Tesco in Milton Keynes

New “not improved” industrialised cafe was not pleasant to visit. Have kept friendly staff but food is poor vs old cafe. Cannot for example ask kitchen for crispy bacon. Gone is the friendly and comfortable atmosphere of old cafe.

We popped here for some lunch with our children. It was our first time visiting since the cafe had moved location and moved to the self service ordering system. We ordered our food at 12:00 and by 13:15 the food still had not arrived. There were many other people in the same situation. When we ask the staff members we kept being told ‘yours is next, 5 more minutes’. After another half an hour of this, we were finally told that that there were still 6 more orders in front of us. Ridiculous wait for basic food such as sandwiches. Children were very hungry and tired of waiting by this point. We eventually got a refund but the manager didn’t seem to really care, didn’t apologised and shrugged it off as being short staffed. I then continued to hear them lie to other customers ordering their food and telling them the wait was only 20 minutes. Wont be back that’s for sure!

Food took an hour to arrive. Cafe was not that busy even for a Saturday. At least half the tables were empty. Clearly, must have been understaffed

Excellent breakfast served. Service was fantastic and the food was nice and warm. The lady on the til who served us was very professional too. Really can’t fault this place.

Ordered £34 of food and it was disgusting order was wrong 3 ultimate breakfast baps and got 3 bacon sandwiches avoid like the plague

Many years ago, I swore I'd not return as the experience was so poor. However, today I was passing, there were only 8 customers in the cafe and I persuaded myself the place must have improved. Wrong! was it the environment, with the floor covered in food scraps and pieces of paper? was it the staff, all of whom looked as if they'd just lost a close relative? Or was it the food, made of the cheapest ingredients and (after a 15 minute wait) served cold? I struggled to find one redeeming feature here, and then gave up. There was none. Truly shocking for this day and age, and there'll be no third chance.

Got hot drinks. Waited 45minutes for cooked breakfast. It was cold. People came and went after we had sat down. When food arrived we asked if there was a problem but young lady could not answer and just shrugged her shoulders and walked off. As we finished coffee half an hour before we had to buy another drink. Definitely will no be going back again. Food not worth waiting for, service awful.

Disgusted to find this piece of plastic in my chilli today at The Cafe opposite Tesco at the Kingston Retail centre.. Almost swallowed it as it was in mouth before I realised it! Manageress didn't seem surprised and just casually appoligised saying "it was just a piece of packaging that the Chilli comes in.." and gave me a refund..To make it worse just under 2 hours later I was physically sick..There's obviously a major problem in their kitchen and I will be passing this onto the Environmental Health & Hygiene Department... She gave me the manager's telephone number which I left a message for.. It's now 5pm and sadly no response..

I was hoping for bangers 'n' mash but there wasn't enough mash so I was offered sausages, chips and beans as an alternative. This was an acceptable substitute; the sausages were on the small side but the chips were very good. The beans, of course, were beans! Staff very friendly, attentive and patient.

We stopped here for breakfast and I had the Eggs Benedict (£5) and my partner had a small breakfast (£4.60), the portions were a good size and the food tasted fresh. I couldn't give this review full marks as I agree with a former reviewer that the main till service was very slow - we waited ages before anyone acknowledged us, and there was only 1 customer in front of us. You always know what to expect in a Tesco cafe, and we were disappointed.

Contrary to many reviews, my visit (bearing in mind the title) was ok. Service at the till was as fast as the 3 customers in front of me allowed as their messing around with their order and payment arrangement was causing concern to the cashier. Food was delivered pretty quickly and was good quality. Plenty of beans, half grilled tomato, 2 rashers of delicious bacon, small fried egg, small pork sausage and a full round of crispy fried bread. Pot of tea to complete the order and excellent value at £5.80. If I wanted to complain, the only issue was the large number of tables uncleared and trolley lockers without keys. Otherwise a pleasant surprise.

I had a "The breakfast" and my child had a kids breakfast. The toast was soggy and the bacon like a leather strip. The fried egg, scrambled egg and sausage were fine. The coffee was like dish water. Overall poor, which is a real shame.

So decided to treat myself to a good old English fry up breakfast/brunch as the wife was away... like the idea of the food cooked to order rather than sitting under heated lights/plates. however as its now a set breakfast i asked to swap out the Hash Browns which i detest and add in Black pudding, to be told curtly, "we only swap veg for veg and meat for meat... when i tried to challenge this i was told well its policy so thats that.. I went through to Tesco customer services to complain and had to wait a week before i got a half hearted apology and when i asked for an explanation to the swap policy, did not get any response. I actually warned Tesco of my intention to pass on the bad service i received unless they could satisfy my queries and still nothing apart from heads of department have been informed. I will not be going back to this cafe, the staff within or at least the staff on the day i entered need some urgent customer service training.

Probably the worst food you could ever order. Better off eating out of a bin. Really, really poor. Don't go there

Ideal to pop into here after a shopping session. Really clean and reasonable prices. We just had a coffee and cake but we could see others enjoying what looked like tasty meals. Comfortable chairs were also available.

If you are in need to coffee this is perfect. Do your shopping and have a cup of coffee on the go, nothing better than that. The food is also good if you chose to sit down.

Tesco's is in walking distance from my house, and I go here a lot, most weekends in fact. The fact you can buy food and drinks (which lets be honest, is all a teenager needs) means it is an ideal place to go, followed by one of the cafe's or shopping in the variety of shops in Kingston. Love it, especially the World Food Aisle, which is the best in my opinion.
