Loaded Baked Potatoes, the most tastiest filling and best baked potato I have ever tried. I went for the Singh is King which was homemade channa masala with red onion , peppers and sweet chilli onion bhaji. For all the veggies out there. My partner had the Iron Mike which is Honey chilli chicken , cajun chicken , onions and Sams signature sauce. So many different fillings to pick from and tables to eat these baked potatoes inside. Lovely staff inside too , definitely recommend.

Amazing value and quality, great service. Best coleslaw we’ve ever tasted and the mac and cheese was brilliant, good portion sizes.

Didn't feel like the typical tourist restaurant offerings. The baked potato with beans and cheese was very good. Simple food with a fast food atmosphere. Perfect for in between

We tried this place during our visit to Edinburgh and it was so delicious that we got takeaway for the journey back home. There were a lot of options both for filling and the salad and the portion size was really good!

Food taste very good and excellent service music maybe too loud

We looked for it online and it had very good reviews. Being Sunday we looked on Google Maps and on several websites and everything was fine. However, upon arriving at the site after walking for more than half an hour we found that it is closed, due to construction. We are very disappointed that nowhere does it say that it is closed and it is a shame, because it looked very good.

It really is all in the name "Tempting Tattie", located within a short walk from the train station and just off the Royal Mile, it's certainly a hidden gem amongst all the other small cafes in the area. It is all down to earth, no frills... just straight baked potatoes and toasties without the need of being fancy! Staff are always so friendly/bubbly and with the large amount of fillings available, you can't go wrong with any combination. The tatties are slightly overpriced but for being Edinburgh and in an ideal location, you can let them off. If you are looking for a quick bite to eat or something to takeaway, don't hesitate to be "Tempted by the Tattie!"

It's a shame there are very few seats and a very neglected environment, because the food is excellent and plentiful with really low prices. Good choice of fillings to garnish the potatoes with.

Best Baked Tattie going. Found this place through tik tok and it was a great find. Myself and my family went on our family day out in Edinburgh. Great value for money for the amount, quality and location. We got 2 baked potatoes. One tuna and one honey chilli chicken and one cheese and onion tostie. It wasn't your normal toastie with 2 bits of bread but instead a sport of baguette style. Please see pictures below to see portion size. The seating in this cafe is very cosy but the place use the space the best way they can to get as many seats as possible in. Staff are all very friendly and would highly recommend.

Perfect spot to grab a quick bite. They also have what is probably the best Avocado toast over had since coming to the UK.

Food was really nice and hospitality was good and we enjoyed it.

We’ve been wanting to try these so we ordered today and they were even more amazing than we expected, packed carefully and arrived warm.We were a bit skeptical for the price but it’s literally a full meal, worth every pound.

It was my first stop in Edinburgh, but unfortunately it wasn't a happy choice. The potato with the cold fillings did not meet my tastes, and I found it difficult to digest. My Italian palate is probably more demanding, but I think there are better alternatives in the city. Terrible hygiene!

Small shop where they serve excellent baked mega potatoes to which you can add various types of toppings and a mountain of cheese. The staff is really very friendly, the place is small so at busy times it is difficult to find a place to eat inside, but it is worth trying. Prices in line with the city

Excellent place for a meal while you get to know Edinburgh by walking. Potatoes are amazing with any filling. I would return a thousand times. It's a delight. Mandatory stop for everyone visiting Edinburgh.

I returned to tempting tatties after 2 years. My previous experience was poor. The potatoes served were brown inside and the owner/server at the time was very stingy with the fillings. What a change this time round. The potatoes were great, filling was generous. Will return again with more people. Price was high but fillings made up for it.

i loved the hospitality. i didn't know this culture very well, i asked for help and they helped me a lot. perfect for snack and tastes were delicious. i most certainly recommend it. i ordered patato with mac and cheese. my only suggestion was that the pasta was a little cold, which slowed down the melting of the cheese a little.

After two days of eating on the royal mile it was so refreshing to eat a simple but delicious baked potato and a falafel 😊

Nice respite from the royal mile. It’s just half a block off but much quieter. There is a deli showcase with all the various ingredients you can get on your potato. Got a Chana masala topped potato and it was delicious. Great midday snack that is way more interesting than coffee shop cookies and brownies.

Small place at the end and in a cross section of one of the main streets. Highly recommended baked potato menu. Mixture of countries or flavors. Although almost everyone goes to get takeaway food, there are four tables in the premises. Nice atmosphere. Attentive and fast served. Each dish costs about 9 pounds or so but with a stuffed potato you eat very well

Very tasty baked potatoes with a lot to choose from. Not overpriced like many other restaurants here - of course not the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to sit there for several hours. But perfect for a meal in between! The two of us paid just under €20 for a drink and we were full.

Super tasty! I came back to Edinburgh to finally really enjoy this masterpiece. I can only recommend it to anyone who is nearby and their stomach is rumbling. For around £8 you get more than one kebab for that amount.

The BEST baked potato I’ve ever had. The Iron Mike is the best with fresh and spicy chicken, delicious sauces and a generous amount of cheese, not to forget the most fluffiest and soft potato aswell. Would definitely recommend eveyone to come and enjoy this hearty baked potato!

Amazing little joint, which serves great baked potatoes. Their toppings enhance the flavour. Perfect for a snack or lunch. We loved the hospitality too. Only suggestion would be to heat up the toppings as the baked potato is hot, but the fillings are cold.

The owner( I think) was the kindness person ever! So attentive and friendly making our visit 10/10! Supported with which filling to choose on our baked potato, he also threw in a free cheesecake with our order - which was so nice. Our baked potato’s and cheesecake were so incredible and so tasty. Large potatoes and abundant fillings, small environment, with a few tables for a quick meal. 5 star service for the very kind staff who, due to an allergen not mentioned on the menu, remade the entire course without problems.

This small business was great and original. The potato choices were yummy. The potato was done to perfection. I got the Carlito’s Way because I love spice, but there is something for everyone. If you want a quick nutritional meal at a great price this is your place. Off the beaten path, but with the trip!

10/10 Jacket potatoes with the best range of fillings. Whole menu 100% Halal and homemade recipes that have been going since the 80s. A must-visit and the best food we’ve had on our short trip to the city of Edinburgh. Ordered the tuna crunch and El Carlito - potatoes soft, fluffy with a crispy skin and the fillings very tasty. The staff are extremely friendly and will guide you through the menu. They are clearly passionate about their food and it comes across.

Went in at 20past7 for a tattie to be told there's none left. This place has gone down hill big time they've cut the choice for portion sizes, shut whenever they want and the staff are well rude apart from the chap with glasses heavy build he is brand new and I feel sorry he has to work in such a shady run business now as it used to be an amazing wee place I've been coming here since I was a wee boy and won't ever be back absolute joke of a place

We were needing to catch a quick dinner ahead of a bus tour, and we decided to go to a place we’d walked by the previous day and thought looked good. I’m so glad we did! Who would have thought that a completely dressed up baked potato could be so good and filling. I had the Tartan Tikka potato, delicious! Big baked potato, piled high with cheese and topped with a cold Tim’s chicken salad with huge chunks of chicken. Highly recommend trying the place out and it won’t break the bank!

Went twice during my Edinburgh trip. First time was perfect, got a Cheesy Beano potato to go, served by a lovely gentleman. Potato was delicious and definitely worth the money! Second time, I went in at 6:35pm, and was told by a different gentleman that they were no longer serving food, even though they’re open until 7pm. Quite disappointing but I’ve seen this mentioned in another review so not completely surprised. I wouldn’t have a problem with them closing earlier, but at least serve food until you say you’re closed

Absolutely disgraceful of how how our order arrived, looked like a Dogs Dinner/someone had eaten it and left half/all mushed together!!!

Was in on tuesday, bought 3 meals, really enjoyed it, nothing left over, would defo come back, best of all its halal
