Tesco Cafe in Stockton-on-Tees

Outstanding for a supermarket cafe. Tasty food, reasonable prices and very friendly staff make it a great choice (I had breakfast here on a few occasions while visiting the area). The only thing I'd recommend is having a second person behind the counter before 9 AM as it gets busy.

Once again the quality of service and food exceeds the standards set by Tesco. The staff are friendly, polite and set the standards of customer service at the highest level.

Visited this cafe and was surprised by the total lack of atmosphere expressed by normal bubbly cafe staff. Change of manager, very young inexperienced lady on the coffee machine trying to lead by example, but failing big style. The other staff members appeared dejected !!!!!, and overall confused by the limitations placed on customer service. Tesco management need to identify the issues and correct before good long term paying customers exit across to the road to the competition.

Brilliant atmosphere with the added bonus of cheerful, polite and respectful staff and a good choice of food and drinks.

Very good resting spot before shopping. The lady doing the meals was very helpful and friendly and I complimented the sourdough toast and she went out of her way to were I could get it from in the store

Staff are always friendly couldn’t make us more welcome make us laugh. Coffee and tea taste great and cheaper than most places have breakfast on Saturday morning when we have finished shopping great place to eat or just have a drink.

Spot on service, lovely staff, Lianne, Lynn, Michael and Carol, great team, lovely food and a good range of choice.

Just dropped into the cafe in Tesco my grandson got a panini the worst ever and the prices are a rip off. First time and last

This is my third review here for this adorable cafe..me and my husband have came back from staying with family in America for awhile. As soon as we came in,Lynn cleaning away greeted me and my husband with the most beautiful hello ,asked how america was and remembered what we always have ..that alone is great customer service. And makes you feel special.. we sit with friends who we meet coming in here for a good catch.. what more can you ask for if the coffee and sandwiches are lovely. Place clean and you have staff like Lynn..please give this cafe a go. You won't be disappointed......

Today ordered two bacon and sausage sandwiches and paid extra for more bacon and sausage and a flat white through Uber , I received one sausage double sandwich and one normal bacon and sausage sandwich the bacon was very fatty , the were very nicely wrapped but the sandwich baps were in a bit of a state , Uber service was very good though, but will not be buying again the Oder would of cost over £15.00 but the offer from Uber made it £5.83

I can not praise this cafe enough. Their coffee and sandwiches are lovely...what makes it when myself and husband comes in are two lovely charming staff. Micheal and Lynn...always a hello and asks how we are.....the place is clean and tidy and more important now days covid clean..

This Tesco cafe is the best I have been to. Small but that does not matter .it's clean and tidy makes me feel at ease with covid.. one member has stud out with me and my husband and I know other people who we have got to know with popping in the cafe agree. Is a lady called Lynn....she is a charming lady and friendly. Always cheerful...she none stops clean . A reason a few still come here because of Lynn....thank you

Most of staff are ok (including the guy Micheal Harrington, who is giving himself a five star review on this very forum!!) apart from the very miserable pony tailed girl, who never smiles and always shouts at rest of staff.

I have been visiting this branch of Tesco for around year and a half, every week, as well as the shopping, I always use the cafe. In all my time of use I have observed one particular female staff member who appears to hate her job, I have never once seen her smile and have observed her on quite a few occasions be short, very vocal and negative with other members of staff and also with customers. Most of the other staff are courteous and happy when she is not working. I asked the other girl if the bread was white or brown, she said it’s not white or brown it’s multi seeded??? I didn’t want to start getting pedantic and trying to educate her on the differences and pointing out her ignorance so I just said can I have my order on brown bread please, (I have done this many times in the past with other staff and in many other places, Morrison’s for example, and it has never been an issue and nor should it be as I’m the one who is paying for it! The elder barked a command to her minion to tell me that next time I order I will not be able to change the bread, she vicariously told me off like I was a child in front of other customers. Well Tesco if this is the type of staff you want representing your store at front of house then you do not care about offending your customers. You need to observe or get honest feedback from other staff as to this women’s performance and don’t just take my word for it

Absolutely awful, food and staff

Since the staff change in the cafe it has dropped dramatically in customer service care. I was served by what I can only describe as a miserable young girl who served my pot of tea in a slap dash manner, not even on a tray as it ordinarily is served. I had to tray it up myself, the pot was half empty and I wasn't given a tea spoon which again you are ordinarily given. The service is absolutely appalling, the tables weren't being emptied or clean and she certainly wasn't busy. I'm a regular customer and I will not be coming back.

Nice breakfast...try bacon sandwich

Just finished shopping and wanted to have a rest so called in to Cafe. I had omelette with a big mushroom. Could've had beans. Omelette was light and fluffy and very tasty, as too was the mushroom. Washed down with a nice cup of tea. Well worth a visit.
