TAS Restaurant Bloomsbury in Camden

Always a pleasure to visit my namesake. Food, staff and atmosphere excellent as always. If you’re visiting the British Museum then it’s just on the corner there and they’ll always try and accommodate if you haven’t made a booking.

A very lovely Turkish restaurant. The service was exceptional, and the food was equally impressive. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a menu full of authentic Turkish dishes.

He saved us with his soup on a lunch when we were bored of eating dry food all the time. We only drank soup. It was delicious. I'm sure their other dishes are also very good.

I had a lovely dining experience at Tas Restaurant. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, with authentic flavors . Our waiter, Harun, was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making our visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend both the restaurant and Harun’s excellent service!

The only nice part of this restaurant is it is close to the hotel. Service was mixed, many were not very friendly, one guy was. The chairs were exceedingly uncomfortable. The restaurant was very hot, despite it not being hot outside. But the food was very unfortunate. The meat had no flavor or seasoning. The walnut tomato salad was fine. The prawns starter not salted at all. The kunafe though was horrendous and so bad it made me write this review. It clearly had been cooked days before, the cheese in some spots had a rotten smell and taste. And it was definitely not cooked fresh over charcoal like the menu advertised, probably heated in the microwave and it wasn’t even served hot or heated enough to melt the cheese. Would not recommend and won’t be returning.

The waiters are very polite. The food was at a level that would satisfy one's longing for the country. Iskenderi lentil soup and bread was delicious. I can't say that fish and chips was very successful.

The best restaurant in London, Suhay bro is the staff there

such a calm and beautiful place with delicious turkish cuisine and wonderful pasta, i have been there several times, and the most favorite one for me is chicken pasta.

Popped by after a visit to the British Museum for lunch and had a fabulous meal. Service was exceptional (I particularly appreciate they leave you to enjoy your company and your meal and are there just when you need them). We ate off the prix fixe menu which I felt was good value for the quality of food, choice and location. I had the prawn casserole, which was superb. The starters and olives were also top quality. Thanks for the pleasant atmosphere and service. I will be back as it is conveniently located to the Museum.

Decent food but didn’t have a good selection of drinks. I would go again for the meal

I don't wish to be impolite and will state that the atmosphere and staff seem good, despite one waitress who continually ignored us. Anyhow, irrespective of this, my friend and I ordered red lentil soup and grilled chicken with rice. Firstly, to point out the bread served was cold, secondly the red lentil soup seem undercooked and like it had been mixed with cheap shop bought soup. Thirdly, the mains were a joke, the portion (far to little chicken for the price) and on top of this the chicken, had no taste to it. Bland is the word that comes to mind. For the price of 23.50, this is blind day robbery. I think there are far better places to eat in London and I would ask you to kindly avoid because you will leave like you've eaten a small portion of tasteless food. Edit: after receiving your feedback, no your waitress ignored us on multiple occasions, so how can we complain if no one is bothering with us, NO YOUR BREAD WAS ON BOTH OCCASIONS. VERY STUPID RESPONSE.

Delicious food and good services

It was really bad experience, the chicken was dry and we asked for big water the dishes wasn’t not clean.. I really didn’t like it at all

The atmosphere and service were nice, but we didn't like the meatballs. They were too hard. Lentil soup was good.

Been here before, food OK...kofta pretty good and coffee very good. Prices are relatively high but good portion size. Big disappointment was over the bill. I noticed we had been undercharged by 1 coffee. I thought it would be honest and helpful to point this out but I wish I hadn't bothered. The member of staff seemed irritated when he went to correct the bill, certainly no "thankyou". On return with corrected bill, still no thankyou so I did suggest it might be an appropriate response. Still no thankyou. He blamed the till, "sometimes you enter 2 and ut comes up with 1"...not really interested. Just thought it would be nice to have some acknowledgement...apology for error. Thank you for pointing it out. A good response might even have been a oh thankyou don't worry about it...but no. So if you are under charged, I suggest you just keep quiet. !

Their desserts are really delicious.

The food was good but the portions & prices left a lot to be desired. Their dishes have only a couple pieces of meat on them.

Came here for a small birthday celebration. Great range of Turkish food: fish, chicken, lamb vegetarian and vegan. This TAS does do desserts but they were happy to let us bring our own birthday cake. Good service.

Beautiful restaurant, attentive service , friendly manager. He look after us very well.

Brother, we ordered mixed kebab and he gave us one piece of meat and a quarter of meatballs and the waiter was very cold and said kapa. I definitely do not recommend it and the prices are very expensive.

Lovely restaurant, food was great we had dinner for two. The meze for 2 was amazing. Service was excellent and food given in perfect timing. Will certainly visit again.

As a vegetarian I was spoilt for choice.....the staff were amazing and the atmosphere wonderful.

The food was decent. The service was a little bit on the slow side considering how quiet it was at the time. When it came to ordering dessert, there was no Moscato despite it being on the menu. We all ordered cheesecake, which on the menu had no nuts. However when it arrived and I double checked with waiter it didn't have nuts, he said he would check. Five mins later and he comes back and says the recipe has changed so he can't be sure it doesn't have nuts. For safety I avoided having it. Any changes to a dish should be reflected by a review of the allergens displayed on menu.

Really good food, a set menu but with extensive choice, very quick service that was incredibly well organised. Servers who were just on it. Managed well and efficiently.

Had delicious Turkish cuisine. Food, service, and atmosphere, everything was perfect. Especially you must try baklava 😋. Me and my wife's favourite place.

Really poor food - like a Kebab house & £85 for 2 people. Squid was undercooked & dripping in grease

This is a nice warm place serving good Turkish dishes. We were happy to find good vegan options. The staff is kind and very helpful. They are not crowded and are comfortable to sit and dine with your friends or family. The location is at the junction of Gt. Russel Street and Bloomsbury, and very close to the British Museum.

The best turkish food I've had in London with great options for meat eaters, veggies and vegans like. Mix of mezze and bigger meals with generous portions, perfectly cooked. I would say the servers/managers could perhaps smile a little more but the service was efficient and attentive - and the food, well, incredible. Amazing Turkish restaurant can’t fault anything, perfect food and perfect service

Unlike other TAS restaurants, this one isn’t particularly great. We ordered vegan meze as my friend is vegan and they served yoghurt. We had already started to dig in before we were told. Luckily not an allergy, but not great. Careful if you have dietary requirements!

Not very tasty, the mutton has no mutton flavor and the sausage is too salty

Food was great, the service was amazing, we had a party of about 40 people and they did amazing, food came out fast too. The only reason why I'm giving food a 4 is because the chocolate cake was too dry but besides that everything was perfect.

Walked in hoping for a table, they managed to squeeze us in on a Saturday night. The food is beautiful, we had a starter and a main which is more than enough will definitely be returning.

Food was fantastic. Everything had a distinct flavor and texture. Food was fresh and was served quickly. As reasonably priced as anything in the area. The apricot dessert with fresh cream and crushed pistachio was the perfect finish. A wonderful first experience with Turkish/Anatolian cuisine.

We went back to this Tas branch (Bloomsbury) after a few years' absence and it was great. Excellent food and service and reasonable price, especially given its location near the British Museum. We'll definitely go back!

Great location and better choice for a large group than a couple.

We had our Christmas dinner here, service was great, food very decent quality. Nothing special, but a very safe bet in this area.

Terrible representation of Turkish food, went there with three friends, tasteless. Quite disappointed as took two friends but both did not enjoy. Do not recommend Only good think was soup

Had the PATLICAN EZMELI KOFTE. Paid close to £30 for my meal. Lamb was dry, aubergine sauce was plain and too smoky, couscous was nothing to be excited about. The portion was quite small for what you’re paying. Quite absurd. Not returning. 2 stars.

Disappointed - the borek pastry was not cooked and when we explained to the waiter why we hadn't eaten it, he just looked at us and cleared our table. No apology or offer to replace it or remove from the bill. The courgette fritters were damp and not crispy. Expensive for not terribly good food, I'm afraid 😞

Very nice Turkish food. All inclusive menu is fairly priced. Fast service from friendly staff.

Not what it used to be. Service wasn't great, very slow. Meals were not like other independent Turkish/Persian places. Portion sizes small and overpriced. I had the Iskender which was so overpriced - Bread was burnt and solid, almost stale which when covered in a sauce makes no sense! Toilet downstairs was grotty too.

Really delicious and authentic food with a huge variety of meat and vegetarian dishes. Every dish was a favorite and we appreciated the punctual service so we could get back to the museum. A wonderful restaurant!

Les repas sont très copieux et délicieux ! Les prix sont raisonnables pour l’emplacement ( entre British museum et Oxford street) l’intérieur est plutôt sympa le personnel n’était pas souriant mais serviable en revanche nous avons était surpris lors du paiement des «services charges » en plus de 4.24£ plutôt surprenant

The food was good but the size of the food portion are not represent the real rurkish food.They are so small.

Lovely food overall - meat dishes very generously sized, my vegan salad was a bit meanly sized and not super fresh. Service nice but super grumpy Maitre - like does a smile cost to greet customers? Lunch deal very good value!

I have tasted Kofte and Somon Yahni. Kofte plate was amazing, meat was delicious and very suitable with couscous and seasonings. I can say the same thing for Somon Yahni. It was not only super delicious but was a great combination with spinach. Even though the lentil soup is a bit below my expectations, the general experience and atmosphere was very good.

This was my first time at a Turkish restaurant and I was not disappointed. The Food was really good and the service was excellent.

The food was OK, but the service and restaurant itself were neglected. I was expecting better.

Weekday evening visit for a group meal, I was very happy with my choice (tas iskender) but other main dishes chosen by others seemed a bit dry. The bread and dip served at the start was lovely. Prices normal for the area, although our first bill was wrong as it included 2 bottles of wine not 1. Swiftly rectified once spotted. Friendly and quick service, I’d return.

We stumbled upon it after a trip to the British Museum with my daughter. The food is great and the staff is incredibly attentive. I would definitely recommend it. My daughter is very picky about food. She loved the place and the food.

Lovely food!! So many vegetarian options! Loved the service and the why the food was put up!

Fantastic meal. Warm welcome on arrival and prompt service.l enjoyed falafel and then patlicanli kofte. My wife enjoyed cacik followed by coban kavurma. We would heartily recommend these. The house red was good value. The atmosphere was convivial but not pretentious. All in all, a totally enjoyable experience.

Delicious food. Stuffed grape leaves, bread, olives, and baklava were amazing. We treated this place like a tapas (small plates) restaurant which isn't, but I'm sure all it's other dishes are great. Decor is quite nice as well.

Lovely fresh Turkish food steps from British Museum. Service is super quick and friendly. They have special menu choices were you can choose from mezzes and mains. Vegetarians will be in heaven.

Nothing to fault about this restaurant. The food was excellent and the staff was very attentive. The hummus was particularly good and had a rich taste of sesame. The lamb meatballs were very juicy and served with a tomato-ey vegetable stew. Definitely a restaurant I would visit again.

Went here after seeing a west end show as it was in close proximity. Was nice and quiet as we went a little earlier. Staff were very friendly and quick service. Very tasty food aswell. Would definitely recommend this place.

I order just a juice .. but the lady in the reception meet me like unwelcome and when I ask for just a juice she says only I say yes then she says for take-way I said no inside she offer me a table in the corner like I'm a delivery man and when she took the order from another table she looks very serious so guests don't feel comfortable .. this is shamed on a Restuarant got stars in trip advisor

Very delicious food at a good price. I left something behind by mistake and they kept it behind the counter for me on my return.

Surprisingly light or perhaps non-existent salt in everything I ordered today for the set lunch. At 33.5 quid, this is a bit pricey for what I’d describe as good but not great or particularly interesting.
