We came as a group of friends for the first time - the place was extremely busy on a Friday evening but service was swift and helpful with the menu - everyone was satisfied with the qualitiy and value/money of their meals. I only missed a little but of Greek music otherwise a fantastic experience. I will return soon!

Wow! Just had one of the best chicken gyros wraps I've ever tasted at Tasty Greek Souvlaki in Reading, and I’m still thinking about it! The chicken was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and wrapped up with fresh, fluffy pita, crisp salad, and just the right amount of sauce – absolutely bursting with flavour. Every bite was spot on! Okay, the staff weren’t the chattiest, but who cares when the food is this good? If you’re after proper, authentic Greek street food that delivers on taste, this is the place. Can’t wait to go back!

This is the second time I've eaten here and the aubergine meze is to die for, smokey and rich in flavour, light in texture. Excellent.

Nice greek small restaurant. Good prices for food, tasty and warm. (The dessert are pricy 6.50£). Pitas from 8.50 main dishes 16£. Drinks 3.50£. We enjoyed our dinner. Nice music and atmosphere. Blue and white colour as Greek islands. The staff are ok.

Even though the place was packed, I was offered a table within 5 minutes. The food came after less than 5 minutes and was really good! Dimitri was really pleasant and helpful as the rest of the staff

A place I will always come back to when in Reading! The best portokalopita I have had. My mom and I were just visiting in Reading, and popped in one day to this place for a coffee. We immediately came back the next day for coffee and a portokalopita to share. The next day we came back, with the friend we were staying with, and had another! Just step in, and enjoy the cosy, relaxed atmosphere. You won't regret!

As a greek tourist in reading, i can confirm that the food is like eating in a traditional restaurant in Greece. Very good quality and very original food i would totally recommend.

The owner and the staff are very frindly, there is lovely Greek music and Greek Mythos beer, the souvlaki platter is very tender, and the pita not oily. You can see the menu on my photos also and the plate.

Honestly a hidden gem. This restaurant is so good, the coffee is really nice and the pita pork gyros is phenomenal. Food came really quickly and was good quality. Atmosphere is really nice and it is a good price. I have gone to this restaurant my boyfriend twice in 3 days after discovering it.

Ordered this Mixed Gyro Merida as a takeaway and was quite underwhelmed. The chicken and pork meat were on the dry side, and the pita bread was hard. While the salad was fresh, the single pot of tzatziki provided wasn’t nearly enough for the whole platter. To top it off, the price £17.55 (on Deliveroo) felt way too high for what I received. I’ve previously had their gyro pita, which was tasty, but this experience was a real disappointment. Not happy with this visit.

Visited for takeaway on a busy Saturday lunchtime, the tables were all full! we ordered and paid and waited for a bit for the food. Lovely Souvlaki kebabs very filled and so tasty. Defo reccomend

The lamb souvlaki wrap was tasteless and basically chips and tomato wrapped in pitta with 3 tiny pieces of lamb in the bottom which you can't even see in the photo. Feel like you cheaped out and I won't be coming here again

The exterior of this makes it look like just another kebab shop, and that’s all I was expecting. But inside it’s a steamy little authentic Greek masterpiece. We were just going to get a takeaway, but once we realised how lovely the restaurant was, we stayed for a full sit down meal. We visited on a December Friday night after Christmas drinks and it was warm and welcoming. It’s very busy, but with families and couples instead of drinkers. The menu is brilliant value, with lots of vegetarian options and smaller meals starting from around £6.80. I had a pita bread with roasted seasonal vegetables, hummus and chips alongside a big bowl of fresh homemade tzatziki. The lamb my friend had looked good too. Service was really friendly and cheerful. It’s an independent, family run business and you can really feel the effort they put in to taking care of their customers. I’m so glad I came in here, I can’t wait to eat here again.

This is an atmospheric place with very very tasty food. We were passing through this city and stopped for a late dinner. Entering the restaurant from the cold street, we were immediately enveloped in the warmth of sunny Greece and fed us delicious, freshly prepared food. We will definitely come back here again. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant

Decent food and good portions, but the prices are beyond human comprehension 😂 sorry but it has to be said. The price of 10 wraps is my annual one way flight to Greece.

Really great service. Very attentive and informative staff. We started with the platter to share and chicken grill platter. It was our birthday weekend and we were treated to a beautiful chocolate Ferrero roche cake .

Food was perfect and service was top notch with a smile Definitely going back again Ps we never mentioned one of our party had a birthday after we paid, and they brought us a Ferrero Roche birthday cake with a candle. We came here on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. I ordered the mixed meat pitta and my partner Philadelphia souvlaki. We both had a Mythos beer. Food was delicious as good as in Greece. Very service I would be happy to come back.

Ordered a mix grill platter from here. Ended up getting raw chicken in the mix. Had to get rid of the rest. Called them up and they said they would do a replacement, but after just having raw chicken in my mouth I was put off completely. Called them a week later and asked if they were willing to honour the grill platter but as we were put off it from last time if we cpuld have something else instead. They said yes and made thr order. When I got there they talked about how easy raw meat can end up there due to the spinning meat. Then they charged me full price for the meal going back on what they said. So if you want food poisoning or to be price gouged go here.

my visit was nothing more than a disappointing! Order gyros on the plate and meet was green was simply leftover for 2-3 days, asked the lady to take it back coz meat not fresh at all, what she said was Is fresh from today😭! I just laughed at that point coz I know the industry very well! Service very slow! Maybe is right what people say about this place they don’t care and only washing money here from kanabis farms!!

This is a very casual and friendly place to stop in for a delicious Greek quick meal. They have coffee too, but more importantly Greek beer (both Fix and Alpha, as well as Mythos). Been here twice, and each time it was staffed by ladies who are excellent at running the place (including the grill). Highly recommended in Reading. Pork souvlaki sticks alone are worth a visit.

Excellent as always, the rack of lamb special was amazing and the staff were lovely.

It is upsetting that a restaurant can’t make a Caesar salad of at least supermarket quality.Lettuce was iceberg not romain,no croutons,but pieces of soft bread. No Parmesan, just melted cheddar or eidam. The worst was the dressing from a bottle.

Accidentally discovered this wonderful place, delicious food, incredibly friendly staff and an authentic Greek feel to the whole place. Loved it.

Food was ok but once again the driver did not read the delivery instructions or follow the postcode. JustEat drivers always call from a different street asking us to come and find them!

My partner and i came here yesterday afternoon for a meal and i can say we definitely weren’t disappointed. It is so hard these days in the uk to find a proper saganaki but they absolutely nailed it! Saganaki was gorgeous and as was the pork gyros!! Felt exactly like we were in greece again. To top it off the service was amazing! Thank you very much Athina , would recommend and absolutely return! 😊

Tasty Greek Souvlaki was one of the few open restaurants. Tasty food, good service. It's a warm family-run business. Do visit if you find yourself in Reading.

The “Greek Souvlaki” in Reading opened during COVID - almost 4 years ago. It has since gained the hearts of the locals - included myself - of Reading; not just the native Greeks but British as well. The place is always packed and without exaggerating, you’d find it hard to get yourself a seat without booking. All the food is home made and is authentic: eg feta cheese pita souvlaki, Halloumi pita souvlaki, gyros, Greek salad, fried saganaki and the traditional desert like baklava pastry and kantaifi. Tonight, I had the Vegetable pita souvlaki, wrapped in fries and delicious freshly baked pita bread. The spit bread is made from chunks of oregano with nice subtle Greek seasonings. It is then cooked until browned and crisp on the outside giving the vegetables a wonderful crispy flavour. You can get a nice large serving of fresh salad and tzatziki. I accompanied my meal with a nice grey coffee and a traditional Greek chocolate almond bar. I would highly recommend the Greek Souvlaki restaurant. It is not just authentic, but it is welcoming and warmth. The cook and the staff alike put their heart and soul to it. They all have what we call “Meraki.” Costas.

This was my first visit and I'll definitely be back. I had the pita lamb souvlaki. The lamb was cooked beautifully and nicely seasoned. The whipped cream and custard of the Ekmek Katifi was lovely and light. The service was excellent too.

We have been here a few times and find this place really good value for money. The food is great and the staff always pleasant. Sitting outdoors is not ideal as it is right by a street where noisy buses and other vehicles constantly pass. But inside is fine.
