Tasty China in Cheshire West and Chester

They deserve a negative start. Poor customer service, horrible and horrendous food. Can't even prepare basic fried rice. Avoid if you can

We ordered a take out i got the cheesburger and chips unfortunately the chips were undercooked and the burger was awfuly horrible and i really didnt enjoy it

In the winter, a bowl of...no, the joy of hot noodle soup! Good quality and low price, the beef is soft and delicious, but the soup noodles are also packaged in cartons, so unless you go home and make your own pots, it's a bit hard to make.

Ridiculous that in 2023 it is cash payments only. Went in to order food and cash only, very disappointed. Feel that most don’t carry cash anymore

Absoulte Joke I rang up an hour ago and got told it would be a half hour wait waited an hour phoned them back up for the woman answering the phone gobbing off "im not the cook" orders closer to us get higher priotity so back of the queue again Never again 2nd time this has happend to us now.

Bland food and the prawn toast tasted horrible, like it'd gone off.

Food was sub-par and the woman at the counter was very unfriendly. We came in as a group but technically ordered separate as we wanted to split the bill and because of this, the women wouldn’t let us have the complimentary prawn crackers for orders over £22. I would have understood this logic if we had payed by card but we all payed with cash and agreed that we were a group. We also asked for cutlery but found none in the bag.

Popped in this evening for a takeaway, nobody to greet customers, could hear people in the kitchen, shouted hello 3 times, no one came out... . , went up the road to Grill Maker instead, great service and excellent pizza!

Stay away from this place, there are so many Chinese takeaway in town. Delivery guy and the lady on the phone was completely rude. And hour and 30 minutes delivery time was a complete waste of time and money. NEVER AGAIN.

Just phoned to order but was told I must pay CASH no cards taken. Can’t get out to get the cash due to disability why Cash only maybe the taxman should visit them.

Plenty of spring rolls and a great portion of Sweet and Sour sauce

Ordered vegetable spring rolls and found what seemed to be meat inside them. I’m a vegetarian. In addition I ordered chow mein with bean sprouts and had to bin the whole dish as it came with lumps of meat in it. Only decent part was the egg fried rice and salt and pepper tofu but won’t be ordering from here again because of the fear of receiving meat with my meal. Wouldn’t recommend.

Delicious as always. Very meaty salt & pepper spare ribs with just the right amount of chilli, fresh and crunchy beansprouts, plenty of "bits" in the yung chow fried rice, prawn crackers obviously fresh and cooked in clean oil. Very generous portions too (enough left over for breakfast!). Excellent value for money. It amuses Susan,the lovely lady behind the counter; that i take my take away home to North Wales on the train. Although there are several Chinese take aways close to where i live, they're not a patch on Tasty China.

Prawn crackers tasteless but five good amount of them. Food comes slightly cold and some dishes aren't filled to the top however the taste of the food us quite good.

I been to a few curry houses but this has to have the best chicken curry and chicken fried rice is amazing there no where in chester like it

This place used to be a chippy a few years ago and the neighbourhood was in need of a good Chinese take-away. We still need a good Chinese take-away, but now we miss the chippy too. The food here is not awful, it's just nothing special. I recently ordered chicken curry here and it was basically chip-shop curry sauce, with a few chunks of chicken and an entire chopped onion. It wasn't good at all. In the interest of balance, it should be noted the chips here are decent, the service is very quick and the prices are competitive. Many locals have good things to say about this place so I may have been unlucky.

Amazing, called them after the menu came through the door. Nobody does delivery in Chester that’s good, UNTIL NOW. WOW, WOW, WOW THIS PLACE IS AWESOME. Food came about half hour from order. It was really hot, really tasty and a good portion. Not to much to waste and enough to fill. My daughter wouldn’t stop eating it, she normally eats like a sparrow. I even called them to say it was great food. This place will have many orders. Thanks Tasty China 👍👍

A friend and I decided to have a film and Chinese night so opted for delivery. I ordered salt and pepper tofu (requested for it to not be cooked in egg) and mushroom fried rice with no egg and my friend ordered some Singapore noodles. Reasonable prices, quick delivery however the restaurant called to question my order, I was then shouted at down the phone by a woman asking what a vegan was and that the tofu had egg in? I asked if it could be prepared and cooked without egg, which she screamed is not possible. Fried rice with no egg was not an issue but took some explaining, in the end I gave up arguing and my friend ate the tofu when it arrived. There was no point in trying to figure out another dish that was vegan friendly as the menu was VERY limited. Food was average overall, I wouldn't bother ordering from here again.

Very annoying they’ve stopped delivering!! We used to order from here all the time but we have stopped now because they are not online anymore.

Stayed in Chester for the weekend and ordered a Chinese from Tasty China, food delivered very fast and was really tasty and not greasy like some Chinese’s. Would definitely recommend.

Ordered my food over an hour and rang to see where it was to get shouted at down the phone from the woman who works in there. Your foods nice but not that nice. Food still hasn’t came by the way.

Food ok for a take a way. But service appalling. I go here quite often but for some reason I always let the them off with bad service. Not any more. Change the staff and this place might come up in the rating. I'm sick of going in and getting shouted at just for ordering my tea.

Normally it had been very good, but my husband and I got terribly bad food poisoning from off rice here and we've not been back since. And never would. It was cheap and normally tasty. But this has tainted my opinion. Would rather pay the extra to go to the best in chester, Shang hai or summer palace.

Staff are absolutely disgustingly rude.. I usually order from here every week without fail but tonight was just shocking... I order the same thing all the time chicken and garlic sauce bean sprouts to replace the veg and my partner had ordered crispy chilli beef.. we even confirmed the order 3 times because they were talking over us when we were ordering... they sent out chilli chicken instead of beef and they messed up my order two. When we called to correct this she argued with my partner and told him it was her fault and complained that we wanted it replacing... she even refused to collect her mess up and my partner had go down there and eventually get the correct order... the Staff here need to learn some manners and treat people with respect instead of kicking off before they weren't listening to the order correctly been they confirmed it back.....

So we order pretty frequently from here and every time it is hot. It is fresh and it's so tasty! We are always full, feel like we get value for money and enjoy the freebies. Thank you and keep it up!!

Absolutamente asqueroso. La mujer del otro lado del teléfono es la persona más grosera con la que me he encontrado. Pedí de aquí un puñado de veces y la comida estaba bien, así que nivelé el mal servicio al cliente que estaba recibiendo. Anoche hice un pedido de gran gourmet, así que no tuve que tratar con la agresiva dama por teléfono, pero vi que no podía agregar un comentario, así que tuve que llamar. Cuando llamé, ella me gritó y me dijo "¡la próxima vez que pones un comentario! ) pero no había una opción. la comida llegó después de diez minutos (yo vivo en los apartamentos del trimestre justo de la calle Brook) y era completamente incomible. Pedimos pollo con sal y pimienta y una caja de mariscos. El pollo estaba poco hecha y eso picante, mi compañero no podía comer y ella ama la comida picante! Mi caja de marisco consistía en una pequeña cantidad de cangrejo sin langostinos y camarón mínimo. Me he quejado con un gran entusiasta e intenté hablar con el restaurante, pero no ha sido resuelto. Nunca ordenaré de la porcelana sabrosa nunca más. No hubo nada sabroso y es, con mucho, el peor servicio al cliente que he recibido. Pedí de este lugar sin ver el restaurante real y cuando tuve el placer de verlo, es seguro decir que me han puesto de por vida. Son los pozos, los "cocineros" no usaban un uniforme ni ningún tipo de redecilla / sombrero y parecía sucio allí. Aconsejaría encarecidamente a las personas que visiten este lugar antes de realizar el pedido porque, al igual que yo, se les pondrá de por vida

Staffs are rough and pretty rude

Prices are great, food was great, they advertised prawn toast and it was definitely chicken toast... I prefer the chicken if I'm honest but it's false advertisement, won't stop me ordering from there though

He ordenado desde aquí algunas veces desde que este lugar abrió hace unos años. Encuentro que los precios son muy razonables en comparación con la mayoría de las comidas para llevar del centro de la ciudad. Las comidas siempre son muy sabrosas y nunca he tenido un problema. La dama del mostrador a veces puede parecer abrupta, ¡pero no dejaría que eso te desanime!

Cash only last time we went but fair portions and good food. Parking on brook Street at opening hours is usually okay. Staff happy to tweak your order/diet requirements.

The woman needs to learn to listen to customers and stfu , orders always wrong and terrible service , lady on the phone has no manners and the place basiclly stole my money as they got the order wrong , left things out but took the full payment and wouldnt correct it i just got abuse down the phone off the lady

The food is extremely hot/spicy. I am someone who enjoys spicy food however this was far too hot. I've never tried anything like it before. My lips were extremely chapped after eating it like it had burnt them and still are 2 days later.

Pedí un chino en línea en 7:05 y me dijeron que no iba a ser de una hora. Nos llamaron a las 7:15 y dieron dijeron que sería una hora y media, 2 horas más tarde después de 40 intentos de llamar ellos hablamos con el gerente, quien prometió nuestra comida estaba en su camino, llamamos de nuevo 20 minutos más tarde, cuando no habia llegado y me dijeron que no sabían donde el conductor había desaparecido o cuánto tiempo sería. El servicio era muy lento y personal grosero en el otro extremo del teléfono.

Terrible. The lady did not understand my order, and I ended up paying for another order that I did not want. Plus, their duck spring rolls were warm on the outside and cold in the middle. Had to throw them away. No offense to the lady server, but she needs to brush up on her english more, as I could barely understand her too. When I told her about the mistake on the order, she thought I wanted another meal. Thumbs down for me, and never again will I visit that establishment. I'm also wondering where the hygiene rating is, as I could not see it displayed anywhere.

Our food didn't arrive and when we called to enquire, the woman on the phone was disgustingly rude, insisted it had been delivered and we didn't collect (we were in the whole time). We were charged extra for delivery. Last time we ordered, multiple items were missing. Once again, when we called to enquire, we were spoken to disgustingly. Hair was found in one dish. Absolutely appauling service.

Mi amigo y yo pedimos comida para llevar esta noche a las 5:30 pm por comer solo. Confirmación fue enviado y establecer una hora como una estimación de tiempo de entrega. Una hora y media pasó y nada. Así que llamamos a preguntar. La señora que hablamos estaba asquerosamente grosero, insistiendo el conductor había sido y intentó entregar y llamé a nosotros recoger. No sólo nos quedamos en el tiempo, pero no recibió llamadas perdidas. Nos cobraron un extra para la entrega. Nos dijeron que teníamos que esperar afuera, como sería 5 minutos. Estábamos parados en el frío 20. Llamamos de vuelta, dijo asquerosamente nuevo y nos colgó. Un par de semanas anteriores, pedimos comida para llevar y varios de los artículos que faltan. De nuevo, cuando llamamos para consultar, nos hablan de la horrible. También se constató en pelo uno de los platos. Servicio absolutamente vergonzoso.

Although the food is nice the service is appalling my family have ordered from this take away on numerous occasions and they do not tell you when ordering that you have to wait 1 and 1/2 hours for delivery and on another occasion they got my order wrong and when I phoned to explain i was told i got it wrong although I order the same meal the woman was very rude and said it was my fault. i asked for the meal to be changed and they were too busy to deliver. Will not be ordering from them again.

After returning from holiday with no food at home, was searching for a takeout that could be delivered. Found this takeout by chance and after reading previous reviews thought I'd take a chance. Ordered set meal for one... That was a good start as no other takeout I know of does banquets for one! You can choose you main course from a choice of many, which is also a plus. Food arrived quickly and was delicious...it was hot, very tasty and not at all greasy. Will definitely be ordering from Tasty China again

Called in tonight (a race night in chester) so wanted something quick n tasty to take home. I chose thai green vegetable curry and partner had mixed vegetables with ginger n spring onions, both with boiled rice. Cooked to order, great friendly staff n only waited 5 mins. What a treat when we got home, all fresh veg, very tasty ginger n onions. Thai green curry I wasn't sure about as it was more of a thin sauce rather than green curry thick sauce n was very sweet tasting. Overall food very good, will be back for more

Took a chance on ordering takeaway whilst on holiday. ...wow! 4 hungry picky women happy and full... everything was piping hot and tasty.. delivered within 40 mins on a Saturday evening during the races too... great food, great service

My local Chinese in the CH1 area and everything I've tried is fantastic. Staff are really friendly and the prices are great too. Would definitely recommend the beef chow mein or the sweet and spicy noodle box.

Well what can I say but superb! We have been looking for somewhere that serves really good chinese food for a while and have tried many recommend places only to feel dissapointed. I have passed here several times and tonight tried it for the first time. I have to say I am a huge fan of the shanghai in hoole as the food is alway top drawer. But I have to say tonight's take out would give the shanghai a run for its money. Very fresh and tasty. Delivered in super quick time. And super value for money. I would definitely recommend you to try it. Thanks tasty china we will be back

Struggling to find a Chinese in the Chester area. Wanted delivery but we live too far away so went for collection. From starters to mains everything was superb. Food wasn't greasy and the chicken in the curry was proper chicken. Not the diced/slimy chicken you find in some chineses.

Good, tasty chinese food and reasonably priced. The Singapore Noodle Box was particularly tasty with a bit of spice. The food was delivered on time. We have never eaten from here before but would use again.

We ordered a takeaway while parked up in our motorhome. Delivery came within half hour and all three meals were very tasty. Big thumbs up from 3 of us.

After a long day my fiancé and I came here for a takeaway. I was craving lemon chicken and chow mein. It was delicious! I often go to Sea Breeze takeaway, but the chow mein and lemon chicken seem much fresher and tastier here in my opinion. It's worth it. I will be back as I really enjoyed my meal.

Bang on! The menu was comprehensive, be careful not to choose too much! We just made the minimum order for free prawn crackers, and we could not finish the delicious meal we ordered!!The delivery took less than 30 mins to arrive. Huge recommendation, these folk were bang on!
