Taste Of China Angel N1 in Islington

Saw it walking past, and again walking home it was meant to be, awesome. For China put in Szechuan as the lady told me. Absolutely beautiful double cooked pork belly with egg fried rice, without doubt the best Szechuan or whatever Chinese variant I have ever had. Stunning, PS I have been and ate local in Beijing and Xian.

We had amazing service lovely food and great recommendations from the waitress. Highly recommended.cant Waite to come again

The staff are extremely rude and nasty especially the manager is completely evil. The place is not clean and stinks like an abattoir, the toilets were also untidy. Please avoid this restaurant as there are many other much nicer business to support in angel.

Great food, friendly staff. We couldn't eat overly spicy food, so the staff kindly customised the spice level for us. Food is tasty, generous portion as well. All in all, great experience.

I took my mum to this restaurant after an afternoon show at the Sandlers Wells theatre nearby. We didn’t have a reservation and the restaurant was busy but they squeezed us in as we were a table of 2. The food was delicious and my mum said it made her miss the food she had from her childhood in northern China. The food came out quick and the staff was very polite. Such a lovely little place!

Went here as I was staying nearby. The won ton soup was flavourless, crispy won tons looked like they were microwaved, (crispy edges were cold while filling was hot) and the duck stir fry had a good piece of bone in each bit of meat and the sauce was very oily. Overall, disappointing. Would not recommend. Service was fine.

I went for an early supper this evening and had one of the best Chinese meals I have had since living in China. The beef with potatoes, fried egg rice and the jiaozi were great but the most delicious green bean dish I've ever had came out as a surprise. Superb restaurant, lovely staff and great atmosphere. I only live 2 miles away from this lovely little place and will be back incredibly soon.

I cannot speak to the in-store experience but I can say that we had an absolutely terrible delivery experience with this restaurant. They purposely put a low delivery time to entice customers. Then, it took them over an hour to produce the meal. Then, they handed it to the wrong driver. By this time, it was already 2 hours after we ordered. Finally, they refused to reproduce the meal to hand it to the correct driver. In total, we waited for 3 hours on hungry stomachs. Never ordering from or visiting this restaurant. Such poor principles around customer service.

Highly recommend this place visited with family. Great flovours crispy beef, duck and pancake's, king prawn & Ginger and chicken curry. All full of flavour.

The first time I got takeaway here last night it was only because I was in the mood for Chinese and this place was just around the corner from my hotel. I liked it enough to return tonight. They have a large menu and I prefer basic Szechwan so that’s what I got both times. The veggies were crisp and fresh, the meats were tender, and the seasoning was good. It’s not fancy/elevated but well prepared. Recommended.

What a lovely welcome, and tasty quick dinner before theatre trip. We booked online, which was easy and quick and once there, although we arrived early we were able to sit. Tentative service and good range of food including some Chinese delicacies that maybe English tastebuds may say clear of. Plenty choices on offer. Lovely Chinese tea topped up constantly. Veg noodles very fresh and not greasy at all like some Chinese places who get oil wrong. It was so right. Great dim sum too. Highly recommended if pre theatre or passing through. Clean premises too. Worth a visit

Easily the best Chinese in London (I have tried so many). You pay slightly more but its worth it for the quality. Really nice people too if you go in for your food.

Loads of prawns. I picked up a takeaway for my hotel room and really enjoyed it. I wanted a prawn curry which wasn’t on the menu but they sorted it and I also ordered the prawn fried rice. The king prawns in both dishes were large, tasty and there were plenty of them. Will try a sit down meal here next time, the food was really tasty.

We had lunch on a Sunday prior to a Sadlers Wells visit, it’s about a 5 min walk from the theatre and the same from Angel Tube Station. It’s very clean and one can hold a conversation without the next table being involved. The staff were friendly and helpful too. The dishes we ordered were tasty and well presented. The toilet is down a flight of stairs, which of course is not unusual. A very convenient Chinese restaurant. Lots on the menu to chose from. One is bound to find something that will please one.

First time at this restaurant after a recommendation from my mum. Oh my god! Amazing fresh food, first class service! Can’t believe how beautiful it is!!

Had the hotpot with the split spicy and non-spicy sides with the all you can order ingredients. Soooo amazing! I'm stuffed, my lips are burning, and I'm so satisfied! Had the mapo tofu the last time I came and that was amazing, too! Definitely recommend!

We visited tonight before going to Sadlers Wells. The staff are really friendly, with a warm welcome. The food is delicious and the service superb. We will be back.
