Often pop in here for convenience, although today we were served very abruptly & rude by a male member of staff who just kept saying "I" after everything we ordered, was dismissive when i asked where i scan my clubcard, then pointed to my drink further along the counter as thought telling me to move along...! guess he wasn't in the mood to talk to people, very very poor customer service, then if that wasn't enough he had only given me one of the 3 drinks I'd ordered anyway, which another lovely polite young lady brought for me with an apology, maybe the chap would be better located behind the scenes rather than front of house serving...😤

Got a jacket potato with tuna mayo and spring onions. Was cold and dry with no seasoning and barely any mayo, also got a breakfast, the breakfast was okay but my egg was partially raw, probably won’t be back

I usually pop in here after doing a spot of food shopping and clothes shopping. It’s a lovely little cafe. The food is fresh and delicious and piping hot aswell as being very affordable. There’s always a lot of people in so there can be queues and the girls are run off their feet but they’re mostly friendly and efficient. It’s nice and clean and a pleasant environment and I have enjoyed if every time without fail. The only thing that lets it down is the air con ad after sitting a while it can get chilly but as they need it on for the store and groceries below it’s a difficult one as it’s all open plan. Don’t let it put you off though, I always take a cardigan now as it doesn’t bother me to that extent. Overall I’d say great little cafe, give it a go, you might be pleasantly surprised

ordered a bacon and egg bun late afternoon after shopping. Thought that was pretty straight forward, big mistake. Absolutely horrible, egg unrecognisable, bacon greasy and half cooked and some dirty brown sludge on the bun - not sauce. Revolting and would have taken it back but I am in a wheelchair so too much trouble. Surprisingly the cappuccino is very good.

Decent breakfast, would have liked some Tomato instead of two hash browns but a minor detail. Very good Cappuccino. Not exactly service with a smile except for one blonde girl who was lovely to elderly customers but they were working hard. Six staff that I could see so tables were clear and clean. Great little stop off for Newton Aycliffe - well done Tesco.

Someone has decided its a good idea to stop shelf stacking during the night and have stackers trying to fill shelves while people are shopping. The result is shelves are never full and often empty the floor and walkways covered with rubbish and boxes and trolleys poor staff having to constantly move out of the way of their job while people try and do shopping

Had two lovely meals here, the first was fish n chips which came with a choice of either mushy or garden peas. The fish was cooked to perfection, lovely crispy batter and the fish melted in the mouth, the chips were also nice and lovely and hot, it was served with tartare sauce and a slice of lemon, the service was quick and it excellent value. I’ve been twice and had a ham n cheese toastie the second time which was in crusty bread, absolutely delicious, as was the latte. I was very impressed and will definitely be going back. Well done to all the servers and kitchen staff who were all friendly even though rushed off their feet. Great service 👏👏👏

called for breakfast, said no beans, got beans, bacon undercooked, sausage cheap greasy and awful, egg over cooked. Not pleasant and if I go again will stick to a toasted teacake.

Came in here today for coffee with a friend, she had a hot chocolate I had a americano. I did Apple Pay but the first time it went through as I got notified on my phone but the snotty lady behind the till said it hadn’t so I showed her on my banking app but she still made me pay again! Really poor service considering I even showed her the transaction on my mobile banking yet she made me pay again. Complete rip off will not be back as two drinks cost £12. Simply not worth it!

Awful breakfast egg looked like it had been fried in dirty oil as it had little black bits on it. My hash brown had green bits on it which I didn't eat and looked like bots of a scouring pad. Also had a Luke warm latte to wash it down. Marks out of 10 are a Zero.... Over priced small portion left me feeling like I wanted to vomit.

Visited first time after lock down (I believe it’s opened under new management) on a Saturday afternoon. Booked a table for food and glad we did as it was very busy. The service was slow but this was mentioned on our arrival as they were under staffed and didn’t predict how busy it would be. However, the atmosphere was fab (lively, sport on the TV and a range of music was been played) and at the time we hardly noticed the wait between drinks and food! We ordered three different meals (Yorkshire Pudding, Cheeseburger and chicken and cheese baguette) portions were huge (for £6.95 each) and delicious. Lager and cider were reasonably prices too. Hopefully the place gets a well needed refurb under new management as it is the only negative - but I appreciate the pub has just recently reopened and Rome wasn’t built in a day! We’ll definitely be back.

This was a really nice place to pop in for lunch or tea, but unfortunately something has changed. They've obviously spent a lot of money on doing the old place up and to be honest it's very nice and they've done a really good job. Unfortunately that's it because we all found the food to be very mediocre and bland. Service was really slow and it was almost an hour before we received our food. I had a mixed grill (£20) which was so bland , there was just no taste whatsoever in fact the chicken, steak and gammon all tasted the same, just bland unseasoned meat. Son had sea bass (£18.25) and it was terrible, dry and bland again and to be honest it looked terrible to. Mrs had belly pork that was tough like rubber and my mam had steak pie with concrete pastry, she literally could not eat it and left it. We told them it was inedible but they weren't interested and said they would tell the chef. Reading through some of the reviews on here were not the first to have a concrete crust on the pie. This just tells me they don't seem to care as long as people keep eating there. This is the third time we've been disappointed here so we won't be returning. Maybe we're just unlucky but after talking to other people it seems we're not.

Have gone there since it opened, used to be very good in all respects however in past few months it has certainly gone down market. Coffees pretty poor and often cold, staff are fair but the place is dirty with cobwebs and dust everywhere. Requires some sort of screen on front windows as sun shade.
