Taste of India in Bromley

Was mine and my family’s favourite local cuisine. We miss it very much! The customer service and food was always the best.

Does anybody know if they're going to re open? Outstanding service and wonderful food always. Greatly missed.

One of the best indian resturent in the heqrt of the city of croydon... We really enjoyed the onam sadya.. Literally felt the authentic taste of kerala onam sadya... Many thanks to N Potty chettan... 5/5

Great food for the price, hope it re-opens.

Both my Father and I have dined at Taste of India many times over the last 20 years and their local reputation, service and food is second to none. They are one of the few restaurants that don’t deliver but when dining in on a Friday or Saturday night you can tell how popular snd well established they are just by the amount of people that travel to the restaurant to collect their favourite currys and you’ll see they are busier with collections than any local take away. I would suggest the previous poster takes up his issue with the Taste Card people before slurring Taste of Indias’ name in these reviews. I would rate the integrity of the owner managers at this establishment without question and they are certainly far from liars! Do not hesitate in enjoying a great evening at Taste of India you will not be disappointed! 👍

This restaurant is terrific, very good food, staff and ambiance. Sadly since Covid this restaurant has been closed, this for me was the best Indian Restaurant in my area. I hope it reopens.

Been here several times. Great restaurant, excellent food, good value for money, Staff friendly. Food is freshly prepared so takes time to cook but well worth the wait.

Best Indian by a mile lovely staff

It's a rare place that makes me bother to leave a review, but this place is exceptional. I just want to congratulations chefs for such a fantastic food they serve. The best Biryani ever, ingredients were so fresh ! I can highly recommend!!! I am so glad I have discovered this place, one dish wasn’t listed but they still made it for me ! This is an excellent customer services !

This is one of several indian restaurants located in Elmers End so why choose this one?. This is a more traditional curry house menu, relatively small in size. There is a nice pleasant atmosphere inside. The waitor service was friendly without being over fussy and the staff were also helpful and informative about their menu and the relative strengths and hotness of their food. It is moderately priced and so is good value for money. The dishes we ate were excellent, tandoori chicken and chicken khorai. The quality of the ingredients were excellent and were spiced and cooked well and served hot. The side orders were also enjoyable including sag and bhrindi bargi and the portion sizes were ample. They had a good range of beers to accompany our curry and you can order halves, if you wish. The cost was reasonable with a voluntary additional service charge, well deserved. Therefore, I would recommend this place as a very pleasant moderately priced, enjoyable traditional Friday curry night out.

Awful service, very rude waiters, buffet set up is ridiculous.

Love this Indian restaurant. The King Prawns are succulent and juicy. The chicken dishes are with quality meat and plentiful in quantity. Dhansak, my favourite is clean consistent and very well cooked. The texture is the perfect blend of sauce and lentils with bite. We love the mushroom cocktail starter and the Lamb chops are recommended too. The atmosphere is always polite, warm and friendly and we feel welcome there. Recently started bringing the 5 yr old twins. One is fussy and there is a small and tasty English menu to fall back on while her palate develops. The other loves the mushroom rice, lamb chops and butterfly prawn Puri. We will be loyal customers for some time to come.

This so called Indian Restuarant is the worst I have ever been too, and I have eaten at 100's over the years, as well as spending a lot of time in India and eating authentic food there. Service is appalling, the food is tasteless, and when I complained about the mushroom chat, I was told that they serve theirs dry and add margarine!!! Avoid this resturant if you want decent authentic Indian food.

Sunday lunchtime curry. What could be better?! We were meeting friends who suggested this restaurant as it was well known to them. The set price buffet was delicious with options available for this who eat meat and for those who do not. Recommended.

I have visited this lndian rfestaurant for many years. The service and food is excellent. No wonder here has won awards for best restaurant.

First time having the food but it very tasty and full of flavour. I had the Chicken Tikka Masal, Sag Baji and coconut rice. Popadoms come with dips too. A garlic yogurt type, mango chutney and some chopped onions, cucumber, tomatoe mix.

Food and service was great though the juice tasted like it was watered down. We maybe ordered too much food but thoroughly enjoyed it all, especially the chilli calamari dish as a starter.

We always enjoy a meal in The Taste of India. The staff are excellent - very professional, very attentive and the food is delicious. I love this restaurant and all of the staff, I highly recommend and definitely will give 10 out of 10.

It looked like any other Indian Restaurant from outside but Taste Of India is anything but Great service and authentic Indian Flavour. I was wandering with two friends in croydon town searching for something new and get to this place merely by accident parking was offered just a great welcome gesture from the management - friendly staff was ready to welcome with ring of the bell of happiness just hanging next to the front door coupled with incredible spicy aroma - the restaurant had a great range of beers and wine to offer - I settled with Cobra - The perfect match for curry dishes - I went straight for starters - poppadoms with Chutnies and chicken Pakoda - crispy Pakodas were served just in 10 minutes time despite ordered in rush hour - The main course was butter Nan and Ginger chicken - totally different from usual Indian take away taste you ever had ! I did ask to meet the chef who turned out to be 20 years experienced five star rated, who had extensive experience working with top rated Indian restaurants in Delhi - Strongly recommend for a family outing on weekends - I will be going back to check out rest of the menu very soon

Have been going to this restaurant now for many years and have never been disappointed. The staff are wonderful, so polite and the food is delicious and not too expensive. Have tried other restaurant and they are never as good as this one. We don't go anywhere else now when we want an Indian, whether it be eating out or a take away it really is the best!

A group of about 30 of us came here to celebrate a birthday and had their £ 8.95 Sunday. The restaurant was clean and the staff friendly. The buffet was ok, but I was quite surprised to find French fries in an Indian buffet. The buffet included a few vegetarian dishes. One comment - There is only a single toilet for men and another for women. For men there is no urinal, only the toilet. Can have a long wait, if you need to go.

Just had the most gorgeous all you can eat buffet. For £8.95 per person there was still lots of choice and hot fresh dishes. Absolutely matches the quality of the menu choices. Can not recommend it enough !

I have been coming here to eat for years because the food is always top class and the service so friendly M Y wife even organised a firms night out here and is doing so again

myself and 5 friends had a table booked for sat evening and we got there and was seated , we ordered a drink and poppadoms , the restaurant was reasonable busy , then we asked could we place our order , and this is where the rudeness started 5 of us placed our orders and the 6th person was just making his decision when the waitor told him to hurry up as he was busy , we were all taken back by his comments and my friend said to him sorry what did you say and he said the same hurry up I'm busy, well we were astonished to be treated this way , the manager came over and the waitor said he was not rude well he was very rude, by this time 2 other tables had got up and left , they then asked us to pay for the doms not a hope in hells chance . So I would suggest do not go in here if they have more than 5 tables busy as they cannot cope and are extremely rude

We have visited The Taste of India on many occasions Sunday Lunch Buffets together with Saturday nights. The staff are polite, always welcoming every time and engaging with their customers.

I went to this rip off of a restaurant last week with my partner for a buffet. Soon as we sat down the waiter was straight over asking what drinks we wanted before we could get comfortable and settled. My partner ordered a lemonade and they brought her a coke. They did not even bother rectifying the mistake. After finishing our lunch which was most bland and hardly any flavour (apart from the tandoori chicken) we asked for the bill. They charged us £7 for two soft drinks... one which was wrong as I stated before. £7!!!!!! What a complete joke. I could buy 18 cans in a supermarket for that! People there are many other indian restaurants in the area which serve much tastier food and don't rip you off on the drinks. Try them instead.

Hmmm tried the Sunday buffet.....there was a fair selection and some of the food had flavour but not overly impressed. Our drinks order was wrong; I ordered lemonade and got coke and it wasn’t rectified and we were charged £7 for two soft drinks. I’d say give it a miss

Happy to regularly drive over an hour to come home to The Taste of India, just as good as the first time we came. The food is tasty, well prepared, staff friendly, and the portions are never stingy. It is a real home from home. Not worth going anywhere else. Really recommend, come here you won't regret it.

I have lived in Beckenham for a while and for some mad reason not yet treated myself to the splendours of The Taste of India"s very fine cuisine! My three kids descended upon me by surprise on Sunday eve desiring a curry ...after a view from here and review from there we settled upon this establishment ...oh Joy is all i can say ...Chicken tikka Masala as it should be ...Barbecued chicken ...beautiful almondy flavoursome sauce ...Chicken Korai with a little extra ginger ...stunning ...Crispy onion bah jee with a slightly old school lemony sauce ... Heading out for a Indian tonight please look no further ...i won't be!

I come here almost every Friday with family, have done for many years. I can confidently say this is the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to in my life. You can't find a dish you want on the menu, just ask and you'll have it in front of you in no time. The staff are also brilliant, very polite and great people once you get to know them like we do. I defiantly wish there were more than 5 stars because this place deserves them all!

Principales parecían tener un poco más de lo habitual, quizá debido a numerosos pedidos para llevar, el restaurante era sorprendentemente tranquila, pero cuando no todo era buen nivel usual. Nos registramos en forma regular. Los precios son muy buenos aquí - pagamos £100, incluida una gran propina y estábamos llenos y había tenido 8 grandes cervezas cobra. Además de bebidas gratis en el final con "choccies" - encantadora. Yo le daría 4. 5 estrellas si pudiera. Volveremos pronto.

Best Indian I've been to by far!! I drive down from Eltham to eat here aswell as just to pick up a takeaway, the food and service is that good!!! A must try and free complimentary drinks at the end go down well to 10/10

There are many restaurants in Backenham but one of the restaurant is there which is The Taste of India, Truly serve the good,healthy and original Indian traditional food.

Me and my family have been coming to Taste of India for over 10 years and it's by far the best Indian restaurant we have ever been too. Excellent service!! The food is amazing!! Never had a bad meal and would recommend it to anyone. Highly recommended

Not the biggest restaurant and it can get busy with takeaway orders Friday/Saturday evenings, however the food is excellent.... friendly service and worth the wait. We've been going to the taste of India for close on 22 years it never disappoints.
