the food.

Place wasn't busy, got a table. Very dark couldn't see menu without phone torch. Ordered grill chicken burger and fries £19.95 the tiny bit of chicken, probably third of a breast in smallest bun ever and doubt it saw a grill. absolute joke looked like a kids meal. Cobb salad was awful. Total bill came to £80. I expected to pay bit of a premium at NEC but awful overpriced food was what I got. To be fair the lad serving was excellent. Would never go to tgi again.

This was nice place to eat before the Snow Patrol concert we were going to. Service was excellent thanks Milly and food was usual TGI standard. Unfortunately we had a family of morons next to use shouting and banging the tables for attention, which was a distraction. A nice touch was playing Snow Patrol tunes through the restaurant to get you in the mood for the gig.

Food and atmosphere was very busy but excitable. Hollie was the best server, food and drinks were fast but she made the experience 10/10

Visited T.G.I Fridays for lunch, the place was quiet, i was there for an event at the BP pulse, was seated strait away, took a while for someone to take my order, i ordered Mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce,( (just under £10!) what i got to what i was expecting was a shock, what i was expecting was thick gooey cheesy goodness, which i had had in the past from TGI's, what i got was small tubes of breaded nothing! then for main ordered the grilled chicken burger and fries,( just under £20!) what i got was what looked to be on a kids plate a small slider type burger with a very small piece of Grilled?? chicken erm think not, and a small cone of fries, also ordered a refill drink, got my 1st drink, then finished as the main came out, not asked if wanted a top up, had to collar a staff member, had already finished eating my main! when it came to pay i was handed a greasy screened card machine. I was expecting the old TGI experience I've had at previous visits Shocking!!

Well, where do I start.. I've been coming to this TGI's for 4 years now. It's had the odd rocky road but usually been pretty good and never really had any issues over the years. Myself & 2 others attended last night, & well, what can I say..Fantastic. The staff have ALWAYS been amazing, and last night we were waited by a new lad, who was really polite and kept us upto date. As for our food? Outstanding. Myself and my friend decided to have the Ultimate American Grill, because it's back on the menu after the "Texan" was taken off. It was cooked to perfection, and a hell of alot of food for the money. Absolutely fantastic. Overall- I've always been impressed and enjoyed the Vibes here. But last night was just awesome. Cheers guys!

We decided to have tea here Thursday 9th January and had awful service and burnt food .. the waitress who served us made us feel so uncomfortable as she did not smile once she did not ask us how our food was and the drinks that we ordered were just bought to our table and we were told here’s your drinks even though we had ordered 1 normal coke and 2 diet cokes so we had to guess who’s was who’s .. after eating the waitress asked us if we wanted anything else to which we replied no thank you so she then said shall I just get you the bill then .. surely the waitresses should be asking if everything is ok with our food and telling us which drink is which and asking us if we would like to see the desert menu and not asking us if we want anything else and it’s usually the customer who asks the waitress for the bill ? The food was burnt and the service was awful

When we first sat down, first thing we noticed was dirty cutlery. We moved to another table and that was all good. Ordered our drinks and was told there is no diet coke. Ordered our food to be told there were no onion rings. The food was extremely over priced for the poor offererings we ended up with. Mac and cheese was dry and cold. Lesson learned. Won't be going there again.

One of the worst experiences ever witnessed. The manager was quite rude and discriminating. The seasame strips were served cold and it took server forever to take order. Extremely understaffed and poor management. No wonder this chain has gone bankrupt.

Never been to this TGIs before but all the other ones had closed down so had no choice to pick this one for my daughters birthday I had booked this in a month in advance when I got there to my disappointment I was separated from my family that had come to celebrate my daughters birthday we was put on two tables when asked if there was not a table were we could all sit together or if they could push some tables together we was told no and this was the only option this meant for the time we was their we were shouting across tables just to talk or we just didn't mix with the family that had to sit at the other table this was very disappointing and ruined the whole experience the food was OK but I have had better at other TGIs restaurants and had to wait along time to get drinks I won't be going back as its not worth the money anymore

Hi there, I’m just wondering why the Friday mozzarella cheese sticks have been changed to such flimsy, skinny ones with hardly any cheese inside. I was really disappointed, as I was really looking forward to them. On top of that, the main course was slightly cold, which was also disappointing.

I had a meal and some delicious cocktails with my mother in the 2023 summer months. It's a fun place to eat with lots of musical artifacts on the walls. Good atmosphere with wonderful views over the Resort World's lake. The 🍸liqueur coffee cocktails were really decadent 😋

dear gods, 18 quid for a burger? who do they think they are, 5 guys? it was delicious but unless it's welsh black or wagyu that price was insane! staff were friendly, competent, and quick but overworked per area.

Abbie was very friendly and welcoming. Fast service and fast refills on drinks. 4 stars as I feel then menu is over priced for what it is. Over £20 for the sesame chicken.

I visited this TGI in August as part of a group and ordered the mac and cheese. I wanted to add the BBQ pulled pork but it was unavailable. I should have had an incling of what was to come when the waitress asked me 3 times if I wanted to change my order... When the food came I had a large plate of boiled pasta in what can only be described as a weak milk sauce. It was the worst food I've ever ordered from a restaurant or a food sales stall in any shape around the world. I've never had a worse children's meal when my son orders let alone an adult meal. The food was totally tasteless and nothing like Mac and cheese you would expect. Not to mention the price. At almost £20 it's a real joke. I should have sent it back. I won't ever visit a TGI again. Service was ok. There was almost nobody else in the place (again another sign) but they still make you wait 15 mins for a table. I hope this will signal the end of the awful chain as I would rather starve in the future!

Appalling food quality and service. Waited 45 minutes for stone cold food. After sending back and eating we only just managed to get somebody over to pay our bill after 1 hour 50 mins. Manager was very immature and unhelpful towards complaints. Definitely avoid all..

Really crappy service. Long wait at the door, long wait to be served, long wait for the food and long wait for the dessert. When the order arrived, it didn't contain the same things as on the menu and the beef was overcooked. So all in all a crappy experience. Avoid.

Waitress was excellent as usual, they cant do anymore to make your meal enjoyable. Spot on !

I used to come here quite often, but last time I came in, I paid £33 for a surf and turf 8 ounce. I am very disappointed with the portions. The sauce didn't even cover half the steak. Chips and salad portions could barely feed a child. Sad to say I'm not coming here again.

I’m quite sure that there is an unwritten (or written in their contracts) rule that you must not take the orders of a customer for a minimum of 20 minutes of that customer walking through the door. It is a known joke in my family that you go to TGIs if you want to be ignored. Well well well. Jokes on us because we thought we would give it another try. Fourth time to be exact and tar daaaarrr. No service. Literally no service staff even looked in our direction for us to get their attention to order our drinks. We left. Don’t go. Your time is worth more than they think it’s worth . Have a great night anywhere else !!!

Firstly when we arrived I needed to use the toilet, upon going into the ladies toilets 3 of them were blocked with tissue and poo, there was blood on the seat of one. These toilets clearly hadn’t been cleaned in the last 24hours. The 4th toilet was out of service. I was already put off at this point. We then sat down and every other table that came in were offered drinks straight away only we had to call the guy over after waiting a while. The portion size has nearly halved, the Fridays glazed chicken burger I always get is now disgusting. It’s safe to say I will not be returning. For how much you pay to eat here now I’d be expecting much better services. We then waited for the bill for ages after our plates were taken away and no one came so we had to then walk to the bar to get it our selves, when the restaurant only had about 2 other tables of customers as it was 4pm in the afternoon. I wouldn’t waste your time or money.

Empty restaurant with zero atmosphere but no room for 6 people. Went back in and asked if we could have 2 tables of 3 as their large tables were all booked. The girl who sits everyone and who turned us away 3 minutes previously managed to sit us all together after all as it turned out. We thanked her very much, and then while we were perusing the menu in steamed Shannon. Deputy manager allegedly, but I think she just had the most badges on her lanyard, came over and accused us of swearing at the young girl we had just thanked for finding us the table. Terrible attitude and absolutely on a power trip. As we are all middle-aged professional people and absolutely did not swear at this girl, we got up and walked out. But not before she singled my wife out to try and imaprt her 'authority' on her. Her lack of intellect and vocabulary made it a short exchange, thankfully. My wife is a sales manger for a hospitality company and would not stand for any rude behaviour towards serving staff whatsoever, which is why we are so disgusted by this silly little girl's behaviour. So if you want to eat in a place with zero atmosphere and be served by little ego maniacs on a power trip, like Shannon, who I expect thinks serving people is beneath her as 'deputy' manager then this is the place for you. One star awarded because there are no minus options

Normally we find tgis great but this time we ended up walking out. I have never walked out of a restaurant before. We asked for a table and the lady said 15 minutes. The place was less than a 3rd full. We got a drink and waiting, longer than 15 minutes, around 25. There was a family next to us that had waited much longer and had warned us about the waiting time. We took our sits at the table, waiting over 10 minutes and no one came, there were 3 tables around us that were also waiting. This was unusual, especially as the restaurant was 2/3rds empty. The staff had no life about them, walking like they had no worries in the world. Several walking past multiple times, maybe they were told not to take orders yet. We decided to Google the reviews, saw that this waiting time has been an issue for a while and that customers hadn't enjoyed their food when it did arrive so decided to jump ship then and there. We went to the Italian inside and had a great meal with quick service. It's a shame as we do normally enjoy tgis but it will be some time before we return back and we will be checking the reviews to make sure it's improved first too. We do not blame the staff, it must be a management issue.

Honestly food was terrible drinks were terrible. Felt terrible for our waitress as it’s not our fault. Manager did do a discount etc but we still paid a decent amount of money for a terrible meal. I eat at TGIF regularly and this has to be the worst one I have stepped foot in ( 50 minutes for a mocktail) and was told they are rushing

Very slow service. Here for an hour before food came. Seems to be only one person making cocktails on bar and very limited waiting staff :( food was decent but came luke warm as seems to have been sitting for a while as was not bought to table .

Always loved coming here for date night but the recent price increase is a major put off. The service and atmosphere has always been brilliant but it seems corporate greed has taken over..

Very overrated and over priced half ultimate ribs was more like roadkill with splintered bones in every mouthful the slaw was laughable wouldn’t recommend

Just had dinner here.... really not impressed with the general attention to quality and customer satisfaction We ordered the ultimate grill (almost £40) which comes with slaw and a lettuce cob with blue cheese dressing.... the slaw was literally made up of bits of cabbage off the bottom on the stalk you would normally throw away, big, thick dry and brown pieces of cabbage. The lettuce was dried and browning and there was no dressing. The fact that someone put this on a plate, then on a tray and then on our table is shocking... as noone bothered checking on us through the meal it was at the end when I mentioned this and very little.in the way if anyone seeming to care. Maybe try somewhere else next time.

The staff were so lovely and welcoming! Door staff couldn't have helped us enough and ensured we had a lovely experience. The food was great, especially the chicken strips, and of course the cocktails! Also in a lovely location overlooking the lake. Great all round experience.

An experience I don't want to repeat. Site has outdoor seating so we asked if we could eat outside as it was a nice night, but were told food service had stopped for the outdoor area, no problem with that. The experience inside however left us feeling forgotten, large delay before taking our order despite someone cleaning tables right next to us. Order eventually taken and food came out, fries portion size has clearly changed, they used to come out in a separate tub but now in a paper fold on the plate, mozzarella sticks lacked much in the way of cheese, it was like biting into air pockets of breadcrumbs and the chicken fajitas come with 2 small tortillas, barely big enough to put more than 1 strip of chicken in. While eating we had servers on both sides of us having a conversation over our heads about how they hate cleaning tables, this was apparent as the table behind ours was vacated before we placed our order but still wasn't cleared. After finishing our meal we noticed there were customers being served food in the outdoor seating area, disappointing after being specifically told food service had stopped for that area. We finished our meals and were swayed on whether to have a dessert or not, after a lengthy wait our server came over and asked us if we wanted the bill, no mention of looking at a dessert menu so the decision was made for us. We said yes, she gave us our bill and left us with our dishes, making no effort to clear the table. This is when we discovered we had been charged for what we thought was a refillable soft drink, we discovered regular coke was not refillable which we did not know, normally I wouldn't have asked but after what was a fairly poor experience I thought I'd ask if we could possibly have the refill removed, but the server refused. We paid for the meal and left the restaurant, our dirty dishes still on our table and on the table behind us. I would suggest further training for the inexperienced servers, stressing the importance of the customers experience, and if service has stopped in the outdoor seating area this should apply to all.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND Had an excellent meal out with a large group friends. The staff were brilliant, the service was superb and the food was spot on! I was delightfully surprised with their speed of service, the tasty food, and that not one thing was missing or wrong with the order, (which for such a large group normally a side is missed or a drink, nothing major) but everything was spot on. Thank you to the all the staff who made our night a delight, and for your excellent customer service!

Absolutely shocking quality of food which seems to get more expensive every time we go. £20 for a bowl of cold pasta? I'm not sure if the management have changed here but the last two times we have been here it was been the worst experience. When it first opened the service and food was brilliant and the prices more realistic. Now there's loads of staff doing not very much. Don't think we will be visiting here again in a hurry. Had the veggie nachos which were just like slop. Pasta was cold. Chicken was cold. One of us had a burger which was tiny yet still over £20.

Ordered a medium rare steak, it came out well done and over saturated in sauce. Fries were undercooked. I also got the mac and cheese side which was alright, but needed more cheese.

Dropped in to escape the England footy match. Plenty of seating and was nice and quiet. Swift service and the food was delish. No complaints and thank you. Easy walking distance from the Hilton Metropole Hotel 👍.

The restaurant was practically empty but we still had to wait an hour for food which we had to chase twice, and still arrived cold. Over £40 for a small amount of cold food and poor service. I highly recommend avoiding this place.

Waiting time is an absolute joke staff couldn't move any slower at the bar. The food was terrible with no taste and extremely over priced. £11.25 for a glass of wine. We would have had a better meal at McDonalds. Chicken strips were tiny nuggets for £21 the glazed burger was tasteless and the loaded fries were awful nothing like the picture. We will not be coming back again awful simply awful and I left wlfeeling ripped off and robbed.

TGIs food quality has gone down and the portuon sizes have halved but the prices have skyrocketed. The only saving grace was our waiter who was really nice. However overall the atmosphere has changed gone the super friendly American style waiting staff. The American sized portions. It's all gloomy. Good for hen parties and kids. Overall a dissapoinent

Book a table but when we arrived we were told there was an hour wait…

As a Muslim, I ordered a burger that contained bacon and specifically requested the bacon be removed. I asked the waitress twice, and she assured me it would be taken care of. When the burger arrived, it still had bacon. I explained again that I could not eat bacon and requested a new burger. Less than a minute later, she brought back the same burger with the bacon simply removed. I reiterated that I needed a fresh burger without bacon, and she eventually brought another. Trusting it was new, I began to eat, but to my shock, I tasted something different, which ended up being a small piece of bacon. Basically they served me the same burger again minutes later pretending that they have prepared a fresh one. This experience was deeply disappointing and disrespectful.

What is this? Cancelled booking, with no warning.

Waited an hour and a half for food after being warned it might be 40 minutes (which is the upper end of reasonable and if they had been up front we would have tried elsewhere). When food finally arrived, the plastic sauce pot for one meal was melted and the two vegan burgers had real cheese in. Still here thirty minutes after they’ve taken the burgers back and they have not replaced them. This place has wasted our time and not even provided safe food, I would warn anyone away from coming near one of these ever again.

It’s very rare I’d leave a one star review for somewhere. Waiting times were long enough to the point part of my group had to leave to catch a train, meaning they had to have their food to take away with them. Upon enquiring the whereabouts of my food, I was met with a rather rude response from the manager insisting that that they had been taken away already. Instead of offering me a replacement or an apology, she proceeded to tell me there was nothing they could do. The miscommunication was their error, not mine, yet I somehow felt like I was being blamed for their mistake. For the prices they charge, this was a really disappointing experience.

Visited 28th May 2024 around 4pm: Just been charged £132 for the worst TGI Fridays visit I've possibly ever had. The food took so long to arrive that part of our group had to leave to go catch a train home, and asked for their food to be put in takeaway containers, which took the staff another 20 minutes to do. The food that did arrive took over 2 hours, which was ridiculous given the restaurant was nearly empty, with one member of our group missing their food entirely. We asked for a manager because we were annoyed by this point at what was going on, The manager was extremely rude and told us that the burger we ordered was placed in the takeaway bags with the other 2 that we had asked to be put in there (it wasn't). She tried to blame us for their mistake, and we were told there was nothing they could do. Absolutely disgusting service, especially for the prices they charge. I feel sorry for the staff that you can tell are trying their best only to be let down by other staff and the manager who clearly don't care in the slightest. Avoid.

Possibly the worst tgi Fridays I've been to. 40 minutes to get drinks in a nearly empty restaurant. Food taking longer after that. Not worth it. Go to karaage upstairs, much much better place.

Waited well over an hour for food, they quite obviously had forgotten it as when we mentioned it suddenly appeared. It was obviously sat underneath a heat lamp for quite some time which meant the Steak my partner ordered was cold and well done. Burger buns crispier than a pack of walkers crisps as a result of heat lamp for so long! When asked for the bill it took them 30 min to finally get us said bill. Very unapologetic, unprofessional too. Won’t be returning.
