The worst service I've ever seen in the UK. Food is good. The service attitude is extremely bad, I don't recommend you to accept it.

I don't know why the runner of the restaurant even tried to argue with their customers and taught them what the authentic Chinese food is while the restaurant served with ridiculous version of Chinese food. I can understand why Chinese food in some place gets bad reputation and feel sorry for this. Every dish has unforgivable problems finally annoyes Chinese customers and doesn't satisfy people from other places.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The customer service was extremely poor. When we arrived, there was no one inside to serve us. We had to call them just to place our order. Despite the restaurant being empty (literally no one), we waited 30 minutes for our food. I will never go again and won't recommend this place to anyone.

Poor service. Came for a food on 12pm Saturday, we were the only customers but didnt let us to sit on a 4ppl table. Took 45 mins to serve one dish where the store was empty. They only accept cash, so another hassle. Served tap water that looks yellow

Best GUOBAOROU i had in the UK THAT SAYS IT ALL! Bossman was fairly friendly and he is from DALIAN so authentic!!! Price on the higher side tho CASH ONLY! Not Pet friendly!

This is a bit on the pricey side but the food itself is fantastic and the portion sizes are pretty generous. We ordered sort of what we normally would, but we had enough to take home to have a large Chinese dinner the next day too. This place seems to be a hit with the local Chinese community too as we were the only non-chinese couple in the restaurant, guess that's a sign you know its good!

Ordered hot water that cost £0.5, I was assuming it was boiled filter water but it wasn't, I'm pretty sure the taste was hot water from the tap, where there was once I got pranked by my bestie so I clearly remember the awful taste of it. I wasn't really satisfied with the drink. They should know hot water from the tap can contain contaminants and it also dissolves contaminants in pipes faster than cold water, which shouldn't be served as a drink, I'm truly disappointed with it. However, the meal was good, I won't say it was excellent but it was satisfying. The only regret that I made was to order "Hot water". Learn from my lesson folks. One 🌟 for the staff and another 🌟 for the meal.

First of all, remember it's cash only. Unfortunately their Chinese food isn't authentic at all. Recommended by my friend, we were excited to give it a try but ended up disappointed. Also, the staff seems impatient and annoyed, which we totally get used to as they are the typical Asian serving attitudes. However, I'm not sure if the western customers would accept it.

Fantastic authentic Chinese food. I found this place by chance when we walked in the city center. The food was very tasty and they had amazing vegetables and meat. If you are fan of spicy food they have some fantastic spicy dishes. My favorite is the special chicken pot, I love the thing that many of their hot pots come with a candle underneath to keep the food hot and delicious. The staf is very friendly and the place is beautifully designed. Definitely we will come back.

Fried squid to start which was very good, very tasty. Main course which was supposed to be prawns was honestly god awful. We think it may have been pork but couldn't really tell due to the amount of BONES we thankfully didn't choke on. The king poo chicken was chicken? Never seen or tasted chicken like it and not in a good way. Had to remind them to bring the rice which they forgot. Not until we went to pay did we know they only accept cash so off to the ATM my hubby went. Only 1 other couple there when we arrived but put it down to town being busy watching FA Cup final and Eurovision (yep it's popular with some). I can only assume it was quiet because if you've been once you'd never go back. Can only hope and pray the £42 of guff we had doesn't make a reappearance during the night. Please do not waste your hard earned money eating here.

I had eaten at this restaurant in the past and re visited it today. Absolutely gobsmacked by its extremely poor service. The lady was unfriendly and didn't offer a high chair for my little one. I had to grab the high chair myself and the restaurant wasn't fully occupied. We're the only one dining in. They only accept cash payment... The food is below average and overall the experience was unpleasant.

Fantastic food. Offer includes hot pot and many others Chinese dishes. It is also nice and cosy place to meet with friends.

Good fresh food good amount to eat and all served piping hot. Delicious all round and staff very courteous.

Fui allí a almorzar solo ya que tenía hambre. Realmente no fue bien recibido por el personal y no había nadie cuando fui, así que no puedo decir que estaban ocupados. El menú del almuerzo en la ventana se anunciaba a las 6. 50 pero fue acusado 7. 90 y una lata de coca cola 2. 80 que siento es robo a la luz del día. Así que camine a la vuelta de la esquina hacia Tarn Thai y disfrute de un almuerzo de 2 platos con café para 10. 95 y está delicioso. Así que no pierdas tu tiempo ni siquiera entrando en este lugar desagradable

Our visit here was absolutely amazing. For a traditional meal that caters for all I recommend here. It's very authentic and the staff are very nice. No faults with the food and the entire atmosphere was so welcoming. Couldn't recommend it more 😁

desde el principio fue malo más de la mitad de los pedidos estaban equivocados o no salieron del todo, pedí pato en salsa de ciruela y me trajeron un tazón de salsa de ciruela, esto tardó años en arreglarse. La comida que ni siquiera pedimos nos llegó, cuando llegó mi pato en salsa de ciruela, era simplemente vil, solo pude manejar tres pedazos, y como llegó tan tarde, todos ya habían terminado para cuando llegó, pida el resto para cuando todos terminaron de comer cuando llegó a mí, pero era tan poco comestible que tuve que tirarlo. mi plato de compañeros (algo en un aceite de chile) fue aún peor (lo intenté un poco) todo lo que pude probar fue aceite viejo y sucio, sin rastro de chile. nunca valió lo que pagamos. el personal fue educado pero despistado, Sinceramente, no quiero ser malo, pero iv tenía mejor comida china de un supermercado económico. pero para ser justos, la sopa de wonton era muy buena, pero eso fue todo, nunca más volver aquí. Sinceramente, arruinó el cumpleaños de mis compañeros.

I went in there a few weeks ago with a friend for lunch. Am no connoisseur of Chinese food but my friend is and she was very impressed with the authentic, delicious food that we ordered. The waitress taking our order was very helpful and patience.

Extremely kind server and delicious food. Menu includes dishes even the not very adventurous can enjoy, as well as more 'exotic' meals. It was fairly busy not long after opening, which is always a good sign, and meals still came out speedily. Would strongly recommend to Chinese food enthusiasts. Make sure to have cash with you when visiting, as they don't accept cards.

We went early as we were going onto a gig it was reasonably busy when we arrived service was very courteous although the food was a little slow in arriving but the waitress did apologise. Food was lovely well cooked fresh and hot but perhaps a bit expensive Cash only didn’t bother us but I’m sure a lot wouldn’t like it

We visited this restaurant some two years ago and glad to say things are still very, very good. The service was quick and friendly and the meals were red hot and enjoyable. The Duck in Plum Sauce was exceptional.It is very popular with the Chinese,so that tells its own story.Suggest you book in advance and be aware it's cash only.

Sorry to say but this place has no menu outside and in this day and age who takes Cash 💰 Only and not Debit or Credit Cards Having travelled thru China & Hong Kong 🇭🇰 I have experienced many unfamiliar dishes and food but staff here were very laid back seemingly only interested in Rich Chinese Students in Nottingham offering Chicken Feet , Intestines and the local people like ourselves were not really made welcome The menu did offer a few dishes such as Salt & Pepper Spare Ribs , Crispy Duck but for roughly £6.00 plus it was a plate of bones and seriously did not hit the spot plus when asking for Spicy 🌶 Singapore 🇸🇬 Noodles these were so bland it was a laugh 😂 Sadly this place wasn’t for us but may cater for ex-pats from the Far East ..Should u be looking for Char Siu , Pak Choy and other nice dishes maybe searching elsewhere in Nottingham

This restaurant was recommended by my wife's colleague and we're glad we went. A friendly welcome, no waiting for a table and menus in seconds. It was 5.45 pm however so not busy. The Chinese locals eat here so that's a good sign. The food arrived quickly and was really tasty - it tasted better to us than most of the Chinese takeaway meals we've had to date. We opted for the set meal for 2 which was a choice of soups, black bean & beef in sauce, Chicken sweet & sour and special fried rice. Total price £36 not including drinks which were a bit expensive but similar to elsewhere. A clean & well presented environment - we'll go there again sometime.

....Tell me that my soul's forgiven. It's a cracking smallish no frills type of place. We had booked a table for 8pm on a Saturday night. The place was over half full, but had one very large party on the go. As a result our starters took a little longer to arrive than is ideal. Staff were very apologetic & threw in some prawn crackers to keep us going. The meal itself was delicious, although I did find the menu a bit confusing. The meat eaters amongst us had duck to start with a couple of beef dishes as mains. The veggie enjoyed veg spring rolls and a tofu dish. This was all washed down with a couple of beers. A word to the wise for you youngsters who never seem to have seen notes & coins, it was cash only on the night we visited.

We visited this restaurant twice in last 2 weeks and althought the food was very good on both occasions but the service was very inconsistent. First visit we were served the meals and half way through we were offered chilli oil and other condiments which I understand should have been brought all together as the lady who I suppose was the manager seemed upset this wasn't done by the waitress. Anyways, not a big issue though service on our 2nd visit was nothing special really. I would score 4 for the first visit and 3 for the second one but as they told us we can only pay cash after we ordered on both visits, I score 3. There is certainly room for improvement, staff should be more attemtive and offer condiments and second drinks, moat importantly they should get card machines sorted asap.

Visited at 9.20 pm on a saturday night and told restaurant closed at 9.30 pm. On questioning rhis changed to last orders at 9.30pm but closes at 10.00pm. Told must be out by 10.00pm. We were a very smartly dressed couple looking for nice evening meal but staff very unpleasant and will never ever go back. Avoid.

Had lunch there today. The best duck in plum sauce I've had in over half a century! Nice crunch skin, tender duck, everything you'd want in the dish.

Went on a hot Sunday night for a birthday. The menu is really good and the service really good. The food was fresh and light unlike some heavy sometimes floppy sauces you can get. The spring rolls and satay was very tasty with a great satay sauce.we had duck in black bean which was intense and really lovely. Definitely would go back and want to try the dumplings which looked great on other peoples tables !!

The food was excellent. We had the 2-person set course meal. The soups were delicious and came in a big bowl. The main course of pepper beef and sweet and sour chicken were wonderful, perfectly seasoned and not too salty. We really enjoyed it.

There were 6 of us went for a meal to celebrate Chinese New Year, and as usual had a fantastic meal. Great service, great food and great value for money.

The part-time waitress was very friendly. The place was very cold and the toilet is not very clean with only freezing cold water to wash hands. We had to put our coats on to sit there throughout our meal and our children were complaining that their hands were freezing. As a Chinese person who lives in Europe, I go to UK mainly to hunt for authentic Chinese food. The food here is very disappointing. 锅包肉，红烧肉，辣子鸡 were okay, 水煮肉, neither spicy nor peppery, 夫妻肺片，腰花，猪肚 were very bad with very thickly sliced ingredients and so flavorless. The noodle dish I ordered for my children, 五彩拉皮，was colourless and flavorless except a little chilli oil in the sauce, which is funny since the dish's name literally translate as a five coloured noodle dish and not spicy. Also the noodles seemed not very well-done.

Dishes are flavourful. The chef nailed the seasoning and flavours just right. Not too salty and not too bland. Right balance. Oh, and you can add as much rice as you wish to. They count it as per head. Definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for tasty and reasonably priced Chinese meal.

Went here before going to see a show,the restaurant inside is pretty basic.We ordered some starters and main courses,the food arrived quickly and was very tasty and plentiful. The service and staff were really good too,definitely worth a return visit.Good value for money.

Absolutamente no es una buena relación calidad-precio. Pedimos un plato de pollo en dados curry que era puro huesos sin carne - ni siquiera el sabor de pollo. . . También pedimos un cerdo y verduras chow mien que sólo era simple fideos y unos trozos de cerdo con verduras no en todo aparte de soja. La comida es terrible, no vayas! Genial, la comida china auténtica de la realidad, calidad que sería considerada de primera categoría incluso en un muy buen restaurante en Beijing. Y lo sé, porque yo vivía allí. Precios justos para fantásticos platos. Mi nuevo favorito de la ciudad.

Gran lugar - es que la mayoría de restaurantes más oriental del Reino Unido china, pero no es nada demasiado desafiantes en el menú. Muy buen fideos especialmente buena.

Como siempre, nuestra visita a este lugar no me decepcionó. Teníamos el plato mixta para 3 personas y fue impresionante y tan fresco. Después de que todos nos lo pasamos de red distinto y divinos.

La próxima vez probaremos más platos en el menú, que aunque no es muy extenso, ofrece una buena variedad de platos básicos. Lo que tenía era de buena calidad, 2 desde el menú de arranque y 1 plato de fideos para compartir. El calamar estaba muy bien hecha y los fideos singapur tenía un montón de 'bits'. La salsa en las costillas de repuesto era un poco insoportables, pero lo más importante, la carne era decente y no el más barato, más desagradable que cortar con tanta frecuencia. El servicio fue bueno. Estábamos un poco dudosos desde el Templo del Cielo fue un excelente lugar tapas españolas más en su anterior encarnación, pero sin duda volveremos antes de demasiado largo.

Didn't know quite what to expect after we made phone booking for six people as things seemed to be a little confused but we needn't have been concerned. Upon arriving we were shown immediately to our seats. There is a wide and varied menu with good descriptions and colourful illustrations. The majority of the meals were excellent but one was thought to be over salted. Nevertheless, overall we were well satisfied with the quality, variety and value of the meals. The place is very popular especially with the Chinese so much so that some of our meals did not arrive exactly at the same time. This was a little frustrating so we cannot give it full marks. However, the staff were very friendly and the place has loads of atmosphere. We would not hesitate to recommend it as a great place to eat. At the end of the evening, when there was torrential rain the staff arranged for taxis. All in all, good staff, good meals, good time.

I went along with a group of friends to this restaurant on a Sunday early evening. I had heard only good reports of the quality and taste of the food. We ordered at least a dozen different dishes from Chicken, Spicy beef, Duck, Prawns, fish and squid, along with a many vegetable dishes. All were presented to us in good time and with plenty of rice and noodles. I don't think I can remember a time that I have enjoyed so many different meals in the same sitting and I have to admit to being rather full at the time of leaving. There was a good atmosphere which we may in some small way have contributed too, but it is no doubt the food was the talking point.The value for money was exceptional and I along with my friends will no doubt return.

Very tasty authentic / traditional Chinese food, with the usual western options too. We have tried a lot of city centre Chinese restaurants and we now think this is the best. We started with soups which were a bigger size than most other restaurants. Followed by main courses of beef and noodle soup which was very large with homemade noodles and good fresh veg - and braised pork in brown sauce with egg friend rice - again very nicely presented and very tasty. We will certainly return and it's a pleasant internal ambience.

This place is wonderful - been 3 times now and most recently for lunch. The menu is varied and has so much to choose from. We had some chicken satay and chicken wings to start. Gorgeous. Next some beef and chicken noodles which were among the best I have ever tasted. This is a small place but worth a visit and the staff are very polite and eager to please. One of the best authentic Chinese eateries in Nottingham.

Sunday night 5th June we had passed on the Saturday night it was packed with mostly young Chinese (students?) took table for two just inside the door, the menu is in Chinese with pictures for us, the waiter was very good asked us what we like & how much we eat & he put our order together, dumped the chopsticks & asked for knife & fork, got a fork & spoon, soon a bowl of very spicy small chunks of chicken turn up chopped with the bone quite hard to eat but loads of it cooked in chills & peppers, salt & pepper chicken with spring onions & small green peppers, spicy Singapore noodles with chicken pork & shrimps, bottle of crisp Tsingtao lager, bill £30. I very really give any venue the excellent vote, but this gets one, while we where there all the six staff had there dinner around a table amazingly without speaking to each other!

This was an impromptu visit with 5 friends, the food was very tasty if u made the right choices. We had a chicken dish which had lots of small chicken pieces, but they were chopped with bone, would have been much better with boneless chicken. Prawns were delicious as was the Peking soup and fish in hot oil. A few other dishes were yummy too but the others just need much less bone please. Also, it would be nicer if all the food came together so no one has to wait to eat their yummy food. Was very tasty overall though and we would go back.

The chef in this place is amazing !!This guy combines herbs with food at an unprecedented level.WOW !!The smell the texture the spices – Unique – Superb Chinese food – In fact Best food in all restaurants in Nottingham of any ethnicity.All I can say is: GO GO GO, while this chef still works there.This is the first time I wrote a follow-up review on anything but I could not resist.I came back tired from work, so I went in and ordered a takeaway – Wow it was the tastiest thing ever – it really made my day – my month I should say.BRAVO CHEF !!

Having visited the Temple of Heaven as a couple we returned with a large group of people (14) to have another excellent meal. The fish with pickled cabbage and chillies was again excellent - the stand out dish for me - but the aubergine dishes were also excellent as was the prawns. The Noodles were simple but great - the beef dishes perhaps less impressive.What the service lacked in numbers was made up for in enthusiasm and friendliness.For me this is the stand out Chinese restaurant in Nottingham at the moment

Visited on Friday, we waited over and hour and a half for food, which we weren't warned about. All four dishes came out 10 minutes apart and the wrong rice. When this was corrected we were still charged for the wrong dish. Food tasted good but the poor service ruined it for us.

we tried the sweet n sour ribs, braised beef brisket and the sliced pork belly all which were reasonably priced and portioned. It was well cooked but service could of been more quicker as the restaurant was full and only had one waitress serving.

We ate hear after a film at the broadway on Thursday night - all round this was a very good meal. We started with butterfly prawns and chicken satay - which were a clear notch above the average UK Chinese meal. For main course we had chicken baked with Chinese mushrooms and Fisk with chilli and pickled cabbage - both were excellent - particularly the fish. I have not enjoyed a Chinese meal as much outside of China. Well worth a visit

went in purly by chance and discovered the tastyest chinese restaurant in the UK (up to now at least). Even though it is off the beaten path it was full of chinese people enjoying their food so i thought i would try it. Was i glad i did. The place is trully a temple of heavenly tastes. Simple yet clean and friendly. Do not miss it.

This is a little different than a run of the mill westernised Chinese restaurant. There are many different dishes on the menu. A good recommendation has to be when the local community eat in it.There were 4 of us, we shared 2 starters which was plenty and then we had our mains. Every one of us were pleased with the dishes we had served and personally I'd say this is right up there with one of the best Chinese meals I've ever had.Well done team! Loved it and would most definitely return.

Visited with my husband for dinner one Friday night, we had been meaning to try this place for a while and were really disappointed when Bar de Nada closed so we were really happy to have such a good experience in its latest guise as a chinese restaurant. The service was good, like other reviewers have said the food does come out in a random order but it is all freshly cooked and comes out piping hot so we werent bothered. We chose off the "chinese" menu as advised by other reviewers and we werent disappointed. All the dishes we had were great, very flavoursome and evidently using fresh ingredients. The service was good and price about what we expected, especially for the amount of food we had. We left completely stuffed and promising to return!!

My wife and I recently visited the restaurant. We are always looking for alternatives to the numerous buffets in town. We ordered from the English menu as we didn't realise there was a Chinese menu available. I would be tempted to order from this next time with a little help from the waiter. To be honest the service was slow, but I think this is partly because there are so few staff and partly because this is they style of restaurant. It reminded me of tapas with dishes arriving a different times as they are prepared fresh. If you're in a hurry stick to the buffet but if you want to graze and enjoy some fresh flavours give it a go.

I ate here several times, immediately after it first opened, but I might not have if I hadn't noticed that Chinese customers were given a different menu. I asked for it, and the waitress cautioned me that it might be too spicy or unusual. No way! It was the first real Chinese food (Northern) that I found in a month in the UK. The hot and sour soup was good enough to be a main course. But everything I tried was excellent, and on my second visit, I was remembered and didn't need to ask for the real menu. When I must eat alone, I don't hang around long, but I was happy to read, drink tea, and stay until I was ready to try something else from their menu. This place would make it in Portland, Oregon, or Seattle, Washington, or Vancouver, BC, where the competition is keen.

I ate here with a group of friends on a Saturday night. Although the staff were polite, the service was a tad slow - we had to wait some considerable time before placing our order and dishes did not arrive at the same time for everyone in our party of four. There was a good range of dishes and our starters were good. We found the main courses to be bland, unappealing and in some cases did not exactly match what we had ordered. Not one of us finished eating our main courses.

I ordered a seafood "Sizzling Mixed Seafood with Chef's Special Sauce". Scallops had a funny taste so I did not eat them. Imitation crab meet bars were included. They were soggy and disgusting. If the dish is too cheap to contain real crab meet then just use some other seafood but not that pinkish thing you call crab meet. The sauce was very tasty but all in all it was a very mediocre meal.

Fantastic service and food. Had stir fry chicken from Chinese menu and chicken sweet and sour from English menu. Really recommend to any visitor.

As we received a recommendation for this restaurant from the "Great Food Club Nottingham" I manhandled my partner and sprinted there faster than a chef can dish up a stir fry. Mmmm - forget it - the fish dish was delivered to the table 5 minutes before the other four dishes and had to be sent back to be reheated (great for oriental dishes). A group of young guys came into the restaurant while we were waiting and monopolised the attention of the waitress - all shouting at each other, albeit amicably, we didn't chose to dine in a street - and that was our lasting impression. The waitress - well although thorough, disturbed our starters to the extent that they were cold by the time she had finished monopolising our table by chatting and was on the verge of bullying, snapping on every occasion that Chef could adapt as soon as we asked a question. 'Chef' actually disappointed with the starters (chicken and sweetcorn soup and spring rolls (cabbage and carrot!)) and the steamed sea bass main was bland enough to send you to sleep. Sadly disappointed.

One of the best noodles (chow min) we ever had! There were indeed lots of Chinese people eating here, which is always a good thing. I think they were also friends of the waiter. The prices were also good. The waitress who served us was a bit grumpy though, but maybe it was because we entered quite late (2 of our friends were already at the restaurant eating) and we ordered food around 9:30 PM while they close the kitchen at 10 PM. It felt that she was in a hurry. Despite of that, we enjoyed the food very well and the spicy sauce we ask for was also delicious! Too bad we were only one day in Nottingham, otherwise we would have come back definitely!
