TAS Turkish Restaurant in Sutton

I popped down to London from Cornwall this week, so my stepdad and we decided to have a dinner out, and this place was recommended to us, and BOY WAS I BLOWN AWAY! Incredible service from the floor team, great drinks (Peroni, Efes lager, Pornstar Martini), and the FOOD. We had the cold meze platter to start and the TAS platter for a main and WHEN I TELL YOU THE FLAVOUR WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD! Higher prices than you’d expect BUT I would happily pay even more for the amazing quality food we received. GO TO THIS RESTAURANT WHENEVER YOU CAN! Would rate 10 stars if I could!

The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was very nice! The portions were excellent value for money and were well enjoyed by the whole family. A must get is the ballon bread!

We visited the “new” Tas, great renovation, nice amount of space, love the best bar area and the outside dining.The food was as good as ever, we had lamb chops, cooked well and a decent amount. I’ve reviewed Tas previously and the food is the same quality.Lots of new staff, all seemed pleasant and professional. A really nice touch was our waitress Anna introduced herself and we were able to ask a couple of questions about the “new” Tas.However, our evening was spoilt having to witness, who I believed to be the owner quite often and publicly enough for us to notice berate our waitress. This is totally unprofessional and hearing “move faster” comments and quite clear irritation with from what I can see hardworking staff is not acceptable. You make your customers feel awkward if they want further assistance and I’m sure it’s unpleasant for the staff.I like to go to a restaurant that has a good working ethos, where the atmosphere of the staff and owner is happy and welcoming.

Lovely food but our order was completely wrong. Very disappointing. Appreciate they were busy but this shouldn’t impact on customer experience

I recently visited the newly refurbished Tas Restaurant with my husband . We were very impressed by the new decor inside & out. The service was excellent , all staff were attentive, friendly & polite & a the restaurant had a great atmosphere. We had starters & a main course ( Chicken Shish ) & it was the best we had ever tasted . We will definitely be returning & will be recommending to friends & family .

We stupidly ordered our food via Uber Eats & was given a delivery time of 15mins. 1hr and 50mins later we still hadn’t received our food. We called Tas directly & spoke to the manager Turan, he explained that our food was ready but Uber had failed to send a driver. He explained that they do this regularly & businesses are loosing out as customers believe it’s the restaurants fault & not Uber’s. He had already made a complaint on our behalf to Uber. He said we too should complain which of course we did. Uber cancelled our order. We called Tas back to apologise for wasting their food & time & was blown away by Turan’s response. He offered to deliver our food to us on completely free. When we received our food it didn’t disappoint, excellent portion size, excellent quality, excellent flavours and he has kept it as warm as he possibly could under the circumstances. In this time when hospitality has been so badly hit our Local Restaurants need all the support they can. With outstanding food to match the service Tas will definitely receive our custom again and again

Bad Points: poor value for money. Chicken portions tiny. Sauces and condiments are bland. No free drink for £30 order Good points: halal, bread is good, lots of salad. Nice presentation

Wasn’t able to gain access to the restaurant as I had a jumper on that had my company’s logo. Didn’t realise I was going to the ritz and not a kebab shop with tables.

We recently ordered a take away for our family of 5 we ordered the mixed platter. I have to say the service was great and food was amazing! Really cooked wonderfully good portion we have loads of leftovers. They make their bread on site which was so fluffy and soft much better than other food places which use bread out of a packet. Really would recommend and visit again!

we ordered a delivery..it was the smallest size portion I have ever had..meat was dry and cold .....the photo you are looking at is a small chicken shish for £8.50...!!!!

We were invited by our good friends mr & Mrs Hinch to go to T A S for a meal , Our friends said it was just like the great food they had in turkey and was a really nice place.We was not expecting to much as we thought it was just a normal kebab shop with table and chairs etc. To our surprise as we entered the 5 star food hygiene rated restaurant, the decor was great, nice and clean and surprisingly a large seating area.As we walked passed the open glass fronted grill towards our table we were seated by the wood fired oven . We had a selection of starters, different main meals each including salmon, complementary puffed up bread ,, from start to finish the food was delicious , well presented and generous portions, I’m a fussy git and can always find something to moan about , but if your reading this your wasting your time! You should be on your way to T A S north Cheam for a treat !!!

Visited on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered chicken kebabs, very generous portion served with rice, salad etc. Very tasty. Husband had a lamb dish wrapped in aubergine, an unusual dish but he raves about it. Recently returned from a holiday in Turkey, and would say the food was authentic and if not better than some of the meals we ate in Turkey. Will definitely visit again soon.

I have been here many times before. Tonight they failed dismally. We booked for a special family dinner and the service was so awful, took 2 hours for our mains to arrive and we had 4 kids with us. So disappointed, I’m afraid I won’t be going back. The staff were disinterested and we refused to pay the service, they didn’t even ask why. Such a shame as the food is really good. Totally ruined what should have been a really special evening. Thanks for nothing.

A long overdue revisit and pleased to report that everything is still great here. The food is very fresh, tasty, authentic and healthy. Service is always warm and friendly. Excellent value for money. It's probably worth booking in advance as even mid-week it tends to be quite full and busy. Still highly recommended.

We went with my friend for dinner tonight (28.September) ...We thought it's going to be good choice because place is really nice, tidy and staff was kind. We've chosen a pasta with salmon. We thought salmon is always a good choice - but we've been wrong. When the food have came to our table, it was HORRIBLE smell!!! It's also include a peppers - I am allergic for them (it is not mention in the menu). My friends didn't like that pasta - it was really bad smell and taste wasn't nice! We are wondering what could smell that much in pasta with creamy sauce and salmon??? They've made me new pasta without peppers but that smell was still same. Pasta was overcooked and salmon wasn't even tasty - there was a skin left but the skin was so slimy!! I just ate the plain pasta and ask for the bill. I'm sorry to write this - but you just can't serve anything like this!!!!

Having eaten in Tas on a few occasions, we ordered a takeaway for a small dinner party. The food was bagged up and ready on collection. We live a short drive away, however, when we unpacked the food it was cold, it was obviously ready long before the agreed collection time. We ordered the cold meze for four, all the dishes were put into one big box, not individual pots, so by the time we got it home, all the dishes were mixed together. The four pitta's were like loaves of bread, really thick and heavy. The Iskender(lamb doner), ordered two, was a box of sliced dry lamb, no tomato sauce and tea spoon of yoghurt, it looked like it had been thrown in the box, it was awful. the Chicken Delight was cold, very little chicken, the cold rice was gloopy and stuck together. The only meal that was ok (ish) was the mixed grill. This takeaway cost £70, we were robbed, if we'd gone to our Indian we would have had a feast for that money!

Visited with family. Ordered large mix grill plater. Food was excellent and service very good. Cost about £50 for four persons. Place is tight. Small sitting space outside overall good experience

this was a Surprise meal for my Half Brother Peter Birthday Treat and it went well 79 yrs 23/05/2019. we all had a great time and the Staff and Chef were great the Turkish food was brilliant

A very enjoyable Sunday lunch. We had Meze starters for two, very tasty with a big flatbread. The chicken kebab comes with rice, salad and bread. 2 skewers of chicken, so generous portion. We also had rack of lamb which comes with salad and chips. That was tasty and generous as well.

Had food from the set menu. Very attractive ambience. Tables had linen table clothes and serviettes. Hummus, olives and bread provided as starter. Excellent range of mezze and main choices, lots of veg options. Food freshly cooked, beautifully presented, tasty. Service fast and efficient. Very good value.Thank you

I booked a table for 5 people, when I got there they were unsure of the booking and even though there was plent of tables visibly available, they told me I could only have a table for 4. Which made no sense as I was with a party of 5. I’d heard such good reviews and was really looking forward to it. The server wasn’t friendly and lead to me being unfriendly towards him. I went to Sofra grill in Sutton who seated us straight away and served us a perfect dinner which I would highly recommend.

For some reason I never leave reviews for restaurants right on my doorstep, I only ever seem to do it for holiday restaurants. But the food here was so good I thought i'd better change that.

Went here for my son-in-laws birthday on 17th march 2019,food was excellent so much of it waiters are very helpful all in all very good value for money.

Went with a friend on a Tuesday evening early and the place was almost full. A good recommendation for a night early in the week. Nice staff greated in a friendly way The food we chose was hot fresh and plentiful which went well with a nice bottle of wine. Very buzzy feel and many people obviously went there often Heard a couple sayng that the lunch special is extremely good value for money. Woul ddefinately go again. Probably book if you want a definate table at the weekend.

I come to this restaurant a lot. There is loads of choice on the menu and the food is great. Good service and a great restaurant.

I have been here several times with friends and family over the past few years and every time we have been here the food has been fantastic. We have never had a disappointing experience so far. We always get the mixed grill which comes with salad and rice which is just scrumptious and the balloon bread and starters are all fab too. Make sure to make reservations as this place is popular and as the inside is small it gets full fast especially during the weekends. They have a belly dancing on Wednesdays and Saturdays which is good fun. This is my favourite restaurant in Sutton truly a hidden gem.

My first visit: Kofte, Lamb Shish, Chicken Shish, Donor with salad, bread and rice. A 8/10, salad could have done with cabbage & onion in addition. Big portion with enough left over for another solo meal. The donor was sliced lamb not processed more typical donor meat made with fat added. Good flavour overall. Very slightly dry lamb. Also 4- chicken wings included.

Wow wow wow the food and service is amazing. Food fresh and cooked in front of you at the grill. The meals are huge so no need for a starter. Service is friendly and welcoming. Can’t recommend this place enough

Friendly staff, good food, topical Turkish. You can go f oh r ordinary dinner but not on a special occasion.

I am a regular fan of Tas but I have gone into the restaurant and ordered take away on a Thursday at 5pm when it was very quiet. I waited over 35 minutes for 2 kebabs- appalling customer service - standards have dropped considerably

My partner and I finally managed to get a booking for this restaurant, I can understand why this place is so popular, the food is amazing and great value for money

My daughter ordered take-out delivery for four of us. Definitely a good quality and value meal. We will be ordering again next time we visit the area.

Come here on 4th sept for wedding meal and roughly bout 30 of us. Food was amazing had nice time staff was friendly and the atmosphere will defo return.

Visited her on Friday 17th Aug. Had a wonderful meal and the service was great. We've eaten here many times and the quality never diminishes. Top food and just around the corner. What more could you ask for.

We've eaten here a few times and the food never disappoints. Good range on the menu and reasonably priced. A great serving of salad with the meal. I like the open kitchen so you can watch them cooking the kebab skewers.

This Turkish restaurant has just undergone a complete refurbishment and now has an open plan kitchen so that you can see what is going on. Staff are friendly and efficient. Food is excellent and the portions are large.

My wife and I went here for dinner, unannounced and on a busy night but they managed to fit us in at the back of the restaurant. I thought for a minute we would be forgotten about, it felt a little bit out of the way of the main restaurant and on a lower floor level. The service was actually very good and attentive and to be honest the small space lower down at the back turned out to feel a little exclusive and was very comfortable.

After a long evening visiting at the hospital I stopped to grab a take away. Had a small chicken shish & it was delicious,great salad & lovely bread (not your normal pitta) will definitely be going back.

Fabulous authentic Turkish food, felt like I was on my holidays all over again. Best Turkish cuisine and the best prices. They do the best lamb or chicken kebabs, mezes both hot and cold and their Taz platters have all the meat you can handle! They serve Turkish puff bread with dips with every meal. They also have Efes draft beer. When I say authentic I mean authentic.

Close to Tottenham Court Road among the maddening crowds just behind the bouquets and pot trees theres a food joint called “Tas” in Turkish meaning rock or stone . Perfectly made , deliciously tasted, well presented everything in right amount of time . My favourite here is Iskender Kebap and lentil soup. The yummmy home made hummus with bread and garlic infused olive oil was the perfect meal in then windy and cold days.

Went as a foursome. Lovely freshly cooked food with plenty of side dishes to go for. Good quality wine as well. Wednesday is belly dancing evening so if you want a peaceful evening avoid Wednesdays.

The food here is very good and reasonably priced. The staff are kind and attentive and the wait for food is not long at all. They always serve you with bubble bread (a Turkish delicacy) which seems to be free of charge. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is vibrant, especially during the summer. Ordered a take away from here. The food was okay but had better elsewhere. Ordered a shish kebab and rice. The shish was a little bit dry and cooked with loads of little chilli peppers which were a little bit too much and the Turkish pide was a tad dry. The rice was only 3/4 full, tasty but a bit bland by the end. Like I said, it was okay but not my cup of tea.

I've visited this restaurant 4 times in total and each time it has been superb.

This is great family place the food is superb tasty different the staff are funny but very helpful and occasionally when we have been there and a belly dancer comes in to entertain all the customers she gets people up to dance my son's had a go and he like the others thoroughly enjoy it great restaurant great staff.

This can be a busy place particularly in the evenings, but that is why it is so good! Amazing authentic tasty food in plentiful supply, and friendly service. Try dropping in at lunch time for a special treat and the price deals are excellent.

A fabulous lunch 3 courses £6.95 excellent selection of food. The house wine which is Turkish is very good value for money. The staff are friendly and attentive. Will definitely be visiting again with my husband. Thank for a lovely meal and making us feel so welcome.

This is a "Must Try Restaurant " . I think the food is getting better and Better ! . As for Value for money , if you have the Turkish Platter , it is the same cost as a Carvery AND you will never finish all the food offered. I enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere and the staff never seem to change , so the Boss must be a good guy! Also , have attended the Wednesday belly dancing entertainment , with the beautiful Melissa . Love this place , the customers needs always come FIRST .

Came here on Sunday afternoon for my partners birthday celebration with her family. We have been here before and the food is really tasty and well cooked. The meat has some nice caramelisation from the grilling but still remains nice and tender and juicy. The portion sizes definitely are large as well which is good for those with a hearty appetite. The accompaniments to the meal (usually salad and a rice bulgar wheat mix) are also nice and tasty. Most people cleared their plates totally and what wasn't we got packaged up for a snack later on.

Second visit to this restaurant and I am as pleased as the first one. Staff very friendly and despite the staple foods being meat dishes there is also a decent vegetarian variety to choose from on the menu.

Went here after work one evening and the food was really tasty.The food is cooked in a kitchen that all can see into and cooked to order so it is fresh. Local Turkish beer available to drink as well. Noticed that there was a stream of people coming in for a take away which is ordered at the front of the restaurant so you may have a delay whilst your food is cooked.

We wanted a takeaway for a family birthday gathering but wanted to steer away from Chinese and curry. Having eaten in Tas before, we decided to give their takeaway service a go. We were not disappointed.The food was hot and plentiful, I had done extra's like humus, takziki olives and pitta etc. but it was not really necessary as the take away portions were very good. The meat was lovely and tender and the salad very tasty. The food comes in a box with the bread separately. If you have a wrap, obviously the meat and salad is already in the wrap. Take away for 9 of us came to £67 which is excellent value and if the prices remain reasonable, we will definitely be back for more.

My visit yesterday was my second time to this lovely Turkish Restaurant. My sister and I decided to try their excellent lunch menu comprising of 3 courses for £6.95! We both opted for the grilled Hallumi starter which was perfectly grilled drizzled with olive oil, on a fresh crunchy salad, accompanied by warm bread. I plumped for the chicken shish shawarma. The chicken was succulent and the bread it was wrapped in was absolutely delicious. Although The baklava dessert looked wonderful and tempting I decided to be good and had a coffee instead. The value of this lunch menu is just brilliant. The staff are very accommodating and friendly and the service was excellent.

We went here with family on a Tuesday night, glad we booked as it was so busy, the staff were very helpful, polite and were always around even though it was very busy, so was very easy to order food and drinks, food was lovely very fresh and very tasty, we have been back since and was also a great Experiance, lovey food lovely staff we will definitely return

One of waiters complained that I used too much water in toilet after he noticed I 've been to toilet three times to wash my face as it was so hot inside.How pathetic they are!I won't go there again!

Thankfully we arrived about 6.45 and despite not having booked we were able to enjoy a great meal before 8.00 deadline.

Best Turkish food I've ever had . Quick service and everything 10/10. Mixed grill and moussaka were fabulous . Also recommend the mini pizzas for starters - will definitely be returning very soon

Me and my family went here with some friends as well the food was excellent as was the staff,that looked after us very well. The food all came out together,even when there was a load of us.Was not disappointed with the food lovely would be going back again.

Decent food, nice people.We were trying to find a decent place to eat after a visit at the british museum. This restaurant turned out to be in the right location because we were not ready to walk a lot.Decent food, nothing specacular, nice people serving.

Have been here a couple of times now and the food is absolutely fantastic! We had the sharing platter(every meat you can think of) and it comes with a gorgeous salad and bread with sauces for dipping. They also make awesome coffees - being irish as i am i plumped for the irish one - and was very impressed.Great value for money, great service and great food!

I visited TAS in Cheam with a friend we found the staff very friendly an attentive. We were surprised to receive warm Turkish Pitta with dips which was lovely. The main courses was excellent massive portion for me I had chicken Shish and my friend had Moussaka which we she said was lovely. We didn't had a dessert but followed by coffee. A very enjoyable evening I would highly recommend look forward to going again. Food was reasonably priced. I think they close 10.30 mid week as they were waiting for us to leave.

It was fabulous never had Turkish food but loved it. It was a Sunday and not many places near Waterloo Station were open but this was a winner. Great food, cheap but good house wine.

We celebrated a birthday meal. They were acomodated and helpful. The food tasty but nothing extraordinary. Will be back there for sure
