Taste of Italy in Edinburgh, City of

We had a nice time at Taste of Italy. The pasta with meatballs and tomato sauce were good, the portion are generous, it feels like home. The pizza was delicious. The waiters are nice and welcoming. We would recommend and would go again if it wasn't our last day in the city!

We were served by Ida she was absolutely amazing. So lovely and was there to cater for us at any point! She is an asset to the restaurant

My friend and I visited the cafe and had a delicious ice cream and glass of coke. My only complaint was that I turned to get something out of my bag the waitress came and lifted the drinks before we were finished with them. She was so quick I didn’t get the chance to say we weren’t finished, also we were still eating when the same waitress came and asked us to pay which I thought was a bit rude.

We ate very well! We had spaghetti bolognese and the sauce was really good!! Very friendly service, Ida made us feel at home! I recommend it!!

My friend and I had drinks in the sun and it was very nice. Our waitress (Anusha) was lovely, super friendly and accommodating.

delicious breakfast and perfectly prepared by the Italian chef Tonino! the whole experience in the restaurant was even more pleasant thanks to the hospitality and professionalism of Ida who served me and my friend with a contagious smile, very attentive to the customer's needs! I highly recommend both for Italians who are in Edinburgh and for other tourists. Very pleasant place!!

Was visiting this place regular (every other week almost) And yes reviewing them before with 5⭐️just 7 months ago… but today I was deeply disappointed and upset with the experience The cooking ingredients as cheese, sausages, olives all those are tasteless and cheap quality now so the food changed considerably and hasn’t tasted as usual, even the chips were tasting as old oil no pleasent at all to eat. The olives definitely same taste as 90p jar ones from Tesco 😓 Very disappointed and definitely will cut it off our family meal place… The tap bear tasted as beer but mixed half with water probably 😖 Some of staff members are nice and friendly some are just rude and fake and treat people like they’re owners of Earth 😣 Very disappointed have to review this way but was very sad to go through this today 🙈

Ate here on Wednesday 23rd April around 6pm. Extremely busy but we were seated very quickly. Staff were run off their feet but managed to remain upbeat and welcoming. Ida brings a great atmosphere to the place and is clearly managing it very well. As busy as she was she still to time out to chat. Anousha what an absolute credit to the team ...very efficient and just didn't stop. Had a brief chat with her as we paid the bill ...what a lovely girl 5 🌟 for you Anousha keep up the good work. Shame we didn't get to see your Highland dancing...maybe next time.

Service was amazing, Ida sorted us out with a very tight turnaround before Moulin Rouge and had the biggest smile on her face the whole time! We’ve had the same 10/10 service every time we have been.

Anousha was exceptional looking after us , giving us excellent service . Love her vibe . We will be back . Oh and the food was pretty awesome too x

Popped in today for lunch and coffee and all I can say is: WOW! Exceptional service, thank you Anousha and Maria for this unforgettable experience at Taste of Italy, will be recommending to friends. If you come try the panini and tomato soup combo, still thinking about it several hours later 😋

Nice cafe with good coffee and delicious food. The waitress Ida served us great. The next day we decided to have breakfast there again but the attitude of the waitresses was just terrible!! We waited half an hour for the bill because one of them was talking to a customer and dancing Scottish folk dances as if she wasn't at work and they couldn't agree who should bring us the bill. We could have left without paying and they wouldn't even understand. And on top of that we had to pay 10% for the service?!?! 😀😀😀

Ada greeted us with the warmest smile and along with Ben, looked after us brilliantly. The Scottish Breakfast was substantial and delicious! I wish we had tried the Gelato as well, as our Hotel Manager recommended it, but we were stuffed! The coffee is really good too! Wished we were staying another day so we could go back again.

Perfect place to eat in Edinburgh 👍 Eggs Benedict for breakfast along with a fresh smoothie. My new favourite BBQ Burger served with a cold Peroni beer. For desert - a lovely homemade Tirimasu along with the best Chai Latte I have ever tasted Friendly and professional staff 👏 I you are to eat all your meals in one place (in Edinburgh) - look no further. Taste of Italy is it!

Vino con mi familia anoche por comida muy necesaria después de un largo día. No solo era la comida genial, sino que el personal era tan encantador y acogedor y se esforzó por ayudarnos. The atmosphere is always great, and everyone's welcoming. Chips with cheese sauce were just the thing we needed after a day on our feet. The music is great, and the staff are fantastic. Anoushka is warm and friendly and really made our day!

As a regular customer for years, I always have a good experience here, great food and super friendly staff. Shout out to Lupe and Ida.

Just went to drop my CV for work. I had hard copy just had to give to the manager that's it. She was super rude they had no tables still she was like it's very busy and I cannot take it (in worst italian rude way possible). If you cannot handle pressure then you shouldn't be manager, if that's how you communicate then you shouldn't be manager. Ps there where 3 waiters roam around doing nothing so clearly wasn't busy.

We had coffee and a panini, Coffee were amazing, really rich and hot. The panini’s where amazig the pesto and chicken one is definitely not to be missed. Finally the reason it’s 5 stars is because of the service! They are always attentive and so kind! We were served by Maria and anouska they made our day ☺️

think I've found my absolute favourite italian place in the whole of uk! such good food, so many options, amazing serving sizes and dessert too! staff were friendly and helpful and the place offers lots of halal options as well, definitely will be visiting many more times again :)

Me cuesta ver cómo este café tiene una calificación tan alta. Vivimos en Edimburgo y vinimos a principios de semana para un café y un aperitivo. No estaba muy ocupado. Elegí un asiento por la ventana como área trasera un poco más ocupado y la música bastante alta. La señora servía era agradable, pero no estaba muy concentrado. Pedimos una bebida caliente cada uno y panini para compartir. Las bebidas llegaron bastante rápido. Mi café estaba bien de temperatura, compañeros solo estaba caliente. Tenía la esperanza de que sería un buen café italiano .. especialmente pagando alrededor de £ 4 la taza. Estaba realmente decepcionado nada emocionante. Esperábamos a que llegaran nuestros panini... nada... el lugar no estaba ocupado. Habíamos terminado nuestras bebidas y habíamos decidido que solo pagaríamos por las bebidas y nos olvidaríamos de los panini. . asumimos que habían pasado tanto tiempo. Entonces llegó. Quemado en un extremo. A simple vista deberíamos haber dicho que no lo queríamos. Pero su compañero tenía hambre, así que comió. El resto estaba bien, pero de nuevo nada emocionante. Cuando pagamos la cuenta, ¡la sumaba alrededor de 16 libras! El precio del panini era casi el doble de precio si te sientas en que sacar. Ahora estoy feliz de pagar si la calidad y el servicio está allí, pero esto se sintió como una estafa - fuera ... realmente es una trampa turística. Lamentablemente no volvimos, especialmente cuando fui a usar el inodoro, uno de sus chefs salió del inodoro para discapacitados y estaba claro que no se había lavado las manos.

Staff are very welcome to you coming in the door and when seated the food is just amazing and the price is very good for what you get if your in the area its 100% worth going here I was served by fabiana with a nice smile and so helpful you won't be disappointed with this 5+ star

Popped in off the street before a late train home. Fairly priced and tasty. Was quiet on that evening. A tasty genuine pizza.

Food was great! We ordered one of the specialties there called Calzone, it was surprisingly good! You can go with the classic pasta for sure but they can also be made with custom sauces or whatever you want your pasta like! Either be with cream or tomato sauce, wish mushrooms or anything else! You name it, they serve it. Perfect authentic Italian food.

Very friendly cafe with excellent food and prices, especially considering the location. Great menu with lots of choices too. Highly recommend the panini menu (its worth asking for this you are early, as they have still served us even when it was only breakfast menus initially put out). Full disclosure - we never ate in this restaurant. We were on a quick trip to Edinburgh and stayed at a nearby hotel. We were heading back from a long coach trip and just wanted to grab some food to take back to the hotel so decided to grab a couple of pizzas to go. Best pizza ever. The next day we were heading back after being out hiking all day and didn’t feel like getting freshened up and going back out so we picked up 3 pasta meals and 3 cannolis to take back to the room - deliciousness overload. Our final night in Edinburgh we grabbed 3 separate desserts as a late night treat. Unbelievable! Staff were so helpful and friendly. The joint was hopping with a great atmosphere. And the food was top notch.

This restaurant serves up a warm, tasty meal promptly and with a smile. My vanilla latte was perfect and I enjoyed my first experience with beans & toast!

Lovely retro place with very friendly staff and attention to details. Paper napkins with your order. Excellent coffee. A little taste of chocolate spread at the bottom of your cup will make you enjoy the cappuccino even more. A little flower on the whipped cream side of your cake will enhance your aesthetic experience. And even a cold and windy day is more enjoyable.
