Sunday lunch was very good..carvery meat selection was good with a huge selection of vegetables to suit everyone's taste..

First visit to Ten Tors since we moved to Kingsteignton and definitely enjoyed the experience. From the friendly staff to the excellent food this place deserves 5 stars. Will be returning again very soon.

It's OK. Food is good but nothing special. Service was good. Run of the mill pub grub/carvery. Clean and tidy. Can get busy. Over 55 deal on menu but they didn't have the desert, so no deal to be had. Bit embarrassing on their part.

A well organised place to eat, the staff were friendly and helpful and the carvery is the best around. This was my third visit and is now my go place for food. 10/10 all round. Weldone everyone.

I had a problem with a specific request I made when ordering the food that wasn't listened to, but it was soon rectified, and the restaurant manager went above and beyond to make sure I was looked after.

Firstly got placed on the worst table in the place with a slanted table with sunlight in all of our eyes with no other option. Food was awful for the price especially considering I had more fat on my steak than meat. My girlfriend had to wait until her food got cold until they bought out the vegetarian gravy, and then got told there was no vegan puddings on offer but had to pay for one anyway because it was set menu which is just stupid and a scam. The toilets were filthy with a hole in one of the doors with dirty toilet paper stuffed into it. Then to top off the whole experience plenty of rude staff around who don’t have any manners not even an excuse me just barge past you while you have food or while collecting plates just sticking their hands over your head. Did not get asked once how my food was or how my experience was. Overall awful experience and feel like I was scammed out of about £50 worst meal I’ve had maybe ever will definitely not ever be coming again and I would strongly recommend avoiding this place at all costs. I have never left a review before but my experience here was so bad I had to leave a review to make sure other people don’t waste their time and money here

The food here is serious. You will not leave here hungry. Really pleasant atmosphere. Staff were super friendly and professional. Food was top notch. Highly recommended.

The staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. We had mushrooms in blue cheese sauce to start and it was the best starter I've ever had, the flavour was amazing! I'd go back just for that! My husband had Hunters chicken (and a huge one at that) and he said it was the best one he'd ever had. I had a beef burger which was also lovely. We had been looking online for a place that was open as it was our anniversary (46 years) and we found Ten Tors and were very glad we picked that restaurant. They also do a carvery which also looked delicious, so we might try that next time. But the highlight for me was the mushroom starter!

Lots of parking, lots of space inside and got a table pretty quickly. Lots of options on the food but thought it was a bit over the top with butter and cheese. Quite pricy for the area.

I couldn't fault anything, lovely food ,the waitresses were lovely ,I could see thay were short staffed but didn't effect the food or service. Would definitely recommend

We wanted a roast but were too late, the young chap serving us was very nice seemed like he was new. We had starters and shared, my Grandson is 3 and eats a table spoon of food but if he was to have roast it was expensive, so pasta was the way to go. He had 3 bits of pasta and decided he’d had enough, we all had steak pie very burnt and pastry incredibly hard, chips were nice. We were not offered sweet, and the table wasn’t cleared as we didn’t see anyone after it was served. The chef cleared up the roast clanging loud enough for customers to comment. We waited for service as we wanted sweet, but none came. I went to the bar to pay, shame that the staff appeared fed up . So £116 later we left. Shame really. I want bubbly helpful Attentive staff, thats what all businesses want surely, they need them to sell sides, sweets, coffee etc. hope it perks up.

This is the second time coming first was very good service staff food all very good second time food atmosphere great but the older person serving the carvery was quite rude and very cross shame because all other staff very pleasant maybe he was having a bad day would of been better in the kitchen away from customers xx

The food was outstanding. The service was satisfactory. However, we were asked to make a decision about the drink within a short period of time, and were asked three times about the drinks from different staff members when we asked to be given a moment. Additionally, we were seated at a table by the family entrance with three adults, three children, and a five-month-old baby. Consequently, when the door opened for customers to enter and exit, the cold draft was introduced. Also when asked for desert ie chocolate fudge it wasn't warm . Also asked for it with custard but came with ice cream and custard separate.

We ordered 3 drink at the bar… simple order and it still came back wrong. Atmosphere was okay but staff seem incapable. Shame, used to love this place

Came for new yrs day carvery, very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent and really enjoyed our carvery. Would def go there again.

Popped in on Monday afternoon service was good as usually is the over 55's meal deal was recommended for my friend and was incredibly good value for money the chicken fried burger was delicious..The only slight down fall was the constant banging of the office door where management kept going in and out of, maybe something you could look in to preventing.

I went to The Ten Tors for New Year's Eve back in 2019 and 2021, and went recently on Tuesday 31st December 2024. this was when i travelled from Exmouth via the '57' bus with a transfer in Exmouth for the '7' bus to Kingsteignton. This year, I went with three of my friends, enjoyed the buffet and the dancing with other people at the "Mafia 4" band, but was disappointed that the fireworks had been cancelled at the last moment due to the High Winds warning, but however, I did see the fireworks at New Year's Eve night in 2019 and 2021.

Enjoyed the meal. A decent carvery.

Last minute decision to stop on the way home on a Sunday lunch and they managed to squeeze 4 in. Great food as always and excellent service. Thanks very much

After visiting Ten Tors today I can safely say we will not be returning. They are in desperate need of some customer service training. Stood waiting to be seated and 4 members of staff walked past, not one acknowledged us to let us know someone would be with us soon so I went to the bar to let them know we had arrived, told to go back & wait, by this point there was a queue & we had lost our place, when we finally got spoken to, the table wasn’t ready and told this would take 5 minutes, not a problem for us but there were plenty of tables around ready made up. Regardless we went to the bar to get drinks and then the man who came over to tell us the table was now ready said, follow me to your table and someone will take your drinks order (we were stood with our drinks!) the staff just seem uninterested apart from one young lad who was polite. The carvery & food was great, but the experience and unfriendliness is not for us. I took my little boy out to the car whilst my husband stood at the bar to pay, the waitress with the over the top lip liner then shouted out to another staff member that our table had not paid in front of my husband. It’s a shame as the food was good & it could be a great pub. Maybe the regulars & locals get treated better?!

5 off us came for Christmas dinner . When we booked we were informed would be a table service , we pre ordered our meals . On arrival were seated quickly , waited for drink order for some time. There was no arrival drink or canapés. We all had ham hock terrine which turned out to be corned beef. We then queued for a carvery, had we known this we wouldn't have booked as 3 guests were disabled. The veg was not cooked , except the sweed. Gravy thin , transpired it was vegan. The desserts didn't get much better. No mince pies were served , we had to ask for coffee twice. This was served with latte spoons! And coffee drips all down the,sides . The cheese table looked lovely but nothing was covered , individual cheese boards per table should have been used. Overall a very disappointing meal. To add insult we were initially charged for another tables drinks. Was clear staff had had enough and didn't want people there. As regular Sunday visitors we have all declared we will not be back.

Nice pub/ restaurant, I ordered the scampi, it was lovely, friendly service but a bit slow, would recommend and would go there again 😁

We had a family Christmas meet up today Sunday 22/12/24 for a carvery which was really poor the meat was tender but the vegetables were soggy and tasteless! Like frozen vegetables sprouts were bitter and horrible being a local for us and spent £87 very very upset.

Travelled down from Somerset to meet family and the veg was horrible!. Tasteless just like frozen vegetables. Having paid £87.00 for our meat, and gravy we were very disappointed. Having eaten here for many years with the carvery being delicious, until tonight 🤢

Great atmosphere. I am not a vegetarian but do enjoy a nut roast. This was a mistake here as it was inedible. I'm not sure what it was made of it looked like soya mince and it was a question of hunt the nut.. I mentioned this to the waitress who said she would tell the chef. That was the last we heard of it. No compensation. This was a shame as it ruined a lovely evening with friends.

Jail £5 - sort of acceptable now but 7.25 for medium Chilean Sauvy B wine 🥴. Couple of bags of crisps - total - 15.25! - for one round!

I have left 2 phone messages and sent one email over the past 48+ hours trying to book a table for lunch. No response so we have decided to go elsewhere instead.

Still very good food and very good value for money , however , i called over 30 times at varying times of the day for a question about a festive booking , left messages that were not replied to. The manager could not gives us any explanation why there was no response and would get back to me during service , but didn't. We appreciate the nature of the work they do , but as i mentioned , they had lost quite a few bookings from us and family by not responding. In our opinion , the food , atmosphere and value are still very good , but we feel that the lack of communication has taken a downturn.

We had a Christmas party there and it was amazing from the start to the end. The way the tables were organised so we could see each other and talk. The food was delicious 😋 the staff was always helpful and friendly.

We went to the Ten Tors to celebrate our daughter in law’s birthday, we were a party of 13 including 2 toddlers and 2 young children, one of whom has severe allergies. All of the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Our granddaughter’s allergies were carefully considered and accommodated and the rest of the food was served in good time and piping hot. The portion sizes were very generous and the food was delicious and well presented. We had a lovely family meal and left knowing that we will definitely go back again. Thanks to all the staff.

Not the cheapest and especially for a family, but good quality food and piping hot. No staff member available upon arrival so stood waiting to be seated but locals/regulars then got served first. No menus on tables so no idea what food available and then wanted to take a drink order. Not too sure if they wanted families in or not considering there were only 2 other tables in use and they had to find one "available" for us.

Nice place, was just lacking a bit of something. Was there a bit earlier for food, which was nice, just not a lot of people there.

We went here for the first time yesterday, we did have 1 small problem but it was dealt with quickly, professionally and we were happy with how it was resolved. The food was lovely, clean and fresh and everything was piping hot. I was annoyed with myself for not having the carvery (although my lasagne was beautiful) as it looked amazing! There was a huge choice of meat and vegetables, definitely something for everyone. The staff were lovely and friendly. We will definitely be coming back very soon!

Grotty place with a terrible atmosphere and attitude. A huge dog wandering between tables with the owner struggling to control it. Are we expected to sit down to eat with the dog right in our faces? Lots of staff, busy ignoring us. Very loud TV for some reason. The carvery looked set up. Huge joints of meat ready to slice but no, that must have been for staff because the first thing the young man said to us is "carvery has stopped" and so we had to look at a menu that looks like it was written in the early 90's. Nothing fresh, nothing interesting. Such a shame. I have driven past this place so many times. At least I now know that it isn't worth stopping.

Was just trying to see about what they do as a Steak meal, for myself and the Wife for my birthday... ... Website is awful, couldn't find specific info, won't bother in future,not just going to turn up on the off chance and hope for the best..... Heard good things,but won't bother if you can't be bothered to encourage people...you obviously don't need our custom anyway!!

The roast was delicious! The cauliflower cheese was amazing. Staff friendly and prompt service. Was given a box for leftovers. Good value for money. Would definitely return.

Didn't start serving them until 6pm but we were made to feel very welcomed to sit at the table with a drink and wait.. food was amazing, staff very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back . Good quality and staff are friendly. Really nice carvery but also one of the most expensive pub carvery's we've visited. We were very impressed by the gentleman in glasses serving the carvery, he was happy to provide gluten-free gravy and Yorkshire puds - thank you! Plenty of parking and seating.

Food was brilliant, staff were wonderful but manger was absolutely disgusting towards his staff going as far too shout, click his fingers and belittle them. Considering they have a sign in the bar, stating that “ the whole world is short staffed, BE KIND to those that showed up”

Food was delicious, staff were attentive and polite however the manager was shouting at the staff, clicking fingers and being rude. We saw one member of staff cry and it got to the point we had to mention it to another to say how rude he was. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from a man who thinks he is superior to others. Needs to get a life.

What an absolute gem. Picked this at random for a lunch with friends and was very plesantly surprised. Pretty restaurant with EXCELLENT food. Huge portions with the typical pub classics as well as some interesting items. Everyone I was with had a super yummy meal.

Popped in for a coffee & chat with a friend. Sat outside as weather was warm enough.

Food excellent .. service extremely disappointing … very inexperienced young staff waiting on table … i.e. no water until requested ? After eating, tables not cleared for some time until requested to do so. Coffee spilt in saucer, saucer removed and not returned???

Dog friendly, nice play area for children. We were made to feel welcome on arrival. The menu has a great selection, the food cooked brilliantly and they aren't shy with the portions. We were the last people in there and were not made to feel like we'd overstayed our welcome. All the staff were helpful and friendly. A place I would recommend highly.

Good carvery and fresh vegetables and special boards. The only problem was the length of time to receive drinks and there was food on the floor that was passed by number of times by staff and not picked up and it wasn't that busy. But overall a great place for families to go

Thanks to manager jimmy and team we had a delicious family carvery, we were a massive group and well catered for. The roast potatoes were a nice surprised, proper ones which made all the difference. Obviously a local favourite, the place was buzzing.

Visited tonight for the 1st time, food was excellent, portions were generous. Food was fresh, carvery had a good selection. Service quick and excellent. The only negative was there was hardly any ice cream in the Knickerbocker glorys' Otherwise excellent.

Food was excellent as was the service however the beef from the carvery was quite tough and most of our party left it. Large portion of meat and the turkey was lovely. All piping hot

10 tors ploughmans . With scotch "EGGS" my friend and myself had 1/2 an egg each we called it "scotch missed" in car on way home.yes we missed out on menu false description. Otherwise meal service atmosphere ok . So get your menu sorted 10 tors manager !!

A truly wonderful pub with amazing food. The lasagne is to die for. Amazing service all around, however the interior decor isn't the best. Tables were a little bit sticky but service was fast and the overall experience was lovely. Would recommend.

Carvery veg never kept that warm, under serving lamps. The meat is nice but it needs work.

Just came in with my farther to find that the girl with black eye liner clearly does not like her job, no hi no thank you! No nothing just rude & arrogant!!! Choose a different job Mush!😘

Food excellent at reasonable price customer service second to one. Went on a Wednesday carvery running til 8pm. Staff worked as a real team, was very impressed. They have something very right here...prices, speed of service and excellent staff

Had an amazing carvery here whilst away for BH weekend. Dog friendly in one area. Excellent food & great service. Very impressed with venue. Best to book to avoid disappointment.

The atmosphere later this afternoon was loud and oppressive, but very busy. There was only one very young table server, who was rushed off her feet. Surprised that there were no food specials offered. The food was below average in content and presentation. It appears that the manager, previously responsible for operating a very special hostelry, is stepping back. If true, it would explain why the place has gone right down. An awful shame that this once excellent hostelry has gone right down. We won't be returning.

Amazing food. Lovely friendly staff absolutely worth a visit

Really disappointed with the Carvey meat salad and knickerbocker glory. £14.95 for the salad which consisted of 4 slices of meat, lettuce, cucumber, tomato and some bought in coslaw which was a bit warm. I'd be happy paying £9.95. My husband had the southern fried chicken burger which looked amazing. My meal was miserable next to his and since it was the same/similar price I was super disappointed. People on the table next to us even commented on how lacking it was.... I think I'll stick to going to The Welcome Stranger in future. Knickerbocker glory was super yummy, just a bit miserable that the sundae dish wasn't filled up (bottom half was empty!!) And at £7.50...

I have been here for carvery deal, as a chef of 35 years I know how much hard work it is. The food was great all the veg cooked well not mush plenty of veg, staff where very nice would recommend. The only thing I would say is that the puff pastry on the pie needed more cooking, but apart from that keep up the good work one other thing one of the best Creme brulee tasted and i have cooked alot over the years

We can honestly say this was the best carvery meal we've ever had! Wonderful tender meats and amazing selection of veg including really lovely caramelised parsnips, very cheesy cauliflower cheese and fab Yorkshire puds. Service was excellent from the moment we walked in, super friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We'll be back tomorrow to try out the pies! Thank you very much for a lovely evening!

We came on the 8th May 2024 as we were celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary, which was special for us as also we celebrated our very 1st Wedding Anniversary there back in 2003. We had the carvery which was fabulous as always. All the staff are wonderful even on super busy days.
