TGI Fridays in Newcastle upon Tyne

I had a really good experience here. I went solo as I was craving TGIs, Set in a really good location, this restaurant offers a good selection on its menu and has some tempting cocktails/ mocktails! The 'Down Town' meal deal was a good offer and so I went with it. The food was really good quality, along with the service and altogether, the atmosphere was great! I'd definitely recommend TGIs for those that haven't tried it!

Great location, but TGI Fridays is not what it used to be when it started. Service was average, food was really overpriced and the whole experience lacked the buzz that TGIs used to be famous for. A real shame.

We had a lovely time for dinner. The food was good but our server Caitlin was the main reason it was so good. She was brilliant and kind.

My wife loves the JD chicken from here, great experience today thanks to our server Kala she was really friendly and attentive filling our drinks and serving with a smile! Portion sizes big too!

Second time visiting this TGI restaurant, the food was delicious! The chips and burger I had were really good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The music was a tad loud for the afternoon, but atmosphere and cleanliness was good.

Picked TGI Fridays for lunch while we were out shopping (Monday), didn't get off to a great start as we were left standing waiting to be seated for approx.. 15 mins, this was despite several members of staff walking past us and not one acknowledged us. Ordered drinks 1 drink came out straight away but waited quiet a while for the other 2 drinks, we had to ask a members of staff about the other 2 drinks and she said she would check, then came back with them straight away so presumably there were just sitting on the bar. We were seated opposite the food pass, we ordered our food and waited to be served. I noticed food had been put on the food pass and staff were just walking past, I even said to my partner that food had been sitting on the food pass for 15-20 minuets without been taken out, I watched as the waitress collected the food that had been there for some time and brough it to our table, as this was our starter I did not to say anything as I don't like to complain when you still have food to come. No sooner had we finished our starters the plates were taken away and our mains were brough out (more food I had seen sitting on the pass for over 10 mins). needless to say both the starter and main were barely warm. At one point a woman even came over to the pass to look for her food (more food sitting on the pass for some time), after she stood there for 5 mins then one of the staff members told her she would bring it over. When I did eventually get the bill I mentioned about the wait times to which she apologised and said they were short staffed, I counted 4 floor staff working the floor (well when they were about) and the place wasn't even half full (God help anyone that goes when it is busy)..

Absolutely fabulous, great food and amazing service. I particularly want to thank Lucy for being an absolutely amazing server with a fabulous personality and creating a really bubbly atmosphere. Also, really good at explaining the food for a first timer. Coming back soon!

Visited Newcastle to watch the match. Came in for food afterwards and was served by a lovely waitress called Robyn. She was very attentive, professional and provided excellent service. Highly recommend!

Went here the other day and couldn't fault our waiter Danny. He was running round like a headless chicken doing all the work while another waitress was stood talking to her mates for an hour before they left. He deserves the £20 tip he was given and needs a pay rise after that night.

okay, the service was fantastic, the lass was really nice and the cocktails were fab. unfortunately the food was so bad i don't think i could ever go back. total waste of money.

A fantastic meal with excellent service. We were served by Trevor who took our order and went through the menu thoroughly with us due to my partners nut allergy. My partner had the Ultimate Grill which he has eaten at other TGI restaurants but this was the best one he has ever had. My burger was cooked to perfection and our two children enjoyed their meals. Thank you Trevor for your friendly manner and for making our meal enjoyable.

Booked a table for 6 because we had the match at 7:30 this gave us plenty of time we thought, our food ended up taking nearly and hour for 2 burgers and chicken stripes and it finally showed up at 7:10 giving us 20 minutes to shove our food down our throats and run to the stadium. We saw many people walk out early for the same reason, and we couldn't enjoy our meal because of how late it was and how fast we had to eat.

Came here the other day there was only 3 or four people in still waited absolutely AGES for food, my partners food came out stone cold! The food is very overpriced for what you get!.. we have both had upset stomach’s since we have been NEVER EVER again!!!

Our server Lucy did an amazing job helped us feel accommodated and always had a smile on her face. She had plenty of banter and made us all laugh best server we could have had ☺️

Such a disappointing experience. I went out with my family for lunch and we have always enjoyed TGI Fridays. Today was the worst experience we have had with this restaurant. We waited 20 minutes for drinks alone, when there was only 5 other tables in at the same time. When we asked for extra plates we were ignored and didn't get them until we asked a 2nd time and they were finally brought over when we were practically done eating. When the food finally arrived it was look warm and the nachos were inedible. They were rock hard, and you couldn't pull them apart. We politely sent them back and requested a new one, only to receive the EXACT SAME dish 10 minutes later. We sent this back, and only once we had all finished eating did we get "new" nachos which were in the exact same condition; hard, cold, and inedible. We were extremely disappointed with our experience and will not be returning to this branch

Service was good for a Saturday lunch time. Little attention to detail was nice providing our toddler with a pack to keep her occupied. However the food was such a let down. Extremely over priced for what was served. Almost £20 for a basic cheeseburger and chips. Nothing special about it. Never had nachos like it. They were stuck together not through alot of cheese either. Snapped off into small piece's when tried to seperate them. Unfortunately didn't get any photos but wouldn't go back anytime soon!

Staff fab kala is a total gem 💙 food AMAZING! Atmosphere fab due to personal reasons of overstimulating loud noises were difficult I.e parents unable to control there kids screaming etc wich is a issue with parents not staff

Come in for a drink, the place is very nice, very American style within the shopping center in Newcastle. They have a very varied cocktail menu and they had the 2 for 1 offer. I ordered one that looked very good, but it was like milkshake, I didn't like it. All in all, a good place to take photos.

The server cat was specifically polite and friendly answering any questions we had and helped us where needs be, would definitely come back

Food was banging. The staff gave a warm welcome and sat us quickly, and our waitress Cat was just lovely - very friendly and accommodating :) (The prices are fairly high may want to bear that in mind)

All round disappointing. We could see the food sat on the hot plate for ages and when it arrived everything but the chips were cold. We ordered the wall to wall chicken which was dry and overcooked (possibly from being sat for so long). Macaroni cheese was awful and freezing cold, not sure why it was served this temperature. I’m type 1 diabetic and had taken the insulin for the food so couldn’t wait for a fresh order to be made hot so had to eat it. The make staff member was friendly and attentive but the test of the staff came across as very rude and spent a lot of time talking rather than getting food out which added to the problem

Went for the bottomless brunch with the cocktail add-on. The staff were great. Very attentive. Felt taken care of the whole time. I wish I could remember the two girls that took care of us.

Arrived here excited and with high expectations as the restaurant in Manchester was brilliant. We chose the lunch time special of two courses. I ordered some cheesy vegan topped potato skins and for the main a plant based loaded burger and fries. On arrival we were sat for a good fifteen minutes before we were even acknowledged. After placing g our order we waited twenty minutes for the starters to arrive. After that we waited a further half an hour for the mains before I had to asked for it to be boxed up as I had an appointment we were now in danger of being late for. This took a further fifteen minutes while we were arched our bag of food sat on the side. I asked if it was ours and if we could collect it to which he told us it wasn’t and we’d have to wait. In this time nothing extra was added to the bag to justify it being sat unattended and going cold. Eventually another waiter picked up our bag and gave it to us. The service was slow and the wait was unacceptable.

Lively and friendly environment, a very positive area. 👍 Well designed with a lot of thought, it went into the decor. 💡 It did take a little while for the food to arrive, and it was a little cold upon arrival. ❄️ The staff were very apologetic with this, and the food was still lovely to eat. 😋 I only noticed my mozzarella dippers could have done with a little more mozzarella. 🧀 Overall, great staff, lovely relaxed restaurant with good music. 🎶

Yes I understand there was an England football match on the same evening but the management should know this too and accommodate effectively. I had a booking for 6pm, we arrived 5:45pm. We got into the restaurant at 6:20pm. We ordered at 6:30pm. We didn't get food until 7pm. The order was incorrect and just not great I really hope this isn't the usual outcome when people go here as TGI's is a great establishment and all other restaurants I've been to have been fantastic but staff were standing around chatting where they could have supported customers more

Went to tgis for a drink and service was first class autumn deserves a special shout out ! Super attentive and knowledgeable about the cocktails be in served even told us about the cocktails off menu which are amazing ! The cocktails were perfect thank you so much autumn for a lovely experience we will be back

Had my sisters hen do here and would 100% recommend are waiter Ella was absolutely amazing such a lovely girl made sure we was all happy with our food and had everything we needed made our night with how lovely she was ☺️

Worst steak in Newcastle Service was beyond appalling Passive aggressive waitress Ridiculously priced steak with Chinese five spice as seasoning… Soft drinks taste like knock offs and not actual branded.

Family meal spoilt: Saturday early evening 6pm ish. Atmosphere not good, loud table nearby people drinking alcohol. Service: terrible, 20 mins to take order, additional 10 mins for drinks. Another 15/20 mins for food to table. Order was wrong when food taken back another 15mins to rectify order.Annoying part of this is when I asked how long is going to take to address the wrong order, I was told 2mibs, it wasn’t. People on nearby tables got up and walked out. They were sick of waiting. TBH, it wasn’t that busy. Wish I had walked. Food: order when brought to the table was wrong. Food appeared cold and looked as though it had been standing for ages. When I complained they taken one meal of the bill and an additional 10%. Having being a customer on a number of occasions at this branch with no issues, I will not be coming back here. TGI FRIDAYS, you need to lift your standards. I would not recommend this establishment.

The cocktails are always a must when coming here. Also the Jack Daniel sauce sesame seed chicken strips are an unreal! It’s not expensive and the atmosphere is usually pretty chill.

Food was alright, big portions and lots to eat but not excellent quality. Service was shockingly bad, barely anyone in and I lost count of the amount of plates smashed. Atmosphere was dead. I could count the amount of occupied tables on one hand.. on a Thursday Evening, during halfterm school break. Price was exorbitant. Shame. This used to be good.

Me and a friend went in to get some cocktails. We were told by the bar tender the £5 cocktails were s*** and we shouldn't buy them. I just wanted a pina colada but was told that was a boring choice and I should have a cocktail devised by the bar tender. Not impressed at all by the service and we wont be going back.

Went for bottomless brunch when we have previously went they allowed bottles of prosecco on the table as we were a big group (12) however this time would not allow this due to 'responsible drinking' and 'change of management'...don't offer a bottomless brunch if you want 'responsible drinking' all of the table upgraded however one of us was driving and they still had to pay the £40 which is understandable however would only allow one off menu MOCKTAIL despite only offering only one mocktail on the bottomless option. All menu mocktails should surely be available alongside the brunch especially for upgraded orders. Drinks/service was slow we were frequently without a drink due to the 'bar being backed up' they would take extra drink orders to mitigate this but that wouldn't come. It's a shame as previously this had been a great brunch!

Lovely surroundings, and food was the usual fab TGI tastiness! A little expensive (but everyone expects that when you come!) Our waitress Sharon was really friendly and attentive and service was great! Highly recommended :)

Went in for cocktails 🍸 👌 which were amazing

My first time giving TGI a try. We visited when it was quiet, got greeted warmly as soon as we walked through the door. We got seated by the window and our server, Toni, dropped off menus and was great at suggesting us food. We opted for Cajun chicken pasta and a children's meal. My mam is, dare I say it, very plain 🤣 The kinda gal who'd breathe fire eating the mildest chilli on earth so she risked ordering the Cajun pasta, like me. Very generous portions when it came to all our meals, served very hot. My mam did struggle with the Cajun spiced chicken but she soldiered on through as she was wiping sweat from her brow, what a trooper! Haha. I personally didn't find the meal spicy, just the usual Cajun kick. Toni popped back mid meal to see how we were getting on and asked if the meal was okay. My mam told her it was a bit spicy and she was apologetic and nice enough to offer an alternative dish for her but my mam politely declined and instead reached for the mayonnaise bottle to tone her dish down. When Toni came to clear our table she suggested I downloaded the app to earn points on our visit and to also get the children's meal for FREE. Say no more, done & done 👍 Overall a good visit. I think I'd definitely visit another TGI Friday's venue but Eldon Square branch will be my go to choice if I'm in the area.

Went in for my sons birthday was rushed into ordering food and drinks waited over a hour for 3 burgers what cost me roughly £20 per burger I also asked for a apple juice 4 times and never actually got anything after first being served

Went to TGI and got served by James he was a great host and helped us decide which cocktails. Just asked us what vibe we were feeling and delivered perfectly. We were provided with mudslides and a spur concoction. Definitely recommended!

I went for bottomless brunch. On arrival my group was taken straight to our table, service was a bit slow to get to our table (it was starting to get busy), but once our order was taken the food came out fast and tasted great. Toni came back from her break while we was eating and took over service for my table, she cleared the table as soon as we finished our food and made sure to come back to refill drinks once finished. Highly recommend.

honestly just wound me up. waited 45/50 minute for two main meals that were mediocre at best. wouldnt choose to eat here again, many better places in newcastle city centre

Arrived 5.30pm on Saturday 27th April It’s ironic when you book they tell you that you can have the table for 70 minutes, as after 90 minutes we had managed one course and one drink This happens every time and the restaurant was about 60%...

Been in this afternoon. Waited for a table, the buzzer never went off even though the staff insisted it had. Should’ve walked out at this point. Sat at the table had to ask to order after about 15 mins. Food never arrived after 20 mins and staff didn’t seem to care about customers. We walked out without having eaten. 2 other tables around us did the exactly the same while we were there. Worst experience of customer service.
