Went here with a group of friends, the staff were friendly and very helpful, the food was also very good So would definitely recommend

Came here with a bunch of people and everyone left extremely satisfied. All the dumplings were authentic and tasted amazing even the roast pork where other places make hard, at man’s restaurant it had the crispy skin and tender and well seasoned meat. 10/10 best dim sum and dinner restaurant to get Chinese food.

Great food apart from the chopsuey: noodles were raw and crispy still: did not complain as we had been waiting an hour for our meal. Table next to us who ordered at same time were on their third course by the time we got our first, shame as rest of the food was great: ruined the day out for us.

The restaurant is beautiful but the food or the staff are not. You will enjoy the duck feather and super salty vegetables with MSG！ The food will let you drink more than 2 litres water to survive. No parking space outside. What worst is the waiting time is 50 minutes for these three dishes.

The food is ok, but the service is poor unless you are white people. The staff treated us rudely but a lot better to the white people next to us 🙈

This is like being transported to Hong Kong. The atmosphere is amazing. The large dim sum house style layout and the great service combined with the very best food. This is an experience I won’t forget and Man’s is now on my list is one of my favourite restaurants in the UK. If I am in Nottingham again I will be back. The food was so good we came back 2 days in a row.

Went for dim-sum on Sunday. A great selection of food and really good food

Barbecued pork buns, bacon and carrot cakes, bean curd rolls, quicksand buns, and barbecued pork are all delicious! The stir-fried beef river was too oily, the pot stickers were too dry and lacked gravy, and the mushroom and chicken claypot rice was not photographed. It lacked the aroma of claypot rice, so I don’t recommend it.

Poor standard crockery . Had to ask fir a plate to be cleaned before we ate. Food very average and over priced would not go back.

We ordered the most ordinary Cantonese dishes for dinner there and I can say they tasted like top notch restaurants. They do have very good selection on the menu and we went for variety of texture e.g. fried chicken, tofu, veggies in broth as well as fried rice. Friendly staff as well as very clean toilets.

I was in Nottingham for work and on my own. It was a Monday night and I really fancied a Chinese curry. So I put in a search on google maps and proceeded to walk around a few Chinese restaurants looking for one that took my fancy. I looked at quite a few, all of which looked a bit ropey, and didn’t tempt me in. I thought I’d go to one last one (Man’s) and if that’s no good get something else to eat. I got there and looked in and it looked very nice, so in I went. The rest was busy and I was seated close to the door. I looked around and noticed that I was the only non Asian in the place. This I thought must be a good sign. The staff were all very friendly and I ordered the mixed starter, which consisted of Seaweed, capital rib, spring roll, chicken satay and prawn toast. There was plenty there and it was all really good. I had also ordered a chicken curry for my main as I had been fancying one for weeks. Well it did not disappoint. It was the best Chinese curry I have ever had. The flavours were unreal. It is probably the spiciest Chinese curry I have had also, but I like spice, so that was a bonus. It wasn’t overly spicy, but I don’t tend to find Chinese curry that spicy. It’s by no means cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for. Before I did this review I looked at previous reviews and was amazed to see how many bad reviews this place has got. All I can say is give it a go and make your own mind up. I can’t see how you could be disappointed with it.

Highly recommend their dim sum! Must have dishes like steamed ribs and chicken feet over rice in clay pot and, Beautifully roasted duck with crispy skin covering the moist meat on top of crispy noodles.

We have always gone to the one in Wollaston but the last few times has been disappointing. Man’s in Nottingham when we visited last night was amazing. Great service and fabulous food. Couldn’t recommend enough xx

Me and my other half had a lovely meal here. We were staying in Notts for a few days and thought we would visit here. To be fair, we have been before. We had steamed dim sum, which was lovely, and the calamari. Both were lovely. My boyfriend asked for a recommendation, and the lady said this duck dish on the bone. I had fillet steak in black pepper sauce. We had 1 egg fried each, but I think 1 between us would have been enough. Overall the meal was really nice and it had a relaxing atmosphere. Our food and drinks came out in good time and the staff were friendly ;)

Cheaper and more delicious than HK restaurants.

I'm a regular customer and love this restaurant. Have been drinking tea for many years. But today, the service we received was terrible. An auntie was very rude to me and my family. She had no manners. We asked for chamomile tea, but she said we didn't explain clearly enough and scolded us, calling me "Pujie". i was shocked I'm a regular customer, I love it here! I've been coming for years. But today, the service was pretty bad for some reason. One of the older ladies (long hair and glasses) was so rude to us, we didn't understand what was the matter. We asked for chamomile tea, but she came and said we were not speaking clearly enough and then swore at us. We were really shocked.

I dined at Man’s for a birthday celebration with a big group of family & friends…the restaurant was empty but we were treated like it was an inconvenience to the staff for us to be there…other than welcoming our custom. Food was pretty much thrown at us and everything we asked for was greeted with a grunt. The food is certainly not worth tolerating the awful attitude you receive from the staff.

There are no restaurants in the area where I live, so wherever I go to a place that offers tea and dim sum🫖, even if the food is not really excellent and the quality is just average, I always have a great time😄!

The dim sum is really good and authentic cantonese, so it just sold out very quickly. Not much picture was taken because we were too eager to start eating.

態度差到仆街，訂咗枱入到去連講自己訂咗枱都未講就叫埋一邊等，仲要叫人等果句都未聽清楚，人已經走咗，Local黎就自動埋去問，雖然都係等但態度明顯唔同，到有位啦，掉低你就連飲咩茶都冇問就唔再理你，嘢食普通，就算幾好食都係假，冇下次，垃圾

Best dimsum in Nottingham hands down

We ate here last night , there was as a strange uncomfortable atmosphere, we witnessed a table of 4 walking out after being ignore . The staff seemed to be very unhappy being there, they were very uninterested and a bit abrupt and rude Slamming and banging about. The main course was super salty other than that quite tasteless , I requested a portion of plain noodles to go with my main, a mountain of luke warm dry noodles appeared . It was definitely not a pleasant experience , we will not be returning . There is a reason why the restaurant was almost empty on a Saturday night ?

When we tried to order roasted ducks, we were informed by the waitress that the price had increased, which wasn't updated on the menu. Despite our clear request for a boneless roasted duck, as listed on the menu, the staff served us lobster, claiming we ordered it. The waitress refused to change the dish, insisting we had to accept it. Our insistence on the duck led to a waiter eventually replacing the lobster with the roasted duck we originally requested. However, this mix-up and poor service spoiled our dining experience, leading us to decide not to return due to the disappointing service.

Drinks very expensive and lacking atmosphere...good food

Trip up to Nottingham from Bristol, booked for large party as friends birthday. Very disappointed in the service, had to chase a few dishes after being brought everything out. Some food was really nice, other dishes were OK. Got overcharged after struggling to get staff attention. Not the cleanest of places and in need of a bit of tlc.

Love to sit down in a Chinese, what a great meal and got busy the later qe were their. My only let down was that dimsum finished about 4.30 🥺 so we missed it, the food was great and staff were on the ball, we didn't wait or have to ask for anything.

Had 10 of us for dim sum. They were great and accommodating as usual. My go-to when I come to Notts.

Surprise authentic Chinese food in Nottingham

Not a dim sum for about 6 months as our local restaurant closed down, and our our normal Nottingham Dim Sum haunt closes on a Thursday so we tried Mann and it was very good. Staff were a bit random some you could ask and get nothing others you would get it within 30 seconds, overall staff were friendly and helpful when you consider 95% of the dinners were Chinese but they did soon realise we knew our Dim Sum.

Went today both the rice and noodles that were ordered to come out with the main course came much later and only after we asked where they were. Staff were friendly enough but the atmosphere was one of disorganisation

One of the better Chinese restaurants in the east Midlands. The one in town does the lunchtime menu, so booking is a must. Good portion sizes. Great staff and the atmosphere is sound

Wow...... this place has really gone down hill. Poor quality of food, ingredients Poor hygiene from staff who had on gloves. Which they then used to wipe their nose. This place was empty.

I liked this restaurant from the moment we walked in the door. Friendly staff, nice decor, very accommodating. The food was cooked to perfection and we were not kept waiting. I will definitely visit again the next time I go to Nottingham.

I decided to take myself out for a nice dim sum lunch and I wish I had gone to one of my usual spots where I'm not discriminated against. It was obvious when I walked in that I wasn't their "usual type of customer " I sat down and filled out my dim sum order and waited. They brought me the wrong dish and I got an attitude from the woman when I informed them of it. Another dish I ordered never came but by that time I just wanted to pay and get out of there. Clearly didn't like my appearance and didn't feel the need to treat me kindly yet took my money like it was the same as anyone else's. Did I tip? Hell no!

I had a severe reaction to the fried squid even though I don’t have an Msg allergy and have never had a food reaction in my life. I guess they must use a ridiculous amount of msg… so be careful ordering the fried and battered food here. Also the service is horrible and the food is massively overpriced. Much better off at Zap Thai street food restaurant opposite …

Went last night to a half emtpy restaurant and the service was very poor & crockery was dirty. Food was ok but the bar was poorly stocked. Certainly not worth the money and we wont be returning

Visited here due to the reviews we saw on trip advisor and wish we hadn't. Ordered Crispy duck to start, and it was so crispy we don't think there was any fresh duck in the dish. It seemed to be just skin and very dried duck. For mains, we had the duck in plum sauce that was lovely, but the crispy chilli beef didn't seem to be containing much beef. The staff didn't seem to be bothered with their very few customers, and we were not asked if everything was okay. Couldn't fault the prawn crackers, but there was nothing special about the special rice, and the Singapore rice noodles were overcooked and without any spice. We felt everything was overpriced, and we will definitely not be returning or recommending this restaurant to anyone.

An authentic dim sum restaurant. The food was tasty. Staff were okay.

I would recommend ordering the turnip paste cake, shrimp and pork dumplings and the beef stir-fry with the wide noodle. All very tasty.

The food is good here. Very much like the dim sum we are used to eating. They ran out of shrimp dumplings which isn’t a big deal as we came late. Speaking of which, we waited about 15 minutes for a table when we arrived for late lunch (around 2:30pm). We were fine with waiting as we weren’t hungry (we had a late breakfast). When we paid, since we are not used to the non-tipping culture in the UK, it was interesting to be told the total and then presented with the machine to pay. There was no tipping prompt like in Toronto restaurants (especially no prompt for a 30% tip). I was able to use my American Express in Apple Pay. I would come again if presented with the opportunity.

Spacious restaurant, round tables available for people gathering, but the tastes of meal are just enough. The staff recommended special dishes for us, but it was not good as she said. Don't be early arrived, it opens at 5pm.

Food nice but service appalling. Had crispy duck starter which was very good however my main arrived -10 minutes and no plate had to ask for one. My partners main arrived 15 minutes later by which time I had finished my main shame as food was nice 🙁

Quite authentic Guangdong dimsum. The kitchen and the service are very efficient, and the quality of the cooking is still very good. The only concern is that prices have gone up so much lately.

Excellent food! They provide very very authentic Cantonese food (proven by me who is a native HK person). Friendly staff. Although slightly pricey, it's certainly worth it! Our family goes here regularly for dim sum and dinner, both are amazing! Strongly recommended. Remember to book a table in advance as it's a busy restaurant.

As a good chinese restsurant. Comfortable and nice place when eating in. Price is quite resonable.

Dim sum was good although it is ordered on card rather than chosen from a trolley. Service was poor, hectic and disorganized. We were served 4 or 5 dishes that we did not order along with those we did. Not a relaxed experience.

Rude staff,treated like dogs,only had half a sauce because another half got lost in the air when she threw my plate on table. Food was probably dug out from 2012 frozen batch and their whole kitchen team is probably dealing with covid side effects because food tasted like wet paper or used mouldy swamp socks. Also appreciate their fair prices,because I went to Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in Mayfair and paid the same amount. Thank you

Extremely overpriced, charged 10% service charge for no signs of service,food absolutely atrocious, wouldn't even give it to a homeless person. Go to local bin and you'll get better food.
