Large venue with loud noise. Despite that, cozy and pleasant. We were 4 people 2 were really satisfied with our choices of dishes. The other two were dissatisfied, among other things, the risotto was totally tasteless. Got a deduction on the bill for that dish but unfortunately one of us went home still hungry.

Extremely disappointed in this Restaurant We were told we had two hours for our meal , just when we ordered our wine they came and asked if we could skip starter and dessert 🫣as they wanted the table , actually couldn’t believe the cheek of them . Food was nice but definitely would not recommend this restaurant was more like a conveyor belt !! Definitely misses personal touch!! Shame

They used to have an incredible lasagne but recipe was changed recently. Not impressed. Service charge makes me feel uncomfortable and I hate it when it's added to the bill by default.

A great culinary experience in a beautiful location with friendly and attentive staff. The atmosphere in the evening is lively and energetic, which ensures a certain level of noise as many guests enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.

Delicious food and amazing attention from our waitress Hikary who kindly explained us the menu and recommended us some fabulous starters and desserts.

Get to the top 5 pizzas ever by throwing. Really good down to the dough. I recommend this place to everyone. It is worth making a table reservation also during lunch time.

We were late getting there (near closing time) and nothing was a problem. Love this llace. Well worth a visit if you're visiting edinburgh. Suggest to book if its the weekend though. Very popular restaurant 👌

In the central location, an excellent place. Sober, elegant, very spacious. I ate a pizza which I must say had nothing to envy of an Italian pizza, other diners ate first courses which were also excellent.

Went with a friend today and we had not booked, but they managed to fit us in. We both had an excellent pizza and very tasty. Friendly staff and good service. Highly recommended and will be returning.

Spontaneous meal was perfect 👌 With some time to kill before catching a train i had a quick dinner at Amarone. I was pleased to find the service was as good as Aberdeen. Francesca looked after me well and the food was delicious. I had the Cod with crushed potatoes and braised cabbage.

We went out for a family meal after a day of sightseeing. The food and service were excellent. The vegetarian pizza and the linguine were particularly tasty and the cheesecake was honestly heavenly.

Hosted approximately 20 business colleagues here during the evening. Whilst we were asked to order off a set menu nobody had any complaints about their food, and the service was good and the venue is great and just of Princes St

We came here on the recommendation of our hop-on hop-off tour guide and we were not disappointed at all :) The food was perfect and the staff was incredibly kind and helped our dietary needs with care. Plus the ambiance was also super elegant.

Always loved Amarone, as they do a lot of GF pasta and pizza bases. Food is very tasty and well priced. But this time I found out that the pasta is GF and vegan! Why is GF always lumped together with vegan ??? The pasta is not nearly so nice, it's hard and gritty. Whereas, GF only pasta tastes the same as normal pasta. This annoys me so much. Being Gluten intolerant is not a choice. Veganism is !

Dined here to celebrate my brothers birthday with some family and friends. We split a £386 bill between 10 of us at £40 each, & 2 paid £20. I also paid a £50 deposit. Thats a total of £490 which we were happy to pay as the service for such a large group was outstanding - hence the 2 stars or it would be none as the food wasn’t the greatest. After the majority of our group had left we were made aware there was still £30 outstanding. Thinking maybe someone had left without paying by accident we paid the remaining amount & left. However, since speaking with the group - it’s apparent we have been extremely overcharged & there was Infact not an outstanding amount. The Carbonara was dry & more cheesy than any Mac & cheese I’ve ever tried, the gluten free pasta was absolutely horrendous due to the crumbling gritty taste. The arribiata was extremely undercooked, & that’s coming from an al dente pasta lover! The chips were made from potatoes covered in black bits & the whole portion contained about 3 edible chips if you were lucky. Peppercorn sauce was the highlight of the food dishes. Again, the service we received from the waiters serving our table was outstanding & extremely accommodating to our large group.

Italian restaurant amongst a few other high end restaurants. From the front, the restaurant looks very classy, I walked through the entrance of the restaurant and it was very nice, clean, shiny laminate floors, it was bright and a big open space, with fancy lighting. The seating plan was fancy too, with booths and table/chairs nicely spread out. I thought I was underdressed to eat here ! The server explained my table would only be available for two hours, which was fine as I didn't book, they then walked me around the laminate floor section of the restaurant to the side of it and this is when my high expectations changed.. The floor was now carpeted, the tables were Wetherspoon-esque, cramped and non-classy. They could have done with a bit of sanding too. They were a little bit tatty, cramped with an empty pepper and salt grinder, a little candle and a drinks menu and wine glasses. Not enough room for your drink, main and a side. Considering I had only two hours on my table, there was over ten other tables unseated, and continued to be unseated for the duration of my meal. Two hours is plenty but I felt like I had to still rush, just incase. Thus I didn't order a starter because I may have gone over my two hour limit. Waiters were quick to come over and take my order, I had a Mojito, Carbonara ( with guanciale ! Which a lot of restaurants don't do) my friend had a mango sour and the breaded chicken with spaghetti (chips and salad if you don't want spaghetti) My mojito was very, very strong, it's as if they didn't use the sugar syrup ( so Rum, soda , mint leaves and lime slice ) this is my favourite cocktail and I just couldn't drink it. I had water on the table so I was fine with drinking this instead. My friends mango sour was ok.. but it was thick, like a smoothie, so possibly whizzed up in the processor with ice? My carbonara and garlic bread came after about 20/25 minutes after ordering. It was hot, and tasty, but after about 5 minutes then sauce separated and resembed scrambled egg. The guanciale wasn't what I expected, it was chewy, got stuck in my teeth and one piece of it was fatty and oily, I had to subtly put this into a napkin 🙈 My friend's chicken was nice, crispy and juicy, she told me her spaghetti was ok, just basic tomato sauce, nothing fancy. The garlic bread was good, nice, hot and cheesy. I think if I did go back, I'd book, I'd ask to sit in the front entrance in a booth and I would order a starter, I would also try a pizza, because the man who was sat next to me (in touching distance if I stretched my arm out) had a very fancy looking one.

I was with a large group and the service was perfect. It can be difficult dealing with that many people but the staff got drinks, water, orders and all food to the right people with no dramas. Nothing was too much trouble and we left with smiles on our faces. I'll be back!

I took my daughter there on Tuesday 15th October as I had been there before .the starter which was bruschetta was soggy and 1 piece . We both had carbonara which was too salty and my daughter hardly got any on her place compared to me. I ordered a second drink which never came . I was disappointed with the meal and the service as it was a special birthday . The only thing that went well was the staff singing happy birthday to her .

Excellent Italian food. Good cocktails with lots of choice Service was fine but at a certain point it all happened very quickly, as if in minutes. It's a bit of a feeling that you are being forced out. Atmosphere is good, nice tent.

We visited last week my hubby is coeliac he was well looked after and the food was really good fresh and tasty they were very knowledgeable about his condition ,she regarding my vegetarian options,it was so good we booked for the following evening with the. Same service. Thank you.

Great food, especially the carbonara and the pizzas. The gluten free pizza is also quite good, and it’s nice that all pizzas r available gluten free. The starters r a bit expensive but are great. The desserts r also good just a bit too expensive

Incredible food , beautiful setting and the service is top notch you would think you had a waiter per table ready to top up your drinks.

Fab place, pleasantly quiet to eat at 4 pm, as it can get really noisy due to high ceiling and no sound deadening, later on when busy.

Our meal was 28/09/24 5pm. Got there st the allocated time for our large group booking. The place was very, very busy. Some of the diners at our table arrived a few minutes after us. Those who arrived a matter of 5 mins after us were given literally minutes to choose from the menu. They say you should advise of any allergies , I did and was given the gluten free menu. On questioning the server on what options I had being dairy and gluten free I was told to wait for the allergy index. At that point I'd lost all confidence in what would be my dinner.... I said I'd like the tomato and basil pasta without the cheese - turns out the sauce was pre made and I couldn't have this. I ended up with arabiatta gluten free pasta. My choice was rushed as when I asked for a few more minutes I was bluntly told 'well everyone else has already ordered ' as he stood over me. When my dish arrived it was just warm, so spicy I struggled to eat it - and I like spicy food!! The pasta was almost raw it was so hard. Two of the other diners sent back spaghetti carbonara's because they were inedible with the amount of salt in them. I could have sent mine back but then what would I have eaten 🤔😅 literally would not waste my time or money in here. It felt more like an overpriced McDonald's than a George street eatery. The atmosphere was chaotic and very noisy, everything felt like too much to ask our server. Never again.

Service would have been amazing had it not been for a very rude obnoxious server named Ava however this was a stark difference to the excellent service given by the staff member Max he remembered everyone's order which was a great feat for a group of 18 he also made the atmosphere better, the food was a low score due to a forced set menu which wasn't to everyone taste but Max was very helpful with assisting me in my allergies. So not great for big groups if you are booked in groups of 6 and you have a better choice. The food was basic Italian but not good quality so maximum for this would be 3 stars.

We tried their Margherita pizza and Arrabiata pasta We loved them both, the pasta was a little spicy. We ordered the mohito, which was sweet, but the peach juice was regular Their service is fast, a reservation is required, but unfortunately we had an empty table. They asked if our dishes to share could be shared for us or served as usual. We asked for them to share them for us as in the pictures. Note that the restaurant contains alcoholic drinks and is crowded and the noises are loud. Some people may not like this atmosphere. I wrote it for the benefit

Nice restaurant, nice atmosphere, but I recognized that all individuals were brought to a long table and sat next to each other where you could watch pizzas being made though many tables were free. I would not recommend the restaurant for individuals as there is no appreciation here…

Lovely place to eat. Food was not cold but not hot. Service was excellent. So good with my daughter and her gluten intolerance.

Came with family for an early dinner. Food was ok as usual. We come here regularly. However the last two times we have encountered a very poor attitude when being asked for the service charge to be removed. Staff immediately became stiff and asked us why and if there was anything wrong with the service. Management please address this. When people ask for a service charge to be removed this should be done without making the client feel embarrassed or in the wrong. Not sure who you have training staff to act all wronged and demanding an answer to a basic request.

My brilliant Daughter in Law booked this place for our family supper before going on to the tattoo. What a treat it was. Food hreat, service lovely, very clean, great value...it was really a lovely experience. Our whole time in the city was outstanding, this restaurant was one of the highlights. Thankyou one and all. Beautiful place but bad food. I had the Lasagna, it looked worse than cat food and tasted stale. Maybe other dishes are better. But AVOID the lasagna.

I feel like recommending this Italian cuisine place, being Italian myself, as we ate really well and the quality of the products seemed high. Excellent pizza, practically Italian with a gas oven. Excellent first courses cooked as if we were in Italy. I would like to point out the presence of sausage with fennel on the pizza, my favourite. Very nice place indeed, nice and frequented by locals. Very fast and quality service considering that we went there on a Saturday evening. Super recommended if you want to eat Italian and are in Edinburgh. Fair price for the quality of the food.

This bustling modern restaurant staged in a beautiful grandiose building is a must for those looking for a "fancy" night out without breaking the bank. The friendly staff catered to our every need with professionalism and the food was devine. Highly recommend.

Love this place! The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food was beautiful and even though the restaurant was at full capacity we didn't have to wait to long.

We came here for a pre-Christmas meal. Excellent 3 course menu at £34. Most people didn't seem to have chosen that menu. The restaurant was really busy. We had a table in the centre. Glasses of prosecco only £6 each and bottles of wine £23, so al good value. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we will be back.

We ate here two nights in a row because it was that delicious. The best lasagna I’ve had in my life! The carbonara was delicious as well. Friendly service, amazing atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Had an amazing experience here!.. the staff, the food, the ambience, everything was unreal. We met our wonderful hostess Colleen (Chloe lol) who we met previously in the day, who was so accommodating, very friendly and went above and beyond for us! Thank you to all the staff who were efficient and friendly on what was a very busy evening during the Edinburgh fringe. An absolute must in a trip to Edinburgh
