Overpriced + always forget your order

I am a long time graduate but today I went to the university cafe since I had a trial near by, the coffee was so bad and expensive the same as Starbucks prices for less value basically felt like I was drinking pure milk! For that price I think Costa or Starbucks has better coffee, and within a walking distance, But the staff were nice and the atmosphere was nice, less crowded than other cafes , not many selections of food.

It is clean and spacious. The service is good, the staffs are lovely. The price is also reasonable with the service. But there are not so many options, I hope it can be improved.

The food options seem to have gotten much worse recently. There were empty fridges, very little choice and nothing hot or even warm available. Nice cuppa, though.

Love sitting here and stressing out about coursework! 9/10 Would love it more if they sold oat milk as coconut milk is a bit rank ☺

Lots of space and a good atmosphere with a variation of seats and tables.

We didn't eat here but we had a coffee before graduation. It was pleasant enough.

Sometimes the sandwiches are reduced and you can feast like a king.

Food is okay, but remember to double check the prices and payments…. It has been second time that I paid extra money more than it’s original price…. This time I asked, but Staff said it is not refunded, just get other things for the extra payment…

Prepaid for a too good to go magic bag, arrived at the designated time and the place was closed

Funky cafe on Northumbria University campus. Lovely place to grab a coffee after wondering round n open day.

Nice food - too expensive for being on university

Bit overpriced like the campus shop which serves everything £1.50 more than the typical price. The staff are very friendly and a pleasure to meet. Would not recommend for value.

Nice atmosphere and selection of foods. If u bring your own cup u can get a filter coffee for 95p! Also if u use the yoyo app to pay u can quickly get points for a chocolate bar!! Friendly staff too.

Shame that my vegan salad with potatoes cost £1 more than the chicken/fish version.

Bring your own reusable coffee cup (with a lid), and filter coffee is 90p for a small size cup. Lots of seating but fills up in semester time, and the queue is longest on the hour when teaching sessions finish.

You always get served quickly here - a good, cheap, and busy cafe. It has outdoor seating.

Service in here is a joke. Staff just continue thier personal conversations whilst serving you and act like your not there. Coffee is also extremely average

Had Fish & Chips with mushy peas for £4.50 last Friday. They were pretty good.

Cool place. I visit for one June lunchtime a year whilst involved with Newcastle Music Services 'Big Gig' held next door at Sports Central, and have done the last four years or so. There's no problems at all when I land, however maybe due to communication issues the queue for food is mega and the service at this point ain't. However, check it out if you're in the locality and require a steady, thoroughly respectable area to work or meet clients.

Can get crowded and buzzing with people. Still manage to find space and service is quite fast. Good for a a coffee or a small bite. No heavy lunches. Comfortable seating and good place to meet-up and catch up in between lectures and other uni work. Reasonable prices too.

Great for meetings or just a quick tea/coffee

Some of the staff are friendly and helpful and coffee and food is good. However the place is let down by a few of the members of staff with abrupt and cheeky attitudes. Could understand the occasional bad day but the frequency of bad experiences has warranted this bad review. Not sure if the fact they predominantly deal with students and not the wider public has anything to do with their attitude.

A great place to relax! Cafe Central has an amazing atmosphere with a great team of people working there.
