This is honestly one of my favourite spots when I visit the North Coast. It always feels special and the staff are so welcoming and attentive! The food is top notch and never disappoints. I would recommend to anyone, but word of advice book early to avoid disappointment as they are super busy this time of year.

An exceptional restaurant, what makes it exceptional is not only the quality of the food, the value for money but the ambience and engaging experience with the Management Team, Paul, Colin and the floor staff. Nothing is a problem for these professionals in their industry, probably the experience is made more memorable by the team work they display along with the customer interaction, craic!!

The warmest of welcomes on a cold Wednesday night set the scene for a delightful dining experience at Tartine. After various recommendations for this restaurant my wife and I decided to try it out for ourselves on a visit to Bushmills from Belfast. We soon realised what all the fuss was about - for us it ticked all the boxes! Spoilt for choice with a comprehensive and competitively priced menu to suit all tastes we opted for starters of king prawn and crab cocktail along with cheese croquettes. Both dishes tasted as good as they looked. For the main event I chose a succulent and generously sized rump of lamb with a rich and flavoursome silky smooth jus. This was complimented by a moreish cauliflower cheese with pancetta mash and root vegetables. My wife’s main course of monkfish with herb risotto, garlic king prawns and sapphire was equally impressive. Both mouthwatering meals were washed down with a cracking NZ Sauvignon blanc. And something special to share for an unforgettable sweet finish… a melt in the mouth Bakewell tart with black cherries that was simply to die for. The perfect place to be - we look forward to many more visits to Tartine. Special thanks on the night to Colin, the 2 Rebeccas and Ellie.

Visited the Restaurant on Valentines night and I can honestly say it was one of the nicest meals I have had in a very long time. I had prawns for starters and Sirloin for mains. Both were exceptional the nicest steak I have tasted in years. The sweet was a sharing platter and work of art. Staff were so friendly and efficient and the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming. There’s no doubt we’ll be back. Thanks folks for a lovely evening.

Thoroughly Recommend. Staying in Bushmills for the weekend and booked a table for 8 in the restaurant. We had never been before and I had never heard of Tartine. Went for the early dining menu which was delicious for all of our party as well as being excellent value at around £25 for 2 courses including wine or beer. Add to this some super friendly staff and you have a top notch restaurant which is well worth a visit. Will be back very soon! Thank you Tartine

Eventually got a table here for Sunday lunch a couple of weeks ago. Disappointed with our meal…. The menu reads very well but we discovered it’s a 2 course or 3 course menu, all we wanted was one course. We ordered starters, as neither of us are very keen on desserts. By the time the main course arrived we didn’t have an appetite. I had the “Tranche of Salmon on Baked Seafood Thermidor” in other words a Salmon Fillet on a gloppy sauce with next to no seafood in it! Not what I was expecting. My friend had the lamb and again it was disappointing and not what was expected. We sat in a room which was an appendage of the main dining area mainly by ourselves!, there was a nice fire and the staff were friendly. Finally other customers joined us but by then we were nearly finished. In total it was a disappointing experience.

Probably the best restaurant on the North Coast. Great quality food and the most pleasant, attentive and polite waiting staff (congratulations to the delightfully well-mannered waitresses, who clearly take a pride in offering hospitality). Amongst a wide range of dining options, Tartine has quickly become our 'go to' of choice. A gracious and accommodating manager keeps a watchful eye that the highest standards are being maintained. We enjoyed another fabulous Sunday lunch with good friends, seated beside a warming log fire. Thank you, Tartine, for helping to create another memorable occasion. And, of course, compliments to the chef(s)! We will be back.

If there is somewhere better locally for treating yourself to a special and memorable meal I have yet to find it. It's a pity I'm only allowed to award 5 stars because it is worth more than that. Staff are professional and welcoming and the atmosphere in the dining room is relaxed. The early bird menu is a winner for early diners but you can also order off the main menu for a more extensive choice. Without a doubt this is a top notch restaurant as evidenced by the fact that it is quite difficult to get a booking unless you book several weeks ahead.

I have always loved this restaurant and visited many times, however, our last visit was not the usual experience. We were seated at the front of the restaurant which hasn’t got the same atmosphere as the main part of the building. Not a big issue as we were there for the food. I would have preferred not to have had the mussel shells from the previous diner under my feet though. I can’t remember what our starters were (says a lot) but we ordered steak and pork as mains. I didn’t try the steak so wouldn’t be fair to comment but there wasn’t much feed back other than ‘I’ve had better and you couldn’t eat the mushrooms’. The pork was well cooked but the rest of the plate not so much. The black pudding was completely dried out and the cabbage and bacon was very oily, both inedible unfortunately. For the first time we had no dessert. When asked if we enjoyed our meal we said it was just ok, no response from the staff we paid our bill and left. I appreciate views are subjective and maybe because I love Tartine so much it was a sore disappointment.

How can a small town like Bushmills have three such good restaurants: The French Rooms, the Bushmills Hotel and the Distillers Arms? I guess tourists. We went to all three on three consecutive nights. The Bushmills was almost twice the cost of the other two (£224 versus £120 and £130) but was the best. Each evening, these bills were for four people, three courses, we are reasonable drinkers. If you want the treat go to the Bushmills, but you will have really good food, good choices, good ambiance and excellent service at all three.

The restaurant t offers an "early dinner special" from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. (2 selections with wine for 16 pounds sterling). We arrived at 6:15 and were told that they were short staffed and could not serve us until 7:15. We agreed to wait until that time. We enquired if we would receive the early dinner special and were told that the "special" ended at 6:30 and would not be served to us at 7:15. No accommodation for us in spite of us being in the restaurant before the 6:30 cut off time. This is a bad attitude for a business in the hospitality industry. We happily found the Bayview Hotel just outside of Bushmills and enjoyed the most delicious meal at a table with a water view. Service and food were exceptional. We suggest that you enjoy your meal at the Bayview and forego the arrogance at Tartine. No meal is worth that!

Supposedly #1 in Bushmills? So says trip advisor, but when we mentioned we were eating here the owner of our B and B said nothing. That was our first clue. Its supposed to be nice but there are no tablecloths and the wooden tables are ordinary. It doesn't feel like a pricey restaurant. It feels to me more like a family restaurant. I don't think they've done enough with the décor. The food is decent but I thought it was pricey for what you got. We wished we had tried the Bushmills Inn which a local said was better.

Called in here, attracted by the sign outside advertising a special early evening menu. We didn't have a reservation, but thought we'd inquire about a table anyway. The place seemed fairly busy, though not packed. My wife spoke to a member of staff at the bar, who was friendly and said he would check whether there was anything available. He hardly got a chance to move when a man beside him (who may have been the manager) said something about an hour. When my wife asked him to clarify what he had said, he replied abruptly without making any eye contact, that it would be at least an hour before there was a table.I can accept that we had no reservation, that we could have expected a wait, that he might not even be able to offer us a table at all; but manners cost nothing! What a difference it would have made if he had just taken a moment to speak properly to my wife. We went elsewhere and were served by a young woman who could have taught him a thing or two about customer service - indeed he could have learned something from his colleague at the bar in his own restaurant - it'll probably be a while before we return. Maybe he was just having a bad day...

We visited this restaurant for our 30th wedding anniversary with our son and were initially pleasantly surprised with the ambience. We were shown to a table that was beside a wall where there was evidence of food splashed on it and was rather off putting. Although the menu was varied we were disappointed that bread was not offered and the list of negatives at the end of the menu left an unpleasant impression. The demand that we were only allowed 2 hours seemed reasonable but we discovered that the slow service meant that we were almost up to the limit. We enjoyed the food and I may be nitpicking but must the waiters and waitresses always use the word WEE-very annoying. A table cloth would have added a touch of class.

The early bird before 6:30pm offering of two courses plus a glass of wine for £16 certainly is very good value. The food was good, but the service was poor. The restaurant was busy and there was a lot of staff running around. I like a restaurant where you are not rushed, but it seemed a little bit disorganized in the fact we did not have a designated server, hence we tended to be "ignored" and had to hail a server for water refills and eventually track someone down in order to pay the bill and leave. If the level of service is not an issue, the food definitely is with a try

I visited Tartine with a girlfriend and on arrival we were shown to barstools to have a drink and look at the menu...there were two sofas in the welcome area which were being used by diners waiting on being seated...barstools were not ideal for girls in little dresses and high shoes i thought. The restaurant was very busy with families and we got seated beside a table which had kids that ran up and down past our table for half an hour...not impressed ! I know that's not the restaurants fault but it did lessen the ambience somewhat. The decor is lovely and the staff all very good as they were kept constantly busy. The food was delicious, a different menu, which is what the North Coast really needs. Someone else has mentioned the sticky toffee pudding and I have to agree, it was best ever and just a nice amount. I wanted to have a drink before we left but I had to ask a staff member if there was somewhere to finish our drinks, which appeared to throw them, as lots of confused looks before they showed us back to the two sofas in the welcome area. It was obvious that they intend you to eat and leave. They are almost there but it needs a few tweeks... Principally a larger area to sit in before and after your meal.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the staff where we were staying locally. The decor was lovely. Staff very friendly. Menu.... Well what can I say. I get the distinct impression "Tartine" is trying to be something it truly is not!! The menu read like something from a Jamie Oliver's restaurant but unfortunately the food it's self didn't quite live up to it! I had baked Sole with some sort of crab dressing. I was disappointed the fish was not filleted. The crab dressing was disgusting!!! Thank god I didn't pour it over my fish or I would never have eaten it. The veg looked nice but was more than aldente... Raw was more like it. My mash potatoes was dry & looked like it had been dropped on the plate from a great hight. My sole was decorated with what I can only describe as fried grass.... Very strange. We were visiting the area for a 2 day break. We ate here on our 1st night but NOT the 2nd. Stop trying to be so fancy. People just want good tasty food. We found the Menu very off putting. Won't be back if back in the area.

The food here was ok. I wasn't wowed by it like I wanted to be. I guess my expectations were just too high other wise I would have probably been a little happier. The prices are kind of on the high end and they are hard to get a table sometimes. So I expected perfection. The staff was very nice and took care of our needs quickly. I do not understand why but . . for some reason. They reserve tables for 2 hours. So even if the people don't show up or leave in less then 2 hours the table just sits empty. Even if they have people waiting for a table. I could not understand why when I reserved a table at 8 I sat for 10-15 minutes waiting for a table even though there were perfectly fine tables sitting empty. I thought maybe we could get sat earlier and eat sooner. Because we were eating much later than normal do to the 6pm being booked up. The food was ok. Mine was pretty bland. And I had the port with this sauce on the plate that tasted somewhat like the bland baby food you feed your baby out of the jar. My husband liked his food pretty well but wasn't overly impressed. Four of us visited Tartine last night, choosing it after reading reviews and we were not disappointed. All of us had different starters, and all were delicious. Again, for main courses we all chose differently : cod, lamb shank, mushroom risotto and pork. I had the pork, which whilst good was a little over-cooked ( and I don't like my pork pink) and a bit too salty for my taste. The mash was yummy and smooth and contrary to other reviews not too much, even for non "locals" . The other plates were cleared and my fellow diners all gave their food "thumbs up". The 2 desserts ordered, Bushmills Cranachan and lemon posset went down a treat and the deliciously fresh Sauvignon Blanc at only £20 just completed the meal. The staff were friendly and helpful, if a little raw around the edges. Service was just ok, my brother-in-law having to wait a little too long for his main after the others had been served. There was no continuity with the waiting staff and this bugged me a little, in that one waiter brought 3 main courses, he then returned with a tray of desserts for another table and minutes later a different waiter brought the final main to our table. We were not served by the same person twice. Plates could have been warmer. The decor and ambience of this unassuming restaurant add to the overall enjoyment. Would recommend

Re-vsited Tartine for a birthday treat. We opted for the dinner madness menu as it is good value - 2 courses and a glass of wine but you must order before 6.30pm. The menu had changed and I'm not so sure that it was for the better. The rosemary chicken had been removed but not replaced with another chicken dish unless you count thai green curry which I could'nt have as it's too spicy. So I opted for the fish pie. Disappointing! Scalding hot, so much so that it ruined the dish. My friend's meal of steak pie and veg however was I am told very enjoyable. Later that night I was quite ill with tummy upset - was it the fish? I have to say I think it was. I like the ambience of Tartine and the staff are great but now I'm not so sure about going back. If I do, I will keep you posted on the outcome.

We visited this restaurant last summer and were very disappointed - firstly by a 40 min. wait between 2 of the courses and also by the very ordinary quality of the food. However one can be unlucky and so considering the "excellent reviews", we decided to give it another whirl. Big mistake! One starter was " alrightish", the other can only be described as disgusting and inedible. Did complain and in fairness was offered an alternative- soup, a fairly safe option I thought (hard to mess up soup). Wrong it was also pretty awful. Mains were not bad though. Uneaten starters were not charged for, which was good. We eat out a lot both here and abroad and know that this meal was overpriced for what it was. Definitely no more money wasted here!

Five of us we went for Sunday lunch. I thought the menu was very nice and good value and it was lovely not to have a carvery. Two of us had the sirloin steak Sunday lunch but felt it would have been far nicer to have roast beef, neither of us felt that steak goes with gravy and veg! The vegetables were lovely and everything was fresh and of nice quality. I felt that it needs to decide what to serve on a Sunday - either a classic Sunday lunch or something more modern, I'm not sure a mix of traditional and modern worked.

The atmosphere in Tartine was really buzzing during our Saturday night visit and it was a great place for a night out with friends. The food itself was excellent, with a menu to suit everyone, but do be prepared for quite generous portions - although none of us were complaining!!!!!

This unassuming restaurant subtly hidden at the top of Bushmills town is a venue that must be visited. Old style comfort, great menu and affordable prices make this an experience not to be missed. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable and the food excellent. Try the whole baked Camembert and then the whole baked Sea Bream and you will have dined in style and still have money in the bank. This restaurant is a must on any diners bucket list. I will be dipping into it again.

I met up with some friends in Tartine at The Distillers Arms recently. This was my first visit since it was renamed Tartine and I was ,very impressed. The welcome was warm and the staff very friendly. We had a lovely table round the back, looking out on the car park. The decor is cosy yet classy! As for the food . . . I had steak which was delicious . . . One of the best steaks I've had recently! Although I didn't have a starter or dessert, my husband had and I had a nibble of his! An excellent restaurant with great food and a lovely warm friendly atmosphere! Thanks to all at Tartine! We'll be back soon!

Pleasant surroundings and excellent service. The food was however mixed. My seafood thermadore was ok but the vegetarian lasagne my wife ordered was a bowl of grease with frozen garlic bread, something you would expect from frankie n bennys, not a supposed high end restaurant!! Nothing special!!

Called in here at short notice for Sunday lunch and found very helpful and friendly staff. This is about the third time we've visited and the food has always been good. This time I enjoyed a mushroom soup enhanced with some cream and a few chopped nuts, a very tasty seafood thermidor and, always one for a lighter dessert, some ice cream. The family sampled duck spring rolls, sirloin steaks, breast of chicken, chocolate brownies and sticky toffee pudding. The mashed potato and root vegetables which accompanied the main courses were very well presented and full of flavour. Only grumbles? The loud gentleman at another table who was convinced that the whole restaurant would benefit from his conversation (which the restaurant can't really do much about!) and the fact that this is the second visit where I have ordered 'a selection of ice cream with a homemade cookie' from the menu to find that the homemade cookie was replaced by a bought-in wafer. It's just a wee thing, but I do like to get what is promised on the menu!Overall though - a good meal and we will go back again.

The food and service are always brilliant here! And the cozy atmosphere means you don't feel like leaving in a hurry. The menus whilst not huge, have enough of a selection to suit every taste. The early bird menu served from 5:00 pm- 6:30 pm is especially good value, offering two courses and a glass of red or white wine or soft drink for £16. The steaks and desserts are especially tasty. There's also a well stocked bar with lots of malt whiskies and wheat beer on tap.

Great restaurent, very cosy, lovely decor especially the art and pleasant staff. We enjoyed our meal - the early bird option - which we thought was good value for money. I especially liked the vegetarian option I choose for my main course, possibly the best vegetarian dish I ever had in a restaurent (although the amount of parsnip may be a bit too sweet for some peoples taste). We'll certainly be back.

Stormy Sunday night in January, welcomed by the warmth of the open fire, subtle tones of good music choices and personal greeting from waitress; we knew we were onto a winner! Baked goat's cheese, salmon creme brûlée accompanied by the breads was a great start to our meal. We followed this with The pork main and oven baked cod. Both were fabulously tasty and the unnecessary sides of Parmesan potatoes and route veg had us bursting at the seams! We just didn't have room for desserts after this feast and will have to do a revisit to remedy this! The wine list was extensive and well priced with The Jumper SB and lovely cote do rhone we were very happy!

We were recommended the Tartine by friends and will be telling others about the place. From entering the restaurant with the lovely open fire and Christmas tree we felt totally at home. We were welcomed by both of the very friendly waiters and offered delicious complimentary mulled wine. We had the earlybird special 2 courses and a large glass of wine for £16 unbelievable value! I had the turkey roulade which surprisingly was a full Christmas dinner, probably would have been enough to feed us both, but it was delicious. My husband had the beef bourg and he finished every scrap. We loved the (3) veg which were cooked to perfection, hate the al-dente veg so many serve these days. Just about managed the gorgeous sticky toffee pudding!Just sorry that we didn't eat there on our second evening in Bushmills, though I have to say we enjoyed what we had at the hotel, it didn't compare with the Tantine both in quality and price.Looking forward to returning in the New Year.

We decided to try here on a recent visit to Bushmills for a small break, and Tartine didnt disappoint. Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable about the wine list and food. For starters i had the crab brulee which was out of this world with cucumber as a side (not sure what is was dressed with but it was yummy) and the hubby had quail, which was also magnificent! For mains we choose pigeon for me and salmon for the hubby, with a side of their brown bread as we had read all about it. Yet again, they didnt disappoint. If i lived here, i would be here every week.Personally given the quality of food and wine i found the pricing almost too cheap. If we were in England, you would have been charged an extra 20percent at least.Id certainly love to come back!

Tartine was recommended by our B&B host, Bob, from White Road House, as solid value compared to other choices in Bushmills. He nailed it. In the opinion of 2 couples, Tartine offered the best brown bread during our stay in Ireland, fresh and moist. We thoroughly enjoyed the hosts, waiter/waitress staff, and the dining patrons with whom we visited. Dinner was delicious but can't remember what I even ordered. Particularly liked having the opportunity to sit by the fire during a chilling evening, while dinner was prepared. We were asked to the table when dinner was ready.

As soon as we walked through the door we knew we were giong to like this place. The staff were friendly, it was queit and relaxed with a welcoming athmosphere. I don't normally drink, but the staff were really friendly advising which cider to have and then asking me if i enjoyed it. I am vegetarian and not only did it have veggie options but something different to the normal lasagne or risotto too! The whole meal (both meat and veggie choices) was gorgeous and filling. We could not fault the food. And for pudding...well the strawboffee pie was to die for!! Just thinking about it now makes me smile! The only downside was that while I was paying, I got a phone call off my Dad to say my Grandma had just passed away and so I ended up running out the restaurant, upset, to talk to him - I hope they didnt think it was anything to do with them as until then it was the most perfect night! I hope to go back one day as it really was lovely.

I'll be honest; I had low expectations of Bushmills dining but this place proved me very wrong. Lovely room with roaring fire near entrance giving way to a mixture of old exposed brick with some more modern fittings and modern paintings. Very good menu which you would describe as being traditional irish/british food but with modern interpretation. The service was great. Staff were polite, quick and helpful. The room had a lively buzz to it. The food when it arrived was delicious. I can particularly recommend the crab starter and the venison. The sticky toffee pudding was also perfect. I hope the chef and owners keep up this current standard. I will definitely be back.

In the month we traveled Ireland we had our best meal at Tartine and we had some really great meals. We booked in advance and when we arrived we were taken to the bar where our cocktails were prepared and we were given the menu to review. There is a front sitting room that was full at the time we arrived but the bar area was very nice. This is an attractive chic restaurant with wonderful artwork by local artists The bartender/waiter told us about the specials and we placed our order with him. When the appetizers were ready we were shown to our table and served. My husband started with charcouterie with merguez sausage and prosciutto salami w/ pimento relish and had char grilled loin of rare Tamworth pork on Toulouse sausage and white bean cassoulet w/ white truffle oil as his main. I started with crispy duck spring rolls with pickled Asian salad and plum sauce and seared scallops with confit of Mediterranean vegetables, bacon rocket salad, courgette crisps, herb oil as my main. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The flavors were outstanding and everything was expertly prepared. Although we were quite content we could not resist splitting Cranachan made with Bushmills cream for dessert and it was lovely. Service was as perfect as the food.

Had early bird meal last Friday, 2 courses & glass of wine for £16. Really lovely surroundings, very relaxed. Staff couldn't have been nicer! Id duck spring roll which was delicious, hubby had deep fried brie which he loved. Then we both went for steaks - I'd mine medium, my hubby had his rare. I couldn't finish all of mine & gave last bit to my hubby - he said his was lovely while mine was a bit tough but we both certainly enjoyed what we ate! We then left and dandered down to the Bushmills inn, sat by the fire like old foggies, had a drink, read the paper then walked back up the hill and went back in to the Tartine for sticky toffee pudding and wee drink to go with it - what a lovely way to finish off a perfect night! Would def recommend this place, well worth a visit!
