Four of us ate, all the dishes were a bit bland and unexciting. With so many food places around the Northern Quarter I don't think we'd come back to this place. In fact it was only because the place we wanted to visit (Trof) was full that we came here.

We come here regularly for a bit of brunch, as it’s a lovely spot for some good quality food. We were disappointed by this last visit, as it really does seem to have changed to accommodate the more hipster clientele - so a lot of the lovely options we’d usually have are now not on the menu and replaced with quirky eats. The same foods seem to have increased prices too!

Went in for lunch and we’re seated and served pretty quickly. However the food wasn’t great at all, the main issue was the soup which was really tangy and salty. No one checked back on us to see if we had any issues. We then ordered some dessert and an extra drink, which were all brought to the table separately which is fine, the issue I had was that the obviously finished food was sat on the table the whole time with numerous staff members walking past and not clearing the table. So we ended up with desserts hanging off the table and no room to eat. I asked for the manager and took this up with her and she explained they don’t do check backs and if there is an issue with the food I should’ve raised it with them and that they may not have cleared the table because it looked like the food was still being eaten (cutlery was together on one of the plates and I was eating dessert so obviously wasn’t going to go back to the soup). At this point another member of staff stormed over and said what’s the problem, I explained about the soup to which she replied ‘do you want to speak to the guy that made it’ as if you resolve complaints with the chefs instead of front of house and then aggressively said so that’s the problem do you want me to clear the table and grabbed the plates off the table. To which I said well it’s more the experience we’ve had has been terrible to which she replied well it’s a cafe. She clearly was happy to argue with me instead of trying to resolve the situation. Considering we spent so much money on lunch in a place that’s ‘just a cafe’ that has terrible food and service we most definitely won’t be going back and will be telling everyone else to avoid it as well!!

Shocking and rude service! One lovely member of staff tried to seat us by adding tables together, the manager came over and publicly berated her and made her and us feel very uncomfortable. This is not how management should treat their hard working staff. One member staff, who is obviously of some relation to the wicked manager was very rude when trying to order our food/drink. We were made to feel like she was in a rush and had something better to be getting on with. Food and drink good.

I dropped in this place on a busy saturday, it looked really nice and there was plenty of people in there. I fancied a cup of tea and a cake. We were seated quickly but that was the only good thing about it really. My partner went up to order our drinks and cake. I am gluten intolerant and told him to order anything that they had gluten free. Well there was only one choice of gluten free cake and that was a brownie (bit boring to be honest). We waited for a good 15 minutes for our drinks to come, I ordered breakfast tea which came without a spoon or any milk. The cup was chipped and the amount of tea leaves in the pot was tiny, it wasnt a great drink. The brownie was ok but I wouldnt eat it again. I needed to visit the loo before we left, that was disgraceful. No toilet roll, the seat was hanging off, used hand towels all over the floor, pee on the seat. Thankfully I had some antibac wipes for after I used it, I felt disgusting when I had been in there. I wouldnt visit this place again, there are plenty of cafes to chose from around this area, with better choices and facilities. Sorry

Super tasty mocha and fresh juice, great service from friendly staff. Chocolate brownie was tasty but just a shame it was the only vegan cake available. The rest of the cakes looked fantastic so hopefully they’ll be more vegan options next time I visit

What a disappointment! The overall feel of the place is ‘cram in as many people as possible’ (it reminded me of the business model of McDonalds, only without the fast turnaround), and there was no desire to fulfil a quality of service. The staff were passive aggressive and disinterested, we felt uncomfortable and noticed other diners experiencing the same - one couple were left without cutlery and attempted to eat their brunch by scooping it up with bread. After paying a premium for a slice of cake and tea, we were disappointed to receive mediocre items and to only have one vegan cake option, the teas were served at the wrong temperature with tired, incomplete crockery & tea strainers - if you’re going to pride yourself for having an expert knowledge of teas, this (at the least) must be done correctly. I presume that the expert had taken a day off. Would not recommend.

I've honestly loved TeaCup back in times, about few years ago, when cakes where as colorful as on pictures. The reality now is sad, boring and super dull as cakes are way too overpriced and not interesting at all. Every single cake on display is brown the only things that change is shade of brown. We truly didn't like it. Good bye Teacup.

Larger cafe than expected. Artisan Ciabatta bun bacon butty was overall tasty, if a little pricy and a tad dry. Husband thoughly enjoyed his baked egg brunch skillet with (V) patties, mushrooms, spinach, looked very wholesome too. Excellent pot of own blend loose leaf tea, would consider going again.

Poor service. Poor food. Over priced. Used to be great this place. Will not be visiting again. And it may help in future if the Manager is sitting near and a customer is unhappy that you actually speak to them. Very poor.

Ate breakfast here on my visit to Manchester. The Full English is just what you would expect from a english kitchen like this. And the tea offerings are very good for the "tea-ies" out there.

The service & staff were pleasant. The food was little better than mediocre. The most outstanding aspect of this experience of eating at Greggs, Cherry St Birmigham was the filthy condition. There were straws on the seats. Servietes on the floor and ripped up sugar containers, all littering the floor. The place wasn't that big and would only have taken 3 or 4 minuets to clean. I asked how they can serve people food in such a dirty environment. I was told they were too busy to clean. I said what about the 2 people in the back, that I could clearly see. She siad do you want to go and ask them? I declined. They have got their priorities wrong. Clean first, serve food second, but then I suppose it's all about making money. I certainly won't go back, and nor will I go to another Greggs.

I had the vegan breakfast which exceeded my expectations, although I felt the placement of a spring roll and falafel was quite random. It was the first time I tried tofu and it was extremely nice. Even the toast was spot on! For £6, it was good value for money, especially knowing I could eat everything in the cafe without having to worry. The smoothies were nice too, but were a bit more like juice since they weren’t as thick as a smoothie. I really enjoyed the vibe of the cafe as everyone was so friendly there, it really reminded me of a cafe I used to work at with its chill atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back. They’re also on this fantastic app called ‘Too Good To Go’ which gives you the food a place has leftover at the end of the day at a reduced price so that it doesn’t go to waste! Definitely check it out if you want to save food from being wasted, or just fancy a surprise for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Friendly and welcoming little cafe. Lovely coffee, good service, best cakes. We had the banana bread -moist, spiced and topped with nuts and seeds- and an iced lemon polenta cake also delicious.

Revisited the cafe a couple of times last year. First in Oct where I had a sausage and egg on toast and some tea. Nothing remarkable as the sausage was of the cheap variety. Bought a couple of slices of the fruit cake which looked nice to take away and it wasn't bad! Staff were really nice and there was seating at the back, beyond the store front. Second time was for breakfast after a morning walk. We ordered 2 breakfasts - can't remember which but they were huge! Very impressed when it arrived and the sausages were of much better quality. Very pleased with what we had then but sadly the cafe isn't open as early now so we can't really go before work like we were able to in the past. The cafe has been closed for a while now but hopefully we will be able to visit for brekkie when it reopens.
