Taste it Polish Restaurant in Welwyn Hatfield

My husband and I were for Sunday dinner. We first ordered mixed dumplings - I especially recommend the ones with venison, they impressed us. The potato pancakes were crispy and well seasoned, and the mushroom sauce was fantastic. My husband had tender tenderloins, they melted in your mouth, with the same mushroom sauce and Silesian dumplings, which were soft and slightly sticky, just right. The apple pie for dessert is also very tasty and the homemade compote is great! The place is clean, bright and pleasant atmosphere. The service was extremely nice and professional. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

My family and I have been there this afternoon and are warmly welcome by the boss I think. He is a very nice guy and explains to us about today’s menu. Food are lovely, taste homemade and with good portion. My kids enjoy their kid’s meal a lot, “the tomato soup is a real gem”, “I like the chicken and chips”, by my daughters. The restaurant is meticulously clean and tidy. Four of us spend £35 for a lunch which could not complain anymore. I will definitely recommend to everyone visiting Hatfield as this is one of the best in this town.

Feels like someone's home with real authentic homemade food (though I'm not polish) The food is really good, The zurek soup is amazing, one of the best soups I've ever had! Duck leg was so good but not on the menu anymore but I will be back to try out more dishes with my polish friend!

Had a fantastic breakfast with friends. I ordered crepe with fete cheese which was a first for me. £6. My friend Armata ordered full English £8.50. Abdul had the vegetarian omelette £7.50. Good sized potions and great friendly staff. Parking nearby is free for 3 hours. Toilets really clean. Disabled access no steps and a disabled toilet. Great place I would visit again.

The portions are quite big and the food is generally tasty. The atmosphere was average. The biggest issue was the wait! We literally waited for an hour for the dishes to come out. I don't know whether it was that particular day when they were short of people in the kitchen or something but that's not good. Way too long of a wait. I can't imagine if I would have been with a toddler that was hungry or something. An acknowledgement from the waiter would have helped but that has not been the case.

Overall, really nice and tasty food! I had silesian dumplings a few times to make sure I once had them overcooked, but this is the way they make them. Nothing bad, but just too soft and gooey for me, mushroom sauce too floury. Otherwise, everything else is really delicious. Try Bigos and pierogi! Nice and friendly staff!

Really lovely Polish cafe tucked away in a very scruffy and dingy looking shopping parade. Staff are friendly and the food tastes good, if underseasoned. The service was terribly terribly slow, and the salmon on my salad was not just undercooked, but raw in the centre. Prices aren't cafe cheap, but I was just too tired after a long day to say anything.

Good food and a friendly, laid-back service. All the traditional favourites are there in the menu, the portions are Polish (i.e. generous!) and the prices very reasonable indeed. Preparation time wasn't instant. That's because the dishes are based on fresh ingredients prepared on the premises from scratch. To check this out, I chose Placki Ziemniaczane: a dish of 7 crispy potato pancakes served with sour cream, (though you can have them Hungarian-style with a pork goulash too). When I make them at home, I cheat by using Knorr powdered potato... these on the other hand were properly made, by grating potatoes very finely indeed– they took 20 minutes, and were exactly right: light, crisp and delicious. Filling though– I took two of them home! Total cost £6.50. Though it appears unpretentious, it offers some excellent specialities as well as the Polish basics: try their Duck Leg Confit served in its roast jus, accompanied with Silesian Potato Dumplings and grated beetroot. Their Pork Tenderloin served with a Chanterelle sauce and a juicy carrot salad looks wonderful too. I was driving, so their basic range of wines, and some interesting cocktails, were alas, left unsampled...

Tried the peroggi here. They were 10/10. Very authentic.

I had not been out for a Polish before and I was extremely impressed with this one. The traditional rye soup with sausage and egg served with bun (roll) was the best soup that I have ever had ever. The port stew with potato pancakes served with sour cream and sour cucumber was much less stew-like and much more filling than I had expected. I could not manage a pudding. The food was brilliant, the service was really good and the lady who sat alone at a table, facing out of the window, turned out to be anti-socially waiting her dining buddy and was not a detective after all. This is a brilliant place and it is easy to park behind (for free after six).

An excellent Polish restaurant serving a great selection of authentic fresh dishes.

We were wandering around the center of Hatfield and found this place by chance. I’m very happy we found it. The restaurant seems like a small organization, but it runs perfectly. The lady in the restaurant was genuinely friendly. Only downside was that some dishes weren’t available. We started with zurek, my favorite Polish soup. Delicious. Then we had pierogi with chicken and pork. I loved it. I doubt I will ever make it back to Hatfield, so they will not see me again, but I do recommend the restaurant.

The food was amazing, great atmosphere and professional staff. I've been there for the Christmas party with friends and it was lovely and the dishes were served with a good brake in between so you could eat them all at the end.

Food was very tasty. Only fault is with the tomato soup. It didn't taste as it was made from tomatoes. Service was great and atmosphere in the restaurant was nice and cosy.

We found this hidden gem yesterday whilst visiting the Polish shop. Really welcoming whether you are Polish or not. Food and kompot (fruit drink) were delicious. I had traditional pork and cabbage stew called Bigos 😋

Went to all the effort of finding parking and also finding the cafe only to be greeted by a very rude man who offered us outside seating -2 degrees when I said no thanks he was just rude so we walked out. That’s not how you treat people customers

The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is because it's in Hatfield. This is the best food in the whole town by a long way. Hatfield has allowed mediocrity to be served and they try to call it food. Not here in taste it Polish. Here you step into a place run by people from Poland for people from Poland and everywhere else in the world. That Polish pride comes out best in the food which is better than anything available for literally miles around in any direction. This is what a restaurant should be Hatefield. There are no other good restaurants in town, it's this or the Japanese restaurant upstairs. Any other restaurant in town is probably going to try and poison you with turkey bacon. Thank you Taste it Polish. If it wasn't for you and the Japanese restaurant I think I would have moved out of Hatefield years ago.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the food. It was really tasty. Service was good too. I first went with my son the day he joined the uni and I liked it so much that we went again with the wife 2 weeks later.

First time trying Polish food. Resturant is very clean with friendly staff. The menu is in english and polish so makes things very easy. Lots of Polish people eating here which tells me it must be pretty good. Food came quickly and very hot. Amazing starters that i would have normally had as a main. Mains are massive. The pork and chicken stakes are tasty and cooked very well. Prices are pretty good too so with 4 drinks, 3starters and 3 mains it was just over £50 which i think is very good as we ate at 2pm and didnt need dinner that evening. Well done we will be revisiting soon to try some more dishes.

Fantastic food for adult and children.

We were staying in a near by hotel and wanted an early dinner so booked here. We were gerated by a lovely young lady given a menu which we read with delight while she bought us our drinks. Hubby ordered Pierogi with chicken and pork, huge tasty portion, I ordered Beetroot soup with mini dumplings of cabbage and mushrooms delicious. To follow I had the stewd pork on potato pancakes which defeated me, and hubby had breaded chicken fillet with mashed potatoes and the most amazing vegetable salad, he hates veg normally but lived these and he was also defeated, shame because he wanted to try creps for dessert. We live 50 miles away but when in the area will definitely return for another early dinner (they close at 8) car parking just a few minutes away clean and very reasonably priced.

My husband and I took my mother here for lunch. The food was excellent. Large portions and beautifully home cooked. My mother's desert was massive. We bever thought she would manage to eat it all . She did because sge said it was too good to waste. Everything was delicious. Service with a smile and excellent value for money. We will be back soon.

Nie panierujcie kotletów na zaś i i nie trzymajcie w lodowce przez 24h bo nasiąkają i dlatego panierka tak z nich odchodzi . Trafiliście na kucharza z doświadczeniem i to jest karygodny błąd . Chętnie zademonstruje jak zrobić piekielnie dobrego schabowego . I do tego Dodajcie na menu ze kapusta zasmażana jest z kiszonej a nie ze świeżej z koperkiem i boczkiem (duży minus) na koniec dodam 3 gwizdki health And safety to mie wyczyn . Każdy z nas w domu ma conajmniej 4 tak wiec sprawa przekierowana do EHO. NIE POLECAM SERDECZNIE

We drive 45 mins to get there. Really nice. If it was nearer, we, d probably go more often. Always nice, good portions. Pancake is brilliant. Very hearty food. Dont forget the soups. Nice.

Delicious food and reasonably priced

We went there again after a long break enforced by COVID. The decor has changed for the better, the food is still superb, the service attentive and exceptionally friendly. There were four adults, one teenager and one toddler in our party. We had three different main courses and all of them were delicious. Only three of us were up to having a dessert and all have apple cake to die for.
