Hands down the best Chinese food in Chester by a country mile and at the best price point as well .. never a bad meal

Me and my wife come here all the time, owner always has a good chat with her although both speak Mandarin so I never understand a word lmao. Food is bang on 10/10.

How can any credible Chinese takeaway fail to produce a decent chicken curry? The chicken curry I’ve just had was so bland and the chicken like rubber - boiled. Hoole so needs a decent chinese takeaway but this place isn’t it!

Just had Sesame Prawn toasts, Beef Curry and chips. Stunning. Great portions and very flavoursome Could not fault it

Very disappointed in the service tonight. Went to collect our food and checked everything was in there as our last delivery was missing a meal and I wasn’t able to get through on the phone to ask for it to be brought out again. Explained this to the lady and her response was “if we don’t answer the phone, we’re busy. You can try somewhere else, you don’t have to come here.” Oh wow! Previous owners would never have said this! Their customer service was brilliant! But thanks for the advice, as we will definitely be going somewhere else from now! Hopefully the next place we try will accept card payments for deliveries!

Absolutely fantastic! Best food I’ve had for a while. Very fresh and super tasty 😋 can’t wait to go again. Do yourself a favour and order from china garden you won’t regret it. Thanks again and compliments to the chef, just incredible.

10/10 scran me and my friends are regulars and the lady always recognises us . she’s really sound and the scran is always fire, go at least twice a week

Chicken portions are huuuuge! Both chicken curry and sweet chili chicken, noodles and chips were tasty and even though it was take away, food was boiling hot when we arrive home. The lady in the front desk was very friendly. Thank you!

Possibly worse food I've ever had. Crisy chicken in lemon sauce is awful. Smells like dishwashers tablets. All going in the bin. Can't believe someone would actually serve this

Fast service by a chatty, friendly staff member. Food was very good, the containers were full to the brim and the prices were reasonable. The Singapore vermicelli is wonderful. Recommended!

I have to say the place was filled with a sickening aroma that made me feel uneasy, the interior is a disgrace and is infested with rattle snakes and rats, nom nom nom, i wouldn’t recommend, the food is a horrific

Never again,Special chowmein was so dry,had 2 pieces meat and 1 prawn that was so hard you could've hurt someone if you threw it at them,apparently if you want chowmein with the sauce you have to ask for wet chowmein otherwise its cooked dry,really?gave 1 star cuz after a row we did get a refund and day after ive got terrible cramps and sickness,AVOID THIS PLACE

Food was great, but did get the order wrong though, ordered roast duck with green pepper and black bean sauce, got some mushroom dish, too far to return, will check order before leaving next time, dont know if/ what the price difference is?!

Called in for a takeaway to be informed that there was no tofu. This was never an issue with the previous owner. Disappointed.

I have been a regular customer of China garden for years, with the new switch to the new owner, i was not let down! Food was on time, super warm, soo tastey and clean plates for all kids and parents. Would reccomend, and will definately be staying regular customers of china garden! Thanks!

First day open I ordered hoping it was going to be good for the first day.I ordered food for a delivery and they said it would be 45 mins and it arrive late the food was disgusting have to throw it away.The old owner food was incredible and now there’s a new owner it is now disgusting this takeaway should close asap

The chicken and sweetcorn soup was so glutenous you could cut it with a knife. I know a veg chowmein isn't exactly the most adventurous of dishes, but it was beyond bland. The chips were reheated oven chips. The best bit was the free fortune cookies. We expected so much more, this was not £20's worth of chinese food ☹️

Slow (almost always an hour later than they estimate!!) also too inconsistent with the quality. We're not going to bother ordering from them anymore

Not difficult customers and I don’t think I’ve ever done a review .. but this can’t be ignored Absolutely appalling attitude from the delivery guy who had a go at us for making him late when he put the wrong post code in as he rang us from a completely different village and then the most horrendous takeaway we’ve ever had .. ordered a fairly normal order of salt and pepper chips boiled rice and king prawns Cantonese .. well my face is on fire .. we’ve between us managed about 4 mouthfuls . I’ve never seen so much chilli and chilli seeds in a meal in my life. Absolutely ruined what was supposed to be a cooking free, relaxing treat evening. Never again ordering from China garden

Driver aggressive and no apology for being nearly an hour late. Cantonese Prawns main meal we had to throw away as it was literally pure chilli flakes. Iv never written a review before but thought i had to on this occasion since the food was so bad and service.

I have just had the Best Vermicelli I have had from any local take away in Chester. Tender meat and well seasoned, Excellent I'll be back!

Delivery driver was lovely, very patient. The food however very disappointing, I can't say I've ever had salt pepper chicken look like that in my entire life as for the chicken chowmein definitely don't order that. Egg fried rice you can't go wrong surely? Well yes clearly you can. Save your money or order elsewhere

Ordered our meal online - instructions very easy to follow. Delivered in 15 mins and was worth waiting for. Food definitely 5 stars and definitely will use them again.

Love this place! We go here about once a month and have never had any issues, the food is always delicious, fresh, generous portions and the staff are always friendly to us.Chicken in capital sauce is my favourite and they do the best prawn toast ever!! Don't be put off by harsh reviews

Had take out from here last night and it was absolutely delicious, fresh tasting and really really lovely. We had chicken cashewnuts, satay beef, ribs, boiled rice and capital sauce with prawn toast. Probably some of the best Chinese take out food I've ever eaten! (And I've eaten a lot!) Felt home cooked rather than your usual greasy take out vibe. Really highly recommend

Real review ,it was too far for me to return .food was very bland and extremely dry £14 for chicken fried rice salt and pepper ribs and a small chips will never go there again . It all went in the bin .

Went for this take away ..wish we hadnt .words cannot say how rubbish this was...didnt get what what we ordered and egg fried rice well ...dont think it had seen a egg ..and chicken well is it chicken..waste of money all went in the bin .id rather starve than eat that

Had food from here on two occasions. First time ordered Kung Po which was tasted decent. Second time ordered Szechuan Chicken which was salty and didn't have much other flavor. Returned it for something different, Garlic chicken which was less salty but still not up to scratch.

This is the greatest Chinese I've been, been here for years its the greatest, service is good and the food is good, recommended always the best

Avoid if you value your health.. I was approached at the counter by a guy in an absolutely filthy top and trousers when I suggested he should wear clean clothes as he handles food and serves peoole he just started shouting that I had no money!! 😳 Avoid this place for your own health benefits.

Ordered from here 3 times by three different people in the family and every time they forget something then make out your lying. Incompetent and only average food. Better places to order from avoid China garden

We have been ordering from here since November as a family of four and on 4 different occasions they have missed items or got our order wrong resulting in us having to spend ages on the phone each time as they questioned to the point where it felt like we were being accused of lying, when all we wanted was for our missing items to come so we could all eat as a family with no one missing out as it always ends up with someone sat there mealless. We have spent nearly £300 on this place in the last two months and after tonight I will never order again, they do not respect valued customers and would rather lose a customer than admit and correct their mistakes. Stay away from this place at all costs Sheridan wok and grill is by far better quality food and service

Excellent food, however ordering and collection of your takeaway is far from smooth Firstly you are served by young children.... Requested food to be ready for collection in 20/30mins, came to collect and order hadn't even been done so had to wait another approx 10 - 15mins again front desk manned by young children this was at approximately 10pm! Food was very good but ordering very disorganised.... Live locally and use here alot does always take a while to get your order but today was ridiculous...😡

Ate here a few times on my last visit to Chester, the food is outstanding (I loved the double cooked chips !)

Y mi arroz cocido con huevo es de color huevo (se está ahogando en un tinte alimenticio amarillo) pero eso es todo. . . lo pondremos a prueba y nunca pediremos comida de aquí nuevamente. Great food. Kung pow is amazing - not like anywhere else. Lemon chicken is also a good meal. Service is always good too and very efficient!

Great food. It's not riddled with MSG or oil / fat, which is probably why some people below don't like it. Hoole knows better. Tasty, clean, friendly!

Vine aquí el viernes por la noche y pedí 2 comidas arroz y patatas fritas, el precio era excelente 14! La comida no era de buena calidad, las salsas eran muy suaves, las verduras eran sólidas y la carne estaba llena de grasa. Simplemente no era de buena calidad, especialmente cuando hay tantos otros lugares increíbles para ir en Chester y Hoole. Es una pena porque acabamos de mudarnos a la zona. No volveremos.

Needed a quick takeaway tea & happened to be in Hoole Very impressed with the staff, they were friendly & helpful about meals/ingredients etc Food took a little while but they were very busy with telephone orders & other customers while we waited.

Staff are always willing to help if you'd prefer not to have something in your dish. Always quick and tasty food. Good portion size for the price.

With Sun Do going down hill and the closing of why not takeaway Chester is short of a good Chinese. China Garden is taking on the mantle of best Chinese in Chester. Have had it delivered and it was quick and hot.

In my opinion the most reliable and tastier Chinese take away restaurants in Chester. They get busy on weekends (they're obviously doing something right) so deliveries can take a while but worth the wait. I highly recommend the Sliced Salt and Pepper Chicken.
