Tesco Cafe in Havering

Do not go here if you are on your work lunch break as they take a VERY long time to serve your meal. It took almost 30 minutes just to prepare a burger and fries! The place is usually full of screaming children too and the food is very very basic for the extortionate prices. I'm surprised that this is the quality of a Tesco cafe, I've only been here once before and both times my experience has been the same.

Visited today, staff have no idea what constitutes busy in a restaurant. Place was by no means full, we were quoted 15 mins for a breakfast and a toastie. 30 minutes later it turned up, breakfast was fine, however the toastie was only toasted on one side and I had to send out a search party to find the cheese!! Sent it back and was told we will make another straight away..... 10 minutes later I am still waiting!!!!

Wanted a breakfast and drinks, although a man greeted me happily as I entered the Cafe area, the cashier serving was busy talking to a gentleman, waited a bit, did she not even acknowledge me. waited a bit more, but the chat continued.. so I left, as obvously the talk is more important than even saying Hi, won't keep you a moment or similar.. Went to the Costa right next to it.. custom lost by Tesco.. A personal choice I guess on how to interact with customers..

Please avoid this place, poor quality of the food escorts with a big price.

The standard of this place really isn't good enough. From ordering to serving is beyond slow. I had smashed avocado on sourdough with a poached egg. It was absolutely tasteless and the egg was more like a boiled egg than poached - rock hard yolk! Plus, people who came after me were served before me. Someone should do a secret shopper on this venue. Definitely no organisation or cooking skills on show here.

Lovely breakfast, lovely staff. Excellent produce with good prices. Nice weekend treat.

Went for lunch with my daughter on Tuesday. Wanted fish and chips ( no fish apparently) had a chicken wrap instead hardly any salad and chicken was burnt. All staff looked SO miserable never again.

Should serve food till closer to closing I've visited 2hrs at least before closing and they don't serve it. Joke mate.

Literally the worst customer service that I've ever experienced! In the short space of time that I was there I witnessed the older members of staff (Sam? Sammy?) bullying a younger Italian girl almost to the point of tears, and then laughing about it afterwards. The food that I ordered was badly cooked (undercooked, snotty egg, practically raw tomato, sausage black on one side and almost raw on the other) and honestly looked like it was thrown on the plate from across the room. Then when each customer was leaving, they always had a nasty comment about them amongst themselves, like: "That was definitely a wig", and "there's no way he should be on benefits, he looks fitter than I am" and "it doesn't matter how much make up you plaster on when you're that ugly". All of this at a volume that everyone in there could hear, so they obviously don't care or think that they're untouchable. That, combined with the constant, loud cackling and shouting from behind the counter was enough to put anyone off. When I made eye contact with the person behind the counter in Costa next door, she gave me a sympathetic look and just shrugged her shoulders, which I guess you would if you had to listen to that all day long. All in all, it really was a very, very poor and almost unbelievable experience, and I certainly won't be returning.

One member of staff, tall with alburn hair piled up, chooses when to stop serving hot food. Then to stop serving altogether. This varies between 3pm and 4pm. Although the internet closing time is 5pm and Costa, whom Tesco are losing all there diners to, says 6pm. When I asked during talking, how the customer supposed to know the closing time, the tall auburn member, turns around and snaps, "What did you say?" Although she was close enough to hear. This is the last time I'm using this cafe. Apparently, times are always being shortened. I won't say who told me, but they'd know.

Horrendous staff and service - avoid at all costs. Especially SAM who served us off milked coffee shouting there is nothing wrong with it it and laughing with her staff. The Manager however was very helpful, reported to complaints department. This doesn’t even deserve 1 star

Shocking to say I loved this place and would next time bring the family for breakfast or lunch, didn't think of having breakfast here.

Ate here Friday midday. Had steak pie and mash, promptly served and piping hot. Wife had cheese bacon burger with chips. Again prompt and hot. Very nice. Only negative, no fish available.

Had to wait 15min burger and chips took more 25min waiting when arrived onion rings so over cooked u could knock someone out with em and they forgot put bacon in burger said something then got few slices of bacon on a saucer omg bacon was over cooked so dry overall disgusted with food def would not eat there again

Very busy more staff needed, Breakfast not the best but oaky.

Use if in caffeine desperation, otherwise holdout for a better café (not another Costa)

I am a senior supervisor with a specialist removal company While we were waiting to attend site I took my crew ( 8 guy's) for breakfast at Tesco's gallows corner It started off as a bit of a dismal experience until we met a lady called Carol who we had a good experience with She looked after me and my crew and we went to our task happy People are so often ready to complain but not us Carol did a fantastic job Thank you

My god what a disaster 🤣 2 young girls, stressed up to the eyeballs, everything people are asking for they don't have. Laughing at customers who are trying to make their minds up again of what they want. My panini was burnt, my son's toastie turned up 10minutes after ours did because she FORGOT 🙈 oh and my Dad's Chicken and Bacon toastie had no bacon...?!? Complete shambles and by the looks of the rest of the reviews I think Sainsbury's you need to sort it the hell out!!!!!!!!

10.30 Saturday morning looking forward to breakfast, scrambled egg microwaved too long like rubber, sausage not cooked, bacon and beans cold, not a good start to day.

Triple cooked chips? Not by choice. Overcooked sausage raw half eaten bacon and garlic bread only cooked on 1 side!!! Best improve rainham Tesco the cafè better.
