Taste Chinese in Blackpool

Ordered a Takeaway from Taste last night.. Egg fried rice chicken balls special curry sort noodles.. Order was with us with in the time zone took about 20-25mins.. Food was delicious, plenty to go around, lots of taste, piping hot. Massive chicken balls.. Would highly recommend and will be using again when next order or takeaway..

Food was dry and tasted bland, should be called “Tasteless”. The owner was extremely rude. The chips were ok but I’ll never order from here again. Swerve them at all costs. Plenty of other places that are better than here.

I've been buying special fried rice and chow meins from here for over ten years and they have always been amazing. Once I complained because there were little black specks in 1 dish and I was instantly offered a replacement and treated with kindness. I have been reading reviews for a long time I don't really understand the negative ratings. Maybe telephone manner could be an issue but as long as you don't act like a drama queen they have no reason to do the same. Delivery drivers are always friendly, food is always piping hot, price is reasonable. I really don't know what there is to complain about. Anyways try a rice or chow mein dish and see if you like it :). Cheers. Oh I just got complementary prawn crackers on a 10 quid meal.... can't be bad :)

It took them over an hour to CANCEL my order on Just Eat. Ridiculous!! Order from somewhere where they can actually cope with your order on a quiet Monday night. No reason or communication offered, just cancelled after an hour.

First off I must say that the food is normally quite good, the reason for my low score is more to do with the staff but on this occasion I must add that our order wasn't up to its usual standard. I opted to collect my food instead of delivery. I was a little puzzled as to why one of the delivery drivers was behind the counter milling about in the kitchen, his face mask was off or around his chin. On a couple of occasions he topped up some of the food containers and actually picked the remnants out with his unprotected hands before depositing into the fresh container. Also he picked something else out of another container and ate it. I also witnessed him wiping his nose on his hand. He then starts to help the staff by placing lids on the takeaway trays. This must be abusing health and safety regulations. I wont be using them again for some time if ever.

Delivery took over an hour and a half to come, no prawn crackers and the crispy beef was so chewy it was disgusting. Chicken curry was so thick. The whole thing was inedible. Never ordering from here again.

It is a great shame that this top take away seem to have gone down the nick, we have had some really good Chinese food from Taste but the last food we ordered was not good even the chicken curry that was always good was very powdery. I would like to give it one more chance but it could be a waist of a good night in and money.

Living off Whitegate Drive I have used Taste for many years and considered myself lucky to have such an excellent takeaway on my doorstep. For some time I have found the quality of the food to have deteriorated. I ordered a King Prawn Kin do the day before Christmas eve. The prawns were very rubbery and hard to cut through. I really regret eating it as it pretty much spoiled my Christmas giving me the most upset stomach I've had in a long time. Not great when you have to force down your Christmas dinner. Not wanting to write it of completely we ordered again this week. I went with vegetarian which was fine, if not a little too salty and very thick curry sauce. My partners prawns were binned. Very tough again and not worth chancing it. Won't be using Taste again.

Exactly as it says in the title, this place used to challenge for one of the best in blackpool. the woman on the counter has always been rude, even her husband said so, apparently its just the way she is, which is fair play as they used to make a decent meal. However, the chef husband is now gone, and the woman is now in the kitchen with her brothers, since then, the five star hygiene rating has gone, as have most of the customer base. We work next door and used to pump a good 400 - 600 quid a week into this place, but i now cant remember the last time we went, preferring the pizza place across the road now. Her attitude stinks, sure, it always has. but the food was amazing. This place was like the Alfa Romeo of takeouts, you put up with the bad engine and the poor performance because the look and quality was so good....... well, now the wheels have fallen off now !

The girl that answered the phone was so rude, tutted, sighed and shouted at me because she couldn’t hear me and constantly snapped at me! She has absolutely no manners or customer service at all! How she gets away with it I have no idea! Was tempted to put the phone down and order with someone else, definitely won’t be ordering from there ever again! When I complained to the driver he said she’s only 18 but agreed with me when I said she needs her attitude sorting out! Surprised it still has any customers left!

New owners haven’t got a clue how to run a takeaway ...they put far to much salt in the food bad service bad food

Ordered chicken balls and chilli beef. First of all it cost £10 for the both of them. Rude girl at the counter. Hadn’t even shut the door and she wanted to know my order. No please or thank you. Just ‘here’s your meal’ when handing over the food. Got the food home, cold, extremely dry and bland. Chicken balls just greasy batter and a small amount of dry chicken inside the bullet batter. This is a shame considering it used to be nice. Will not be returning. ‘Chef’ needs sacking. Save your money and go else where.

I've been ordering from here for a few years and the foods always been the best Chinese in Blackpool, but recently it's just not been the same. Really tasteless poor quality food, not much flavour. The sweet and sour sauce just tasted of jam and it's all just really average. The service has never been good which I used to over look for the nice food but think tonight's the final straw, I won't be wasting my money here again to be let down. Shame because it used to be good

What a disgusting meal for 2 at £ 16.30 1 was duck curry but it was tough duck which was chewy !!! Full fat & skin on that wasn’t crispy . Must be others that hated it . So bad physical sick . No rating so disgusting . I phoned to complain but they wasn’t even sorry or an offer to replace . It gave 1 rate but believe me it was only because you had too .NIL RATED

meal tonight was full of salt, rubbish will not go again. It was good to eat here last year but something has changed since.

This used to be a cracking take away. What has gone wrong? Tonight's meal was not good. Arrived late. Cold, tasteless, reheated chips! Tasteless, slimy, undercooked chicken! Expensive, poor quality food. What a shame!

Ordered food here and it was disgusting. It was like it was reheated multiple times. Definitely AVOID!!!!!!!

food came cold, order wrong and items missing. past few times ordered there has ALWAYS been something wrong, used to be ok but has gone so down hill its now one of the worst in blackpool. when i rang to get the stuff we ordered and PAID FOR!! she refused to send to us so in the end i had to get my boyfreind to sort it out for them to come and give me a refund.when the guy came to the door he started kicking off with us! . do not order from here if you want a good chinese to come on time and right.

I have been using this take away for over 12 months, on friday i ordered my usual meal for 2 and went to collect it. On getting the meals home we opened the cucumber and spring onion mix to go with the 1/4 duck and it looked disgusting, I put the rest of the food in the oven to stay warm and got in the car and took it back to the shop for replacement. I told the girl on the counter the veg was of very poor quality and should never have been sent out with an order, her attitude was awful and when she got it replaced she merely chucked it onto the counter and walked back into the kitchen no apology whatsover. One of the shops drivers said sorry about that. I said thanks but it wasnt really his shout to apologise it was the girl who took it off me and replaced it. I challenged her but she just ignored me.

We have enjoyed many a great take away over the years from Taste but the past few have been shockingly bad. So much so we won't be going back. We have always let them off their rude manners on the phone and in the takeaway itself as the food was so amazing. I'm not sure why it has changed but I would presume there has been a change of chef. Well that's what it feels like. Grizzly meat. Chicken that was tasteless. And generally not up to scratch.

The go to Chinese/Cantonese take away in the local area. Usually arrive quick and though the price has gone up like most places a lot recently, the Taste is great. Would definitely recommend this place to people in blackpool the salt and pepper chicken/chips is up there with the best I've had.

I ordered a delivery last night one of the dishes was a beef dish the beef was definitely off I phoned them to complain and all they said was no one else has complained and then asked if I had the full container I told them that my wife and I had between us shared about half of the container and thrown the food in the bin after trying it so I only had about half of the container left they were totally disinterested i must say that the rest of the food was fine so no complaint with that but their attitude is if you don't like it tough. i have in the past used this takeaway on many occasions and always told friends that this was one of the best takeaways in town but sadly no longer i will in future advise friends to steer clear and go elsewhere.

Servicio de atención al cliente ni disculpas chocante para conseguir la dirección errónea y aun no teniendo el derecho de dirección dos llamadas y dos horas más tarde! Una pena, ya que solía ser un negocio de confianza.

Pedimos comida £20 y me dijeron que me llegaria en 20 minutos. Después de 1 hora y varias llamadas telefónicas, llegó a la persona entrega que habían sido en el horno por una hora. Esto se vio confirmado cuando tratamos de comer. Llamé para quejarme y en primera me ofrecieron comida y luego cuando se negó, ya que era demasiado tarde para comer, nos ofrecieron comida gratis la próxima vez que pedimos.

Ordered a takeaway this evening at a cost of £48.10 had to say not the best. Crispy shredded beef was not Crispy and undercooked. Chips were overcooked as we're the prawn crackers. Chicken balls were average but the chicken fried rice was nice and the curry sauce is the best I've tasted. So not bad but not great. Not a return visit from me

Have bought from here regularly for months but will never buy from here again. Spend £40 on family meals and last week they got two main meal orders wrong and after ringing them up the lady apologised and said next time we order we can have two main meals free. So we ring up tonight to be spoken to by the owner in the rudest manner imaginable. She totally overrules what the other lady said to us and told us in no uncertain terms we would not be getting the free meals as agreed last week as there was nothing wrong with our meals and the lady last week had no right offering them free next time. You couldn't even row with her as she wouldn't let us speak. Needless to say she will not be getting a penny more from us and it seems rudeness comes as standard reading the recent reviews.

Disgusting customer service. In the shop the woman treats like you're a nuisance, she then got our order wrong and when we phoned up, shouted down the phone and said I was wrong. Never come across such rude and obnoxious staff. Will be ordering from Red Pepper from now on.

Ordered this tonight lady on the phone disgustingly rude.... When it arrived duck overcooked.... do use this regular so probably will give another go.... but I get spoke to like that or receive sub standard food like that again will never use again!!

Ordered food for 11 on Saturday night. We picked it up as we dont live in Blackpool.Every dish was fabulous and it cost just over £70. Starters, 6 main courses plus rice and noodles The best Thai green curry, and sweet and sour ever,

Well we have just arrived back from South East Asia after being there 4 months and was thinking about a Chinese meal when I remembered that before we left the Blackpool we had some great food from Taste, so we ordered a take away, for starters we shared Spicy Chilli Salt Ribs and Chicken Wings with spicy chilli ! Wow what taste this food had. Then for main Chicken curry and Crispy Beef with Spicy Sauce.All the food was first class and freshly cookedTaiste is a great take away if you know what European style Chinese food should taste like and the staff are great.

I love this takeaway! I have been to this takeaway a few times now with friends and I have no complaints whatsoever! The food is always delicious and is always the right size amount of food, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. I love this takeaway and will deffo be going back in the future! Would certainly recommend.

Having tried Taste once before and being underwhelmed, I gave it another go. It seemed more expensive than others and it was not that nice. The pork was disgusting, very fatty/gristly and even had tubes in it. There will not be a third visit very disappointed.

This Chinese used to be very nice, however the last few times we have ordered, the food has been rubbish!!! The chicken was very hard & chewy, the salt & chilli chips were rubbish & the prawn crackers were stale!!! Not happy that I've spent so much money, but I won't be spending anymore there.

Had to change Chinese takeaway as Mr Hau from Oriental is on his jollies for a month! This takeaway is equally as good. Ordered 4 chicken fried rice, barbeque spare ribs, chips, crackers, curry sauce. Under £30 and it was delicious. Delivered in under 30 mins(i live close to be fair). Nice and clean. 5 star. I will be trying them again soon!

Never ever use this. I would like to start a petition to get this business gone and let someone else take over this takeaway. They are horrible owners. They steal and shout. Not to mention hassle you with missed calls

Ordered last night the women who answers is just dam rude the way she talks is as common as can be she clearly doesn't know her pleases and thank yous ! The food it's self is highly priced and is getting poorer each time ! Two weeks ago I ordered my food and waited two hours to be told that the order wasn't sent in and we will send it in now to the kitchen !!! I won't be using them again

I have placed many orders with Taste and never had a problem with food until this evening. We ordered mixed starter for 2, house fried rice and mixed satay with rice. The food was delivered and we had the starters which were delicious, especially the ribs. We then went to serve the mains and I noticed the satay did not look like satay but had a curry texture when I tasted a little it was curry which I dont like. Therefore I rang the takeaway to tell them the wrong meal had been sent the girl didnt respond immediately but then said oh well when you next order we will give you a free meal. I then said I would prefer a refund and would bring the meal back to which she just said fine. No im sorry for inconvenience. My partner took the meal in the shop and the girl was about to hand money over when a man (presume the cook) asked why she was handing money back. It was explained that it should have been satay and it was curry he said well there is nothing wrong with the dish. My partner said no the dish looks absolutely fine aparttl from the fact it was not what was ordered nor do we like curry. The man tried to argue again but my partner insisted on money back and the girl did give a refund. As most of the comments on here state customer service is certainly lacking. In future chu's will be our first choice and we wont be giving anymore custom to Taste.

After ordering from another Chinese takeaway not fare from Taste last month that has an amazing review rating and it was rubbish, I took a friends advice and ordered a takeaway from Taste, the food, a mixed starter and a chicken curry was great and the girl on the phone was very pleasent (maybe they do act on Trip Advisers reviewers comments) and when I arrived to collect the food the staff behind the counter where very pleasant and helpful.Another good thing about this takeaway is you can watch the food being cooked as the kitchen is open. We will be using this Chinese takeaway in the future.

Me and my partner decided to try a different Chinese so after getting a leaflet through the door we tried taste, BIG MISTAKE!The women who takes the order on the phone is very rude, when you get there they ask you your full order rather than just taking names and numbers which would be easier!?After recieving the food the women behind the counter then through my change on the counter rather than putting it in my hand.I knew at this point I wouldn't be going back then to top it got home and the BBQ ribs were discusting the sauce might as well of just been cooking oil greasy minging no taste! noodles were cold sweet and sour chicken the chicken was hard, the duck was fatty.No customer service, terrible food. AVOID

Got a menu through the door so thought we'd give it a try. Food was OK but nothing special. Order taken on the phone which was very rushed and abrupt.Went to collect order and was asked (in order to locate my order), how much is it? When I replied with 'I'm not sure?, about £20' the woman serving literally sighed in my face and stormed off to check.Once I'd payed I had my hand out to take the change and she dropped it down on the counter.Very, very poor customer service. Food was actually alright, but your best bet is to go over the road to Chu's Phoenix.We won't be returning, simply because of the service and being made to feel like our custom wasn't wanted and actually an inconvenience to them.

I normally order from taste all the time my favourite being the pork chow main,just got a delivery there and I must say it's the worse I've had from there,I rang to tell them I was not happy with my meal which cost me £17 for just me and my son which neither of us have ate apart from a mouthful,to be told she can't do nothing because I've tried it,but how am I meant to know it's disgusting if I don't try it???? Needless to say the woman wasn't very happy when I told her the food was disgusting Her reply was how dare you!!! No customer service skills at all,not even I'm sorry that the meal disappointed you what can I do to make it right?very disappointed and certainly will not be using this place again Bad Food Bad Attitude!!!!

Very, very average,always check your change girl on counter always tries to short change you! Won't be using again, the Chinese across the road much better, the phoinex I think it's called, they don't try to rip you off.

Just ordered from taste. Arrived in fourty mins. Food was fresh and smelt gorgeous. Wasn't disappointed we had a great meal of sweet and sour chicken, beef with black bean , rice, chips and seaweed. They do the best tasting seaweed in town. will be recommending also all for under £20 and free prawn crackers. Delish ✔

Just ordered from here for the first time in a while, wont be doing it again, we ordered 2 portions of chicken balls, 1 tub of sweet and sour, 1 tub of sweet chilli, a tub of curry and special fried rice. We ended up getting freezing cold fried rice, 1 portion of chicken balls with sweet chilli and curry sauce. We called them back to tell them we were missing some food, the woman was very rude and denied us even ordering the missing food, so snotty and very rude, never going again.

My Husband and I ordered from here a couple of weeks ago and had a disaster. Ordered sweet and sour King Prawn balls. We received Sweet and Sour chicken balls with no sweet and Sour sauce!!! We only discovered this after eating our combination starter of which was all overcooked. I then rang taste up to ask for my original order and by the time the correct order arrived the rice and chips had all gone cold! ended up not eating it.... Should have asked for my money back but have just vowed never to return again...

This is by far the best Chinese takeaway I have ever bought their service is 1st class , and the portions are more than din ugh off even the biggest appetites ,I am extremely lucky to live just around the corner from this takeaway

After becoming more and more annoyed at not being able to find a decent chinese takeout in the whole of Blackpool... I then came across Taste and have never looked back! I had honestly tried most of a takeouts in Blackpool trying to find one which was good. Every chinese I had was awful in different ways. They would either get the order wrong, the chicken would be a strange jelly like substance, the dishes would look as if they had been cooked a couple of days ago and warmed up and that sort of thing. I even went as far as to paying extra for delivery for a takeout which was about 5 miles from my home... I was desperate to find one which was great value and great taste.A friend of mine suggested Taste to me and although I had tried most takeouts in Blackpool, I hadn't tried Taste before. I guess I didn't realise it was there. I can honestly say I have never had a bad takeout from Taste. The lady who takes the order is lovely and very helpful, they always make sure that the order is correct, the food is always piping hot and tastes beautiful. Alot of chinese takeouts make you pay £7 for a half duck and its more like a leg. At Taste you get a full half and theres plenty of duck on it and enough for 4 people. I am pleased to finally say that I have found a good takeout in Blackpool, and I would recommend this place to anyone. It won't disappoint. Well done Taste, you have made me a happy girl and also a chubby one at the same time because I can't get enough of your takeouts!!

Food was quite good but the girl serving us was uninterested more interested in candy crush I would say. Actually she was quite rude. 1st and last visit

Well where do I start we ve been using this Chinese for the last 7 months the food used to really good and fast delivery for the last month the food has been turning up burnt hardly any meat and mainly vegetables if I wanted a plate of vegetables I would make my own and not pay expensive prices for it sort it out taste you have lost 2 loyal customers here and your attitude stunk when I rang to complain I let it slip for a few weeks

After 3 years of excellent meals, very fast delivery - normally 15mins. It all went wrong last night.Waited for 2hrs before I decided to chase take away up. The lady on the phone told me she would find out whats happened and call me back. After 15 mins with no call back I called back up again. The lady appologised and said the kitchen had misplaced the order and if I still wanted it they would deliver in 20 minutes, I asked if she was sure it would only be 20 mins she replied yes. After a further 40 mins (now 3hrs 10 mins in total) I called back up, again the appology and said he was on his way. The meal arrived, mising the usual free prawn crackers, upon tasting the soup we soon discovered something was not right, we left the soup and inspected the main meal, it truly was at least 3hrs old and very dry and tasteless. The lady called to ask if all was ok. We expressed our concern, we were told that the manager would ring as soon as possible, in the meantime (just as well the manager never called) we decided to return the meal to the restaurant and claim our money back. The lady was sat in darkness except a candle, the place was cold and dead, no way had our meal come from this kitchen. Money collected we went else where. One loyal customer lost.

I was shocked to see some of the reviews on this takeaway! I have been using this Chinese for about the last year now, and its always full of flavour, The house special Chow Mein and Singapore Vermicelli are the best choices IMO, I have used nearly every other chinese in blackpool clevleys etc, and none are as good as Taste!Other post are entitled to their opinion but I have to say there is no better Chinese in the area.I think the other reviews are dated the current Staff and chefs are exellent.and the reviews based on one bad experiance, Im simply rating the food & its basically as good as the name of the chinese itself Taste!

Overpriced and the wrong order when we got home i.e a chicken curry is supposed to have chicken in it isn't it? After opening the bag up there was just boiled rice and curry sauce??Will not be going there again, and I would not reccomend this place to anyone :(

We tried a take away from here and I should have known when the food came too fast there was going to be a problem!Three staff too busy talking and laughing we ordered the special chow mein and also BBQ spare ribs which looked like they had just had Heinz BBQ sauce squirted on top of them,Too much corn starch/flour used in the chow mein made it jellied and is a cheap filler instead of meat etc.

Overpriced food. used to be oir favoirite until it changed hands and the food went downhill. however we found a hidden gem...4seasons close to the boars head. also has new management but fantastic food!
