Superb traditional bakery/cafe with excellent cakes. I had a bacon cob and a chocolate fudge muffin. All very nice. The fresh coffee is also excellent Good value.

We live in West Dorset and were visiting family in Bawtry for a few days ,just pure chance called in to Teasdales and bought a Steak slice ,heaven ! Called in the next day our day of departure and bought a further 2 and sausage rolls to eat on the journey home wonderful and the pastry to die for.I cannot believe how inexpensive these items cost ,a third cheaper than the cost in would have been in Bridport.Thank you.

I’ve decided to call in and pick up a sausage sandwich and a cup of tea to take advantage of their morning deal where are you can have the above for only 2 pounds. When I was about to pay the lady on the till asked me if I want to eat in or takeaway. I hesitated and decided to eat in at which point she said without batting an eyelid that will be £4.85 please. Rather than say anything I simply paid and went to sit down. I then had The pleasure of listening to a customer and members of staff talking about a stomach bug that one of them had had over the weekend in great detail. They didn’t just talk about it once twice but kept going over and over the detail. The sandwich was totally basic the sausage was overcooked and dry and this cost me almost £5. As I was walking out I noticed next door that there is a artisan café offering delicious sounding well thought out proper food for very similar prices. I won’t be returning

I popped in here for a sandwich. Not the first time I have been in. Staff are miserable, do not listen, and do not give a hoot about customers. No manners, no pleasantries. Avoid.

We visit regularly to buy sandwiches and they are always gorgeous. Made fresh for our order by friendly staff. Users of the cafe side to the business always look to be enjoying what they have to eat and drink. Variety of take away and bakery is extensive

Passing through Bawtry saw this bakers and thought to stop. Went in and there was a fair selection of breads and cakes but thought to try their hot sandwiches. To my amazement they aren't cooked to order, except they are put in a hot cupboard and ingredients removed. Whilst it was quick I cannot believe for the amount of money they charge I can't get a fresh sandwich!! On sampling the food it was chargrilled which I guess comes from their hot cupboard policy. Awaiting the indigestion later.. There is offstreet parking and the staff are as cheerful as the food they served

Having been twice before we decided to go again after the afternoon at the theatre. At 5pm it was rowdy and the service was terrible. It was full of groups doing bottomless brunch. Not a suitable place for a family to dine. The swearing and behaviour was terrible and the restaurant didn’t do anything to control it or to keep families separate. Waited 15 mins to order drinks and another 10 mins is for them to be served. Amongst other things we ordered king prawns in shells… no napkins, no finger bowl. We had to ask twice for a napkin. Meanwhile our prawns went cold. We also ordered a pasta dish with chicken. The chicken didn’t come. So had to ask for that. When it arrived I’d finished the pasta and was left with chicken. We ordered two aperol spritz - they tasted like soda with hardly any aperol and certainly no Prosecco. They did correct them and they were then nice - but it’s not that hard to make a nice aperol. Service was slow on top of the mishaps. The staff are all barely out of school and just don’t care. One positive was that the food was nice. I wouldn’t return unless they sorted the staff out as I think this is what the issues boil down to. The staff they’ve chosen and the lack of management is going to unfortunately ruin the reputation of this nice restaurant. Rethink the bottomless brunch/decide what you want to be. You can’t be both a nice classy restaurant and offer bottomless brunch - not at least without separating the two and having some noise control.

We visited Bawtry and stopped at the Crown for Breakfast, wow we were impressed the breakfast was not only great value at £11.95 but the flavour of each individual item was really good, the sausage and bacon was good quality and the poached eggs cooked right. we will definately be back. i believe it was the chefs first day so we did send feedback in with the staff. i hope it made his day brighter
