Great authentic food, the starter platter is very tasty with their freshly baked bread. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place 👍

Avoid this restaurant!!!!! On Sunday 30th March I ordered a lamb kubedeh which cost me £12 and it was the most burnt, dry piece of meat I have ever seen in my life. It was not even edible I sadly had to bin it because I couldn't eat neither could my family. Not only that but there was a chunk of the kebab missing so it was more like 1.5 pieces of kebab rather than two. Anyone who has had kubideh before knows its meant to be a juicy and succulent kebab not dry and hard meat which you could use to hammer wood with. What a waste of money. Avoid this place!

Absolutely scammer with price and amount of food you get. They make promises but always come up with excuses. I ordered here but never again very in genuine restaurant, they rip people off.

The most horrible place I have ever been too I suggest you and your family and friends and the Muslim community to stay away from this place first the service and this was from the owner himself he was so arrogant and keep saying I don't understand like I'm not speaking politely and clear straight forward English, he continues to pretend he don't understand then suggested to me what I was originally asking for, then I waited around 20 mins at the tables for my order then to realize by me getting up as asking where is my food he continues to say I don't understand he thought I had left the shop when I was sitting Right in front of him to be perfectly honest he customer service and outright customer interaction was outrageous and should be open if that how they treat customer service and finally the food came incorrect and hardly any meat and was freezing cold when I attempted to eat it immediately after leaving the shop in my car. I advise anyone not to eat or even entertain such a business run like this and overall from the owner himself just wrong.

AVOID Terrible experience. Paid for a Qabuli Pilaw with side dish and side dish wasn’t delivered. I called the restaurant and they said they can’t do anything about it. This is literally stealing money! They reviewed the order via the app and confirmed that I placed the order and paid correctly and still weren’t willing to complete it. Food was cold and package was not sealed, tasteless as well. Had to order food from elsewhere.

Name changed from Taste of Afghanistan to Shami kabab restaurant. Nice halal food and plenty of seating area. Best dish was Kabuli pulow, tasty rice having good qty meat and comes with vegetable and chutney. Kabab with naan were also good Chicken roast was nice too with fries (best for children) Starter was average because quantity was less (would not order again)

The food seemed two days old and nothing near Afghani food, no meat in qabuli Palau. I am not sure who gave them these 5 stars, very misleading. Please give genuine reviews as people mostly go by the reviews and order food when they don't know much about the place.

It was called taste of Afghanistan before, but Shami kebab is a new management. Food quality, quantity, ingredient and service is not what we used to get from previous management. I may never come again unless the management changes.

Shami Kabob Restaurant is a gem of a place. Absolutely wonderful service from the server and very friendly owner. Everything from the lamb tikka, pulau (rice) to the mint green tea were amazing, so fresh!!

While the lamb chops were slightly dry, the overall quality of the mixed grill was exceptional and left us completely satisfied. A welcome change to Greenford. Halal Afghan/Pakistan food. Having had another change of management in July 2020 we can say the food is good and are looking forward to other parts of the menu. The kabali palou and chaplie kabab are good. The channa average. The nans are good. They don't give salad or sauces. Beware the service is poor. Ordering on the phone and the wait time can be 1 hour. They will serve people who come later and no excuse can make up for the shambles in the kitchen. New management or not, it's the same routine at this place with every management. They have had a change of decor and management in Nov 2020

If really like to taste authentic afghan cuisine then this is the place Once you taste it then you are fine hooked to this place . The taste of Qbali Pelow is out of this world . I just had order of Qabuli Pallow , Ashak and man that was real taste , well cooked .The Chetney is so tastes well done as it feel it left marinated for weeks as it doesn’t taste of water like Turkish restaurant ones. It has changed the name from taste of Afghanistan to Shami but chefs are the same skilful people .I am giving 6 starts instead of 5 stars.🙏🙏🙏

The food, hospitality everything was on point. Even though there were limited options available for vegetarians to pick from the menu, they totally nailed it. The food was very really good and their Afghani Chutney is the best which is served with Hummus and bread. Thankyou so much for having us and providing us with the best service.

Situated in a busy high road this place serves up genuine Afghan cuisine. Clean simple and uncomplicated. The staff are friendly but it’s clear they are inexperienced generally for a high end experience but this is Greenford and not Pall Mall. The dishes are tasty and that is important. You’re coming here to eat hearty food not to gaze over the city landscape. I wish them all the best.

I went to this place in 2023 can’t remember the year but when I went there I was sitting in a table with my kids then when they served me there food they started twerking while giving me my food which I find really disgusting and disturbed then when my kids ask one of the workers how is your day they called my kid a chichi sag which made me extremely pissed that I slammed on of there heads body slammed on of the worker then the police was involved but I was fine since THEY CALLED MY KID A SAG VERY GOOD OF YOU SHAMI KEBAB WELL DOWN

I had dinner last night at the taste of Afghanistan. Unfortunately the soup was very spicy, the grill mix was mainly chicken and the rice was not tasty at all. Afghan food is very delicious and unfortunately this was nothing like that. Hopefully this review will help them improve the quality of the food.

Food was great, service charge was £5.00 on top of the bill wasn't expecting that. Didn't like that they had put water on the table and if we didn't ask we would of had to pay for it.

Atmosphere is warm, busy and cosy not to mention aromatic. Good Afghan music is played constantly and the staff are incredibly welcoming. The food is arguably the best in the world, with a variety of ethnic cuisines and drinks. It fills you up really quickly, but no matter how full you are, I can guarantee you will continue eating. Out of all the Afghan restaurants, this is the best in quality and price. 100% worth the money and the wait, wouldn’t go to anywhere else in the world besides here. - satisfied customer

By far the best place I have ever been to for Afghan food. Usually, Afghan restaurants are run by people who aren't Afghan and try to pass the food off as authentic and you can really taste the difference. Taste of Afghanistan is authentic. The owner is always so hospitable and goes the extra mile when we turn up with a large party - even on shirt notice. The portion size is perfect so you don't feel overly stuffed and definitely do not feel hungry when you're done. There's also a public car park behind the restaurant which costs less than 90p per hour. Highly recommend going and trying anything on the menu.

I visited the shop yesterday and ordered chicken karahi, expecting a 40-minute wait as they had indicated. However, after the 40min wait, I was informed they didn't have it and so instead we order chicken curry. Unfortunately, the chicken curry was neither fresh nor flavorful. This was quite disappointing, especially since I've had good experiences there before. It seems like there might be some issues with their service or preparation on this particular day. I hope they can improve and maintain their previous standards.

The people were lazy whatever we were ordering they were saying it’s finished waited 40 mins for chicken karahi and in the end said we don’t have it after waiting for 40 mins staff was soo unprofessional very rude laughing at us for no reason I usually come here every weekend wid my family yesterday came with my friends very unsatisfied ordered chicken curry was not fresh didn’t taste good was cold told them to take it away wings was burned too

Food is good, portions are big. Price is not expensive, though not cheap. The place has terrible service though, must have waited 30 minutes after finishing for my plate to be taken and to order ice cream. I was the only person in the restaurant, and caught the eye of the waitress three times though still, nothing. In the end, I got up, paid and then left

I went with family, the food and service were excellent. We had the platter for 4, which could have fed 6 hungry people easily. The food came promptly, kebabs were freshly prepared. The lamb cubes were succulent, juicy and so soft. Everything tasted lovely. I really enjoyed the entire meal. Well done to all the staff. I've been there a few times and I've always left feeling full and happy. A big thumbs up 👍😍.

Nothing afghan about this place. The cuisine is exactly the same as pakistani/Indian and the naan bread is a typical naan bread and not the traditional afghan one. Waste of nearly £44 for 2 people.

Lost week I have order a Mantu It was very disgusting, I had ordered lost mount in march mantu and ashak was very delicious but now this time it was very disgusting. I will not recommend them to eating! I hope the owners fixed the issue.

Tried so many Afghan restaurants previously in London but honestly this one has exceeded my expectations. Their mantu is the best you will find. Unlike other restaurants, their food is not stale and actually tastes good. Food is top tier. My go to Afghan restaurant!!!!
