I ordered 2 chicken shawarma through Uber eats and clearly wrote in the notes no sauce (allergy reasons) and lo behold both shawarma are fully loaded with garlic sauce and the chicken was hard as a rock. Unfortunately Uber eats don’t have the same customer service as Deliveroo so I was unable to get a replacement and absolutely no point contacting the take away so that’s my story. Stay away if you want to preserve your health as some takeaways don’t appreciate allergies

Great spot!! Wide variety of starters and meals, we had both main meals and sandwiches and they're both delicious and filling. Don't recommend getting the starter platters unless you like them all otherwise it's better to get individual meals and starters ( for us it still ended up as less than £20 each). The staff is so friendly and would definitely come here again!

Absolutely love eating here. It’s been a favourite for a long time. Service is great, place is always clean and the food is sensational. The mixed shawarma plate is my go to however I have tried a few of the other dishes and none of them disappoint. It’s a must visit if you are looking for the best selection of Lebanese and Arabic cuisine. 10/10

I went in here with my partner as I've walked past this place every day since moving to reading and it makes London street smell incredible, when we went in we were incredibly impressed with the homemade mint lemonade and homemade ayran for our drinks and the lamb kofta shish and arayes for our meals, everything is fresh, good value and really well spiced throughout, this is a place definitely worth a regular visit are there are many options to try!

This has been our go to place to Shawarmas. However, we were quite disappointed upon our last visit when we noticed the guy making our shawarmas wasn't wearing any food safe, disposable gloves. He was using his hands mostly, and also rubbing his hands from his shirt. With the same hand he then wrapped our shawarma and placed it in the grill. This has been such a turn off! They really need to work on hygiene

Bakery House is an absolute gem for anyone who loves authentic Lebanese and Arabic cuisine! We tried the grilled chicken, falafel, hummus, and chicken shawarma, and every dish was bursting with flavor. The grilled chicken was the standout—perfectly seasoned, tender, and incredibly flavorful. The falafel was crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the hummus was incredibly smooth and rich. The chicken shawarma was also fantastic, packed with spices and served in warm, fresh pita bread. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for delicious Middle Eastern food!

I ordered a chicken shawarma platter, I paid £12.99. The chicken was MICROWAVED. It was DRY, BLAND and was most definetly THE WORST CHICKEN DONOR OR SHAWARMA that I've ever tried and tasted. There was also undercooked bits of chicken in there as well. Complete lack of care and passion in the food they are selling. Absolute disappointment and disgrace. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. There a Tescos just 20 seconds up the road from bakery house, if you're hungry just go there and save your money.

This place has changed and not for the better. We’ve had loads of food here but today the food was overcooked, the recipes inconsistent, food spilt all over delivery bag bad bread rock hard. It’s like they don’t care about customers.

Just had a great lunch at the bakery house mezze plate- fresh and tasty, great falafel, the star of the sho was the aubergine stew with tomatoes it was sublime.We also loved the lamb rice with big chunks of tender flavour lamb, and fresh breads ( too many couldn't stop eating them) we were really full, only downside no room left for the baklava, have to do that next time. The food was heavenly, highly recommended for a good lunch.

We have eaten in and take away several times over recent years and the quality of the food has always been consistently good. Ordered takeaway this evening and noticed the packaging and portion sizes have changed. I understand prices have gone up and large portions can eat at your profit but over £5 for a tiny pot of fatoush is stingy!

Very friendly, polite and respectful staff serving good value, well-executed food. Finally found gluten-free falafel and they were just as I like them; crunchy crispy crust with creamy, savoury interior served with tahini sauce, pickled turnip & chillies to keep things interesting. The grilled boneless baby chicken with salad and chips or rice was huge, moist, citrusy and beautifully charred. Sides of garlic and chilli sauces to dip the wonderful chicken. A true value at £13.99! Place is definitely on the repeat list…

Don’t waste your money. Sainsbury Hummus is better than Bakery house. We ordered Hummus and Mix Shawarma. Hummus was too salty, Lamb shawarma half cooked and Chicken shawarma was ok ok

Food and service was good. But for the price the portion were a bit small.

Not too impressed, have had two dinners here, and a few odd shawarmas for the odd lunch, which have been very nice. Main meals wise, you just don't get your moneys worth. Today I treated my wife to lunch, ordered online, spent around £50. Got two mains, a few hot and cold starters and dessert. All looked good at this point. After it arrived, it was very noticeable on how less food was there, despite spending such a large amount of money. Taste wise, everything was pretty bland except for the chicken shawarma platter, and an aubergine dish. Quite disappointing, wish i had spent the money elsewhere.

I will be ordering AGAIN and AGAIN lol, this place restored my faith in food deliveries. The meat was seasoned and soft, the rice and salad (with a great dressing) were light and tasty. I ordered the tzatziki and mixed grill and received an extra 2 dips and bread for free - im not sure if that’s standard but i’ve ordered from many places in reading and so far this is the only place to give me extra sauce. One of the sauces i got given was an orange garlic and chilli one (not sure of the name) which was absolutely divine. Couldn’t recommend enough if you want a cheeky takeaway that won’t leave you feeling greasy and gross.

The food was ok. Had Shawarma, which was good. Had Fatoush was not good at all. Less salad more sauce. The bread served was very hard.

Wow great lunch! We had the chicken wraps which were delicious, the sweet pastry Baklawa finished off with the delicious coffee. The service was welcoming and first class. was not expensive. Will definitely be back.

Service, food and ambience was excellent. We shared the platter to start and then had lamb chops and mixed shawarma for mains. The food was delicious and very authentic. The Christmas trees on the table was a lovely festive touch! Will definitely be back!

Ate heat last week ahead of a gig. Ordered a starter of baby aubergine (between 2) and a Chicken Shiah and Lamb Shawarma for mains. One came with vegetable rice the other with boiled. Starter was a bit meh, not sure it was freshly made, tasted like it came out of a jar. The Chicken was excellent but the vegetable rice was a bad choice in my opinion. The lamb was ok. Drinks were Carrot Juice and Home made Lemonade both very good. Totalled just under £45. It was ok but not sure I’ll be retuning.

First of all it costed nearly 7 pounds for a bunch of small chicken wings and then charged us 26 pounds for only chicken wings Manakesh cheese and hamouse and juices and the chicken wings were small and only 5 of them.Don’t come it’s overpriced
