Absolutely DELICIOUS baked potatoes!

Fluffy potato and lovely filling. I haven’t had as good a tattie as that in ages! 😄 A perfect lunch for a cold rainy day.

No frills but delicious baked potatoes. Very friendly service. We’ll definitely go back next time we’re in Edinburgh.

The food was delicious no doubt but I personally felt it a bit overpriced and overrated. If you go a bit further to the royal mill there are much better options than this. The ambiance is nostalgic but very limited sitting space. The owner was quite nice to talk with but the young staff was bit in attitude.

Says they are open until 8 pm, but when we entered at 7:30 were told they weren't serving hot items and it had to be take-out.

Had a fantastic meal at this place. The worker was so friendly and personable (and had great taste in music), and helped us make some choices and was really patient while we debated. The food was great and reasonably priced. Some dine in seating but not much.

Lovely place, we found it by chance and we loved it. The man who served us was super friendly and pleasant. He treated us very well even though our English was not the best and he was talking to us. The food is very rich and tasty 10/10!!

Tasty potato for reasonable price, recommend

The man that served me was chatty and beyond nice. The potato was perfect, I went for a regular cheesy beano, the portion size was great and the potato was crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. There was a good amount of filling and butter, salt and pepper aswell. Really hit the spot, check this guy out next time your in the area, really worth a visit.

These baked potatoes (aka "tatties" to you non-American folk) are exactly what you'd expect and hope for. There is an extensive array of toppings from which to choose. A filling meal at a not outrageous price. We enjoyed it and would gladly come return. 🥔⭐

The potato’s are awesome (massive portion) for the price but the best part is the service , the nicest man ! We had a lovely long conversation that I will treasure as a great Scotland memory . Do not miss this place :)

If you are tired of processed or fried food then this is the place for you. Tasty baked potatoes with a wide range of fillings or sides. Room to sit in, or great to take home.

Order 3 potatoes , 2 with chilli and one with chilli honey chicken.2 hours later one potato with egg mayonnaise arrives. Palmed off by shop staff. Terrible service in every way. Haved used this shop many times before but never again. Couldn’t even eat the egg mayonnaise one as allergic to egg

Ordered a delivery from the shop and waited for 2 hours for the delivery that was after phoning twice to be told that it was on its way at 7.00 o’clock arrived 50 minutes after that and when I opened the bag I found 1 baked potato rather that 3 baked potatoes, when phoning the shop just got palmed of with some excuse that the delivery driver must have mixed the order up, but the receipt was what I had ordered 2 x chilli potato and a honey chicken potato, instead I got a egg mayonnaise potato not great to have too share with three people.

ordered the baked potatoes, 2 hours later it finally arrived and low and behold we had been given the wrong order, the bag was sealed and had the correct receipt which had my order on it, but instead of the one large and two regulars we had ordered we received one large with egg mayo, which a member of my household is allergic too when we phoned we were given poor customer service and were asked “what’s wrong with that” after we explained we had a allergy to egg!!! then they tried to blame the delivery driver, own up to your own mistakes. definitely will not be going back to this place

I wanted to try it because we often see this restaurant in town, pork meat served in a bun, quite a quantity of meat but very little flavor, on the 2 sandwiches that we took 1 summer with apple sauce, it was almost impossible to find and another very spicy one which was not even the author of a samurai sauce... in short disappointed you have gone your way... there are better

My favorite food when I was at Edinburgh University 23 years ago. I still feel happy when I see it today. It’s very, very delicious. I recommend it to everyone.

Don't go here if you're hungry. The baked potatoes are nice but average, some of the fillings are bought in and not freshly made. Spuds are on the smaller side and not crisp. The service is again average, don't get much help when you don't know what you want. I've tried many spuds places and know my baked ones, £8 for a small spud with 1 topping and cheese - this is one place I wouldn't bother returning to nor would I recommend

A quaint little shop that sells traditional baked potatoes- a wide selection of toppings and taste did not disappoint! Personally loved the tuna mayo in buttered / cheesy potato- melted cheese and the fatty tuna were a good combo- was also very filling. Decent prices given how central and popular the area is. Relatively small seating space but VERY clean and tidy given its appearance of a casual UK style chippy shop. Loved the friendly waiters. Will come back and try other flavours next time.

The concept is simple: baked potatoes with toppings. The execution here is decent. Toppings are what they say on the tin, so pick carefully. It's an inexpensive way to have lunch in this otherwise very touristy area. There's not much seating but people don't tend to linger so we were able to sit and eat. The place has little charm but the tables were clean and the food was filling

GO HERE!! The food is amazing, the man helping us is the sweetest person in Scotland, the prices are perfect. The atmosphere is adorable and they really need to start making shirts :) Made our day perfect

Never order here from just eat ordered lunch at 2.30 pm nearly 4pm and still not received my order. No tracking on the driver so looks like it’s not even left the shop ! Might be able to get it for dinner.

So delicious and the ultimate comfort food. Got the MacDaddy (mac and cheese with sweet chilli) and Cheesy Beano (baked beans and cheese) potatoes and they were both very good.

Old restaurant serving baked potatoes with different filling. We ordered 2 "small", and we had difficulties emptying our plates ! They are so big ! We had cheese ( wouldn't recommend, it'd only a baked potato with grated cheese on it) and chili con carne (which was spicy 🥵). I would recommend other flavours. Staff is friendly and potatoes go from 5 to 7 pounds.

This takeaway is a hidden gem in the heart of Edinburgh. We saw this on social media and instantly knew we had to visit and were not disappointed at all. These are the best Jacket Potatoes we have had and will always visit whenever we are in Edinburgh. The customer service is the best you will receive with a warm welcome, a clean and friendly environment with plenty of seating available inside.

Feeling at risk of sounding like some weird potato enthusiast (honestly I’m not 😆) but stumbled across this place and enjoyed some serious comfort food. Potato was huge and cooked perfectly and there was absolutely no scrimping on toppings. Perfect easy and cheap lunch option!

I just touched down on Edinburgh from the US yesterday and this place was close to my Airbnb so I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did! The gentleman who was working was so nice and funny. After telling him this was my first food in Scotland he said “Oh then no pressure then” and said he’d make it 10% better than usual. We both laughed because I would really have no clue if he did or not. He suggested the coronation chicken tattie so that’s what I tried and I wasn’t disappointed at all. It even became my comfort food as I sat and ate it locked out of my Airbnb waiting for help. Lol. I think it was because of that extra 10%. *wink* Great service, great food, will definitely be back again during my trip.

Ohh so good! One of the best comfort food in the city. The portion of a large meal can feed you the whole day! Super generous, not for the faint hearted. We had the moms curry and chili con carne, both were lovely! Whatever you order, order with CHEESE. Love the baked beans as well. The guy who served the food was nice as well.

Was a fantastic little stop. With a very relaxed and easy environment. The gentleman behind the counter was so helpful and nice. The food there was really good and filling. Unique creations and takes on loaded potatoes.

Been there twice so far on this trip. Loved both flavours that I tried. Need a large appetite for the large! Ask for the extra cheese....makes it even funnier!

I got the Chili con Carne baked potato with cheese added on and it was pretty good! The only thing stopping me from giving the place a five is that the chili tasted a bit of curry powder, but the over all potato was cooked well and tasted pretty nice. The perfect thing to have after a long cold day in Edinburgh. I recommend giving it a try!

Visited Temping Tatties whilst staying in Edinburgh for a few days, we just wanted a quick lunch to take back to our apartment. Honestly the best jacket potatoes we have ever had. We had chicken Chinese curry as the filling and it was delicious. Will definitely visit again next time in Edinburgh.

Best chana masala I've ever had and a reliably excellent jacket potato! Tempted by the tattie then wowed by the spice. And always a friendly cafe to sit in as well. One of my favourite spots in Edinburgh :)
