Came here as part of a Globus tour and thought we would be in a back room with a limited menu. To our surprise we were in a prime table (16 of us) and had a wonderful meal. Salmon appetizers, sea bass and gelato. Overall we all thought it was great!!!

Great food as always, my friend and i thoroughly enjoyed our meals and good service, my only gripes would be that we had several empty glasses lying in our table for a while, but otherwise the lad serving was friendly and chatty. And our table position wasn't the best.

Great food, good value and the attentive staff made my son's 21st birthday a really good night. Loved the candle in the dessert and the happy birthday written in the sauce on the plate and singing happy birthday made him suitably embarrassed. Job done!

We visited on Saturday evening, myself and 5 friends. It was to celebrate my birthday and to be quite honest it was a very unpleasant experience. To say the service was extremely slow is an under statement. We arrived at 19:30 and still didn’t have our main meals by 21:00. The food arrived just as we were about to call it a day. The steak was cold and the pasta tasted like it was a reheat of a frozen meal. One of my friends asked for hers to be boxed to takeaway because she had lost her appetite. Fair enough we were offered free desserts but unfortunately it was nearing 21:15 and we had lost all patience by this point. The only positive of the experience was our waitress Danielle who provided excellent customer service throughout. Oh, and the cocktails were lovely. The female staff member with the blonde hair was very rude. The male manager who came over to the table to discuss the problems we were having was not very understanding either. A very poor and unpleasant experience.

Enjoyed the Sunday roast , always look forward to a meal at Gustos .Reece looked us perfectly !! Thankyou

Ask for Meghan! Our first night in Edinburgh could not have been better. We rolled into the restaurant fairly late and glad they were still serving. Meghan greeted us immediately, gave suggestions on dishes as well as wines - all of which were excellent! Even though we were there a bit after closing finishing our meal, she made sure we felt comfortable and not rushed. When she heard it was our first time in Edinburgh, she was happy to provide suggestions... what we did not expect was for her to come back with a little list of Meg's favorite things (pubs, bakery, speakeasy, bars, etc.)! We enjoyed our meal so much, we ended up going over there ANOTHER night for supper - and again she treated us to the same lovely service. Everything we ordered was delicious! If I lived in Edinburgh, I could see this being my regular spot for supper!

I’ve been working away, so on a budget, however my service with the Gusto team was amazing. Food was fabulous, and ALEXANDRA was soo… helpful and attentive. This is my 3rd time back to Gusto, so your TEAM are definitely pulling in the right direction!

Great Italian food with gluten free options

Italian food restaurant. Being Latina, I really appreciate finding a place where the kitchen is open at 9 p.m. I arrived just before they closed, without a reservation, and I had no problem ordering some pasta, very delicious. The drinks menu was extensive, I really liked the one I ordered. I had a problem with the waiter due to a language barrier and he was very kind to solve it. I really liked this place, pleasant experience. Price according to the area in which it is located.

I have been a fan of Gusto since it opened in Edinburgh. The food in all that time is consistently good as is the service. Though we all enjoy Italian food for pizza and pasta ( and they are both excellent at Gusto), the other mains are delicious and worth venturing into. Chicken breast pan fried with thyme and also the duck breast are superb.

Another great meal with exceptional service at Gusto Edinburgh! No quibbles about replacing glass of wine that I accidentally knocked over - and at no cost to me.

First time here and we will definitely be back. Everything was superb from start to finish. Only complaint and surprise was that it was my birthday and I was presented with a small dessert with a candle etc which wasn’t asked for and was a nice surprise, but when I got the bill I had been charged £2.50. Didn’t want to make a fuss but it did taint the visit.

Excellent meal and service for our very large group of choristes who had just sung at the Fringe. Food was well presented and very tasty. Staff attentive and always polite.

Very friendly and accommodating

A large modern swish Italian restaurant with loads of atmosphere. Service by the staff was excellent. Food and portions were ok. Don’t go for their cheapest Merlot, probably the worst Merlot I’ve ever had!!

We had a very nice meal. The restaurant was very busy and the waitress was excellent. The food was good....no complaints although my wife had the vegan steak (for the third time!) and for £22.50, there could have been more potatoes, veg etc. I had the vegan pizza which was really nice. The vegan Biscoff cheesecake was lovely but again fairly pricey at £8.50

As we settled at our table, we were greeted by Alex, our server for the evening. Despite a bustling crowd, Alex managed her responsibilities with poise and grace. Her friendly attitude and attentive service added to the overall enjoyment of our dining experience. It was evident that both Abbie and Alex took pride in their work, ensuring every customer felt welcomed and well taken care of. The food at Gusto was equally delightful, with a diverse menu that catered well to various preferences. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a memorable meal. It comes as no surprise that Gusto has quickly become our go-to restaurant, thanks to the impeccable service and delicious fare.

Server super helpful and the restaurant is great if you have allergies: everything is flagged in the menu, so that when they order it will say of you can't eat something. If you are sharing allergen items come in separate bowls and the server brought us a spare plate without asking or forgetting. Altogether a super visit.

We had a great experience at Gusto Edinburgh. Really impressed with the vegan options and Simon was a very friendly and attentive. We'll be back!

Food was good quality with good flavor. I enjoyed the carbonaro. I do not recommend the cheesecake. I love cheesecake, but what you get is very small and just not great. My friend really enjoyed the truffled mushroom fettuccine, said it was 5 stars.

Really good food and excellent, fast service. Made for a really special date night. I had the bruschetta starter, rigatoni Arrabbiata and the bombolini for dessert - all of which were delicious.

Beautiful anniversary meal, food is amazing and staff are friendly, efficient and clued in on menu with recommendations and helpful with queries. I have been visiting Gusto since it was Est Est Est, 18 years ago and as a family we have visited so many times. Value for money, quality of food and a consistent service is hard to rival!

Having dined on a number of occasions it is an easy option to say yes to going back. The food is good and tasty. The atmosphere and decor is elegant and polished. All things you would expect from a George Street eatery... The stand out for me though is the staff and their welcoming, friendly attitudes. They have been engaging and attentive without being intrusive. Small things, like complementing my daughter's manners when she said thank you and smiling at a terrible dad joke really make all the difference! I look forward to visiting again! 😊 (The upside down map in the photographed mirror made me want to turn it the right way up! 😂)

Gusto Italian is a contemporary, popular restaurant close to the west end of George Street. In the main area there is a long table suited to large groups and I can imagine it can get quite noisy. On my visit I was at one of the tables immediately outside which was very pleasant. The food was all delicious from the starter of Bruschetta and Bajed Focaccia to the main dishes of Large Seabass, Scallop Ravioli, Duck Balsamic. The Hugo Spritz cocktails went down well too! There is also a good selection of beers and wines. The service was very grand we were well looked after by Simon.

Charming servers and bartenders, with excellent variations on Italian cuisine. Only hiccup was long waits between courses. But that's probably a symptom of American impatience within a European time zone.

Ate here on our last night in Edinburgh & loved it! Highly recommend. Our waitress Alexandra was so sweet & attentive. Me & my mom shared the rigatoni arrabbiata while also getting the focaccia bread as well as a caesar salad.

Great pizza, great service We went to Gusto for dinner our first night in Edinburgh after a day of travel. We were seated and given menus quickly. My husband wanted a glass of red wine and our server, Simon offered him a sample taste before ordering. It was a great choice. We shared a Caesar salad and a Carnivore pizza. The food arrived promptly and both were delicious. It was exactly what we needed after a long day. The service was great despite the restaurant being busy. Definitely recommend.
