Visited with sister. Another excellent experience Well cooked and presented food - delicious tasting three course meal 7 pounds maximum. The students could not have been more attentive. To those who have not had the experience of taste go ! Well done to all the budding chefs....not forgetting the staff who train them. Congratulations. Well done !

Had lunch here with 3 friends. The service was excellent The food was excellent and the restaurant itself was very nicely laid out. The price was really excellent. You would never get a 3 course for the price. We will be back.

had first visit to the taste restaurant in cumbernauld. food was excellent for the price of the food is very reasonable all age groups even for anyone on a budget even just to meet friends for a catch up. but overall taste is a lovely friendly environment. staff are friendly with a relaxing family atmosphere

Came along today with my college class and had a wonderful meal, lovely attentive waiting staff, clean and friendly little place for food

The variety of food on offer, the ambience and the quality of the food is maintained at a highish level. Car parking can be difficult but free. Easy walking distance from the town centre. Buses pass right outside.

This restaurant always has excellent food and the service is first class. Could not do better in a Michelin star restaurant. Lovely atmosphere. The students do themselves proud.

Sabor es el restaurante la capacitación en el campus de la Universidad de cumbernauld. No imagino que una vez que se entra en el restaurante, pero es un poco de una caminata por 2 plantas y pasado el pelo y la sección de belleza de la universidad. Diciendo que todavía vale la pena el esfuerzo por la calidad de la comida, el ambiente relajado y la calidez de la bienvenida. Ya estamos planeando nuestra próxima visita.

Probado aquí debido a las recomendaciones en Tripadvisor, y estaba muy contento que hicimos! Esta es una idea fabulosa, con los estudiantes de la Universidad de cocina y presentando su propia comida en su propio restaurante. El personal de la casa, los estudiantes, la oportunidad de practicar sus habilidades también en los miembros del público. Toda la experiencia fue fabulosa. Disfrutamos especialmente de la terrina de arranque, y los postres eran excelentes, con la tarta de merengue de limón siendo mi favorito! Nos enteramos de que el sitio será autorizado a vender alcohol desde la próxima semana, así que incluso poder conseguir una copa de vino con la cena la próxima vez. Y sí, habrá una próxima vez, o dos! Increíble relación calidad-precio, 6 libras cada uno también por tres platos! Gracias!

This is the training restaurant on the Cumbernauld campus of New College Lanarkshire. You would not guess that from the quality of the food or the warmth of the welcome.It's obvious that the waiting staff are learning and a bit nervous at times. But so what? Well worth a visit

This is a training restaurant but apart from entering it from the college corridor you would never believe that you were in a training establishment. The menu is limited but the quality and portion sizes are not! It was amazing and as it is not licensed they do non alcoholic cocktails which as a driver are great. Great value for money - 3 courses for 3 people including tea and coffee and tips all for £30. Do yourself a favour and book a table!

This is a lovely wee restaurant with fantastic ambience and nice decor and unbelievable prices. The food is fantastic and service welcoming and efficient, well worth a try you will not regret!

Just discovered this wonderful wee place. Fantastic buffet lunch - many options, all very tasty. Caters for vegetarians and vegans (call ahead to let them know your requirements). Very attentive (although still learning) staff. £5.50 for 3 courses plus tea/ coffee at lunch. Can't recommend it enough!

I have been to Taste many times now and I have never been disappointed. It is a training restaurant so you have to bear with the students on service at times however we all had to learn at some point! The food is always exceptional and although it is a limited menu with only 2 options being given for each course they do cater to allergies, vegetarians etc as long as you say at the time of booking! £6 for 3 courses and bring your own bottle on a Thursday night there's no reason not to try Taste!

First time visit for 3 course lunch with mum and sister. We all felt the standard, taste, presentation and value were excellent! The ambience and decor of venue was good and the staff were professional and attentive. Although menu choice is limited I would still highly recommend and will return thanks.

Have now tried both the buffet and the 3 course lunch and have been impressed by the quality of the food and service. There is always a choice for each course and although unlicensed non alcoholic beer and mocktails can be had. The staff are very attentive and all in all it is a very pleasant lunch venue.

Taste is a training restaurant at New College Lanarkshire's Cumbernauld Campus. You have to navigate your way through college corridors but once you do, what you find is a lovely bright and cosy restaurant. The food and service is provided by current students at the College but you would never guess due to the level of professionalism. In February there was a special offer where we got 3 courses for £5 each. Absolute bargain. My partner and I ordered every dish from the menu (there were two of each course to choose from) so we had: Scotch broth soup, mushroom risotto, chicken chasseur, beef stroganoff, profiteroles and an apple tart. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. With the final bill coming to £12 including drinks, it was the cheapest meal and one of the best I've ever had.I can't wait to go back, it's a shame they are only open on Thursday evenings, so make sure you book in advance.

Visited taste tonight 5 star quality food. Standard brilliant it will be michelin star before long.service excellent I am completely overwhelmed by the standard and quality of the food. Presentation superb well done all front of house and in the kitchen :)) I will be back

Outstanding food and service. Couldn't fault the staff or the menu. Fantastic value for money. Would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere new to try. Will definitely be back again.

Been a while since I have visited this little gem and am now wondering why? This is a training restaurant in the local college but serves a better standard meal than many in the surrounding area. £5 gets you 2 courses or £6 for 3 courses of the most amazing quality food served in the style of a 4 star restaurant. Perfect sized portions with very attentive staff. You would be foolish not to try this place if you are in the vicinity......I will be back soon

This evening took the family to Taste Restaurant in Cumbernuald and we had a fantastic 3 course meal for only £6 per person. The food was of the same quality as some of the best restaurants in Glasgow and the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the serivce was first class. My wife and daughter had a mock cocktail that were delicious and I believe you will be able to get the real thing soon. Will be going back again in the near future.

The training restaurant in the college campus is a hidden gem. A great three course meal was only £6. The students are very attentive and the service is great. Highly recommended

today we had the most amazing three course meal in cumbernauld college for £6.00 each! no that is not a miss-print it was six quid each and the food presented to us was first class. its a shame that its not available till next term but i will certainly be going back, TASTE IS CUMBERNAULDS BEST KEPT SECRET!!!!!dont tell any one cos i want to keep it all to myself.....

I had a lunch meeting at Taste and was extremely impressed, not only by the surroundings and the staff but also the high quality of the food served. At just £6 for a delicious 3 course meal, it's a bargain to boot! Freshly cooked, well presented food served by friendly staffIf in Cumbernauld and looking for a quality lunch, give this place a go. You won't be disappointed but best to check the opening times or contact first.

To bad its not open a fri sat caz it would be jumping I uae to go to this collage for it to be on trip adviser is a bit over the top as its for training students but a good tool to get feed back from the public

just enjoyed a lovely little lunch at taste. nicely cooked quality food. good portions for a lunch. extremely fast and efficient service. very happy indeed. almost didn't want to write a review but only on a selfish level so we don't struggle to book tables in future (don't want everyone finding out about it haha). two of us had 3 courses and drinks and we left £18 which included a fiver tip, i've paid 10 times as much for meals of the same quality. ridiculous value for money clearly very little or no profits being made. will return again and again.

This is a college training restaurant which serves food that any restaurant would be proud to serve. The trainees were first class and the food was amazing. It is only a small restaurant which is usually full on the days it serves the public and I would think that booking is required as due to the high standard I would assume it is very popular. We will definitely be going back.

I discovered Taste after talking to some work colleagues about the training restaurant in Motherwell college, ML One, which I regularly visit, and am always blown away by its quality and value, only to find out that Cumbernauld College also has this same type of facility! I immediately looked into making a booking and nipped over for lunch one afternoon to try it out. The menu follows a similar style to that of ML One, with its bronze level students cooking and serving some fully flavorsome food at staggeringly low prices. I had 3 very good quality courses with coffee plus a diet coke for £7, amazing! Be sure to book in advance, I was only the second person in when I arrived, but the place soon filled up, so make a reservation first. They only seem to be open Wednesday and Thursday, and I'm not sure if its a new venture for the college, as ml one trades mon - fri, with silver level students giving a different menu over the bronze level, making it not too "samey", maybe next year when there is more experienced students it may expand. I should have asked the Lecturer who was on hand to help out, he did let me know they were joining up with Motherwell college next term, and also had plans to start some theme evenings and lunches which I have enjoyed tremendously at ML One in the past.Overall 5 stars, what the students lack in experience they more than make up for in enthusiasm and quality of food, and the value is simply superb, if you live or work in Cumbernauld, you really should check out Taste in future.

This is truly a fabulous find in Cumbernauld town centre for a 4 star lunch at 1 star prices. The ambience of the restaurant would fool you into thinking you we're in the city centre and the attention of the staff and students is balanced just right without being neglectful or invasive. The food is of a standard that many top restaurants would be proud to serve up and portion sizes are just perfect for lunchtime. We even had our Christmas office lunch here and will do so again. You have to remember it a training restaurant and it is the students who are serving and cooking but I cannot praise them enough even if there is the odd minor error! £5 for 2 courses and £6 for 3 courses.........totally worth the visit although it only open Wed and Thurs at moment and getting busier all the time as it becomes more talked about......maybe I should not be posting this after all!!!

Dropped in for a quick lunch and with prices at a fiver for two courses, excellent freshly cooked veg not the usual frozen stuff, quick and friendly service we were finished in just over half an hour.Give this place a go, don't think you'll be disappointed although check the dates or contact first as it's only open at certain times.

I have enjoyed many wonderful meals in The Taste over the years. I love the way they make the best of fresh seasonal ingredients. I don't eat meat and I know there will always be a delicious fish or vegetarian option. The mushroom risotto with fresh pesto I had recently was fantastic - I could really taste the fresh basil and pine nuts. Desserts are always excellent, too - beautiful tarte tatin. And the filter coffee is great.It's one of Cumbernauld's best kept secrets.

I found this restaurant whilst I was at Cumbernauld College getting my hair done in Fusion. From the moment that I walked in, I was met with smiley and professional students. Taste’s decor is fresh, with funky furniture and has a sense of quirkiness that is fun and intriguing. This fun personality was also reflected in my dishes when all three dishes were presented with a twist – e.g. steak pie was served in a small pot and potatoes carved into mushrooms. My cup of tea at the end of my meal was lipstick stained (not literally – it was a design feature!). It was the intention to detail, the amazing mouth-watering tastes and the friendly service that has ensured that I will be visiting this wee gem time and time again! Not to mention that a three course meal only costs £6!
