This place really doesn’t know what it wants to be, staff need to be retrained stood waiting 7 minutes to buy an overpriced card whilst some member of staff bellowed at the top of her voice to someone in the back who was laughing and giggling , to make a sandwich . Staff don’t even acknowledge customers very rude . If it wants to sell merchandise it should have a till available just for this and not assume people just want an overpriced slice of Costco cake. Very poor

First visit, had come shopping from cheshire and needed sustenance before the return journey. The cafe is bigger than it looks from outside. The staff are very friendly. We had a small breakfast and blt. Unfortunately the bacon on the breakfast was a little tough to cut with the knife, my sister ended up having to use her fingers to pick it up and bite pieces off! The sandwich was ok but a little overpriced for what you got.

Recently our Holywell age/dementia friendly group met up at coffee cafe (formerly known as temptations) We can’t thank them enough for being so welcoming and supportive to us. The food was delicious and we had a lovely afternoon. We would highly recommend a visit

For many years I have been going to this cafe and found it to be a nice place to relax in, clean, well decorated and a really good atmosphere with pleasant staff. Sadly things have changed now! The other day I went into the cafe for a snack and coffee, as I have read in other reviews on this site the coffee was not that good, weak and not a lot of taste, usually full of froth and so full you spill most of it on the way to the table as you are not served at the table either. I had to ask for a clean glass latte cup which was done for me however when I asked for some extra hot milk because my coffee had spilt on the way to the table I was told by the older lady that they only had 2 small receptacles and the other one was for the lady waiting to be served in the que! The staff are usually very nice but unfortunately on that occasion both ladies on the counter serving were not very engaged. Firstly after one had asked me what I wanted she got the order wrong but I didn't say anything. The ladies were slow and one, an elderly lady always looks like she would rather be somewhere else. I am quietly spoken and a little deaf and find it embarrassing to keep repeating myself when I order, I usually don't have any problems anywhere else trying to order and was getting quite agitated as it was not very busy at the time I was ordering and both ladies were not really interested in dealing with me or my order it was then that the older lady, who seemed to have an attitude problem told me "Not to pull that face and have some respect for retail staff"! Very, very rude and although I felt that I should have reminded her that if both of them had done their job more efficiently then I would not have been so fed up waiting to be served, I have found that in this cafe recently the staff seem more interested in chatting to each other than serving the public, which is what they are actually paid to do. I asked for some sugar substitute because I have diabetes, one said they had non the other dug a container out with some which was practically thrown on the counter so I declined because of her attitude towards me even tho she was shouting after me as I walked away to take the saccharin, As I have said before the experience of going to Temptations has always been a pleasant one but after that visit I don't think I shall be going back there. Recently it has become expensive, fillings are meagre in the baguettes and the coffee is usually tepid at best. I noticed that while reading previous reviews on this site that the owners of Temptations never respond to these comments so I do not expect anything will change for the better in Temptations. Their staff, which seems to change quite often need to be trained properly in customer service and good manners as one or two do not seem to have any of these skills. I went to this place for a quiet coffee and some toast before heading off to an appointment instead I was waiting some time to be served even when I got to the front of the que and was treated in a disgusting manner by one of the women working behind the counter. Also the card machine was not working again! So sadly, I will probably not be going back there again. Merry Christmas, I think NOT!

The coffee is always too hot.burned and cheap.if they can't do coffee the rest must be worse.i won't go back

We have only used this caffe a few times and we have always received a Fantastic welcome from all staff, cakes are a little overpriced hence the rating. We love the sincerity that the staff demonstrate to make sure the stay is as comfortable and joyous as they can make it. Chris is always friendly & laughing and willing to please, Rosie attentive & hard working. Sarah always has a smile & eager to help if she can. Great to have a conversation with.

Had a bacon on a bap with a pot of tea 4.50,not much in it either very disappointed still felt hungry after it.

Go there often nice cakes the food is very good . But what can you say about the staff. They do a great job always happy and cheerful , very friendly always greeted with smile always willing to help you if you need it . Worth going if only for the welcome they give you . Good food good coffee's and a lovely smile , what more could you want

I’d heard a lot about this place and was eager to visit. Found it easily enough, you have to go through the card/gift shop to find it right at the back, and first impression was it looks lovely and cosy. Waited ages to get served as the two female staff members seemed more interested in chatting and didn’t even acknowledge me. Eventually had a lovely coffee and jam and cream scone, there was plenty of choice there, but in my honest opinion the whole place looks a bit “tired”, grubby tables and chairs, and a lick of paint wouldn’t go amiss, you could see stains on the walls. Check out underneath the child’s high chair, it really needs a good clean! Hope things improve or it would be such a shame.

This is now the 4th day in a row that the coffee machine is broken. Its 2019 and I find this very poor. This is I believe the 5th time so far this year. Perhaps it would be a good idea to buy/rent a better /bigger model. Using the money that you charge the same price for a lovely cappachino (which is unavailable) for an instant coffee ...the whole tin of coffee to buy is the same as your charging for one. Embarrassing for the lovely staff to have to keep explaining it's still broken but you can pay the same for hot water water and a spoon of instant coffee!!!

I regularly visit the coffee shop as do family members. Don't get me wrong the drinking facilities etc are all fine. The let down and the reason for the two stars is the smokers outside. I used to smoke so don't actually have a problem with people smoking its the fact to get into the establishment you have to walk through a cloud of smoke or vape which with a baby is frankly disgusting. I didn't quit to inhale second hand smoke. And in the temperatures we have been having if they open the front and back door for fresh air it's a tunnel for it to come through the shop/cafe. Not a nice experience!

If it had not been for seating being put outside I would have missed this cafe, as it looks like a card and gift shop from the outside. The cafe is at the very rear of the shop, which has comfy seating areas. We just had drinks but the coffee was piping hot and just to my liking. The staff were really nice to a little boy who was colouring pictures and then kept taking them to the counter for the staffs approval-sweet! One toilet, which unfortunately was rather grubby all round-lick of paint after a clean would really have upped my score to 5

Unfortunately this place could do with a good clean. Tables were left with used dishes on for quite some time while the staff talked amongst themselves. The tables outside were not cleaned either the whole time we were there. There is not much in the way of variety especially if you are looking for a healthy option. The toilet facilities were also dirty. We would not visit again despite being local.

I can definitely say this is hidden gem, so lovely inside all beautifully decorated with boutique style. Cakes , and coffee taste so nice- we went for gluten free chocolate tart deffo we will be coming back for more :) this place deserves 5 stars xxx

As a resident of the local community I visit this coffee shop almost everyday ,with a group of friends for a coffee or three ,it's rather expensive to be served in a paper cup to sit out in the cold as some smoke . A shelter with some heating would make so much different ,if you wanna pop in occasionally for a Cuppa and a cake it's a lovely little treat

Always nipping in here for a quick drink when out shopping, good and service is always fast and freindly. The toilet is not always open but plenty more in nearby shops.

me and my hubby stopped of here for a snack very dear for what it was and everything very small portions,never again only seves snacks no big meals.

Always made welcome, we call in for coffee and a tea cake most Saturday and Sunday's. Dogs welcome in the outside seating.

I usually pop in to temptations every time I'm in Flint shopping, excellent selection of drinks and food. Loads of cakes, sandwiches etc. I especially recommend the "Hot Indulgence". Best hot chocolate I've ever had, much nicer than costa and other coffee shops. Much cheaper too!

I've visited this cafe many times (as I live in the area) and a few times in one week when I noticed there cakes are the same ones thru the week and get older and drier as the days go by. Very disappointing to buy a piece of cake and have to choke it down. Especially disappointing as this is a coffee shop and it's one of the only fresh items they need to stock.

Went for a latte coffee whilst awaiting my grandson. Coffee very weak and tasteless. I experienced the same over a year ago and thought I would give another chance. Sadly no. Disappointed as this a regular for colleagues to meet up.Staff cheerful and cakes looked delicious. Enjoyed the slice of toast with lots of butter though but not ordering a latte should I return.

Not impressed with a 20%+ rise in the price of a pot of tea. The price rose yesterday (04/10/16) from £1.12 (which is comparable to a similar pot in Morrisons for £1, or a larger pot for £1.10 in Holywell) to £1.35. I could have lived with a rise to £1.20 to allow for inflation and to give a round figure, but I know that my pension has not rise by this amount.

I am not from the area, but as I was in the retail park doing a bit of shopping with a friend, We thought we'd pop into the cafe for a little break. What a fantastic little coffee and gift shop it is. We heard customers and staff talking about how it had recently been refurbished. It looked so glamorous. We was hoping on bagging ourself a seat on one of the sofa's but was taken before we managed to sit down. Instead we sat on the luxurious leather seats in the middle of the coffee shop. They were so comfy we didn't want to leave. We had a lovely couple of Latte's and the tea-cakes are delicious. Only thing slightly wrong, was that it needed the air conditioning sorting as when I asked a member of staff if we could have it on, I was told it was broken and that there was only fans. I will be visiting again on my next visit to Flint. Really enjoyed my time in the shop.

I was in my hometown shopping with my son and I could not resist a trip to my old coffee haunt. Since the last time there has been some changes made, all of them positive. More space, better selection of foods, cakes etc and as always the service was first class. The coffee compared with where I live was much cheaper and no difference in quality. Totally enjoyed my time there. I will return next time I am in town.

Three of use called for a break while shopping, the premises where busy, clean and tidy, a good selection of food and drinks, the only downside was their Expresso's aren't very good, all other drinks ok.

Very convenient position on the retail park. High quality refreshments reflected in the prices. Seating inside often very busy.

This cafe used to be the nicest place to have a drink in town, but the last few times I have gone it seems to have gone downhill somewhat. The quality of the drinks (powdery hot chocolate, hit and miss availability of decaf etc) has dropped an the staff seem hurried and distracted. Other than that there is a nice buzzing atmosphere still and lots of places to sit so I will still visit when I am nearby. I just wish that it still had the boutique feel that it had when it first opened.

Visited yesterday. Mouse traps randomly placed around the cafe - by back door and even down by the settee I was sitting on. Very off putting.

This used to be a regular haunt of mine but sadly it has slipped down in standards. The quality of the coffee is not the same, the cutlery is never very clean and when drinks are served they are done in a very messy fashion, I.e. Chocolate powder which is normally sprinkled on the cappuccino is more likely to end up all over the saucer as well as the tray to carry it to the table. The owners are lovely people but are very rarely to be seen, when they were more involved , it was a great place to go.needs a good shake up.

I've been coming here regularly with my friend after work on a Friday. It was always a friendly and relaxing experience with lovely drinks. Staff worked hard and always went out of their way to make you feel at home, whilst still getting on with their jobs and keeping the place spotless. Recently things have changed and the experience is altogether different. We feel on edge as if we have to keep watching the time. The new lady is offhand and asked us to leave last week so that she could mop the floors! It was 5 o'clock and we hadn't finished our drinks! Her words were " I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to kick you out!" Unbelievable!It's amazing how staff can make or break a place.

Lovely carrot cake, warm and friendly atmosphere. They also sell green tea, and the way they present food it looks great too

Often meet friends for hot chocolate as we are locals, I do think that the place needs a good clean.The walls always have dirty marks on.Tables never seem to get cleaned ASAP which they should, also the outside seating area each time I pass usually has dirty cups etc on them, staff need to check on this area often.I have seen a big drop in cleanliness over the years which is a real shame

First of all staff where uninviting! Instead of concentrating on the customer they were serving they were trying to get ahead and asking down the line. By the time I got my drinks they where cold! Not exceptable! I'm a regular at this coffee shop and have always enjoyed the conversation with the staff! But recently seem to rushed to what they usually are like. New lady who has excellent customer service but was really rude and demanding to fellow staff member. Also over heard staff talking about rodents in the shop. Was totally disgusted. At this point I left my whole order and walked out!

Went here 2 years ago. Nice staff. Nice food. Very Clean. Good coffee and the cream scones meant another visit. Fresh scones with 2-3 inches of cream between top and bottom.Took friends there Monday 17th Aug 2025 . Staff still ok'ish, tables and chairs needed cleaning, they no longer had the cream scones but did have scones with clotted cream and jam. Four of us had these. scones dry and crumbly . Others cakes awful. coffee just about drinkable. My mom was sick 30 minutes after leaving there. What a great shame, you find a good place for coffee and cake and they destroy it. Will NEVER eat there again. Can't say sorry because it's their fault.

Friendly efficient staff with a comfortable seating plan including a comfy settee arrangement. Good choice of pastries, cakes and beverages with decaffeinated drinks readily available.

Called for a couple of coffees and the girl serving never looked at us once. She was too busy talking to two other customers. The coffee was not very good, tasted weak and as if it had sweetener in it. We didn't sample any food but wouldn't go back again because of service.

Lovely coffee/gift shop on a brilliant retail park.FLINT RETAIL PARK. There are lots of shops around this coffee shop these are b&m, home bargain, Argos, pound land, pound stretchers, tops tiles, factory shop, farm foods, pets store jolleys, peacocks, sainsburys, and The outlet store. This Coffee shop looks small from the front but inside the shop is also a card and gift shop. The card and gift section caters for lots occasions they have a wide selection of balloons, gift bags, party bags, wedding, christening, communion, gifts, baby girl and boy gifts, stag and hen doo gifts and all birthday gifts for male and female and many many more. The gifts and cards are very unique and unusual and are very reasonably priced compared to most independent card and gift shops. To the back is the main section of the shop which is the coffee shop. This section to the back is decorated to a superb standard and has plenty of seating areas including couches, high chairs or comfy chairs which ever you prefer. The coffee is beautiful they use only the best LAVAZA coffee. They have a wide selection of paninis, sandwiches, cakes and treats. Lots of choice for children too. Including children's boxes with mini fruit drinks,crisps and sandwiches. Brilliant place for a rainy day or on a sunny day there is also seating outside at the front of the shop. All in all such a nice place to spend a few hours to relax and feel at home :D *****

Always enjoy popping in here, tasty snacks and beverages and friendly staff. Situated at the rear of a good quality card/gift shop, you can browse for that special card or gift and then enjoy a coffee break with a sandwich or cake. A nice break from shopping

Not only is this a wonderful place, it is owned by the parents of Richard & Adam, from Britain's Got Talent!! The coffee and indulgent hot chocolate are to die for....as are the fab cakes. It also has outdoor seating for we smokers!!

For starters, the cafe it's perfect.. Only popped in for a lite snack where I was greeted by a lovely young blonde lady. She was helpful in pointing out the delicious food that was on offer whilst making me a nice warm lattè. Prices are reasonable. Would recommend to everyone.

Although its situated on a retail park, near Argos, it'squite a pleasant place to go for a light snack.Don't be put off by the chairs outside for the smokers because inside the actual cafe is well laid out, at the end of a gifts and card shop.The staff are nice and there is a good choice of teas and coffees as well as lovely cakes and lite bites.

We normally visit Temptations on a regular basis, on arrival we picked our paninis and took them to the counter where a lady took them off me without a look, and carried on talking to the other lady working there, they stopped talking for a couple of minutes when I tutted and asked for our hot drinks. Every table had used cups, plates and trays on them, there was not one cleared. Whilst waiting for our food the two ladies working behind the counter carried on talking to one another without a second glance at people waiting to be served. Our paninis were brought to us and set on the table without a word from the waitress and she could not be bothered to clear the tables as she went back. We usually have really good service here and the place is normally tidy, but on this visit was utterly disappointed in the standard of service and cleanliness

On arriving we couldn't see any trays to place our selection on,no staff to ask as the 2 ladies where too deep in conversation to notice us?! A Gentleman who eventually appeared was helpful and got us a tray from behind the counter.We made our choices,but wondered if there was a menu for alternatives other than sandwiches or if we could have the sandwiches/pannini's toasted,again we headed to the till area where the 2 ladies where still deep in conversation with no interest in us at all,we had to voice an "excuse me" to get their attention and the reply was delivered with such an attitude that we decided to leave.On our way out we did tell the gift shop staff of our experience and both of those Ladies where lovely and did offer to go and do our order but 1st impressions count and we decided we would rather use elsewhere and the Ladies told us of a few alternatives in the area.On leaving we could still see both the coffee shop Ladies still chatting away and it just seemed that customer service was not their priority,would never return and would not recommend.On a plus note,we instead used the local leisure centre just a 2 min walk away,lovely sandwiches can also add chips,prices excellent as was the quality and should you have children with you,they also had a fantastic play area

Excellent coffee and cakes, seats inside and more outside for the smokers, as an ex smoker I think it is fine to allow people to sit outside and access to the door past the smokers is fine.

The cakes and coffees here are fab, the only other food are Panini's and rolls, which is a bit dissapointing. The only problem is you have to walk through a cloud of cigarette smoke to get in, which with 2 children is horrible!

Stopped off for coffee having heard about this lovely cafe. What a super place - really good coffee and a wonderful selection of cakes. Had a cream scone which was delightful. Very friendly staff. The cafe is situated within a beautiful cards & gifts shop. It has a good seating area, plus more outside. Will definitely visit again when in this area.

We have been going to Temptations for many years, seen it revamped - looks brilliant. This is our local meeting place for my girlfriends and I - we can sit there for hours, drinking coffee, herbal teas be decadent with the hot chocolate (can't have this if you are on a diet but it is devilishly good!)

My first visit to the coffee shop though I have browsed the gift shop previously. Service is good and the scones were superb! The coffee shop is at the back of the establishment and is a bit dark, there is outside seating which is pleasant and good for people watching, but attracts a lot of smokers. It is the best coffee shop in this area (in my opinion), but, on the day we visited, the one toilet was out of order and this was not made clear until the post coffee and scone visit. I hope it is working again when I return!

We recently ended up in Temptations on the Flintshire Retail Park after discovering that the nearby Sainsburys supermarket doesn't have a cafe. Fortunately Temptations wasn't too far away. The coffee shop is hidden away at the back of the premises behind a card/gift shop. There's a very limited choice of food, all light bites rather than meals, but what they do they do well. The sandwiches and paninis offer a variety of different fillings and not just your run of the mill ham and cheese. You can also have them toasted and served up on a plate with a small helping of coleslaw. I had an Italian meatball panini which was extremely tasty whilst wife and kids had a chicken and bacon panini, a mozzerella and sun dried tomato panini and a sausage roll all of which were declared to be very tasty. My Americano coffee was also very good.There's a few minor quibbles. It's a little dark for my liking, the tables are a little small for a family of four (even when two of those are twelve and six years old) and when we visited the toilet was out of order so we had to pop over to the nearby leisure centre to make use of their facilities. There's nothing there though that would put me off visiting again.

Temptations does only the most basic of foods, sandwiches, sausage rolls etc but they're always freshly made on the premises. They have a wonderful choice of cakes too just in case there's a little corner to spare. What makes Temptations special in the area is the barista style coffee and the wonderful service. People talk about service with a smile but the family team of Mum Julia and sons Daniel ( and sometimes Adam) make sure it' s usually service with a laugh. Daniel who has a fine singing voice has not yet been called on to entertain though his brothers Richard and Adam have popped in to do so before appearing on Britain's Got Talent ( It certainly has ).They say the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so if you're in the area you should go along to meet Ceri, and the other girls in the great atmosphere and comfort of Temptations.

The shop is very small but the seating at the back is modern and nice. The hot chocolates are the highlight and the food is nice but nothing special. Its fine for a stop while out shopping :)

For a coffee shop it does exactly what it says on the tin!Located at the rear of a Greetings Cards/Gift hop, it has a variety of table-seating including deep armchairs.The food is freshly prepared to order; the filter-brewed coffee is great; and the choice of home-made and fresh cream cakes is worryingly tempting.The cafe is well managed and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Ideal for a break from shopping.
