Taste Africana is a great place to get authentic and tasty west African food. We went for a weeknight dinner and enjoyed goat pepper soup, jollof and chicken. All dishes were fresh and tasty with generous portion sizes. We will be back!

The Nigerian Chapman is 100% the best cocktail I've ever had

Let me tell you SOMETHING . This place is a taste of home. The FOOOOOD is authentic! So much so it took me back to the meals my Grandma would make in Nigeria. The portions are very generous and you even have the option to go bigger. One thing i really loved about the soups besides the amazing flavour was that you had the option to pick your choice of proteins, be it meat, chicken or fish. Oh and if spice is your weakness, you still can get the same flavours with much milder heat… To put it simply, this place bangs and i would recommend, be it if you just love great Nigerian food or you just want to try authentic Nigerian food for the first time. Taste Africana is proper naija food. You won’t be disappointed

Never tried African food and i really enjoyed so tasty 😍

Shouldn’t say Caribbean when it’s not. Very small portion of goat with more bones than meat. Very disappointed and it cost £40 I was absolutely shocked. Asked for mild lamb it was absolutely red hot powder. Need to sort prices or portions because that was never worth the money.

as an igbo girl all I can say is I'm disappointed. serves me right if you want something done right don't be lazy and do it yourself.

We asked Taste Africana to do the catering for one of our Sheba Arts events (50 people), and they delivered beyond all expectations! We ordered big trays of coleslaw, plantain, spring rolls, chicken pies and puff puff. The food was amazing as they only use fresh ingredients and make it on the day. We had really good feedback from the event attendees. I highly recommend this place to eat in, or to hire for events catering.

So disappointed. Ogbono was so bland, could not taste any chilli or bitter leaf or stock fish. Not quite the same as in Lagos

4th time of trying here , absolutely fantastic yet again I had goat curry & wife had Nigerian fried rice with stewed beef , had African canapé starters can't fault any of it cheers 👍

this was amazing, curried goat, rice & peas was spot on-just a tiny bit too spicy for me and missing the steamed veg (and there was no dumplings available to order). Will definately order again

It was my 1st time there food was gorgeous there was a wide variety to choice from and plenty on the plate I had Nigerian rice chicken and fried plantain then had puff puffs for a sweet

First timer ordering here. Consider it seemed popular on demand. Order the popular Lamb curry it was really nice. Along with portion Delivery was early and food was nice and hot on arrival. Probably will order again some time!.

I’m a big foodie and I’ve ate a lot of different kinds of foods! But this place hands down beats every single last one of them! I got the chicken curry and rice & The food is insanely good! Full of flavour, not to spicy but no to mild! My son who’s 3 had the drum stick chicken & rice kids meal and in his own words “mum I’m so full but I can’t stop eating it because it’s so yummy” I’ve never seen him sit still for so long he absolutely adored the food and asked if we could have it again tonight!

Myself and my partner, it was our first time ordering a take away from here and with high expectations as we both love hot, spicy and variety of flavours in our food. I can say that the food unfortunately was disappointing, very bland, flavourless and not very warm so much so we had to reheat when arrived home only living a 5minute car journey away. £46 total for 2 regular size meals and a starter, I expected a lot more for the value of money and taste in food.

I LOVE IT! I ordered over the phone and it was here in 10 mins. Yes I repeat 10 MINUTES. The spices are just right and the beef was falling apart. The fried dodo was fried to perfection. I will most definitely Order from here again it was amazing amazing I love it!

In the area for work and while trailing through the endless bad reviews of most of the places in the area I found this little gem and decided to give it a try I wasn't dissapointed I had the asun delight (bbq goat) with jolof, the food was fresh and delicious, missing a little spice but that was my fault for not asking. The staff were great and it was good to have time to talk with the owner, the place has a great atmosphere like being welcomed into someone's house. I would definitely drop in again if in the area and be a bit more adventurous on the other dishes. All the best for the future.

Honest opinion - spent almost £60 on takeaway, the food was quite nice but we ordered large portions and they weren’t large. Nowhere near enough meat on the bones and nowhere near enough sauce/gravy. I was disappointed in the portions for the price, as African restaurants/takeaways usually give generous portions but I wouldn’t return unless the portions were bigger as it’s not worth the money otherwise. The food was nice enough and the service was friendly, but took longer than they said it would.

The food from here is Amazing! I've only been twice but I've found a new favourite cuisine. Thank you. I recommend it just for the flavours, quality and portion sizes!

I have eaten "food" before, but now I have eaten real FOOD. I think this is what angles feed the gods! I just want to stay alive to keep eating this food. I can only give 5 stars, I want to give infinity stars. The delivery was bit late, but then who will not wait in the qué to eat food that gods eat. Thank you for the wonderful 😌 food.

Celebrated my husband’s birthday at their restaurant's private room. It wasn’t a pleasant experience. The service was excellent, The ambiance was great, and the food was excellent 👌🏾, Every dish was tasty, unique and perfect. Can’t wait to visit again.

Nicely decorated restaurant, with a good menu and rage of foods, egusi was beautiful and the beef in it was 10/10, and was served in the traditional way with a water bowl for hands. Overall very good restaurant and staff with nice food for everyone

Overall slightly disappointed with taste africana was really excited to try the curried goat as I have enjoyed it in the past. To be honest I found both the Goat and Jerk chicken to be a little bland and slightly overcooked. I will say the service I received both on the phone and in person was really good and friendly. The food was warm when I got it home and it was nice but just not as good as I had hoped. I would definitely go and try more African food and think its worth a visit.

Absolutely stunning food, packed full of flavour, super tender meats. The goat curry is one of the best I have ever tasted. Chicken so full of flavour, the rice was perfectly cooked, Jollof rice packed full of flavour. Delivery driver was lovely, I heard him with my son at the door. All round excellent, thank you so much. Highly recommend and well worth the price to bring everyone authentic flavours.

Just had a takeaway from this restaurant which was beyond awful. The food all arrived stone cold. The burger was rock hard and full of gristle and sinews. The hake had been overcooked, was dry and inedible - full of bones and skin and frankly didn't taste anything like hake. The plantain was cold and disgusting. We spent over £30 and the only things we could eat were the chips and coleslaw. Absolute disgrace. Will never go there again and would advise everyone to avoid

Absolutely awful. Burger rock hard and inedible, everything stone cold, hake overcooked - couldn't eat that either. Most expensive chips and coleslaw we have ever had. Don't bother!

If you've not had a sit down meal here yet, you definitely should! The food is incredible, so tasty, and staff will adjust spice levels for you to your taste. Our server brought out a Nigerian game for us to play that's traditionally played at Christmas, called Ayo (we went on 23rd Dec) - so fun. We quickly became very competitive 😂 We had a brilliant time and will be taking more friends there soon.

The food is absolutely outstanding! It was our first time trying here and it was it really good, the staff were so friendly and approachable. I had the egusi soup with powdered yam and my mum had the Jamaican goat curry. We both really enjoyed our experience with the menu and the restaurant, I even took hope extra meals for the day after. I would 100% recommend this too any one, I will be back to eat in and for takeaways

I don’t think I came up for air whilst eating the goat curry! Was one of the nicest iv ever tasted. Good size portion definitely worth the money. The delivery man was so nice too! Il definitely be ordering again!

Went for the first time and the food was so good the meat was melting in my mouth and the rice had a kick but every mouthful was just amazing and the price was brilliant give the place a try and show some support to a great little place

Food quality wise, most of the food items were fine except for the pepper soup which we were (so not just a single persons opinion) quite disappointed by, it was heavily oily and not edible so we had to throw it away - unfortunately we had ordered 2 portions at about £25. Which is a shame that we lost £25. If anything can be done about this, we’d definitely appreciate it. Worth noting that we’ve ordered pepper soup twice previous to this experience, first experience was good and edible although we would have appreciated smaller meats and not mostly bones, second experience was perfect, edible and not much bones. Third experience as explained went straight to the bin and was massive bones. Not sure why there isn’t consistency. Regarding delivery, we’ve done this twice and both times the food has been 45mins to an hour later than the time that JustEat would have estimated (which will usually have already been atleast an hour after ordering anyway). This isn’t ideal especially in situations where you have a guest and you can’t wait for too long. So if there’s anything you can do to improve this, it’ll be highly appreciated. Otherwise, we do like everything else about your food and packaging etc, and would like to keep coming back, but please just improve on the above areas. Cheers

WOW! Absolutely delicious. Every item was packed with flavour and quality ingredients. A little sceptical at first as it seemed a bit pricy but portions were plenty and all of it was worth every penny. Even the presentation was outstanding. A little delayed but it didnt matter as the customer service was excellent. Well done to the chefs and staff. Definitely be ordering again!

We went here last weekend, to explore the newest cuisine in town. We were not disappointed, food was amazing, a friendly welcome and the longer wait - all is freshly prepared to your order- was brighten up by a little board game. Why not all 5⭐⭐?! It was a bit cold - the weather had turned and I guess being that early as we were the heating hasn't kicked in, which in turn gave the atmosphere a bit of - a chill!? Making the long wait for the food a bit of an endurance. That said, we loooved the food, it's a nice place and we will be definitely back for more!!!!!! With this, please give this amazingly exotic restaurant a visit, it counts and you would regret not having been there!!!

Food tasted incredible. Estimated to arrive at 8:45pm however arrived at 9:15pm but that’s absolutely fine. Slightly overpriced other than that, happy :)

First time trying Nigerian cuisine, very surprised on how tasty and flavourful it is. My favourite was the goat peppered soup. And all the meat dishes were cooked very tender and with great seasoning and spice.

This was my first time having African food and it was SO GOOD, it was so comforting I felt like a baby being rocked to sleep, the egusi soup and fufu was AMAZING,my boyfriend got the jollof rice and chicken and he said it was AMAZINGG. I was so full but forcing myself to finish it, portion size was great and all my love to the chef. DEFO RECOMMEND 🩷🩷🩷
