Great little cafe for popping in for a drink and a cake….i like the fact the breakfast menu is available all day. The toasties here are top notch. What I like about here is the staff the ladies at the front are always so welcoming and the floor staff go out of there way to help in anyway they can. Extremely busy on college days but a queue won’t put me off as it always moves quickly I think some people forget a busy cafe and a queue shows how popular places are

Painfully slow service at 0930. I was 7th in the queue and 5 minutes later I was 4th. Sadly, they readily allow "headphones dodging". Two people with phones on loud speaker meant there was no peace in which to enjoy a coffee, so I left the queue and went elsewhere. When you don't have to queue too long and when away from headphone dodgers, it's a nice cafe that serves great coffee. So I visit under these circumstances.

I ordered a ham and cheese panini for £4.50 , there was no cheese, and just a slice of ham folded in half. Aswell as this, when i asked for a refund, the workers were very half arsed about it and seemed to not care. After my refund i got a breakfast bap with scrambled egg on the side for £6.75, in the breakfast bap was a lot of grease in a puddle ontop of cold bacon. Aswell as this my scrambled egg had atleast a shot of water come out.

Chips came out cold appear to been sitting out fir a long time. Replacement chips came out hot but only 6 chunky chips in the bowl. Fried breakfast. Poor quality of product. Egg white raw and toast cold and burnt

While I want to say this is good value for money, (& it would be if the food was not lukewarm) I have found that the last 4 times visitingchere, the 'hot' food arrives lukewarm at best. I have reported it on occasion and the response was to reheat. I have sat watching our food, sat on the serving hatch for minutes before it is delivered to us. So sad, as this would be excellent value if the food was served correctly

Cannot fault it. Supermarket cafe serving really good coffee and tasty food. The waffles with bacon and maple were lovely with a generous amount of syrup. Reasonably priced too. If this review was helpful please give it a like below.

Visited last month and all three of us got food poisoning. Contacted tesco to inform them, spoke the store manager and wasn’t even offered a refund for the food that made us ill and have to take time off work. Will never visit a Tesco cafe again.

Bad food. I had the vegetarian breakfast a few weeks ago. The hash brown was oily, the egg was solid, and the decaf coffee beans were burned. I tried it again today and had goats cheese and onion panini with chips and the panini tasted like it had been cooked in a microwave and the chips were still uncooked in the middle.

Yeah it's Tesco, but the food is good, the service is good and the prices are good. 10x better than its sister cafe at Clifton Moor.

Very disappointed. But I suppose you get what you pay for. I would be happy to pay a bit more if that was reflected in the quality.

It’s brilliant! They charge similar to a fast food place yet the food tastes very fresh and good quality. Would definitely recommend and it would be good to see more of these popping up in cities and places as it’s really good quality food. My personal favourite so far is the souther fried chicken rap for lunch (that’s in the image) but I also want to try the Halloumi muffin for breakfast. The staff are really friendly and uplifting as well which is a great bonus. :)

Shocking, just had Eggs benedict. Toasted muffins, cold ham, 2 boiled eggs and what can only be described as salad cream with a squirt of lemon juice. Certainly wasn’t hollandaise sauce. Really poor.

The food here is really good for a supermarket cafe, cheaper than most restaurants too. The service is also really quick. We've eaten here for breakfast and lunch. All good. The only thing to avoid is the sausages, they're a bit cheap and taste full of cereals. I recommend the eggs royale, a beautiful, light and healthier breakfast.

All of it was amazing, people who give it 3.5 and below are weird nd don't know what top quality food is. The service, staff and food is excellent. Would definitely recommend this to people in that area.

This has to be the worst place for world not only in York but the UK. How they get away with it is anyone's guess. I bought a stake pie meal and firstly was told I couldn't have chips as it only comes with mash. So let's start there shall we. Question people how do you make mash? Do you empty a packet of cheap Tescos value instant mash and add water? Well that's what happened here. Then we move on to the stake pie. Sorry I mean mushroom and onion with 2 x 1/2 inch cubes of I must say very nice meat. But it only gets worse. The pastry, if you can call it that. Was more like a flour and water, dough mess. I sent first one back for not being cooked and give up hope with the 2nd. The peas were ok for frozen ones. On a good side the gravy was nice. So how much do you think this mess cost me? A premium price of £6.50! I knew it was over priced to start with so expected something nice. You would probably be better getting a cheap ready meal for £2 at Tescos then asking them to cook it. It would be so much nicer.

A lone sign ‘50% off’ was displayed outside. Yet the shop looks as dead as a doornail. I Walk through the door into the dark takeaway, no menu to be seen and shout ‘hello?’. A man appears from the depths and reads me a menu from a lone, stained leaflet. I order a chicken, donner meat and pepperoni pizza on a tomato base. Expecting a fast handover as the place looked like it hadn’t seen an order in decades. 40 minutes later I’m sat outside and I finally hear a quiet, lone female voice call out ‘Pizza is ready’. I slowly approach the door to investigate and a pizza is handed to me. However that pizza was warmed I’ll never know. Whether it was with a hairdryer, radiator or a warm breeze on a summers morning I’ll never know. I opened the box with hope of a nice pizza awaiting me. However, I tucked in and it wasn’t right. I can’t quite put my finger on whatever was wrong with that pizza and I guess I never will. The donner meat was crushable, so burnt I could reduce it to a fine powder with a light squash and watch it flutter away into the abyss. The cheese was flavourless and stringy, what type I’ll never be quite sure. The chicken was in minuscule chunks and a 4th mystery meat presented itself atop the soft base. To top it off on my last bite of said pizza I pulled a long black hair from the crust. The rest was quickly discarded into the bin and I can’t say I’d visit again. Memorable in a bad way. Wouldn’t recommend.

Great old fashioned local pub, decent beers, good food and a warm welcome. Enjoyed a couple of pints of the special Timothy Taylor Landlord Dark which was an added treat. We ate fish and chips & a giant Yorkshire with 3 Cumberland sausages, roasties, veg and gravy. All freshly cooked and spot on. I wouldn't hesitate to revisit when back in York.

Really not impressed, coming down at 4.45 , 15 minutes left open, and staff had put all food away and refused to do any hot food. All snacks and cold food were covered up too, had to ask to remove the covers. It's the only place for patients to go with decent hot food, so disappointed. I was taking out too
