Tesco Cafe in Dumfries & Galloway

This used to be a great place for lunch. Its all self service now with regards to ordering and the menu choices were awkward to work out, too many add ons at additional costs that weren't there before. I don't know why but the noise levels in the eating area seem far greater than the old layout, , its a really noisy environment and the staff seem stressed and were not their usual happy selves. The drinks served long before the meal,which meant our hot beverage was cold before the meal finished. I won't be back. I would rather go elsewhere now. The staff were nice.

Very poor, initially went to til to ask if I could modify a chicken burger so it came with no salad. That wasn't allowed, no custom orders are. So I ordered a ham and cheese panini for £4.50 had less than one slice of ham and hardly any cheese, dry as a bone! See image. Won't be returning

My wife and I called in to the cafe this morning prior to shopping for breakfast, my wife ordered the Vegetarian breakfast and I the standard breakfast, even though there was very few people in the cafe we had to wait 20 mins for our food, when it arrived the beans had a skin on and the whole thing was cold, my wife’s Vegie sausage appeared not to be cooked and like mine the rest of the meal was cold. We complained about it and thankfully we were given a full refund, 👎🏻

Dreadful food. Refunds given to 3 out of the 4 of us there for lunch today 4th Dec. The food looked like slop out of the bottom of an old bin. The waitresses were embarrassed and promptly sorted out refunds for my three friends. I had only ordered some chips and a drink so was served first as the others had ordered meals. I had almost finished picking through the chips (they were hard in the middle) when the first meal arrived 'festive Macaroni cheese' which turned out to be white slop with lumps in it topped by 3 chipolatas wrapped in some bacon fat which looked uncooked and more like raw bacon fat which the bacon had escaped from... It was hideous and so began the request for a refund. We got that sorted and left for Morrisons where everyone had a love meal. I was so disappointed in Tesco. I have always shopped with them and this was a real let down. It is bad enough you have to order with touch screens - that was annoying. Then as we sat down some woman who was obviously an 'in charge' sort of person grabbed some seasonal decorations and went off to have a moan at the staff in the kitchen hatch managing to knock over a box and some stuff as she did so which she then kicked. Honestly not a jolly place at all...then horrid food tsk!

Surprised as staff not their usual helpful selves . Must have what’s on screen ! Unhygienic screen ! So many people touch it ! Wipes !! Must have exactly on screen . Asked and was refused hot milk on side as couldn’t see where to order and had to have the eggs on the buttered toast ! Don’t take butter to that extent . So disappointed. Used to be a great place . Floor not user friendly for sight impaired people at top of stairs

This is hands down the best breakfast in dumfries 95% of the time

Delivery was missing items, ordered a lemon and blueberry Bakewell which wasn’t delivered. Nor did part of my cooked breakfast.

Never once had a bad experience here. The place is kept immaculate and the staff are wonderful! I come here to get lunch and study for a while and the atmosphere is great. Definitely a favourite spot, food is always fresh, affordable, tables and floors always clean and love that they have charging points and free wifi. 10/10 would recommend

Baked potato was as hard as rock skin inedible. Presentation was poor with a handful of salad leaves on the side. I was hungry so ate the inside of the potato but it was very dry and hard Service was good, drinks arrived on time

Honestly could be the best coffee in Dumfries! Food and drinks all prepared rapidly and so tasty! Staff are friendly and conversational and proactive as cafe is very clean and tidy tables cleared rapidly!

Not the easiest access for a wheelchair user, as it's situated up steep stairs - thankfully there's a lift, but it's tricky to negotiate. Some aspects of the café need better thinking out for being made disabled-friendly for example things that are out of reach or difficult to get to. Staff friendly and helpful, very pleasant and courteous. The overall atmosphere was a little lacking in energy, though, and the place felt "tired", but maybe it was just me!?

The food was pretty good. Was two minutes late, but that is no bother. It is a Saturday after all. Busy traffic.

Ordered the egg and bacon brioche, it was luke warm, no heat in the roll to melt the cheese, which was a processed cheese square, costing £4.20 I expected a more quality breakfast. My friend's food was left sitting on the shelf, and walked passed 2 times, she had to go up and ask for the food.

Very good food,few mins late justified as rood fair about to start at whitesands .. worth the wait gf enjoyed her meal to 10/10 thanks again..

Enjoyable hot breakfasts, does what it says on the tin, ordered again

We have had a few deliveries now and the food is tasty and delivery quick. My boyfriend gets the breakfast and I get the waffles and both are warm on arrival perhaps a bit colder than you would get in the cage but this is to be expected. We have not had any problems with missing items either.

Not even worth ordering… order came freezing and missing stuff… absolute joke not even worth the the 1 star

Gaaaad! Breakfast was terrible! Egg was like rubber, beans were horrid. Meat tasted cheap and overcooked. Never again!

A wonderful light lunch before picking up groceries. The Southern Fried Chicken Wrap was fresh and tasty, the staff were friendly and the cafe was very clean and open. A+ Well done team!

Very nice staff helpful and friendly. Ordered our Jacket Potatoes paid for food and went to sit at a table overlooking the shop. Bright and airy. Toilets were nice and clean.

This was our 6th trip to Scotland and my son and I eat here everyday the same thing FISH n CHIPS fish melts in your mouth flavorful and light crispy batter w/ green peas, cheap too!

Tesco café generally now serve food with new names to hide the fact they now fill their original menu with cheap filler ingredients, tuna mayo, is now tuna crunch eg. What this means is 50% spring onion, hardly any tuna or mayo and a slightly higher price. Tesco gives you more..... BS that is.
