Tey Cafe in City of London, Westminster

Great cafe significant improvement since the grumpy miserable old b.....d owner retired. Keep up the good work, lovely staff and food.

I had breakfast with my dad here and it was delicious! The food was served hot and I didn't have to wait long for food. The ingredients tasted amazing for the cost and the staff were very friendly. I would highly recommend this cafe for a full English breakfast.

Es un café. . . No es una experiencia gastronómica gourmet. . , ¿por qué no pruebas McDonalds? . o mejor aún. . . Burger King. . mucho mejor ahí eh. . jajaja

Having visited both places, I'd say you'll find a far better lunch here than the establishment across the road! Yes, it is a cafe, but its clientele are quite discerning and enjoy the spotless tables, friendly service and proper tea. We had a sandwich and a cuppa but other patrons were tucking into generous servings of the day's hot dishes. I was impressed.

The food here is great value and tasty. The breakfasts are filling and enjoyable. I would recommend a visit here.

Popped in whilst waiting for nearby jewellers to open. I just had a cup of tea & my partner had a cheese salad. The cafe was fairly busy on this Friday afternoon but service was friendly & brisk. My tea was brought up already made which I much prefer rather than having to mess about with those silly little teapots with leaky spouts & just the right shade of ‘builders’. My partner thoroughly enjoyed her cheese salad saying it was nice & fresh. The cafe & toilets were very clean & overall our brief visit was a very pleasant experience.

Lived here for 17 years and only recently visited, what a delightful little cafe! Cannot believe I hadn’t been before. Always heard good things! Quick service and cheap! Food was great

Very enjoyable breakfast. Something we don't normally do, but hubby thoroughly enjoyed, slice of toast with bubble and squeak, black pudding and poached egg with cup of tea. Just under £5 and delicious!

My colleague and I have always used this café when working in the local area,and have always been happy with the food but on our latest visit we came away hungry and disappointed.I ordered a set breakfast which was placed in front of me no sooner than I had got settled at my table this may account for the poor quality of cooking.The fried egg was crispy on the bottom but the yolk was just about cooked,the bacon and chips had no colour and the well done sausage I requested was served cut in half the meat side was black in places and there was brown grease on the plate.my colleague opted for the chicken curry,rice and chips.Again the chips had no colour the curry sauce was runny and the chicken could hardly be described as chunky.Such a shame as it is a lovely little café and the staff are friendly and polite and the service is always excellent.Hoping this was an one off incident.

With a huge abundance of Cafes in the local area, many of whom really go the extra mile and offer excellent service as well as a very decent menu, Tey cafe was dissappointing to say the least. Visiting on a Saturday morning, I would expect excellent service.....which wasnt the case. The four people who came in behind me received better service, clearly, as they were all served their food long before mine was ready....I hadnt even ordered anything exotic.....just a standard big breakfast. My server gave me an acid loom when I asked where my food was.....as the group who came in and ordered after me, left as they had finished their food....such was my wait ! Now, normally, bad service and a poor attitude can be forgiven if the food is great. Well unfortunately that wasnt the case here today. Portion size was disappointing, as were the mushrooms and the sausage. After id waited so long, to serve a luke warm sausage was inexcusable. The chips.....oven chips at that, were over cooked. Beans, overcooked so they were mushy......all in all, certainly.not worth the wait. As I opened with, in the local area there are at least a dzen cafes. Most, average but a few or really good. Brilliant service, large portions at sensible prices of really tasty, well cooked food......perhaps Tey Cafe should visit and take a lesson. As you can read, I wasnt overly impressed by Tey Cafe. Its an easy formula to be a decent greasy spoon and Tey unfortunately falls short on several points. On the plus side, theres free parking across the cafe. Must try harder !

This is a good cafe with basic home cooked food. Not fancy but good value if on a budget. Would recommend giving it a try.

Love eating in this cafe. Good selection of typical cafe food and all cooked well. Friendly staff and easy parking in the Huntsman and Hounds pub opposite if needed.

This cafe has probably been in the same location for years. Its located outside of the main town of Upminster on the road to Corbets Tey along side a small a parade of shops. Parking is therefore easier and they have a deal going where by you can park in the Pub Car park opposite if the road outside is full. It serves traditional English fare, from early am, (7am I think) as it caters for locals on their way to work and is always busy.
