China's Taste in Islington

I’ve been getting takeaway from here for a couple years now and I cannot complain, big fan of their salt and chilli chips I also love their lunchbox deal for £6 what a bargain!!

I ordered a takeaway from here but the spring rolls were not nice and the plain noodles had no onion or beansprouts, it was disappointing

Ordered some chips, it was under done though it looked cooked on the outside, tried to eat it but had to throw it away unfortunately. Felt like it was cooked in a rush and not very friendly service either

Annoyingly the website online payment simply doesn't work, even though they encourage this method. Gave the battlers a second star for at least trying.

Rice was overcooked and dry. Chicken balls were hard, overcooked. Not the best Chinese but service is good

Food not of excellent quality, but giving 4 stars due to service and good opening times.

Forget greggs, this place is so much better #supportinglocalbuisnesses

Worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. Meat so dry! Everything was dry! Everything must be pre-cooked as not fresh at all

My favourite Chinese takeout in north London. I get the egg rice with veg and black bean - so yummy. Big portions and decent prices. The staff are so friendly too. Love this place.

Such a good Chinese takeaway - like Chinese takeaways always used to be. I often go for my lunch and it's super tasty and really good value, especially the lunchbox at lunchtime. The chap that runs is friendly when you get to know him and remembers his customers and their tastes! Sometimes I go out with the intention of getting a sandwich for my lunch, see China Taste and the pull to go in is too strong to resist...

Matches that old stereotype the worse the place is the better the food.

Ordered salt and pepper wings instead got breast cut into strips. Very Dry disappointing.

You may experience discrimination.Terrible to say the least!!! Not only did they get the order incorrect they were very rude. As a vegan they had added egg in my meal. Rather than being understanding and apologetic one began to shout. He passed a comment "you people always cause problems". They initially refused to give me my money back and demanded I ordered something else. To top it off the place is unhygienic and the food is just ok.

Delicious. Spur of the moment decision to get something as we were passing. I was craving wings and these were phenomenal. The peppery chilli ones. A flavour sensation. Nice staff too. Conversational. Friendly. It was cash only though which was annoying but there’s a cash machine two doors down. I just don’t like using them.

I have been a customer from here for the past 4 years, and honestly it is my ultimate favourite chinese takeaway. If I could give 10 stars I would. Its the real china taste. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Been a customer of theirs since we moved here 7 years ago. Foods good, priced well, always fresh and very polite to me and my family. Great local takeaway.

Take your paper money and tear it up, cut out the middle man. Revolting seaweed covered in sugar which made it completely completely inedible. Unbelievable. Mediocre vermicelli dish, ok squid. Don’t waste your money. When I rang to complain the owner was rude, interrupted me, asked me why I didn’t return it straight away (er, I only tried it the next day), major attitude problem, which I had already noticed when going in there about a local issue a few weeks ago. Returning his sugar rush seaweed tomorrow. He’s got some attitude and his food is an insult.

The chicken balls are much meatier and now come in small portions 5 or 10. The quality and flavour of the food has improved since last visit. Truly deliciou

Terrible cancelled order with no reason as to why

Only ordered as normal one was closed, no flavour, threw ribs in bin as tough, delivered within 10 mins so not freshly cooked obviously, please try the one in blackstock road hua xin as 100 times better, no sauces added so thank goodness I ordered a curry sauce separately as would have been too dry to eat.

It's like this....Anyone who remembers coming home from a trip And can't wait for a Chinese from there local....the rice is as clean and clear as possible..always always good sign..has not been sitting around..the flavours all taste different.. not all cooked in the one sauce...proper old school Chinese.. Delivery time bang on...definitely the best around...with 30 years of living in Islington not many good ones left

We are not sure what happened here, we always used this Chinese until about 6 months ago when the meal we received was inedible!! Maybe they have a new chef 😩😩😩

We found this Chinese by luck - doing a Google search and lucky we were. We placed a big order ( more than 14 dishes ) and within 25 minutes it was all ready for us to collect - and only just down the road .Well packaged , big portions and piping hot and very reasonably priced . The salted chicken wings , chicken balls and banana fritters were awesome and the classics like the roast duck with pancakes well executed . The whole group rated it the best Chinese they'd had in London and a pleasant surprise !! They threw in fortune cookies and a free surprise dish . Will order again.

Pedí un pollo kung po y fue absolutamente horrible. El pollo en sí era grasos, mucosa y asqueroso. Ni idea de qué parte de un pollo venía y no quiero. incomible. se lanzó directamente en la papelera. No puedo comentar sobre el arroz o la salsa, etc. porque el pollo era de verdad que está mal. No podría ni nos sentimos cómodos ponerla en el tazón de gato.

Really enjoyed & will return. Good portion sizes, great taste. Would recommend beef in black bean sauce, plain chow mein & boiled rice. Their chips and curry sauce are also very nice.

We love this place. Don't be fooled by the standard look of the place outside, the staff are friendly, the food is all cooked fresh taking 10 mins for most orders and is so flavoursome. We eat here far too much and so far everything we have tried is brilliant. Not one to underestimate, if you don't live in Highbury this place will make you wish you did!

I stopped by after work to grab dinner for my girlfriend and I. From the outside, the shop looks normal and there's nothing special to it. When I went inside, I could see the open kitchen and smell really good Chinese food. I ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken, Beef Noodles, Prawn Crackers, Prawn Toast, Mixed Vegetables and Crispy Shredded beef. The customer service was okay and I got my meal in less than 10 minutes. The food was still hot when I got back and it was amazing. It's probably the best Chinese I've had in years. It smelled so good! The ingredients were fresh (not soggy, doesn't taste fake) and the flavours were just right. I loved the food and will definitely recommend to anyone living near Highbury. Thank you China's Taste!

Se in Italia "ristorante cinese" è sinonimo di "cheap" a Londra è leggermente più costoso; per questo consiglio di prendere i menù già pronti perché si risparmia davvero molto. Noi abbiamo preso menù B per due persone a 15pounds e c'erano 2 involtini primavere di carne, 10 crocchette di pollo, riso all'uovo e due tipi di maiale. Diciamo che il cibo era tutto delizioso (in special modo involtini, pollo e riso) anche se non sono rimasto soddisfatto del maiale (ma probabilmente perché non sarebbero state due pietanze che avrei preso al cinese ordinando alla carta). Detto questo... Se abitate nelle vicinanze ve lo consiglio. Have a nice time.
